What happens when love, beauty, war, magic and chaos collide in Norse mythology? In this episode, we're diving into Freya and Loki, two figures who both exist on the edges of the worlds they inhabit. We explore Freya as the powerful goddess of love, beauty, war, death and seiưr magic, including her famous necklace, her connection to Odin and her role among the honored dead. We also discuss signs Freya may be reaching out and ways to work with her energy. Then we turn to Loki, the trickster, shapeshifter and blood brother of Odin, exploring his outsider status, his role in Ragnarok and what his chaos can teach us. Plus, we explore the fascinating duality of these two complex figures and what they reveal about power, identity and embracing the parts of ourselves that don't fit neatly into one box.Check out Molly's new space and book in if you're local to the Saco area for a 1:1 session: https://mollydonlan.as.me/sacosanctuaryJoin us over on our Patreon for bonus content based around this series, magical downloads, bonus episodes and unhinged side quests: https://www.patreon.com/demystifymagic

With Avengers: Doomsday only months away, Disney+ has narrowed decades of Marvel history down to just 14 movies and ONE show, including X-Men, X2, Avengers: Endgame, Loki, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Deadpool & Wolverine, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thunderbolts and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Power of X-Men: The Greatest Comic Book Podcast in All of the Multiverse!
LET'S GET INTO SADIE SINK'S ROLE IN SPIDER-MAN BRAND NEW DAY! A lot to say and discuss!Ā
THE WRITTEN RECAP The age of the trickster Every civilization has a name for him. The Polynesians call him Maui. The Norse, and Marvel, call him Loki. The Greeks named him Odysseus. Paul describes him in Ephesians 4:14 as human cunning. The trickster is never direct. He is always disguised. What looks like a gift can carry an army. What looks like peace can hide a war. And once you've survived enough Trojan Horses, you stop trusting gifts altogether. Every apology might have an agenda. Which is where we find ourselves. We've learned the language of peacemaking without living the virtues of peacemaking. We know the words: forgiveness, boundaries, accountability. We can even have ChatGPT write our apology texts. The problem is that it can give us the script but never the soul. Techniques, devoid of transformation, are just a bag of tricks. But Paul isn't only preaching about the manipulators out there. He warns us about the manipulator in here. When you've been manipulated, it gets easy to justify retaliation. Which is why he gives us the posture before he ever gets to the process. "Without the posture of Christ, peacemaking is no longer a practice that matures us, but a ploy to manipulate others." Ephesians splits right down the middle. Chapters 1 through 3 tell us what Christ has done. Chapter 4 opens with therefore. Peace has been received. Here is how peace gets practiced. Paul gives us the posture in four steps. But it isn't a staircase you climb up. It's steps you go down. Because ever since Genesis 3, humanity has been climbing. We climb for significance, for status, for control. And when someone hurts us, we don't want to move toward them. We'd rather tower over them. But reconciliation happens at eye level. Every virtue Paul names is another step down. The good news is not that we found a way up to God's level, but that God came down to ours. "Peace was made when God took the first step down. So it shouldn't surprise us that Paul's first instruction to peacemakers is to start coming down too."

After that unhinged Wicker trailer sent the whole internet into a spin, we're deep diving the fictional characters we were never supposed to find attractive⦠and yet. We're talking a gruff saber-tooth tiger with a heart of gold, the Marvel villain whose fan fiction was so unhinged it earned him a spinoff, and the wettest of wet-blanket sitcom romantics who somehow ages into a green flag. Plus the Twilight nobody we should've been rooting for the whole time, a brooding Finding Nemo fish the internet has turned into a full-blown daddy, and the Bear character with the most beautiful arc on TV. Power of X-Men: The Greatest Comic Book Podcast in All of the Multiverse!
Planet X-Men and Power of X-Men breakdown every plot point and reference in this episode!
