Millions of Christians seem content to stay in the "shallow end" of the spiritual pool, never deepening their knowledge and understanding of God and His Word. In this episode, Dr. Jeff unpacks what it means to be rooted and grounded in your faith and relationship with Jesus.
How should Christians think about artificial intelligence—and what does faithfulness look like in a rapidly changing technological world? Mark Vance is joined by Emily Jensen to begin a thoughtful, theological conversation about artificial intelligence. Rather than reacting with fear or hype, they explore how Christians can approach AI with wisdom, discernment, and confidence in God's design for humanity.Mark and Emily discuss why AI raises deeper questions about personhood, creativity, work, and trust, and why technology should be evaluated through a biblical lens rather than cultural panic. This first episode lays the groundwork for understanding AI as a tool—one that can shape society for good or ill depending on how it's formed, governed, and used—and prepares listeners for a deeper ethical and theological discussion in Part 2.Episode Highlights00:29 — Introduction to the conversation on artificial intelligence 01:11 — Why AI raises big questions for Christians 02:20 — Why the AI conversation isn't just about technology, but about humanity 03:37 — Cultural anxiety around AI and where that fear comes from 04:38 — The theological heart of the issue: what makes humans unique 05:50 — Why the world AI is shaping isn't the world Scripture describes 06:51 — Tracing where modern AI ideas come from historically 08:02 — Pulling back the curtain: what AI is (and isn't) actually doing 21:42 — Everyday examples of AI already shaping our lives 22:54 — The real question AI forces us to ask about meaning and value 24:00 — Convenience, automation, and the tradeoffs we rarely notice 25:56 — Why efficiency alone can't define what's good 26:54 — Where Christians should anchor their hope amid technological changeResourcesCornerstone Church Sermons: Listen onlineAsk Mark a Question! In Luke 24, Jesus says that the entire Bible is about him. But just what is the relationship between the Bible as the "word of God" and Jesus as the "Word of God." And are we given any clues along the way that might help us make sense of how we, as Christians, should approach both Jesus and the Bible?

In this episode of the Podcast for Cultural Reformation, Dr. Michael Thiessen and Dr. Joe Boot continue their reflections on Ezra Institute’s time at AmericaFest, focusing on Dr. Boot’s interview with Lucas Miles, Director of TPUSA Faith. They discuss the need for cultural and political engagement to be rooted in the Church and shaped by a robust biblical worldview, emphasizing the Lordship of Christ, the authority of Scripture, and the reality of human depravity. The conversation highlights why worldview formation—not issue-by-issue activism—is essential for lasting cultural reformation, and why unity around primary Christian doctrine matters in this moment. Ultimately, the episode calls Christians to think and live Christianly in every area of life by answering the fundamental question of our time: Who is King?

Read OnlineJesus said to his disciples, “Is a lamp brought in to be placed under a bushel basket or under a bed, and not to be placed on a lampstand? For there is nothing hidden except to be made visible; nothing is secret except to come to light. Anyone who has ears to hear ought to hear.” Mark 4:21–23What guides your life? What influences your decisions? Many are motivated by worldly desires, such as wealth or status. Others seek fulfillment in fleeting pleasures. Some take their inspiration from cultural icons or those deemed successful by society. But as Christians, we are called to draw our inspiration and motivation from one source: the Light of God's Truth. In today's Gospel, the lamp symbolizes Christ Himself, Who illuminates our minds and guides our decisions, just as a lamp lights up a dark room. A lamp cannot fulfill its purpose if it is hidden under a bushel basket or bed. Similarly, Christ must enlighten every aspect of our lives and shine forth in our words, deeds, and witness to others. If the lamp symbolizes Christ, Who is divine Truth, then the lampstand represents the means by which we elevate and share that Truth. Though God, His grace, and the Truth of the Gospel are the light, that light comes to us in various ways. Our first goal as Christians is to make sure that God's Light is the center of our lives. This means that when questions arise in our lives, we turn first to the Light as the one and only Source of Truth and guidance. We do this by turning to the Scriptures, the Catechism, the lives of the saints, and the inspiration of other holy people.Just as a lampstand supports and elevates a lamp, it also provides a firm foundation, ensuring the light remains steady and visible even amid the winds of life's challenges. Similarly, prayer, sacraments, and good works help stabilize the Light of Truth in our lives, enabling it to shine brightly and consistently.Once our lives are enlightened and we clearly see the path God has chosen for us, we naturally begin to radiate that light to others. This is the essence of evangelization. By our daily prayer, sacramental life, acts of charity, and courage in witnessing to the Gospel, we become the lampstand that lifts high the Light of Christ. As others encounter that light through our example, they too are invited to draw closer to its Source, allowing the Truth of the Gospel to illuminate their lives.Sometimes we can struggle in our efforts to evangelize. When we encounter others who express no interest in the Gospel, it is tempting to remain silent and cover up the Light of Christ. But that leaves others in darkness. The evil one often deceives us into thinking that we shouldn't act as a lampstand for the Light of Christ if others prefer the darkness. We might fear offending them or sounding “holier than thou!” This is a dangerous trap.Charity demands