John 4:26 Jesus said to her, "I who speak to you am He." 27 And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He talked with a woman; yet no one said, "What do You seek?" or, "Why are You talking with her?" 28 The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, 29 "Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?" 30 Then they went out of the city and came to Him. 31 In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, "Rabbi, eat." 32 But He said to them, "I have food to eat of which you do not know." 33 Therefore the disciples said to one another, "Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?" 34 Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. 35 "Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! 36 "And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 "For in this the saying is true: 'One sows and another reaps.' 38 "I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors." 39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, "He told me all that I ever did." 40 So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. 41 And many more believed because of His own word. 42 Then they said to the woman, "Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world." In these verses we will see the Samaritan Woman get saved as she learns that Jesus is the Messiah. The perplexed disciples who after hearing Jesus proclaim to the Woman that He is the Messiah for the first time that we know of, all they can think about is food. Jesus response to their wanting to eat and how He connects doing God's will with Spiritual fulfillment and how to get it. Jesus will also let them know that we don't always get to be the one who leads someone to Christ, but we all participate and sometimes we get to enjoy the fruit of someone else's labor. John will end this section with MANY Samaritans coming to Christ, not because of the signs and wonders many want, but because of the Word of the woman and especially the Word of Christ. Jesus said in Matthew 16:4 "A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah." And He left them and departed. Mark 8:36 "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Have you trusted Him as your Savior? He can Save you if You ask Him based on His death, burial, and resurrection for your sins. Believe in Him for forgiveness of your sins today. “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” -John 8:32 Our mission is to spread the gospel and to go to the least of these with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ; We reach out to those the World has forgotten. hisloveministries.podbean.com
Join us as we explore the profound depths of the Lord's Prayer, where we confront the delicate interplay between our reverence for God and the vulnerability of our needs. Our discourse delves into the transformative shift from 'Your' to 'us,' a reminder of our collective journey in faith and the potency of communal prayer. Through personal stories and theological insight, we illuminate the intricate balance between exalting God's sovereignty and humbly presenting our earthly supplications. Our recent reflections have led us to a greater appreciation of 'Give us this day our daily bread,' a line that echoes the Israelites' daily dependence on manna and God's unwavering provision. The act of forgiveness unfolds before us like a divine tapestry, threaded with the grace freely given through Christ's ultimate sacrifice. As we traverse this landscape, we unearth the misconception that our efforts are the linchpin of forgiveness, revealing instead that it is a gift extending far beyond our human capacity. The liberation found in granting forgiveness—a release from the bonds of resentment—is not a mere transaction but an alignment with the merciful heart of Jesus. This segment leaves us with a renewed spirit, one that is bathed in gratitude for the forgiveness we've already been granted and eager to reflect that grace in our relationships. In the closing moments of our conversation, we cast a spotlight on the Lord's Prayer as a beacon guiding us toward authentic satisfaction in God. This sacred invocation calls us to align our desires with God's will, seeking protection from life's temptations, and reveling in the assurance of His protective embrace against spiritual harm. As we conclude, the recognition of God's eternal kingdom, power, and glory becomes not just words in a prayer, but a lived reality that transforms our everyday existence. These are statements that Jesus made about Himself. And in each of these statements He reveals who is truly is. And what He reveals is both surprising to His audience and encouraging to His followers. In these statements, we see who Jesus is and what it is that He came to accomplish.
Welcome back, friends! Today's Bible verses are Philippians 4:11-12. In these verses, Paul reminds us that contentment doesn't come from material possessions but from the Lord. Whether we have everything or nothing, a full stomach or an empty one, we can learn to be content. It's easy to get caught up in the pursuit of material things, but true fulfillment comes from a relationship with God. This week, let's focus on finding contentment in Him and appreciating the blessings of each moment. Traveling in 2023? Don't break the bank! Mel Schwartz is a psychotherapist, marriage counselor, author, 2xTEDx speaker, podcaster, and leadership consultant. He earned his MSW from Columbia University in NYC and Master of Philosophy from Lancaster University in England.Mel is one of the first contemporary practicing psychotherapists to distill the basic principles of quantum theory into therapeutic approaches, which enable people to overcome their challenges and live to their fullest potential.Mel has enjoyed several defining moments in his life. In mid-life, in business and with two young children, Mel had been living the life he had planned. Yet, he felt a desire for deeper fulfillment, longing for a calling with far deeper purpose. In one of his defining moments, Mel chose to welcome the uncertainty that lay ahead as he embarked on an entirely new path. He closed his business, applied to, and enrolled in graduate school to follow his emerging passion–serving others as a psychotherapist. Mel became excited by new ways of thinking that propelled him to transcend the limiting protocols taught in graduate school. He began to immerse himself in emergent ways of thinking coming from quantum physics, philosophy, and other areas beyond the field of psychology. This evolving perspective enabled him to forge a singular new therapeutic approach from which to assist his clients.Mel's first book, The Art of Intimacy, The Pleasure of Passion, broke new ground in illuminating the path to joyful relationships and has benefitted countless people.Mel is a member of the International Society for Consciousness Studies and has been interviewed extensively on TV, print, radio and podcasts. melschwartz.com/Michael Stone is a spiritual author, mentor, shamanic practitioner, radio host, producer, and trauma integration facilitator who co-creates individual and group environments and experiences that support people in transcending the myth of separation, and experiencing deep and profound interconnection with others and all of life.
