What if you didn't need a huge audience to grow your business — just one good partner who already has one? In today's episode, we're breaking down a repeatable system for finding, pitching, and scaling partnerships, even if you're starting with zero connections and zero ad budget. Kyle Kane is a former music executive, an Inc. 500 honoree, and the founder behind onSpark.com(opens in new tab), a platform that's driven over $2 billion in partnership revenue for the brands he's worked with. Early in his career, he built relationships the old-school way, going to events and building Rolodexes. But he realized the real unlock wasn't about meeting more people. It was about turning existing relationships into a measurable, repeatable system. That realization led him to build a framework he calls DVLA: Discover, Verify, Launch, and Amplify. It's designed so a side hustler with no network can access the same partnership leverage as a Fortune 500 business development team. Tune in to Episode 756 of the Side Hustle Show to learn: how to find and reach out to the right partners using a simple 4-bullet message how to build trust fast with a "minimum viable partnership" before ever signing a contract how to scale a single successful test into a repeatable partnership machine (Get the free Partnership Playbook and learn how to borrow an audience, build real relationships, and turn them into revenue at onSpark.com/hustle). Making a Scene Presents - How AI Can Turn One Song Into a 30-Day Marketing Plan Your Song Is More Than One Release-Day Post Independent artists are often told that they need more content. More videos. More posts. More stories. More emails. More reels. More reasons to dance in front of a phone while pointing at words floating over their heads. The pressure never stops. The problem is not that artists have nothing to say. The problem is that most artists do not have a system for turning what they have already created into a steady flow of useful stories, fan conversations, and income opportunities. A song may take months to write, record, mix, master, and release. Then the artist posts the cover art, drops a streaming link, asks everyone to listen, and moves on three days later because the algorithm has already developed the attention span of a caffeinated squirrel. That is a terrible return on the time, money, and emotion that went into the music. One song can support a full month of marketing without the artist repeating the same sales pitch thirty times. The song contains lyrics, emotions, production choices, personal stories, visual ideas, fan questions, live-performance moments, merchandise ideas, video clips, and reasons for people to join the artist's journey. Artificial intelligence can help uncover those pieces. It can organize them, rewrite them for different platforms, create variations, suggest visuals, draft emails, outline reels, and build a working calendar. But AI should not become the artist. The artist supplies the truth, personality, music, feelings, and point of view. AI helps turn that raw material into a usable plan. Think of it as a fast assistant who never gets tired, but occasionally says something ridiculous with complete confidence. You still need to be the boss. Most important, the goal of this campaign is not simply to create thirty days of social media activity. Social media should be the doorway. The artist's own website, email list, store, fan community, and permission-based fan system should be the destination. A like is nice. A direct relationship is better. A view may disappear into a platform report. An email signup, direct purchase, ticket buyer, Fan Passport follow, or membership can become part of the artist's real business. That is how one song starts doing more than collecting streams. It begins building the music industry middle class. http://www.makingascene.org

The obsession with content creation and a marketing-first emphasis as an artist creates pressure and an incentive structure that leads artists away from themselves.Birocratic reminds us of the truth: There is no better marketing plan than making good music. Nothing will endear you to potential fans more than that. It's so simple and easy to forget this in the noisy world of content. If art is the artist's product, then the rule of marketing is no different than for any other business. If the product isn't of quality, no amount of marketing will develop a real relationship. Best case scenario, you sell one product, get one listen. That person's trust is lost forever because of a hollow promise.Music is not content. Content is a container for your music. If you want to be an artist, yes you have to share your music, but you do not have to become a content creator. In the same way your art develops over time, so will the way that you deliver it.If you want to make music privately, you are not any less of an artist. If you want to be a content creator who makes music, go right ahead. If you want to build an audience, how will anyone discover your music if it isn't consistently shared? If you want to be an artist, put your message in a bottle and send it out to sea. Over and over again. Learn the Coaching Skill That Saved My Life: Watch HERE We're exactly halfway through 2026 — the perfect time for a farm marketing reset. If the plan you made in January got buried under spring chores, a sick kid, or cows on the loose, this is your halftime huddle. To finish the year profitable, you'll do three things: choose one product to focus your marketing on, plan one focused five-day sales launch, and build your email list with a simple lead-magnet QR code — and underneath each one, Charlotte