Patrick Rieger emailed some photos: "Hi Marc, I feel like I have been slacking this summer sending you pictures after having sent so many. Celtic Pittsburgh hasn't been doing much the past few months though we do have plans in the works for an event in October. Meanwhile, the renaissance festival season for my family and I started when we attended the Great Lakes Medieval faire the weekend of July 27 and 28. It was a great weekend, and we needed time away from the daily routine. With life so busy for everyone we hardly see friends anymore, and this was a chance to see many of them. We were happy to find that our friend Captain John Stout, aka Richard Brentar, has returned to Great Lakes after having been absent for a few years. I'm not sure what I enjoy more, his music or his stories, he always has lots of great stories to tell. We also saw the Jackdaws, Celtic Mayhem, and Michael Manderen. Sadly we didn't make the shows of Menagerie Music this year but we did manage to catch up with Lisa from that duo. My family and I plus a couple of friends went to see John McCann and Hamish at Mullaney's Harp & Fiddle in Pittsburgh on August 3. These two are a lot of fun and have great energy, and get the place jumping. I have seen them for 15 years, starting when they were part of the Corned Beef & Curry Band. Sadly that band broke up when one of the three decided to explore other musical paths. I'll be sending more pictures of Celtic musicians come September after trips to two more ren faires. Until then, slainte!" Cheryl Arvio emailed some photos: "Hi Marc, Sorry these photos aren't better, but this is Socks in the Frying Pan from Friday night's show at the Irish American Heritage Center in Chicago. Brilliant, as they always are! Bummed that they are not playing Milwaukee Irish Fest this year, but happy we got to see them (and pick up their new CD) in our hometown. Best,"

However just within the last few weeks it has completely disappeared! It will not even come up on a search, which is crazy because your music CDs do. How odd. Did you get some sort of notification from Amazon Prime Music that your podcast was no longer going to be available? I will have to figure out a new way to listen to it and I will! There's good news though, your Celtic Christmas podcasts are still available on Amazon Prime! Love it always, any time of the year. " Patrick Rieger emailed some photos: "Hi Marc, My family and I have been busy the past month with a stop at our favorite pub and two renaissance festivals, so I'll be sending a few emails about the incredible musicians we enjoyed. On August 24, we went to Mullaney's Harp & Fiddle to see John McCann and Hamish, and an hour after they started everyone, including John and Hamish, got a surprise: the third member of the Corned Beef and Curry Band dropped in, Bob Banerjee. Bob is the most incredible fiddle player I have ever seen, and he has an endless number of bad jokes. He is the curry in the band's name, having been born in India. So for a few hours, this great band was back together. Irish musician Mark Guiser was in the audience that night, and was invited onto the stage for a few songs. Two wedding parties then dropped in for some post - reception fun. The energy, excitement and fun hadn't been that high at the Harp in a long time, and my wife and I only left because our son needed to get to bed. In one photo is The Corned Beef & Curry Band, from left to right, John McCann, Bob Banerjee, and Hamish, In the other, Mark Guiser and Bob. They were playing Hallelujah with Mark singing."

Patrick Rieger sent Some More Irish Pictures: "Hello Marc, A few more photos to share. First up, a few of Terry Griffith, the last few times he was on a stage with an in - person audience at Mullaney's Harp and Fiddle. One is from the 2020 fundraiser for the Pittsburgh Saint Patrick's Day Parade on February 13, 2020, and another is from his gig on February 28, 2020. Within a few weeks, the words Covid and Coronavirus quickly became part of our daily vocabulary, and the shows came to an end for a couple of years. On June 4, 2022, we had a retirement party for Terry. The best part of the night is when he strapped on a guitar and led the packed pub in A Health to the Company. There were tears and cheers for him throughout the evening, but most came during that special song. The last photo is from tonight, January 27, 2024. John McCann on acoustic guitar and Hamish on percussion packed the Harp & Fiddle. Lots of great music and an interactive audience.”