The One Piece fandom is in absolute chaos right now, and we are here for all of it.First up, Scopper Gaban has finally arrived in the anime. After 25 years of waiting, the Roger Pirates' left-hand man steps into the main story. We're breaking down what his appearance means, his brief clash with Luffy, and that flashback that reminds us just how wild the Roger era really was. Then, Luffy and Zoro freed Loki. The Accursed Prince's chains are off. Hajrudin warned them not to do it. Luffy did it anyway. Now Loki is standing with Ragnir in hand while the Holy Knights move in the shadows. We're talking about what this means for Elbaf and why Luffy's decision could change everything. And finally, the hot take that's going to get us ratio'd: Shamrock Figarland is a more compelling character than Shanks. Same face. None of the warmth. Commander of the Holy Knights. Son of Garling. Shanks without the moral compass. We're breaking down why we think Shamrock is the dark twin Shanks never could be, and why that makes him way more interesting. Sometimes the toughest conversations aren't about movies or musicāthey're about friendships, money, and knowing when enough is enough. In this episode of Views From The 7, the crew dives into the difficult realities of long-term friendships, lending money, and recognizing when someone needs to be taken off your list for good. From personal experiences to relationship expectations, we unpack dating with intention, transparency, āgirlfriend treatment,ā and why marriage is more than just romanceāit's also a business decision. Then we shift into entertainment as we break down the biggest announcements coming out of San Diego Comic-Con. With Marvel leaning heavily into nostalgia, we debate whether the return of familiar faces is enough to get the MCU back on track. We also discuss what's next for the franchise with Avengers: Doomsday, Secret Wars, and Black Panther 3, while taking a look at DC's upcoming slate, including Lanterns and Clayface, and whether DC can finally close the gap with Marvel. And because it's Views From The 7, we wrap things up with some lighter conversationsāincluding the fast-food hacks we somehow never knew existed (yesā¦the soda lid buttons). ā±ļø Timestamps 1:00 ā The āFriendship Limitā & Social Media Drama Ivan shares a personal story about a longtime friendship that unraveled over money. The crew debates where to draw the line between helping friends and being taken advantage of, and whether social media should ever be used to air out personal disputes. 45:15 ā The āGirlfriend Treatmentā Debate What does it really mean to date with intention? The conversation gets heated as the crew discusses āgirlfriend treatment,ā mixed signals, and why changing relationship patterns can create unexpected tension. 1:03:25 ā Marriage as a Business Decision Is marriage purely about love? The crew discusses divorce laws, protecting your assets, prenups, and why many people see marriage as both a romantic and financial partnership. 1:09:30 ā Marvel's Nostalgia Play Following the latest Comic-Con announcements, the crew debates Robert Downey Jr.ās return, Marvel's future with Avengers: Doomsday, Secret Wars, and Black Panther 3, plus whether DC's Lanterns and Clayface can finally shift the superhero landscape. 1:48:00 ā Fast Food āRevelationsā The episode ends on a hilarious note as the crew realizes they've been missing some of the internet's most āobviousā life hacksāfrom soda lid buttons to the real purpose of can tabs.

Jim Hill and Dan Graney examine the Avengers: Doomsday poster everyone may have looked at wrong, including a nearly hidden Loki positioned at the center of the multiverse and a newly powered-up Thor. They also discuss Marvel Comics leaving New York for Burbank, Kevin Feige's apparent Spider-Man: Brand New Day spoiler, and the increasingly wild X-Men casting rumors ahead of San Diego Comic-Con. Plus, Dan challenges the online narrative surrounding Supergirl and explains why theatrical box office may no longer tell the whole story. HIGHLIGHTS ⢠Marvel Comics prepares to leave New York City after nearly 90 years and relocate its publishing operation to Burbank. ⢠Stephen Wacker takes over as Marvel editor-in-chief while C.B. Cebulski shifts his focus to manga and Asian publishing projects. ⢠Loki may be hiding in plain sight at the exact center of the Avengers: Doomsday ensemble poster. ⢠Thor's orange lightning could signal the arrival of the Odinforce and the MCU's most powerful version of the character yet. ⢠Andy Park's final major Marvel Studios artwork carries an unexpectedly poignant Endgame connection. ⢠Kevin Feige may have revealed Yelena Belova's surprise appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. ⢠X-Men casting rumors intensify ahead of Marvel Studios' Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con. ⢠Vision Quest gets an October release date, Ćlodie Yung returns as Elektra, and Nova reportedly evolves from a series into a feature film. ⢠Supergirl, The Mandalorian and Grogu, and Masters of the Universe raise