teaches the mindset skill that actually makes it happen. In this episode: Why being behind at the halfway mark isn't a verdict — and how to use July to reset on purpose The "rule of one": how to choose the single product that will make you the most money this season (and why seven products is really 50+ jobs run by one exhausted farmer) How to plan one focused five-day sales launch — the single biggest needle-mover Charlotte teaches Why your email-list window is wide open right now, and the simple QR-code + lead-magnet setup that turns summer foot traffic into customers for life The mindset coaching skills underneath each move: choosing and staying focused, feeling discomfort without distracting yourself, and asking without apologizing You'll also hear: how Sarah sold over $100,000 of beef in five days after years of selling one quarter at a time, and how flower farmer Brooke went from struggling to sell 20 shares a season to selling 90 in a single week. A few lines worth replaying: "Being behind at the halfway mark is not a verdict. It's just numbers." "Diluted focus gives you diluted results and no money, every single time." "The doubt is not data." Resources & next steps:

What if I told you your marketing budget isn't the problem — your tracking is?In this Five Minute Friday, I'm breaking down the three things every orthodontic practice needs to make marketing actually work: a plan, a reliable way to track where patients came from, and a clear understanding of ROI. Too many practices are throwing money at PTAs, community events, online ads, referral gifts, and sponsorships without knowing what's truly producing starts.I'll show you the exact question I ask every new patient, why your TC needs to hear the answer, and how a simple spreadsheet can help you stop guessing and start investing smarter. When you know where your growth is coming from, you can double down on what works, fix what doesn't, and grow your practice with far more confidence.Quotes“You need to have a marketing plan. You need to write things down about how you're going to market.” — Dr. Glenn Krieger“You will not be guessing where you should be spending your money. Ash and Jase are the founders of one of Australia's most popular and worn labels, Sabbi. What started as two broke creatives who couldn't afford the clothes they wanted to wear has now become a brand in hundreds of thousands of wardrobes across the country. And this is the story of what it's taken to get there. If you've ever wondered what it takes to build a recognizable brand from scratch, this episode pulls back the curtain on the unsexy parts no one talks about. From packing orders in their home while juggling parenthood, to moving boxes around just to watch TV at night, to losing $10,000 on their first samples that went straight to the dump… Ash and Jase share it all. This conversation is raw and deeply inspiring. We talk about the moment that set them into a fast moving whirlwind of growth and momentum where everything changed overnight, the mental load of juggling business and a family, how they navigate online criticism and cancel culture, and the mindset that's kept them going when most people would have quit. If you've ever whispered to the universe, "pls can I just have… a handful of dreamy, aligned enquiries this week?" and then refreshed your Instagram insights like it's the stock market… this episode is for you. Because wellness business owners are a very specific breed. We're intuitive. We're values-led. We work with real humans who are going through real stuff. And because of that, a lot of the generic marketing advice out there makes us recoil. It feels forced. Performative. A bit… "hi hun, wanna triple your income in 7 days?" (Absolutely not.) So instead, we swing the other way. We post when we feel inspired. We wait for the nudge. We follow the vibe. And we cross our fingers that this reel, this email, this post will be the one that magically brings the enquiries in. That's what I'm calling hope-based marketing. It looks aligned, but it creates chaos. It keeps you in reactive mode. It makes you panic when engagement dips and you feel like you've "lost your spark." It's the marketing equivalent of trying to drive a car by manifesting petrol. In this episode, I'm breaking down what it looks like to move out of hope and into something calmer, steadier, and far more predictable without turning into a sales robot. We talk about why engagement is not a reliable indicator of business growth (your nervous system thinks it is, but it isn't). Why you're probably making decisions way too quickly based on 24-hour metrics. Why "organic only" can become a weird badge of honour that quietly keeps you stuck. And why the goal isn't to post more, grind harder, or blame the algorithm… it's to build systems that keep your business ticking along even when life is doing what life does best: chucking nonsense at you at the worst possible time. You'll also hear me share how I want you to think more like a CEO, less like a stressed-out practitioner who's constantly trying to fix the month in real time. We go into what strategic marketing actually looks like in practice: planning in cycles, warming your audience up properly, using data that matters (enquiries, clicks, conversions… not "someone I went to school with saved my post"), and focusing on calm growth that doesn't fry your brain. Basically: you can absolutely have alignment and strategy. You don't have to choose. And if you've ever felt like you're "doing all the things" but it still feels unstable, this will likely be the episode that makes something click. The Calm Ads Method The Simple £5 – £10 