Son seul tort : porter le même nom que l'un des terroristes. Sa photo a été massivement relayée, accompagnée d'accusations infondées. Il a reçu des menaces de mort, sa famille a été harcelée. Une erreur d'identité banale, mais aux conséquences dramatiques. Et malgré l'existence des Community Notes, censées corriger les fausses informations, le mal était fait. Selon le Center for Countering Digital Hate, près de trois quarts des contenus de désinformation liés aux élections américaines de 2024 n'ont jamais été corrigés.