evangelization. All people need Christ in their lives, even if they do not know it or are hostile to Christ's light. If you struggle being a lampstand for Christ, reflect on Jesus' next words: “For there is nothing hidden except to be made visible; nothing is secret except to come to light.” In other words, we all will stand one day before the judgment seat of Christ when every hidden thought and action will come to light, visible to us and all who stand before Christ at the Final Judgment. On that day, will we regret having done everything possible to be a lampstand for Christ's light to others? Certainly not. Instead, we will rejoice in every effort we made, even if our words and actions seemed futile. The light we shine might not immediately brighten someone else's path. Yet, like seeds planted in the soil, it has the potential to grow and bear fruit in God's perfect timing. Reflect today on whether you have allowed fear, complacency, or self-doubt to hide the light of Christ in your life. Consider the people God has placed in your path who need His light but have not yet encountered it through you. Resolve to be a lampstand for Christ, courageously and lovingly lifting His truth high for all to see. Jesus, Light of the World, You came to reveal Yourself as the Truth that sets all people free and the Light Who dispels all darkness. Please shine brightly in my life and be my guide always so that I, in turn, may act as an instrument upon which You rest and shine forth in the lives of others. Jesus, I trust in You. One Year Bible Podcast: Join Hunter and Heather Barnes on the Daily Radio Bible, a daily Bible‑in‑a‑year podcast with 20‑minute Scripture readings, Christ‑centered devotion, and guided prayer. This daily Bible reading and devotional invites you to live as a citizen of Jesus' kingdom, reconciled, renewed, and deeply loved. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible! In today's episode, Hunter guides us through a thoughtful reading of Exodus 21-22, Psalm 12, and Acts 4. As we journey through some of the most challenging laws in Exodus, Hunter encourages us to see these ancient rules in their historical context and, even more importantly, in the context of our fallen humanity. We're reminded that the Bible is not just about rules, but about the transforming love and freedom found in Jesus Christ. We'll witness the bold faith of Peter and John as they proclaim the life-changing power of Jesus, and explore how the early church began to embody a new kind of community—one marked by generosity, unity, and sharing. Hunter calls us to wake up to this new reality in Christ, turning from the lies that bind us and stepping fully into our identity as dearly loved children of God. Alongside our time in Scripture, today's episode offers heartfelt prayers, a spirit of gratitude, and a gentle reminder: you are loved. Join us as we establish life-giving rhythms in God's Word and begin this day together with hope and purpose. TODAY'S DEVOTION: It's hard to make sense of these laws in Exodus. They're hard on the ears. They're hard on our souls. These rules we hear dictating the treatment of slaves and women seem so cruel and barbaric. They're hard to hear. In understanding them, it's important that we try to see them in their historical and cultural context. But maybe even more important is that we see them in the context of the fallen human heart. These hard and confusing laws that are being described here are a result of a fallen human heart living in a fallen world. And God in many respects is conceding to this state of affairs through giving us these laws, but only for a while. He will not tolerate this forever. And we should not, as some Christians have in the past, interpret these scriptures in such a way that we say God is okay with slavery. To say that is to misread what the whole Bible is about. To say that is to misunderstand who Jesus himself is. He has come to set humanity free, to break the bonds of our slavery. God is not okay with slavery. Period. He's done something about this. He has given us himself, the promised Messiah that Peter so boldly proclaims in this chapter in Acts. Peter is living out of a new heart. He's a part of a growing community—at this point, 5,000—who are waking up to a new reality in Christ. This new community we see in Acts is so different than the one that's being formed in Exodus. In this new community, God is no longer conceding to hard hearts. Instead, he has drawn them into his own heart, into his own life. And out of this place of wholeness and life in God, they are learning to walk in this new reality as the new people of God. Not living out of a place of dominance or superiority or fear or ownership of one another that we see all over in Exodus. Instead, we see a community that is self-giving, it's generous, compassionate, and loving. In Exodus, we see only a shadow, glimpses of the heart of God in these laws that are described. But in Christ we see the very face of God—his unfiltered and perfect reflection of the nature and the character of God, fully seen, fully known. In the Son, you have been invited to wake up, to wake up to the new reality in Christ. Through him you have been enveloped into the triune life of God. You are free, you are holy, you are his and you are loved. This is what's true. This is what is ours. Ours is to agree with God. To turn from the lies that keep us living like a slave and begin to live in the truth, in the light, as the daughter that you are, the son that you are. The prayer of my own heart is that today I'll be fully awake. That I'll live in this new reality that I've been swept up into. And that's a prayer that I have for my family, for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. Welcome back to The Smiling Homeschooler! Today's topic is something that resonates with just about every homeschooling family: the pressure to finish the curriculum while still saying yes to all the amazing opportunities around us. We recently asked our followers over on Facebook what feels hardest right