bigger questions about online negativity, streaming strategy, and how studios now measure success. Send us Fan MailWelcome back to DMR!As we break down the first official trailer for The Avengers: Doomsday! The trailer explodes with multiversal energy, pulling listeners into a collision of three iconic worldsāAvengers, XāMen, and the Fantastic Four. Doctor Doom stands at the center of the chaos, radiating a level of power that instantly reframes the stakes. His confrontation with Thor, stopping Stormbreaker midāstrike, signals that this isn't just another villain risingāit's a seismic shift in the MCU's hierarchy. The trailer leans heavily into tension, showcasing collapsing realities, returning legends, and the emotional weight of heroes facing a threat that eclipses anything they've known. What makes the trailer truly electrifying is its sense of scale and inevitability. The incursions between universes feel catastrophic, pushing characters into alliances and conflicts that fans have dreamed about for years. Seeing Steve Rogers, Loki, Professor X, and Magneto woven into the same narrative hints at a story built on legacy, consequence, and impossible choices. As Doom warns of an āunthinkable decision,ā the trailer positions Doomsday as a defining chapterāone that promises not just spectacle, but a reckoning across the multiverse.Dont forget your 30 Day Free Audible Trial - Link in the show!Enjoy DMRSupport the showThe audio/video clips used in this podcast, including excerpts from movie/series/documentary trailers, are used under the principles of fair use and fair dealing for the purpose of criticism, commentary, and review. Frank and Tim pour a drink and break down every reveal, theory, and Easter egg buried in the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. Cheers! We get into: The incursion, and why this is basically the first act of the movie (heroes miscommunicate, then find a bigger threat) The X-Men leading the cold open: Xavier's school on its last legs and what that window shot means Doctor Doom in live action for the "fifth" time, and why this one finally feels like it counts The RDJ voice debate: is that Downey under the mask, and does it matter if Doom just happens to have Tony's face? Crossover money shots Marvel wants you to care about (Shang-Chi vs. Gambit) and the ones that actually land Thor vs. Doom, and the magic rune on Doom's gauntlet that might belong to Wanda The Hydra Cap theory: how is a long-haired, bearded Steve worthy of Mjolnir? Is that Loki shot really pulled from the show? And is Doom collecting kids? The Kang problem nobody at Marvel wants to say out loud Where's Spider-Man, and why he's probably being saved for Secret Wars and Battleworld Tickets already selling out and a teaser that cleared 500 million views in a week What we're drinking: Frank's on a Sam Adams Blueberry Lager (Red, White & Blueberry). Tim is drinking WhistlePig PiggyBack rye out of a porcelain Doctor Doom head he's had since childhood, whose brains have apparently been replaced by whiskey. The Avengers: Doomsday trailer is finally here, and after watching it more times than I'd like to admit, I have a theory that keeps growing... What if Doctor Doom isn't actually the main villain? In this episode of Marvel Maniac: An MCU Aftershow, we're breaking down the trailer beat by beatāfrom Doom's mysterious warning about "an unthinkable decision" to Thor's ominous narration, the return of the X-Men, Steve Rogers, Loki, and the possibility that the real enemy isn't Doctor Doom at all... but the incursions themselves. Along the way, I explore theories surrounding Doom's true motives, whether Steve Rogers could be hiding a shocking secret, what role the Fantastic Four may play in the coming conflict, and why Marvel may be using this trailer to cleverly misdirect all of us. Whether these predictions come true or not, one thing is certain: this trailer gave us a lot to think about. Avengers... disassemble.
The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday has finally arrived, and while it looks visually impressive, did it actually live up to the hype?In this solo Sigma Review, I share my honest reaction to Marvel Studios' biggest film since Avengers: Endgame. We break down the trailer, discuss Doctor Doom's intimidating debut, Thor's return to form, the long-awaited arrival of the X-Men, Loki, Shang-Chi, and what Marvel chose to revealāand more importantly, what they didn't.I also dive into the state of the MCU after Endgame, why I don't believe "Marvel fatigue" is the real issue, how the abandoned Kang storyline affected the Multiverse Saga, and whether Doomsday has what it takes to restore the excitement that defined the Infinity Saga. Finally, we discuss Marvel's new Infinity Vision format, the Avengers: Endgamere-release, and why I hope Marvel resists the temptation to reveal too much before the film's release. Is Avengers: Doomsday the beginning of a new golden era for the MCU, or are we still waiting for Marvel to find its next great direction? Let's talk about it.

