If you've ever whispered to the universe, "pls can I just have… a handful of dreamy, aligned enquiries this week?" and then refreshed your Instagram insights like it's the stock market… this episode is for you. Because wellness business owners are a very specific breed. We're intuitive. We're values-led. We work with real humans who are going through real stuff. And because of that, a lot of the generic marketing advice out there makes us recoil. It feels forced. Performative. A bit… "hi hun, wanna triple your income in 7 days?" (Absolutely not.) So instead, we swing the other way. We post when we feel inspired. We wait for the nudge. We follow the vibe. And we cross our fingers that this reel, this email, this post will be the one that magically brings the enquiries in. That's what I'm calling hope-based marketing. It looks aligned, but it creates chaos. It keeps you in reactive mode. It makes you panic when engagement dips and you feel like you've "lost your spark." It's the marketing equivalent of trying to drive a car by manifesting petrol. In this episode, I'm breaking down what it looks like to move out of hope and into something calmer, steadier, and far more predictable without turning into a sales robot. We talk about why engagement is not a reliable indicator of business growth (your nervous system thinks it is, but it isn't). Why you're probably making decisions way too quickly based on 24-hour metrics. Why "organic only" can become a weird badge of honour that quietly keeps you stuck. And why the goal isn't to post more, grind harder, or blame the algorithm… it's to build systems that keep your business ticking along even when life is doing what life does best: chucking nonsense at you at the worst possible time. You'll also hear me share how I want you to think more like a CEO, less like a stressed-out practitioner who's constantly trying to fix the month in real time. We go into what strategic marketing actually looks like in practice: planning in cycles, warming your audience up properly, using data that matters (enquiries, clicks, conversions… not "someone I went to school with saved my post"), and focusing on calm growth that doesn't fry your brain. Basically: you can absolutely have alignment and strategy. You don't have to choose. And if you've ever felt like you're "doing all the things" but it still feels unstable, this will likely be the episode that makes something click. The Calm Ads Method The Simple £5 – £10 a Day Strategy to Get More Enquiries in Your Wellness Business If you've ever boosted a post, spent £30… and got two likes and your auntie commenting "Love this!" - this is for you. If you're brilliant at what you do but tired of relying on organic reach, algorithm moods, and hope-based marketing… This free masterclass will show you how to run simple, strategic ads that feel calm, ethical and actually lead to enquiries - without huge budgets or tech overwhelm. Most businesses think a video marketing plan is a 12-month content calendar. IT IS NOT. A real video marketing plan is about removing friction in your business, shortening sales cycles, and helping prospects decide faster. In this episode, Chris Schwager breaks down what a strategic video marketing plan actually looks like and why most businesses confuse brainstorming with strategy. If you are using video for business but still repeating the same conversations, answering the same objections, or struggling with clarity, your video marketing strategy may be missing the point. Two weeks ago, I missed a podcast episode, my email newsletter, and my social media posts. For the first time in years. And I felt awful about it. In this episode, I'm talking about what happens when life interrupts your marketing rhythm. The guilt. The doubt gremlin. The pressure we put on ourselves to always show up perfectly. And most importantly, what to actually do when you're ready to come back. This isn't about hustle. It's about capacity. It's about being human. And it's about rebuilding momentum in a way that feels doable. In this episode of the podcast, I talk about: Why falling off rhythm is part of the process How to reboot your content without shame Smart ways to repurpose instead of starting from scratch Why conversation can replace content How to choose one platform when you're overwhelmed What not to do when you're re-emerging …And More! Fast growth is something we're genuinely excited about on our ranch. This winter, a stretch of unusually mild weather reduced maintenance energy demands, allowing our weaned goat kids to put more of what they were eating toward growth instead of staying warm. As a result, they're running 15–20 pounds ahead of where we'd normally expect them to be this time of year. In this episode, I walk through how that weather-driven growth changed our winter feeding plan. I explain how we recalculated hay needs, what a 30–44% increase in feed demand looks like in real terms, and how we adjusted our marketing plan to match what the goats were actually doing instead of forcing the original timeline. I share what we noticed early, how we ran the feed calculations, and why additional weight matters so much during winter feeding. I break down dry matter versus as-fed hay, how waste factors into real-world feeding systems, and why those details add up quickly when you're feeding a large group of goats. You'll also hear how we evaluated our options, why buying more hay didn't pencil out, and why selling earlier than planned was the most responsible decision given our feed inventory and the current market. This episode is a real ranch example of adjusting plans early, before a good situation turns into a costly one. If you're feeding goats through winter and trying to balance growth, hay supply, and marketing decisions, this episode will help you think through those trade-offs with clarity instead of guesswork. In This Episode, I Cover: A ranch update and how winter breeding conditions affect management decisions How mild winter weather shifted energy use and increased growth in weaned goat kids Why faster growth directly increases winter feed requirements Calculating feed intake based on