now, and another one of the most common responses was feeling torn between making steady progress through textbooks, lesson plans, and checklists — and making time for sports, church events, friendships, and real-life learning. It can leave parents feeling behind, stressed, and wondering if they're measuring success by completed pages instead of true learning. We had an encouraging converstation and we hope you enjoy! Before we get started, we want to thank Teaching Textbooks for making The Smiling Homeschooler possible. They're an amazing math curriculum, and we encourage you to check them out at teachingtextbooks.com. We'd also like to thank Samaritan Ministries — a community of Christians who help one another with medical bills. They make it possible for families to take steps of faith, whether that's a career change, a ministry opportunity, or bringing mom home. This Mental Man Monday takes place on a Tuesday, and Izzy opens by acknowledging the shift with humor before diving into a focused and fast-paced episode built around three cultural moments: the viral rise of calorie-loaded “snack hacks,” Kanye West's open letter about his mental health, and the wave of TikTok creators claiming censorship around ICE-related content.Izzy begins by announcing that Season 9 officially closed with Episode 5 featuring AmRock, and until the new season arrives, Mental Man Monday will continue as a livestream series centered on current events that directly impact men. The first topic is a viral TikTok involving Biscoff cheesecake egg rolls, which sparks a deeper conversation about food culture, weight loss, and the sin of gluttony. Izzy examines how TikTok's dessert trends have quietly redefined what “snacking” means, turning simple treats into full meals with 1,200 calories or more. He breaks down the mental health component through the lens of emotional eating, body transformation, fasting culture in January, and the tension between treat culture and self-discipline. Izzy connects this to the Christian principle of stewardship over the body, joking that “WWJD” (What Would Jesus Do) in this context is calling out gluttony, while “WWID” (What Would I Do) focuses on portion control, algorithm manipulation, and leveraging January fasting traditions as a spiritual reset. The second segment shifts to Kanye West, who published a full-page open letter in the Wall Street Journal claiming that an undiagnosed brain injury from 2002 contributed to years of public instability. Izzy reflects on bipolar disorder, grief, artistry, and how culture treats Black genius when mental illness is involved. He affirms that two things can be true at once: Kanye's admission may be sincere, and the entertainment industry may have also attempted to control the narrative. Izzy explores public apologies, the ethics of restoration, and the responsibility men have to apologize when they're wrong—while also noting that public dishonor should receive public correction. The discussion lands on a practical mental health takeaway: treatment, therapy, lifestyle change, and accountability matter, but apologies only carry weight when rooted in sincerity, not pressure. In the final segment, Izzy addresses growing claims from celebrities that TikTok is censoring ICE-related content after a Minneapolis man was killed during an ICE operation. Rather than joining the digital outrage cycle, Izzy takes a critical thinking approach, refusing to follow groupthink or reactionary activism without research. He explains that ICE may have been founded with one intention, but that individual agents often abuse their power, and that the real crisis lies in unnecessary violence and the trauma of family separation. Izzy then examines what Jesus would do—drawing a distinction between honoring governing authorities and refusing to endorse immoral actions—and challenges men to seek truth beyond political binaries. He reminds listeners that refusing to hate a political figure does not translate into supporting them, and that Christians should avoid reactionary rage while still confronting injustice. The episode closes with a brief reflection on discernment, discipline, and preparation for the year ahead. Izzy hints at future guests, a new talk show concept, and ongoing cultural analysis. He signs off with a consistent reminder to keep your head up, know who you are, and make decisions that align with purpose rather than pressure.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/p-s-a-the-mental-health-podcast--5520511/support.TrustBuilder Package
What do you do when someone keeps hurting you—and shows no signs of stopping? Is "being nice" always the Christian response, or does real love sometimes require a backbone? As we move through our How to Handle Life series, this episode condenses a lifetime of wisdom into 30 minutes! John Tinnin dives into one of life's toughest challenges: dealing with truly difficult, unrepentant people. You may not know that God responds differently with repentant (soft-hearted, teachable) and unrepentant (hard-hearted, blame-shifting) individuals. The wisdom of Scripture teaches us to do the same, but too often, Christians default to endless patience and "niceness.” John explains how Jesus modeled kindness with strength, sometimes saying a firm "no" and exposing hurtful behavior which provides the perfect example of how we are to engage with others in love and truth. The core of the episode offers practical "field tactics" to protect yourself while inviting a difficult person to change from being unrepentant to repentant: The Ask ("Would you be willing...?") The Picture (holding up a mirror to show impact) The Price Tag (imposing limits and natural consequences that reflect reality) This episode will help you realize that limits and consequences are loving: They protect the hurt person, they get the offender's attention like a "speed bump," and create conditions for genuine change. As you listen, you will learn how to deal with difficult people by strategically engaging them with clarity and strength.
