Food can either work with your body, fuel it perfectly and even help it to repair, heal and grow strong or it can be damaging, making us tired or overactive, adding to inflammation, toxins and ultimately disease in our body. Every time you eat and drink you are either feeding disease or fighting it. Consider that – every time you eat or drink something it is healing you or harming you. Wow, that is a powerful and thought-provoking statement. It's food for thought. Rates of illness and disease are increasing, there is not a day that goes by at my holistic dental practice in Brisbane that we do not see someone with diabetes, cancer, allergies, heart disease and a whole host of other conditions, many of which would be considered diseases of lifestyle.   www.evolvedental.com.au www.holisticdentistry.au

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” -- Hippocrates Food is more than fuel – it plays an integral role in our lives, including social, emotional and spiritual components. Most people know nutrition is important for good health and well-being. The difficulty lies in changing well-worn habits that include fast, easy, processed, unhealthy food choices. Nutrition may seem complicated, but it's not. The hard part is breaking free of unhealthy habits. The standard American diet is filled with processed food, refined grains, sugar, carbs and sodium, which promote an inflammatory state. (We know it's bad for us, but it's so easy, fast and tasty, right?). So, how do we stick with a healthier everyday diet?  Get detailed information and tips in Episode 76, where Dr. G and his guest, Colin Zhu, DO, talk about how to build a balanced diet plan that can help protect you from disease and promote a healthier state of being.   Guest Colin Zhu, DO, DipABLM, Chef – Double board-certified family practice, osteopathic manipulative treatment and lifestyle medicine physician; Chef; Author and health coach; Founder and owner of TheChefDoc, an online wellness and lifestyle education platform; Host of the Thrive Bites podcast; Co-Host of Love, Scrubs & Stories podcast; Author of “Thrive Medicine: How To Cultivate Your Desires and Elevate Your Life.” Connect with us on social Follow Health 360 with Dr. G on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for notifications about new episodes and a behind-the-scenes look at the podcast. Today we are so excited to bring with you a conversation about conscious eating for overall body and skin health, beauty from within, and purpose led business with Whitney Tingle, co-founder and co-CEO of Sakara, which brings organic, plant-rich, meals right to your front door. I have long been a fan of Sakara due to their huge efforts towards sustainable food production, education around nutrition, preventative approaches to healthcare, and all round commitment to the true well-being of their clients.  Whitney and Cora will discuss how she and her co-founder Danielle brought the company to life after their own personal health struggles, and the incredible lessons around the power of food and lifestyle changes she has learned along the way. We also chat about cultivating beauty from within, her approach to healthy skin after years of struggling with severe cystic acne, and how she balances her work with Sakara, being a mother to a toddler, and how she has learned to reduce external toxins and stresses to the best extent she can.  Which leads me nicely to thanking today's sponsor, Terra Kaffe, which has become a staple in my own home for a sustainable coffee routine where we can take a moment for ourselves before starting the day and indulge in one of our favorite morning rituals of making an espresso.Founded to be a solution for the conscious coffee consumer, Terra Kaffe is a completely capsule-free answer to the pod-coffee crisis and allows you to use waste free, organic beans which I love as you can tailor and brew your own beverage in the comfort of your kitchen. Since 2018, Terra Kaffe has been bringing the spirit of the coffee shop to the homes of sustainability-minded coffee lovers around the US. They are the makers of TK-01, a completely transformative super automatic espresso machine that puts meaningful morning rituals back into focus. Conceived around the best parts of leisurely European coffee culture and design, TK-01 helps elevate the time we spend at home by enabling a more mindful coffee experience. OVERVIEW: In this episode of Cheers to Your Success! Ashley talks about a topic that's often misunderstood - the difference between eating healthy and eating for fat loss. Eating healthy means making choices that nourish your body and support overall health and well-being. This might include eating a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and healthy fats. Eating healthy is important for maintaining a healthy weight, reducing the risk of chronic diseases, and promoting optimal physical and mental health. Eating for fat loss, on the other hand, involves making choices that support weight loss goals. This might include focusing on foods that are low in calories, high in protein, and high in fiber, as well as limiting or avoiding processed foods, added sugars, and unhealthy fats. Eating for fat loss can be a helpful strategy for people who are looking to lose weight, but it's important to do so in a sustainable and healthy way. It's important to note that eating healthy and eating for fat loss are not necessarily mutually exclusive. You can eat a healthy, balanced diet that supports weight loss goals by making smart choices about the types and amounts of foods you eat. So whether you're looking to eat healthier, lose weight, or both, the key is to focus on making sustainable changes that support your overall health and well-being. IN THIS EPISODE WE DISCUSS: What is the difference between eating for fat loss vs. eating for health Are you eating right for your goals What is the biggest difference between the two CONNECT WITH ASHLEY: Apply for the Metabolic Fix 1:1 coaching program HERE! My guest is Layne Norton, Ph.D. — one of the world's foremost experts in nutrition, protein metabolism, muscle gain and fat loss. We discuss the science of energy utilization and balance, the efficacy of different diets (e.g., ketogenic, vegan, vegetarian, carnivore, omnivore), and how best to build lean muscle mass and lose fat. We also discuss optimal protein and fiber intake, the best sources of protein, the correlation between appetite, satiety signals and exercise, along with male and female-specific needs. Dr. Norton also explains how to support a healthy gut microbiome and offers insight into sugar and artificial sweeteners, processed, cooked, and raw foods, supplements, seed oils, and the relationship of LDL/HDL levels to cardiovascular health. This episode serves as a master class in nutrition, metabolism and exercise and is sure to benefit people of all ages and with different health and fitness goals. Plant Based Eating for Health with Kathleen GageI am thrilled to bring you this podcast. Imagine eating hemp seeds rather than eggs. How about a smoothie with kale with frozen bananas, hemp seeds and unsweetened almond milk. There are so many nutritional options. Due to the COVID19 pandemic we can no longer trust meat packing plants. After nearly 25 years in business, Kathleen Gage is doing what most entrepreneurs would never dream of doing; changing her business direction and market in a big way. Creating a level of success many entrepreneurs aspired to achieve, Kathleen discovered a passion that had been percolating under the surface for years; a whole food, plant-based lifestyle. As a marketing and business strategist, Kathleen Gage has made it her mission to teach solo and small business owners how to become visible to their market through the power of clarity of their message and to package their core message into speaking engagements, books, information products and consulting and coaching services.Applying the very strategies she teaches her clients, Kathleen is rapidly growing her name recognition and position in a new market moving forward in 2020; the whole food, plant-based, vegan market. On a mission to raise awareness about the health and business benefits of a plant based lifestyle, Kathleen has immersed herself into a lifestyle that is healthy, compassionate to animals and kind to the planet.Proving we are never too old to pursue our passion, Kathleen received her certificate of completion in Plant Based Nutrition from eCornell University at the age of 65. Kathleen revealed to me that she is on no medication. Her labs reveal the blood of a 20 year old. Nutrition + movement and a positive attitude = a healthy lifestyle and strong immune system. Listen to how Kathleen kicked obesity and found her mission which is helping us.Contact Kathleen:www.PlantBasedEatingForHealth.comhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/Plant...https://twitter.com/kathleengagehttps://twitter.com/plantbasedefhhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/kathleeng...www.powerupforprofitspodcast.comwww.PowerUpForProfits.comI will help you remove your sugar and junk food cravings with #EFT #tapping.https://joankaylor.com/online-courses/For specific evidenced based EFT contact me at Joan@joankaylor.com.I offer a sliding scale for private consultations.
