Full Hour | In today's second hour, Dom welcomes Robin Shaffer back onto the Dom Giordano Program to discuss his continued effort to raise awareness of the negative implications of the windmills of the beaches of the Jersey Shore. Shaffer tells of multiple more deaths of marine mammals, telling more whales have washed ashore, explaining that a new documentary focused on the issue will be coming out that shows the ultimate stress on these amazing animals caused by the windmills.  Then, Tommy Fierro, head of Independent Superstars of Professional Wrestling, joins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss his upcoming Brawl on the Boardwalk happening next Saturday, August 26th at 7:30PM at the Wildwoods Convention Center. Fiero tells of some amazing guests joining, telling that The Sandman and Scotty 2 Hotty, two legendary wrestling personalities, will be appearing on Saturday. Also, Tommy tells us what sets Indie wrestling apart from big-time professional wrestling, explaining the amazing fan-driven environment at his live events. After that, Jonny Z, owner of Mulligan's, stops on to the show to tell us what's worth checking out coming up at Mulligan's. First, though, Jonny tells what happened after the last time the Dom Giordano Program broadcasted from the bar, when a city-wide power outage knocked the show off-air for a bit. Then, Jonny tells listeners about the great dinners that he has on special here at the bar, and runs through some of his great drink specialties.  Then, Dom welcomes back Neal Zoren back on to the Dom Giordano Program to hear what's worth watching, with Neal telling what he's looking forward to in what's usually a very important month for television, September. Zoren tells that he suspects the writer's strike is causing a lack of material this year, but tells what he's streaming, suggesting Justina Machado's new series The Horrors of Delores Roach, and explaining why he's not a huge fan of Netflix's new hit BEEF. Las consecuencias del intento de golpe de Estado del pasado día 24 se dejan sentir ya no sólo en Rusia, donde el asunto aún está lejos de resolverse, sino también en su periferia, en lo que en el Kremlin denominan “extranjero cercano”, un grupo de repúblicas centroasiáticas y del Cáucaso vinculadas política y económicamente a Rusia desde la implosión de la Unión Soviética. No fue casual que nada más producirse la rebelión de Yevgueni Prigozhin Putin se encargó de ponerse en contacto con todos los presidentes de estos países para transmitirles tranquilidad. La relación bilateral que estos mandatarios tienen no es tanto con Rusia como con Putin personalmente. En todos los casos Rusia y sus asuntos no les supone algo extraño, la conocen bien y saben cómo funciona la política allí ya que durante décadas formaron parte de la URSS y buena parte de sus líderes se formaron en esa época. Cuando se produjo la invasión de Ucrania hace año y medio se pusieron de perfil tratando de no verse involucrados. Para ellos la situación era delicada. No querían predisponerse contra Putin, de quien dependen en muchas cosas, pero tampoco enfrentarse con los países occidentales, que desde hace años son socios comerciales de primer orden. El golpe de Prigozhin les ha vuelto a poner en un brete. El presidente de Kazajistán, Kasim-Yomart Tokáev, aseguró que es una cuestión interna rusa en la que ni entra ni sale. Hace año y medio Tokáev pidió ayuda a Putin para mantenerse en el cargo tras unos violentos disturbios en todo el país provocados por la subida del precio del gas. En aquel momento solicitó ayuda a la Organización del Tratado de Seguridad Colectiva, una alianza militar acaudillada por Rusia, y ésta se la dio sin rechistar. En el Kremlin no tienen del todo claro que Tokáev les devuelva el favor. Otros líderes centroasiáticos han preferido guardar silencio y mantenerse al margen esperando acontecimientos. Los Gobiernos se limitaron a advertir a sus ciudadanos que se abstuviesen de viajar a ciertas zonas de Rusia por el riesgo que entrañaba, pero no quisieron pasar de ahí. El mercado, entretanto, fue por su lado. Las divisas centroasiáticas se revaluaron frente al rublo y se devaluaron frente al dólar y el euro. La tensión política en Rusia ocasionó también un éxodo de ciudadanos rusos hacia el extranjero. El precio de los billetes se disparó y entre el sábado y el domingo se acabaron las plazas disponibles en los aviones hacia destinos como Astana, en Kazajistán, Tiflis, en Georgia, y Estambul. Para colmo de males la crisis no se ha terminado de solucionar. Putin ha conseguido mantenerse en el cargo, pero sensiblemente debilitado. Eso es algo que descuentan en las cancillerías de todas estas repúblicas. La estructura de poder en Rusia ha quedado tocada, el responsable de la rebelión está en el exilio, pero aún conserva la vida, y nadie sabe realmente hasta donde alcanzan los destrozos dentro del régimen. Para el “extranjero cercano” esto es un motivo de preocupación porque cuando Rusia se desestabiliza les afecta directamente, más aún a las repúblicas cuyos Gobiernos dependen de forma más o menos directa del Kremlin. Los equilibrios siempre frágiles que mantienen las alianzas centroasiáticas podrían terminar por romperse.