According to Deadline's sources, Michael Waldron, who has written a number of MCU projects including Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as well as the first treatment of the never-to-be Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, is developing the script for a Nova feature film. Waldron is currently on the Avengers: Doomsday writing team with Steven McFeely and a Nova focused TV or film project has long been rumored to be in the works for Marvel; Last week Warner Bros and Legendary released the official trailer for Dune: Part Three, the seemingly epic conclusion to Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of Frank Herbet's fundamental sci-fi source material. The trailer, like the teasers before it, depicts the conflict situated around the rise and fall of Timothee Chalamet's warmongering, would-be messiah, Paul Atriedes, while showcasing the star-studded cast of newcomers, and returning characters in more ways than one. Dune: Part Three has yet to waiver from its December debut coinciding with Avengers: Doomsday; The post-Supergirl DCU has been the subject of much consternation and the latest pieces of news coming from the studio and franchise do little to change the tunes on either side of the chorusline. First, Jimmy Tatro is reportedly in talks to voice Gorilla Grodd in the Jimmy Olsen TV spinoff series that is supposedly titled DC Crime. Elsewhere, Deadline sources claim Xolo Marideuna is set to suit up as the Blue Beetle once more in Man of Tomorrow, the sequel to 2025's Superman.Avengers: Doomsday tickets go on sale July 20, and the early sale announcement comes with a confirmed runtime of 165 minutes. Julianne Nicholson joins Season 2 of HBO's Task, reprising her Emmy-winning Mare of Easttown role as Lori Ross and officially placing the two shows in the same universe. Prime Video released first look images at Carrie, Mike Flanagan's series adaptation of the Stephen King novel, coming this fall. Paramount has closed a deal for U.S. rights to Wes Craven's original A Nightmare on Elm Street screenplay, with plans to adapt it into a new feature. Sam Neill, star of Jurassic Park, The Piano, and In the Mouth of Madness, has died at 78. The live-action Moana opened to $95 million worldwide, well under projections, with Deadline reporting the film stands to lose $100-125 million. Warner Bros. dropped the first trailer for Digger, Alejandro G. IñÔrritu's film starring Tom Cruise as oil baron Digger Rockwell, in theaters October 2. The M3GAN spinoff Soulm8te is skipping theaters after being pulled from Universal's calendar and heads straight to digital on August 1. The 2026 Emmy nominations were announced last week and are led by HBO Max's The Pitt with 25 nominations, narrowly ahead of the final season of Hacks with 24, making them the clear frontrunners heading into September's ceremony. The first trailer arrived for Buddy, Casper Kelly's horror comedy starring Cristin Milioti and Keegan-Michael Key, hitting theaters August 28.New Line's The Conuring prequel The Conjuring: First Communion has cast Garrett Wareing and Amanda Fix in lead roles. The pair will play young versions of franchise characters Ed and Lorraine Warren.A coalition of a dozen states on Monday sued to block Paramount Skydance's acquisition of Warner Bros. It seems that no matter where one looks in the gaming industry, there's bad news on the horizon. Such is certainly the case with Sony, as the Japanese company announced two pieces of bad news concurrent to one another: That beginning in 2028, PlayStation hardware will no longer receive disc-based releases, and that by next summer, you will no longer be able to buy digital PS3 and Vita games. All things considered, the latter is a more understandable decision (after all, Sony tried to do this back in 2021 before pulling back), but the former situation has set the PlayStation fanbase alight in a way we've not seen since perhaps 2011, if not 2006, both extremely ominous years in the brand's history. We discuss both topics in great detail, incorporate a ton of your inquiries, and try to make sense of what's happening from every conceivable angle. There's other news this week, too, including Sony's stance on hardware subsidies, PlayStation's continuing commitment to the games-as-a-service sector, new roster additions for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Is Exodus' scrapping of its in-game character creator a sign of things to come? Why are some publishers and developers so secretive with sales figures? What potential ideas could emulate the interplay between EVE Online and Dust-514? Did Dustin answer the Dustin-signal that Colin sent into the atmospheric ether? Suddenly, his wife and kids turn to dust and he has no idea why. 23 days later, Tony Stark & Nebula are stuck in space together. She's helping him heal. They're about to run out of oxygen when Captain Marvel shows up to save them. She brings them back to Earth where they're reunited with Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Rhodey & Rocket. The happy reunion