Patrick Rieger sent pictures from PITTSBURGH: "Hi Marc, Thank you so much for so many years of the podcast, Marc, and the invitation to share pictures of Irish musicians we are enjoying this Summer. I look forward to each episode. My wife and play it in the car and at home. This is John McCann, on stage at Mullaney's Harp & Fiddle Irish Pub in Pittsburgh, on July 15. John is a regular there, and my family, friends and I always enjoy his shows. John is helping to teach our 11 year old son how to properly clap along to what our late friend, Terry Griffith, described, in jest, as annoying Irish audience participation songs. Our son doesn't have the timing down yet but he is getting better. His favorite is Whiskey in the Jar. Casey Deely joined John on stage for a couple of songs that night. There are plenty more shows to go to before Summer ends, so if you want more photos just let me know. And if you ever find yourself in Pittsburgh, my wife and I will gladly introduce you to our favorite irish pub." Sophie Wildman - Gurung emailed: "Dear Marc, I thought I'd write as I've been listening to your podcast this afternoon as I tie up the first plants in my new garden in Somerset (UK) in holes kindly dug by my magical friend Bangles (Woodland Folk). It was Bangles who first introduced me to your podcast shortly after we first met last November. We met when I was then living in Wells and he was busking 'Troika' by Sergei Prokofiev which was the peice of music I had been looking for, to fit in with 'I believe in Father Christmas' by Greg Lake, that I had been working on. Since then we have been jamming together regularly (mainly folk), often at his spot in the woods, sometimes around the folk nights nearby, with him on his fiddle and me on folk harp (22 strings) and singing. You recently played a recording he'd sent in of some crows so I thought I'd send in one he did of me playing a verse from 'Longlife and Sucess to the Farmer' (quite appropriate for this time of year and my afternoons activities although as an advocate of 'no - dig gardening' I'm not a fan of ploughs,) accompanied by probably the same crows - warning us if there are walkers nearby. Maybe with a bit more practise we'll get 'I believed in Father Christmas' together to send you, fingers crossed in time for Christmas! Really enjoying your podcasts, thank you. I've been a fan of Celtic music as long as I can remember. My family is originally from Cornwall which may have something to do with it and obviously lots of music for lever harp (which I've been playing since I was 10) is Celtic. So long may the podcast continue, play on! Kind regards" Woodland Folk sent some pictures and wrote: "Heard bout Ur scifirish on band camp.... inspired... One of the first videos I saw online when I had a skylark(not a violin or fiddle but I respect it greatly for teaching me the tentative mechanics),an Irish man with a fiddle on his knee, looking into the camera said "it's love".... Wisdom many could learn from..." woodland folk sent another photo: "I feel I have been out of the loop, looking forward to making up for this by listening back to a few old faithful episodes (man of the house/2 hour fiddle episode and all...) and a few new ones on a 9 hour coach trip to moffat in Scotland,to see my son who is now a strapping, baritone 17 yrs..... Time is an odd thing.... I tentatively tryed a little Fahey in wells yesterday, though simple with few embellishments....in a way the simplest tunes are the hardest to play,Irish washerwoman or silver spear are deceptive and pretty...... I find Music the grandest analogy for life..."

Tuesday Topics will continue a tradition we began last year. We explored last year just how ACB was going to vote during a totally digital convention. This year we are dealing with a different animal in that our convention in Omaha Nebraska will be a "hybrid convention". In other words, we have to meet the needs of those folks who are at home and do not choose to attend our ACB meetings in person and the requirements of those who have decided they want to be at our conference in person! How does this change how we will handle votes! How will we handle amendments to our governing documents if there are any? What if we don't finish everything by the time of our last in-person meeting. The Voting Task Force has at least some of the answers to these questions and will also discuss how a one week convention has suddenly grown and why! I am not sure just who will be a part of the task force group but I think we can expect to hear from Patrick Sheehan, Ray Campbell, John McCann and Koni Sims. We may have some others but I know we will have an exciting discussion that I hope many of you will join in. We plan to allow for lots of questions during our time together. John joins me to talk about BITS and tell us a little about his life, career and ACB journey. A fascinating conversationalist I think we will have lots to talk about. This week we celebrate the success of the Penn state Convention. President Christine Hunsinger and her team will be on hand to tell us all about the planning process and pulling it all off! Tom Burgunder headed the conference Planning and Program Team checking back to be sure that we all did what we were expected to do and keeping up with contacts outside of PCB. He also kept pushing us to get those exhibit hall venders set up to inform us and sell products when the conference was not using Live Event. Mary Ann Grignon, who is our Firsst Vice President, heads the fund raising team, and is instrumental in the activities of the peer engagement team. Her team worked out the details on the auction. The peer engagement team did public speaking workshops and had a first timer event which we hoped would encourage people who had not been so familiar with what we do to become active in the organization. Sue Lichtenfels, our immediate Past President, had so many good ideas for the conference and found so many presenters that the conference would have been a lot shorter without that work. She also organized the documents that we sent out to all who signed up, and she kept that technical schedule up to date so we knew who had to be contacted and when. Sue also came up with after conference entertainment for each evening that was just so much fun. Last but not least, Doug Hunsinger, my husband, worked tirelessly to create a professional sounding product for ACB Radio to air. Sunday Edition airs on ACB Radio Mainstream at 1pm eastern and can be found on all your major Podcast Catchers after the show. Search ACB Sunday Edition and please subscribe to the show. Additionally I will be Joining Tuesday Topics on Election Night for a night of NONpartizen discussion and watching of the returns. Thanks to Paul for the opportunity.