body weight Converting dry matter intake to as-fed hay requirements Accounting for hay waste in winter feeding systems How increased growth led to a 30–44% increase in hay consumption Evaluating winter feeding options: buy more hay or sell early Why return on investment matters when feed requirements increase How predictable goat markets factor into winter marketing plans When adjusting a plan early is better than sticking to the original one Key Takeaways: Mild winter weather can significantly increase growth rates in young goats Faster growth increases winter feed needs more than most people expect Winter feeding decisions should be based on math, not assumptions Hay inventory creates real limits on how long animals can be retained Selling early can be a proactive, responsible management decision Mentioned Episodes: 28 | Winter Feed for Livestock: Calculate How Much Hay You Need and a Strategy to Save Money Related Episodes: 35 | Winter Hay Feeding Evaluation: Meeting Nutritional Requirements of Goats and Reducing Hay Waste 78 | Winter Grazing: Low Cost, Regenerative Strategies for Goats and Other Livestock 71 | Livestock Management Decisions and Why We Are Selling Part of Our Goat Herd All the Best, Millie Resources & Links: Leave a review on Apple Podcasts + grab the free Kidding Due Date Chart: https://www.getgoatwise.com/kidding-chart Get Dry Creek meat: https://drycreekheritagemeats.com Join my insider email list: https://www.getgoatwise.com/insider Join the free community: https://www.getgoatwise.com/community Email me: millie@drycreekpastures.com See ranch life on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/drycreekpastures/ Disclaimer: The information shared in this episode is for educational purposes only and should not be considered veterinary advice. FREE Master Class: The Farm Marketing Fix Sign Up HERE Are you running your farm business without knowing your numbers? In this episode, we dive into the essential metrics that separate profitable farms from struggling ones—and why tracking them is non-negotiable for growth. This is part three of the year-end business planning series designed to help direct-to-consumer farmers build their 2026 marketing plan. The core message: what you don't track, you can't improve. Key numbers covered in this episode: Weekly customer count: How many customers do you serve per week across all sales channels (farm store, farmers market, online, deliveries)? Customer growth: How many new customers did you gain this year compared to last? Email list size: Your subscriber count one year ago versus today—and why email marketing software is legally required for sales emails Email metrics: Open rates, click rates, and why you shouldn't judge these numbers negatively Ad returns: If you're running Facebook or Instagram ads, what's your dollar return on investment? Gross sales and expenses: Total farm income minus all costs, including what you pay yourself The episode also addresses common mindset blocks around tracking numbers and emphasizes that building a profitable farm requires equal time on business skills as on physical farm work. Small-acreage farmers can absolutely achieve strong profits when they master these fundamentals. A free two-day training called "The Farm Marketing Fix" is coming January 19-20, with live feedback on marketing materials and strategies for profitability. Click HERE and Let's Meet! 19 Minutes PodcastIn this episode of The Ag View Pitch, we sit down with Jarod Creed to break down why today's grain markets are forcing farmers to rethink everything they know about marketing. Corn demand remains historically strong, soybeans are shifting toward domestic crush, and South American weather risks loom in the background, but the real story is how farm programs, crop insurance, and recent policy changes have completely altered the revenue equation. We dive into why a board rally can actually reduce total farm revenue, how ARC and PLC payments factor into real-world marketing decisions, and why the biggest risk for many producers right now is not lower prices, but higher ones. This conversation also tackles basis management, cash flow pressures, lender conversations, and why volatility, not straight-line rallies, may be the most profitable environment for farmers over the next 18–24 months.

We're in the first week of December now. Which means you've got roughly 14 days of meaningful marketing time before most of your customers mentally check out for the holidays — and before your shipping cut-off dates make the whole thing a bit irrelevant anyway. Now, I know what you might be feeling right now. It's that familiar end-of-year cocktail of exhaustion, overwhelm, and a nagging sense that you should be doing more. Your inbox is full of articles telling you about the 47 things you absolutely must do before Christmas. Your competitors seem to have their act together with perfectly coordinated campaigns. And you're sitting there thinking, "Is it too late? Have I missed the boat?" Here's what I want you to hear: No, you haven't missed the boat. But you also don't have time to build a new boat from scratch. The next two weeks are about strategic triage — knowing exactly where to put your energy for maximum impact, and giving yourself full permission to let go of everything else. Because here's the uncomfortable truth that most marketing advice won't tell you: trying to do everything in the next 14 days is actually worse than doing three things really well. Scattered effort produces scattered results. Focused effort? That's where the magic happens. So today, I'm going to walk you through exactly what to prioritise right now — and crucially, what to consciously deprioritise so you can finish the year strong without completely burning yourself out. Quick note – if you want a visual version of what I'm covering today, I've put together a 14-Day Priority Planner that maps out exactly what to focus on each day between now and your shipping cut-off. You can grab that at productpreneurmarketing.com/14dayplan. It's completely free, and it'll help you implement what we're talking about today without having to take a million notes.
