Several union locals have voted to launch removal proceedings, citing layoffs, retaliation, and alleged financial mismanagement.Workers at Stellantis and GM plants joined four other UAW locals in voting to oust Fain, meeting the threshold for a federal monitor to review the allegations.At issue are thousands of Stellantis layoffs since the 2023 contract, said to result from pressure to raise wages.Critics also say Fain retaliated against board members who resisted approving spending.Support for Fain remains strong among graduate student workers, but dissent is growing in Detroit-area factories.“I supported Shawn, but his spending is out of control and he's retaliatory,” said David Pillsbury, a GM worker behind the petition.Chevrolet has set a new benchmark for EV range, pushing a 2026 Silverado EV Work Truck to an eye-popping 1,059 miles on a single charge. Race fans got double the IndyCar short oval action this past weekend in Iowa, and our resident open wheeler Conor Daly was putting on a high line clinic. He joins co-host Chase Holden to unpack the action from Iowa Speedway and how he delivered Juncos Hollinger Racing's best qualifying effort on a short oval to date. Conor explains that he was combating right front temperature issues in the first race but a late caution put him in position to bring home a seventh-place finish. In race two, an untimely caution for Colton Herta ended up ruining his team's strategy, which trapped him two laps down late in the running. Conor expresses his heartbreak from the situation, as had the race run green he would have been in contention for a top-five finish and great points effort.Winner of the first race and the first driver to park a Chevy in victory lane this season Pato O'Ward joins the show to debrief with Conor about their time together in Iowa. The guys chat about the strategy in race one and how moving to the high line as soon as possible was key for making up track position. Pato talks about struggling to get around lapped traffic but how overall the racing product was twice as better this year as last season's doubleheader. Despite this, the guys discuss the low attendance and television ratings and try to come up with solutions for bringing fan interest back to the Iowa short oval. The guys also take a look at the rest of the season and Pato's championship hopes.

Watch Tim Constantine's Capitol Hill Show and find him on X at @timconstantine1.Tim's Music Pick: Bob SegerBursting out of the Detroit rock scene in the late '60s, Bob Seger paid his dues in smoky bars and VFW halls before finally breaking through with Live Bullet and Night Moves. It wasn't overnight success. Seger's story begins in the early 1960s and includes a string of quality albums in the early 1970s that the artist refuses to allow to be streamed or rereleased in any way. Seger's raspy voice and working-class storytelling made him the unofficial bard of the Midwest — writing songs that felt like they were ripped straight from America's small town backroads and main streets. Seger had a gift for writing anthems that balanced nostalgia with grit, “Night Moves” and “Mainstreet” chief among them. He followed his smash hit album with a fish-out-of-water follow-up that spoke to some of his uncomfortableness with the spotlight. In the '80s, Seger leaned into his role as rock's reliable everyman. With songs like “Against the Wind” and “Like a Rock,” he became the (literal) soundtrack for Forrest Gump and the voice that sold millions of Chevy pick-up trucks. Whether it was a prom slow dance or a late-night drive, Seger's songs were always there.His later albums didn't necessarily chase relevance — they just kept the flame alive. And when he finally hung it up after one last tour in 2019, he didn't exit with bombast and he hasn't teased the world with any number of comebacks. He seems content to have left listeners with a jukebox full of songs to enjoy. And it's likely you know far more of them than you might think.If you're a fan of old time rock and roll, well, this might be the episode for you.
