Street Preacher Segment – Summary A group of aggressive street preachers (the type who stand on milk crates with bullhorns and large signs showing aborted fetuses) regularly show up at public events and venues around the area — the Brandon Amphitheater during concerts, restaurant patios in Fondren, etc. — and scream at patrons, calling women whores, Jezebels, drunkards, and telling everyone they're going to hell. After repeated incidents (including at least one preacher getting punched in the face), the city of Brandon passed an ordinance requiring them to preach from a designated protest zone away from the amphitheater entrance. The preachers refused, returned to the entrance, got arrested, and sued, claiming the ordinance violates their First Amendment free-speech and religious-liberty rights. The case worked its way up and is now headed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Host's take (very clearly stated):He is 100% against these preachers and 100% supports the city's restriction.   “This is not legitimate evangelism; this is theater kids putting on a show trying to provoke people into hitting them so they can sue and play victim.”   He compares it to “First Amendment auditors” — attention-seeking grifters, not sincere believers.   Calls what they scream “fighting words” that violate personal space and are designed to start physical confrontations.   “You have the absolute right to your free speech, but you do not have the right to scream it two feet from my family's face while we're trying to eat dinner or enjoy a concert.”   Points out that moving them across the street or to a designated zone (the same way the amphitheater bans firearms for everyone) is a perfectly legal time/place/manner restriction, not censorship.   Says the behavior makes Christians and Christianity look terrible and drives people away from faith rather than bringing anyone closer to God.   “Nobody has ever walked past these guys getting called a whore and thought, ‘You know what? They're right. I'm skipping the concert and going to church Sunday.' Not one single person.” He acknowledged he would fully support the same preachers protesting outside abortion clinics, big-box stores pushing transgender products to kids, or even adult venues doing genuinely harmful things — but screaming insults at random families at a country-music concert or on a restaurant patio crosses the line into pure harassment, not ministry. Bottom line from the host: Their free-speech rights are not being violated; they just lost the right to do it right at the entrance and start fights. He hopes SCOTUS upholds the ordinance.

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark 1,518 executions worldwide in 2024 A report from Amnesty International found there were 1,518 executions around the world last year. That's up 32 percent from 2023. Nations with the most documented executions include Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq.  These numbers do not include executions in China, North Korea, and Vietnam. China is considered to be the world's leading executioner, with potentially thousands of executions last year. All of these countries are ranked on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most difficult to be a Christian.  British city council no longer bans street preachers A local government district in England has backed down from banning street preachers. Back in March, Rushmoor Borough Council sought to criminalize street preaching, praying for people, singing, or handing out Bibles. Local churches, supported by the Christian Legal Centre, opposed the plan. Thankfully, the council backed down.  Jamie Broadey, a local evangelist, said, “Since we found out about the injunction and asked for prayer, we have been contacted by Christians from across the UK. The issue is uniting preachers and Christians and we are prepared to challenge this as far as need be to prevent the Gospel being criminalized.” Acts 5:29 says, “But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: ‘We ought to obey God rather than men.'” $1.2 trillion economic package with Qatar United States President Donald Trump is visiting countries in the Middle East this week. Yesterday, he signed an agreement with Qatar that would generate an economic exchange worth at least $1.2 trillion. This includes an historic sale of Boeing aircraft and GE Aerospace engines to Qatar Airways worth $96 billion.  Trump budget insists on work requirements for Medicaid This week, Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives unveiled the “big, beautiful bill,” as the president calls it, to advance Trump's agenda.  The bill includes tax breaks, spending cuts, and border security.  Notably, the measure would cut $900 billion from Medicaid spending. It would also require many people to prove they are working, volunteering, or pursuing education to be eligible for Medicaid. Listen to comments by House Speaker Mike Johnson. JOHNSON: “We are protecting Medicaid for the people who need and deserve it. This program is an essential lifeline for our most vulnerable Americans: pregnant women, single mothers, low income seniors, the disabled. That's who Medicaid is intended to be for, and that's who we're protecting while we're eliminating fraud, waste and abuse to improve Medicaid. “These are reforms to restore and preserve the system so that it doesn't collapse on itself. That means ensuring illegal aliens don't get coverage meant for Americans in need. It means implementing work requirements to ensure that adults who can work, but refuse to, cannot keep cheating the system. We're going to continue to call this out.” Trump's bill defunds Planned Parenthood The “big, beautiful bill” from Republicans also paves the way for defunding Planned Parenthood. The legislation would bar federal funds from going to prohibited entities that perform abortions in many cases. The measure would also cut taxpayer funding for transgender surgeries for minors.  