It's not secret to anyone paying attention: America is more divided politically and ideologically than we've been in a very long time. And conversations about important cultural moments often quickly devolve into name-calling, shouting, and shaming those who don't see things the way that we do. Regardless of what side you're on of whatever issue is in the forefront of the news cycle, there's talking points we repeat that we've been given from whatever news source we've consumed while we simultaneously shout down the “other side” as loudly as possible. But none of this is working. Something is deeply broken. And for all our rage, it's not getting fixed anytime soon. But why? Why is it that we've found ourselves at such a deeply divided ideological impasse? Perhaps the problem isn't just about politics. Maybe it's not really political at all. Perhaps we are living in the same country, using the same words, but operating with two very different visions of reality itself. Two competing answers to deeper questions we rarely stop to name: Like, what is America, really? What is justice? What does it mean to be free? What is the purpose of law, and who gets to define it? And for those who call themselves Christians, the divide cuts even deeper. What is Christianity at its core? Is it a gospel that calls us to repentance, faith, and obedience to Jesus as Lord? Is it a message that calls us to submit to the commands of God and speaks of God's judgment towards the wicked and unrepentant? Or, is it following a Jesus who was a social activist who lived primarily to extend compassion towards the weak, poor, and disenfranchised? If we're commanded to love our neighbor, what is the wisest and most faithful way to do that in a fractured culture? When love and truth appear to collide, which do we choose? Or is just a false dilemma altogether? OK, real talk. Our intent with this episode is not to yell louder or score points with a certain side. We just want to ask better questions, and hopefully name the rival stories shaping our moment. Because until we understand the visions competing for our allegiance, we'll keep fighting the wrong battles and wondering why nothing ever changes. And maybe…just maybe…if we'll listen long enough and seek truth, maybe the fractures among us just might to start to slowly heal.

Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued our weekly theme of “Who Am I” with discussions about living in step with the Holy Spirit. We then turned to the phone lines to ask listeners the question, “What’s something about yourself that you couldn’t see until the Holy Spirit revealed it to you? We then had Ray Comfort join us to discuss how to differentiate between doing things out of stupidity and doing things out of faith and in obedience to God. Ray is the Founder and CEO of Living Waters, which is a ministry that exists to inspire and equip Christians to fulfill the Great Commission. He also cohosts the award-winning television program, “Way of the Master”, which airs in 190 countries and he is the producer of award-winning movies that have been viewed by millions. He has also written over 100 books, including his latest, “Idiotic Things People Did in the Bible.” We then had our weekly segment, “Ally Thinks It’s Funny.” You can hear the highlights of today's program on the Karl and Crew Showcast. This is a question that should be vital for Christians, especially since the Great Commission makes growing Christianity one of most important concerns. But do we really know? In today's episode, Warren Smith says we know the answer to this question. It's hiding in plain sight. It is this: The church grows when we are fruitful and multiply, and when we raise our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. It really is as simple as that. In this bold new series, Nancy begins a deep, necessary confrontation with the disorder that has subtly taken root in the lives of many believers—creature worship. When anything or anyone other than God becomes the source and center of life, even good things like marriage, family, and ministry can become distorted and disordered. This episode breaks open the uncomfortable truth: the church has often built systems and relationships around man, not God. Nancy challenges listeners to revisit the words of Jesus in Luke 14:26, to examine the real meaning of love, and to allow God to reorder everything—starting with themselves. This isn't about abandoning people. It's about dethroning self, and letting God be God again. Thanks for Listening! Welcome to the Live for More Podcast. In this episode, Pastors Zach and Blake talk honestly about new year goals, spiritual habits, family worship, and the real danger of drifting from the gospel. As we step into a new year, many of us feel motivated to make changes — but good intentions alone won't keep us faithful. Scripture shows that even confident believers can fall away when their confidence is rooted in themselves instead of Christ.

