L'audit annuel de NewsGuard montre qu'environ 35 % des réponses fournies par les chatbots contiennent des erreurs factuelles. Et ce n'est pas étonnant : l'IA se nourrit d'Internet… et donc de ses imprécisions, de ses approximations et parfois de ses mensonges. Si une information fausse circule largement, l'IA peut la reprendre sans nuance. Alors comment aider les plus jeunes à faire la différence entre un fait vérifié et une intox séduisante ? La réponse se trouve peut-être dans une démarche simple : commencer tôt. Sensibiliser dès l'école primaire permet aux enfants de comprendre comment circulent les informations, pourquoi certaines images sont truquées et comment le cerveau se laisse facilement piéger. En Belgique, un outil précieux existe : les interventions de Journalistes en classe, coordonnées par l'Association des Journalistes Professionnels. Ces professionnels se déplacent dans les écoles—de la maternelle supérieure aux études supérieures—pour expliquer les mécanismes des fake news : pourquoi elles se répandent vite, comment les réseaux sociaux favorisent leur propagation, et comment reconnaître une image manipulée. Les exemples parlent d'eux-mêmes : faux requins dans les rues après un ouragan, crocodiles “photoshopés” dans des métros inondés… Autant d'images qui paraissent crédibles lorsqu'on ne possède pas encore les bons réflexes d'analyse. Cette démarche permet aussi d'aborder une distinction essentielle :La désinformation, volontaire, utilisée pour manipuler ;La mésinformation, involontaire, liée à une erreur ou à un manque de vérification. Comprendre cette nuance aide les enfants à se positionner en citoyens responsables plutôt qu'en relais involontaires de fausses nouvelles.Pour prolonger cet apprentissage, il existe aussi des livres et bandes dessinées ludiques, parfaits pour aiguiser le regard tout en s'amusant.Les parents et enseignants peuvent notamment s'appuyer sur des ouvrages qui décodent les rumeurs, les canulars, la publicité déguisée ou les pièges de l'image. Parmi eux :Le petit livre pour apprendre à s'informer et décrypter les fake news ;  Stop à la manipulation : comprendre l'info, décrypter les fake news, Stop à la tyrannie des réseaux sociaux : bien les comprendre, mieux les gérer (tous chez Bayard Jeunesse) ou encore Fake news : tout sur la désinformation de Nereida Carrillo et Alberto Montt aux éditions Les 4 coups. Que reste-t-il des légendes lorsqu'on examine les faits ?Autre série utile : Les Idées Reçues sur l'Histoire. On y découvre que les Vikings ne portaient pas de casques à cornes, que les gens du Moyen Âge ne vivaient pas tous sales, ou encore que l'apparence de Cléopâtre nous est inconnue, puisque sa dépouille n'a jamais été retrouvée. En apprenant à distinguer mythe et réalité, les enfants acquièrent une compétence essentielle : douter intelligemment, questionner, chercher des preuves.À l'heure où l'IA fabrique du contenu à grande vitesse, où les réseaux sociaux récompensent le sensationnel, où des images plus vraies que nature peuvent être générées en un clic, cette éducation au discernement devient fondamentale. Elle ne vise pas à rendre méfiant, mais à rendre lucide.Former les enfants à l'esprit critique, c'est construire le meilleur antidote contre les intox qui empoisonnent le débat public. Alaska's congressional delegation on Thursday succeeded in stripping Biden-era protections from the coastal plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, moving to expand opportunities for drilling there. The U.S. Senate voted to eliminate the 2024 leasing program for the refuge that put much of the refuge's 1.6-million-acre coastal plain off-limits to potential drilling.  The vote does a lot more than just open the door for potential oil and gas activity.  This is another step in unlocking America’s treasure chest. The specifics of the reasoning for the fine are typically European.  (1) Twitter allows ordinary people to deliver information at the same level as people who should be defined as more important.  (2)  Advertisers of those who pay for promotion of information on X are not easily identifiable – people need to figure it out on their own.  (3)  It is too difficult to figure out who is providing the information. The NSS states as its purpose: To ensure that America remains the world's strongest, richest, most powerful, and most successful country for decades to come, our country needs a coherent, focused strategy for how we interact with the world. And to get that right, all Americans need to know what, exactly, it is we are trying to do and why. A “strategy” is a concrete, realistic plan that explains the essential connection between ends and means: it begins from an accurate assessment of what is desired and what tools are available, or can realistically be created, to achieve the desired outcomes. A strategy must evaluate, sort, and prioritize. Not every country, region, issue, or cause—however worthy—can be the focus of American strategy. The purpose of  foreign policy is the protection of core national interests; that is the sole focus of this strategy. One of the more interesting (but not surprising) pieces of this NSS is the overt and robust return to the Monroe Doctrine, an early 19th-century policy intended to restrict further European colonization of the Western Hemisphere and to ensure American dominance in that region. According to CBS an anonymous “whistleblower” originally contacted the ODNI, Tulsi Gabbard's office, with information about who the J6 pipe bomber was.  Subsequently, “a unit overseen by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard drafted a memo identifying the woman and describing allegations.” As the article is written, “Several sources told CBS News that the classified draft memo, which was on ODNI letterhead, was written by Paul McNamara, who is in charge of Gabbard's Director's Initiatives Group, which is tasked with providing “transparency and accountability” and executing President Trump's intelligence-related executive orders.” Shortly thereafter, Steve Baker at Blaze News then wrote an article naming the accused pipe bomber, using information that directly paralleled the report within the DNI's office.