a Day Strategy to Get More Enquiries in Your Wellness Business If you've ever boosted a post, spent £30… and got two likes and your auntie commenting "Love this!" - this is for you. If you're brilliant at what you do but tired of relying on organic reach, algorithm moods, and hope-based marketing… This free masterclass will show you how to run simple, strategic ads that feel calm, ethical and actually lead to enquiries - without huge budgets or tech overwhelm. Fast growth is something we're genuinely excited about on our ranch. This winter, a stretch of unusually mild weather reduced maintenance energy demands, allowing our weaned goat kids to put more of what they were eating toward growth instead of staying warm. As a result, they're running 15–20 pounds ahead of where we'd normally expect them to be this time of year. In this episode, I walk through how that weather-driven growth changed our winter feeding plan. I explain how we recalculated hay needs, what a 30–44% increase in feed demand looks like in real terms, and how we adjusted our marketing plan to match what the goats were actually doing instead of forcing the original timeline. I share what we noticed early, how we ran the feed calculations, and why additional weight matters so much during winter feeding. I break down dry matter versus as-fed hay, how waste factors into real-world feeding systems, and why those details add up quickly when you're feeding a large group of goats. You'll also hear how we evaluated our options, why buying more hay didn't pencil out, and why selling earlier than planned was the most responsible decision given our feed inventory and the current market. This episode is a real ranch example of adjusting plans early, before a good situation turns into a costly one. If you're feeding goats through winter and trying to balance growth, hay supply, and marketing decisions, this episode will help you think through those trade-offs with clarity instead of guesswork. In This Episode, I Cover: A ranch update and how winter breeding conditions affect management decisions How mild winter weather shifted energy use and increased growth in weaned goat kids Why faster growth directly increases winter feed requirements Calculating feed intake based on body weight Converting dry matter intake to as-fed hay requirements Accounting for hay waste in winter feeding systems How increased growth led to a 30–44% increase in hay consumption Evaluating winter feeding options: buy more hay or sell early Why return on investment matters when feed requirements increase How predictable goat markets factor into winter marketing plans When adjusting a plan early is better than sticking to the original one Key Takeaways: Mild winter weather can significantly increase growth rates in young goats Faster growth increases winter feed needs more than most people expect Winter feeding decisions should be based on math, not assumptions Hay inventory creates real limits on how long animals can be retained Selling early can be a proactive, responsible management decision Mentioned Episodes: 28 | Winter Feed for Livestock: Calculate How Much Hay You Need and a Strategy to Save Money Related Episodes: 35 | Winter Hay Feeding Evaluation: Meeting Nutritional Requirements of Goats and Reducing Hay Waste 78 | Winter Grazing: Low Cost, Regenerative Strategies for Goats and Other Livestock 71 | Livestock Management Decisions and Why We Are Selling Part of Our Goat Herd All the Best, Millie Resources & Links: Leave a review on Apple Podcasts + grab the free Kidding Due Date Chart: https://www.getgoatwise.com/kidding-chart Get Dry Creek meat: https://drycreekheritagemeats.com Join my insider email list: https://www.getgoatwise.com/insider Join the free community: https://www.getgoatwise.com/community Email me: millie@drycreekpastures.com See ranch life on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/drycreekpastures/ Disclaimer: The information shared in this episode is for educational purposes only and should not be considered veterinary advice. FREE Master Class: The Farm Marketing Fix Sign Up HERE Are you running your farm business without knowing your numbers? In this episode, we dive into the essential metrics that separate profitable farms from struggling ones—and why tracking them is non-negotiable for growth. This is part three of the year-end business planning series designed to help direct-to-consumer farmers build their 2026 marketing plan. The core message: what you don't track, you can't improve. Key numbers covered in this episode: Weekly customer count: How many customers do you serve per week across all sales channels (farm store, farmers market, online, deliveries)? Customer growth: How many new customers did you gain this year compared to last? Email list size: Your subscriber count one year ago versus today—and why email marketing software is legally required for sales emails Email metrics: Open rates, click rates, and why you shouldn't judge these numbers negatively Ad returns: If you're running Facebook or Instagram ads, what's your dollar return on investment? Gross sales and expenses: Total farm income minus all costs, including what you pay yourself The episode also addresses common mindset blocks around tracking numbers and emphasizes that building a profitable farm requires equal time on business skills as on physical farm work. Small-acreage farmers can absolutely achieve strong profits when they master these fundamentals. A free two-day training called "The Farm Marketing Fix" is coming January 19-20, with live feedback on marketing materials and strategies for profitability. Click HERE and Let's Meet!