U.S. drug overdose deaths down Drug overdose deaths in the United States declined last year. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports 80,000 people died from overdoses in 2024. That's down 27 percent from 2023. It's the largest drop in overdose deaths on record. However, overdose deaths are still higher now than they were before the COVID-19 pandemic.  Inflation down and egg prices down Annual inflation was lower than expected last month. The consumer price index rose 0.2 percent in April. That put the 12-month inflation rate at 2.3 percent. Inflation is now the lowest it's been since 2021. Notably, egg prices fell by over 12 percent. However, they're still up about 50 percent compared to a year ago. Worldwide Bible engagement update And finally, the American Bible Society released the second chapter of its State of the Bible USA 2025 report.  The chapter looks at Bible engagement around the world.  People are most actively engaged and committed to the Bible in areas that are majority Christian like Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa.  Interestingly, people are the most receptive to new ideas and other religions in Muslim-majority areas like North Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia.  The greatest indifference to the Bible is found in the secular west and certain majority-Christian areas like the U.S., Western Europe, Russia, and Eastern Europe.  Of countries in the secular West, the U.S. had the highest rates of Bible usage and church attendance.  Isaiah 45:22 says, “Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the Earth! People both have the ability to choose what beliefs they strengthen, and are ultimately not in charge of the moment one belief wins out against others. That's why it's always dangerous to hold harmful beliefs, even if you don't act on them. 18:13 Vi has brought an old journal that they wrote almost a decade ago. “The Quest for God” laid out how 20-year-old Vi was struggling with belief, parsing apart what was true and untrue about what they'd been told, and trying to figure out what next steps were. A raw, real moment that hopefully resonated with others. 25:44 This caller is having trouble with his family after coming out as an atheist. They are telling him he's broken, they are unfollowing him on social media, and generally making him feel unwelcome. They also happen to be in an MLM, which makes things even worse! Vi gives this caller permission to kick these folks out on their ear: “Jesus said to avoid you.” 38:16Now that atheists are growing as a demographic in the US, what should we be focusing on to make sure we aren't repeating the problems we are seeing with a Christian majority? Repeat caller Mark is wondering what next steps are, and Vi says something shocking: We need to stop talking about religion. 55:53This caller points out that God is easy to believe in because the idea of God is so baked into our culture. Vi agrees: this is why apologetics work. You have to believe in God already in order to be convinced by any of the major arguments for God. We need to eradicate the idea of a maximally great God before we can truly be free. 1:07:04What do you say to someone who is convinced that God is punishing them? Vi points out that it's actually scarier to imagine that things happen for no reason than to imagine a god is punishing you. At least you're still kind of the main character, and not just an incidental casualty of the universe. Also, landlords suck. 1:15:30 We talked about some atheists having trouble with their families this episode, but isn't that exactly what Jesus said to do? Didn't he tell Christians to desert their families, even end things violently, in order to follow him? Vi once again says “Yes” and “No.” If we're looking at the historical context of Jesus's words, he's actually talking about a political rebellion! 1:22:16 Repeat caller Chris asks how to deal with the street preachers that he's seeing everywhere. He's tried reasoning with them and he never makes any progress! Ordained minister Dennis Hall and George Whirley, Pastor of New Creations Restoration Church and prison ministry in Indianapolis, IN discuss the negative attitudes toward street preachers. Even Church was surprised. Therefore Church not involved. Only tech working was _______ Now back on Space station K-Run. Back on our ship. We get a message from Ambassador Griffin of War-Zod. He has a mission for us. He used to be the Governor of Turn-Out. Used to be a decent, shrewd politician.  ... He has to play nice with the Church. He has made clear that we have to avoid causing any trouble or interference with the Church. He has lunch with the Priest every day – do not disturb! He has a plan. He gives us information. Ultimately he wants the Church to return to the secular nation it was, with no Church, but he has to be strategic and diplomatic about it. Said we just got intel on some artefacts the church wants. Order of the Ancient Light – science division of the church of the illumination. They are after particular Pre-Fall equipment. They think it might be able to advance some of their tech significantly. Which is a concern, because their tech is already considerable – they are the ones with the Paladin. Normally the Order of the Righteous Light is what we face, like Street Preachers. Their tech is average. Rpg Begins: Preamble: Intel op says the only thing we need to do is connect the two together. The mission is we’re supposed to go to the moon of Nav-Luna. Confed has various planets, one is a gas giant, which has inhabited moons, 3 moons, one is a massive agricultural moon “Nav-Lec” terraformed to be the performed crop, some folks on this moon discovered space travel faster than the others and migrated to another moon. This other moon is a massive forest “Nav Tar”, with trees shaped like mushrooms. - Arkady gets the giggles - These folks never left a feudal system. They are technically allowed to vote as they are part of the Confederation, but the lords never let go of power. This is the 1%, the richest people in the Confederation. Gravity is light, oxygen is low, expensive to live there. Mansions are in the centre of a crater in the centre of the moon, giving the impression they rule all. Hence why they enjoy living there. Their serfs live on one of the other two moons doing all the work. Not technically slaves, but it is indentured servitude and still legal. Can move to the moons if you pay your taxes, but be careful of not getting into major debt with the lords or you will be trapped. Ambassador Griffin wants us to go to a party to one of these mansions, the Fenters. The eldest Fenter daughter may have been one of Terry’s previous clients. Not entirely sure, she could have gone by an alias. Fenters don’t have actual nobility but they are ambitious and want to climb. i.e. many bodies and strategic marriages. The sale and owing of Pre-Fall equipment is illegal in the Confederation. They should be in the possession of Jhodian Record Keepers for assessment and certification, and vertification of no A.I. The Turbo Weasel slips into a loophole because he is slightly sentient. Fenters have an auction going. Character discussion: Mama Bear wants to hide knives in her hair. They want the Eye of Neven (necklace with a Gem in the centre from a pre-fall device of unknown origin) to touch the Alien Cube (purpose unknown, from now extinct species Mechnar). We don’t know how long they have to touch, but the idea is they will self destruct. Eye of Neven $23 million. Alien Cube $10.7 million. Mamma Bear has concerns... Potential of self-harm being too close from self-destruction. Potential of starting a war. Characters brainstorm ideas for attaching this mission. We have invites to the party arranged by the Ambassador. Closed auction. No names. Underground style auction. Lava asks what we can do to blend in with the nobility on Nav-Luna. Nobility all know each other but no cross connections across extended family. The location of the auction is in a medium sized crater (Fenter mansion). Mamma Bear suggests being the Matron of a big family with the reputation as a retired war hero. She is hiring Terry as her escort, and Dave is the personal security body guard. Atrium is her artefact advisor/historical curator. Lava is her personal assistance, and Arkady is her niece and ward. Mamma Bear starts building a dossier. Arkady was getting into trouble with the servants and serfs, and is under Mamma Bear’s guidance to get her back in line. Can the Ambassador seed rumours about an off-worlder up and coming family attending the auction/party. Lava asks if there are any outstanding bounties getting picked up by security or scanners. No, our record has been completely cleared. Dave has received a transmission that the ThunderClan (his clan back on War med) is in decline. At one point the ThunderClan had possession of the space port, but no longer. Landing on the planet (War-Med?) is going to be difficult and will have to pay the port person in charge to avoid shooting him down. The crew will need to go shopping and get some party outfits to blend in. Atrium has an idea for how to explain the Matron’s interest in the painting, the item with the lowest starting big on the list. Is there information hidden beneath the top layer of acrylic paint? Or Lava suggest is Mamma Bear just a bit insensible after getting knocked on the head one too many times during the many wars she has fought. Terry has a belated backstory – he has been training with his dad Dave in hand to hand combat. Lava working on her Tengu operation skills, training with mamma bear. Picking up her mech skills and her language. Mamma bear has been putting her through set drills, learning to get into the Tengu quickly and be ready for one action. Arkady has learned repair skills.

This message was preached at New Testament Christian Fellowship in Conover, NC on August 30, 2015. The particular focus of this study is the testimony of Christ’s two special witnesses, street preachers, as revealed in Revelation 11:3-4. This is cross-referenced with the prophetic visions of Zechariah, visions that illuminate the Messianic hope and include the two olive trees of Zechariah 4.

Every major city has their street preachers with their pamphlets and placards warning sinners that Hell is real and judgement is coming.
