In this episode, Sarah Marie and Kelly take on the 5-minute makeup challenge, breaking down their go-to products and techniques for those mornings when you're racing against the clock. Sarah Marie swears by her powder-heavy approach (complete with products she adorably keeps in their original boxes), while Kelly's "just-enough-to-not-terrify-your-ex" strategy involves slapping on cream sticks with carefree confidence. We teach you how to level up your 5-minute routine, and Sarah Marie flexes her pro MUA credentials, casually revealing she could overhaul a bride’s entire glam between “I do” and entrée — a claim Kelly may have side-eyed at first, but quickly came to admire. For today's Tried & Tested, Sarah Marie Fahd and Liv James get their hands dirty with two viral beauty hacks that have been doing the rounds on TikTok. Makeup novice Liv (who admits she gets "a bit sweaty" at the thought of applying eyeshadow) bravely tackles the cotton pad eyeshadow hack in front of professional makeup artist Sarah Marie. Watch as she strategically folds a regular cotton pad to create what promises to be the perfect winged shadow guide - a technique Sarah Marie surprisingly reveals she's secretly used on clients for over 15 years. Meanwhile, Sarah Marie experiments with a TikTok-trending white concealer technique that's giving major 2016 vibes, where she applies stark white product under her eyes before layering foundation on top - a complete reversal of traditional makeup application order. Does this unusual method deliver that bright-eyed, bushy-tailed look we're all desperately chasing, or is it just another social media fantasy? Tune in to discover which technique earns holy grail status and which one gets relegated to the beauty bin! In this episode, Kelly is joined by social media superstar Indy Clinton for a raw, unfiltered chat about online trolling and beauty transformations, plus her new collaboration with haircare brand Bouf. Indy opens up about the bizarre reality of facing criticism over her recent rhinoplasty (seriously, are we still judging women's personal choices?!) and shares the hilarious truth behind accidentally leaking TBH Skincare's unreleased product after a few too many at a Taylor Swift concert. Between confessing her phobia of greasy hair and admitting to occasionally sleeping in makeup, Indy proves she's still a refreshingly relatable queen. In an episode full of laugh-out-loud moments and serious truth bombs, Kelly and Indy tackle everything from society's impossible standards for mothers to the joy of fake freckles gone wrong. Listen to the end for Indy's candid take on beauty trends she can't stand and her hilariously minimal skincare routine ("What even is this K-beauty product my friend gave me?"). Enjoy Youbies! You might know Poh Ling Yeow as an artist, a chef and a regular fixture on television ever since she was first introduced to Australia on MasterChef. But that’s just the public side of Poh. The version you see is only part of her truth; behind it lies a layered, often painful journey. In this conversation Poh opens up about her years spent in the church before walking away from it, which left her untangling years of belief and identity. She shares the profound grief she has experienced with the loss of her mother, and as well as the heartbreak of two marriage breakdowns and how those moments led to loneliness, questioning and rebuilding. But through it all, she’s discovered something quite extraordinary: an ability to find beauty in the sorrow, light in the mess, and humour in the most unexpected places. This is a conversation about identity, resilience, creativity, and what it means to truly move on and start over. You can watch Poh on this season of MasterChef on Network 10 and you can follow her here: https://www.instagram.com/pohlingyeow/?hl=en THE END BITS: Listen to more No Filter interviews here and follow us on Instagram here. This week, Leigh and Kelly investigate the ice-cold world of TikTok facial dunking - does freezing your face actually work? The science is limited, but the temporary "snatched" effect might be worth it after a few vinos. Skip the full plunge and try their practical alternatives instead. Plus, as Bella Hadid champions the return of the side part, Leigh and Kelly reveal which 2025 trends she's selectively ignoring. Kelly embraces mulberry tones this season, while Leigh focuses on skincare innovations rather than fleeting aesthetics. In this weeks beauty bonus, Leigh and Kelly are back answering your wildest questions! Like whether you can slap your fancy face serum onto your scalp for longer, lusher locks (spoiler: maybe don’t) and what to do when your retinol is turning your face