The solution isn't abandoning systems—it's recovering personal ownership. Takeaway: A church system that does not explicitly require relational obedience will unintentionally produce passive Christians. Action Step: Examine your church's outcomes and identify which ones require relational obedience versus which ones do not. In this episode, I reflect on a Facebook post I shared last week about the difference between the Kingdom of God and every other kingdom. I honestly expected backlash, but instead the post struck a nerve and opened up a surprising amount of thoughtful and gracious conversation. What I am really talking about here is not Republican versus Democrat. It is discipleship. It is about what happens when the Church trades faithfulness for usefulness and why Christians are called to remember, especially in tense moments, that Caesar was never meant to be Lord. The discussion centered on the book of Job, emphasizing its themes of suffering, faith, and the limits of human understanding. Participants explored Job's righteousness, the role of his friends, and the broader implications of suffering. They highlighted the importance of not jumping to conclusions about others' sins and the need for discernment. The conversation also touched on the significance of Job's faith and his eventual restoration, drawing parallels to biblical figures like David and the broader context of God's sovereignty and plan. The group reflected on the importance of resilience, trust in God, and the impact of suffering on personal growth and faith. The discussion centered on the importance of wisdom and discernment, referencing Solomon's initial prayer for wisdom. James Wilkerson compared Epicureanism and stoicism, noting that mature Christians can balance these philosophies. The conversation also touched on the balance between pleasure and stability in faith, using sports fandom as an analogy. Glenn Cox provided practical advice on seeking pleasure in North Louisiana, recommending PJ's Coffee and local bakery items. The meeting concluded with a light-hearted note on the benefits of finding joy in everyday experiences.
The past few weeks in Acts, we have looked at the Gospel breaking out, through God's sovereign initiative, to more and more people. First, to Samaritans (enemies of the Jews), then to an Ethiopian Eunuch from the ends of the earth, and last week to a legalistic Pharisee intent on killing Christians. This morning the Gospel door is opened to the Gentiles through a European soldier, but what will see is that both men, the Apostle Peter and Cornelius, both needed a conversion.
Does “belief alone” actually save — or has modern Christianity watered down the gospel? In this episode, I'm joined by legendary evangelist Ray Comfort to tackle repentance, false conversions, the sinner's prayer, and eternal judgment. We unpack where modern evangelism goes wrong, why skipping sin and God's holiness weakens the message, and how everyday Christians — including busy moms — can confidently start gospel conversations with unbelievers and the “spiritual but not religious.”Thank you to our sponsors!TAYLOR DUKES WELLNESS — Use code ALEXCLARK for 10% offPRIMALLY PURE — Use code ALEXCLARK for 15% offA'DEL NATURAL COSMETICS — Use code ALEX for 25% off first-time ordersPALEOVALLEY — Use code ALEX for 15% off your first orderJOOVV — Get an exclusive discount on your first red light therapy orderGEVITI — Use code ALEX for 20% off your first purchaseOur Guest:Ray ComfortRay's Links:WEBSITEINSTAGRAMFACEBOOKPODCASTX
Chad Hayes and his brother Carey wrote The Conjuring—a film with no sex, no blood, and two Christians as the heroes. It became one of the highest-grossing horror films of all time. What most people don't know is that the supernatural events didn't stop when the cameras turned off. Strange voices interrupted phone calls with Lorraine Warren. Objects moved on their own in the artifacts room. Chad's son fled the set after something started operating by itself in the dark. And that was just the beginning. In this episode, Chad shares what Lorraine Warren was really like, the moment on set when she walked up to a crew member and knew exactly what was tormenting him, and why he's spent the last two decades chasing true stories of demonic confrontation, from a possessed man chained to a wall in India to the haunted LaLaurie House in New Orleans where something pounded on a grown man's chest in the middle of the night. Chad opens up about all of it, plus his upcoming projects, why he believes the best horror movies are really love stories, and why he only tells stories where the devil loses. Today, Pastor Jack teaches that there is a striking difference between sin, and demonic power, and God's kingdom of faith, sacrifice, and divine justice. So, Christians are called to recognize God's purposes, and that way, we're able to identify with David's kingdom.

Chad Bird joins the Thinking Fellows to challenge the popular idea that the Old Testament is a mysterious book filled with hidden codes and secret meanings waiting to be unlocked. Together, they examine the motivations and theological presuppositions that drive these approaches and why they often distort how Christians read Scripture. In contrast, the conversation offers a constructive vision for Old Testament study; one that emphasizes historical context, literary awareness, and the value of the original languages as gifts that clarify, rather than conceal, God's Word.