doesn't last long. Tony does one of his famous freak outs, saying things he will most certainly regret. Captain Marvel gets the rundown & decides she's going to go kill Thanos herself. Everyone is like this witch shows up out of nowhere and now wants to be the hero, but Thor likes her and says we should go. So they track Thanos down. He's like oh hi. I destroyed the stones. My bad. So Thor cuts his head off. Fast forward 5 years and Scott randomly pops out of the quantum realm machine, very confused. So he goes to talk to the Avengers about his experience. He tells Cap & Natasha about how for him, the 5 years was only 5 minutes. Maybe there's some way to use the quantum realm to go back in time and stop Thanos. Only one guy is smart enough to help - Tony. But now Tony has a daughter & he's not interested in helping. But Tony can't forget about it. He pokes around and figures out how it could work. Scott, Cap, and Natasha turn to the next smartest guy they know - Bruce. He agrees to help and they do some experiments but nothing overly helpful. Tony shows up with a time traveling device and says it's time to get the band back together. They do some testing and find out they can go to the past and bring something back without changing anything. So they have a plan - team up and go get the stones and bring them to the present which would prevent Thanos from being able to do his thing. Banner, Lang, Rogers, and Stark travel back to New York during Loki's 2012 invasion. At the Sanctum Sanctorum, Banner persuades the Ancient One to hand over the Time Stone by promising that all of the Infinity Stones will eventually be returned to their rightful places in time. Plus, Doctor Strange gave it up willingly in his time which is good enough for the Ancient One. Meanwhile, at Stark Tower, Rogers successfully recovers the Mind Stone from Hydra agents posing as S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives. However, Stark and Lang's plan to steal the Space Stone goes wrong, allowing Loki to escape with it. To recover from the setback, Rogers and Stark travel further back to 1970, where Stark obtains an earlier version of the Space Stone and unexpectedly gets the chance to speak with his father. Rogers steals additional Pym Particles needed for their return trip and catches a glimpse of his lost love, Peggy Carter. Meanwhile, Thor and Rocket journey to Asgard in 2013. Rocket extracts the Reality Stone from Jane Foster, while Thor reunites with his mother, Frigga, who snaps him out of his funk and gets his swag and his hammer back. In 2014, Nebula and Rhodey travel to Morag and secure the Power Stone before Peter Quill can retrieve it. Hawkeye and Black Widow head to Vormir, where Red Skull explains that the Soul Stone can only be obtained through the sacrifice of someone you love. Romanoff gives her life so Barton can claim the Stone. As Rhodes and Nebula prepare to return to the present, Nebula's cybernetic implants connect with those of her past self. This allows the 2014 version of Thanos to learn about his future defeat and the Avengers' plan to reverse it. Thanos captures Nebula and sends her 2014 counterpart into the future to infiltrate the Avengers and pave the way for his arrival. So they all return back in the present with the stones, sans Natasha. They put the stones on an iron glove and Bruce agrees that he's probably the best dude for the job. He snaps and immediately collapses. Hawkeye immediately gets a phone call from his wife. It worked!!! But the happiness doesn't last long because 2014 Gamora used the Time Machine to get 2014 Thanos to show up and shoot the Avengers compound up big time. He's like thanks for getting all of the stones together for me. It's giant fight time, folks. And it's not looking great for the Avengers despite the fact that Thor's hammer saw Cap as worthy enough to use it. But just when it's looking bleak, Doctor Strange returns by opening portals for the rest of the Avengers to show up and join the battle. Avengers assemble and IT'S AWESOME! It's a tough battle and Scott is busy getting his van Time Machine up and running since Thanos destroyed the other one so that they can return the stones. Captain Marvel shows up last minute and it's looking like they might do it but Thanos makes the van explode. Thanos gets the gauntlet back but Captain Marvel stops him from snapping his fingers. He's able to free himself. It's looking like a lost cause but Tony looks over at Strange who holds up 1 finger, showing Tony that this is the 1 in 14 million chances they win. Tony is able to get the stones and snap his fingers and make Thanos and his baddies disappear. But unfortunately the blast was too much for Tony and he dies. At Tony's funeral, all the Avengers show up to show their respects. They create a new Time Machine and Captain America goes to return all of the stones to their proper time. But he doesn't return to present day. Well, he does but he's old. He decided to stay in 1970 and grow old with Peggy Carter. Steve gives Sam his shield. We have a new Captain America now.