into a flakey tomato. There’s also a fresh batch of hacks straight from the beauty trenches – Kelly’s got a new use for your lip balm that involves… your bra (yes, we’re serious), and Leigh’s blow-drying her scalp in public like it’s totally normal behaviour. Celebrities are masters at keeping us guessing – private chefs, secret trainers, and now the latest beauty investment they're tight-lipped about? Those suspiciously "natural" facelifts sporting many A-list faces! Kelly chats with plastic surgeon Dr. Catherine Boorer about these $45K + procedures, including the shocking truth about recovery time (hint: it's not the weekend getaway celebrities make it seem!). Plus, Dr Boorer shares her science-backed skincare routine that doesn't require a Hollywood budget, and which trendy products are actually worth investing in versus what's just expensive moisturiser. Whether you're just nosy about what the rich and famous are doing to their faces or considering options for yourself, this episode cuts through the Hollywood smoke and mirrors with some seriously refreshing honesty. David Holmes is the Harry Potter you’ve never heard of. That’s because he was Daniel Radcliffe’s stunt double. At just 25 years old, David Holmes was living the dream. He was working on the biggest film franchise in the world, out partying, and fully immersed in a life of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. A former gymnast turned stuntman, he was in all the Harry Potter films—growing up alongside the cast, almost like a big brother to a group of pre-teens who would go on to become global stars. But while rehearsing a stunt for the final Harry Potter film—a move he’d done many times before—something went terribly wrong. David was flung into a wall and broke his neck. He now refers to his injury as “the gift that keeps on taking.” Over 15 years later, David has the use of only one arm. But as you’ll hear in this conversation, he doesn’t see himself as a victim. Life, he says, guarantees nothing. It’s what you do with what you’ve got that counts. And David is doing a lot. From writing a novel to producing a documentary with his friend Daniel Radcliffe, hosting a podcast, advocating for disability rights—and yes, having the best sex of his life. You can follow David and find his book, The Boy Who Lived, here: https://www.instagram.com/davidholmes83/?hl=en If this conversation brought up any hard feelings for you - please seek help. The Otto Legacy. An Award Winning Documentary. High End Fashion. Gracie Otto is one of the Ottos—you know, Barry and Miranda Otto, Australian cinematic royalty. But she has carved out her own space in the industry. She’s the director behind The Other Guy, Deadloch, The Artful Dodger, and Heartbreak High. However, it’s her most recent film, the AACTA-winning documentary Otto by Otto, that pulls back the curtain on the Otto family. What began as a project documenting her father, Barry, as he prepared to premiere a one-man show became something far more personal. Through her lens, Gracie realised she was capturing the unfolding reality of her dad’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis. What You’ll Hear: How Otto by Otto became a heartbreaking portrait of her father, Barry Otto The highs and lows of a career in Australian film and theatre The challenge of documenting a loved one’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis in real time How and why she never stops working THE END BITS: You can watch Otto By Otto on Stan. Brooke Boney had one of the best gigs in the world. For years, we woke up with her on morning TV. It was a job that changed her life—until one morning, she made a decision that would change her life again. She announced, live on air, that she was done. Not just with breakfast television, but with Australia. She was heading overseas to study at Oxford. She’s back in Australia now - wiser, thoughtful, and unsure of what her next move will be. She’s collected her wisdom in a new book, All Of It, and that pretty much sums up this special episode of No Filter. In this conversation, you’ll hear Kate & Brooke discuss: Fame & Stalkers (yes, plural) Why Brooke loves sport so much Family, Fertility, and Love Being the first Indigenous woman on commercial TV So much more… You can find Brooke’s book, All Of It, here:https://www.allenandunwin.com/browse/book/Brooke-Boney-All-of-It-9781761068003 You can follow Brooke on Instagram, here: https://www.instagram.com/boneybrooke/ THE END BITS: Listen to more No Filter interviews here and follow us on Instagram here. [Part 1 of 2] At fourteen years old, Christian Picciolini was lost, confused and looking for guidance. If he’d been approached by a footy coach or a skateboarder - he reckons he would have followed their lead. But instead, he was recruited by the leader of the notorious Chicago area skinheads, and found himself deeply entwined in a violent, racist and dangerous neo-nazi hate group. Today, however, Christian spends every day of his life trying to undo the harm he caused, and to help other young people disengage from hate groups. So how did Christian go from being the lead propagandist for an extremist organisation to actively working to bring them down? It’s a story you’ll have to hear to believe - and it’s a story that’s more important today than ever before. Listen to Part 2 of this conversation here. Outlouders, we have quite the little treat for your Sunday Special today. It’s been 18 months since Evelyn Jones burst onto our screens in Strife—fictional, yes, but her story couldn’t feel more real to the women who brought her to life. In this special episode of No Filter, host Jessie Stephens— one of Strife's writers and an Executive Editor on Mamamia—is joined by Mia Freedman, Asher Keddie (who plays Evelyn) and Bruna Papandrea (Executive Producer) to reflect on Season 1 and to give us a sneak peek at what’s to come in Season 2. Mia's memoir Work, Strife, Balance inspired the hit Binge series and together, these powerhouse creatives, open up about what it means to be a woman in the media and entertainment industry today—the competition, the comparisons, the fear of cancellation, and the constant balancing act between public and private life. And of course, they talk about ambition: what it costs, why it matters, and how the world still struggles when women dare to want more. Season 2 of Strife is streaming on Binge now. Interrupting a lengthy run, our usual kick-off feature has been temporarily suspended: No Medicare Advantage Minute article warning new Medicare eligibles about the dangers of MA plans. In our other regular segment we learn how Medicare might cover Gym memberships and fitness programs. Possibly the shortest segment in "Your Medicare Benefits 2024" history! In Iowa news, a nurse has been sentenced to a stretch in the Big House for allowing a patient under her care to die of neglect. This episode reminded me of those I have helped escape MA plans after they were forced to endure substandard rehab facilities while recovering from surgical procedures. With a Medicare supplement plan, you have complete freedom of choice as to where you seek treatment! I go through a list of seven changes in Medicare for 2025. Georgia Love — and yes, that is her real name — has always had a lot of love to give. Almost a decade ago, she stepped onto our screens as The Bachelorette, searching for just that: love. She found it, too, forming a relationship in the public eye that captured hearts around the country. But now, almost ten years on, that same relationship is ending — also in full view of the public. Georgia is no stranger to loss — both the kind she has chosen to share with the world, and the kind she's fought fiercely to keep private. In this conversation, you'll hear: Georgia discuss losing her mum just days after her Bachelorette finale aired The very public cancellation she endured that still stings... Stepping away from her career, a heartbreaking friendship breakup, and the ways in which she's been changed by public scrutiny. And, of course, her very recent separation from her husband, and how she's picking up the pieces. Georgia has weathered more storms than most. Each time, she's picked herself up, rebuilt her life, and somehow stayed open-hearted. Resilient, vulnerable, and tougher than she often gets credit for, Georgia Love is a woman who has lived many lives in one. You can follow Georgia Love here. You can listen to Georgia's Mamamia Podcast, Everyone Has An Ex, here. THE END BITS: Listen to more No Filter interviews here and follow us on Instagram here. Discover more Mamamia podcasts here. In the last episode of All the Buried Women, co-hosts Beth Allison Barr and Savannah Locke explore the story behind a confidential letter in the SBC'S archives that leads to a pastor's wife named Maria. They also look at the Southern Baptist Convention's decision to expel churches that ordain women, critiquing the rhetoric of unity and biblical authority used to justify the exclusion of women from leadership roles Last, the episode draws on the lost portrait of Saint Fabiola as a symbol of women's enduring resistance, urging listeners to recognize the hidden stories of women who continue to challenge oppressive structures in the church. We reached out to the SBC, Paige Patterson, Darryl Gilyard, Tommy Gilmore, and the Council for National Policy for comment, and did not hear back.
