It turns out that it is very hard to get rid of the fat that appeared due to this reason. If you lack the energy to do regular exercises, ginger will help you out! It has an effect that is similar to that of caffeine. It increases your energy level, so it becomes easier for you to exercise efficiently. You should have a cup of such a drink in the morning and then enjoy it after every meal at least 2 or 3 more times a day. How to get a flat stomach? Seeing the results of your efforts is the key when you want to reach the ideal weight. Here are a few simple habits you need to change to help you wake up leaner and keep you motivated during the whole day. Your body will get in shape, and no hard workout or diets are needed! Moreover, they contain lactose, a natural sugar that is often difficult to digest for humans. Despite being delicious, Chinese food usually contains large amounts of sodium. Therefore, eating Chinese food often leads to uncomfortable bloating. Studies show that sorbitol (it's a sugar alcohol used in sugarless chewing gums) requires lots of time for its digestion. This favors the fermentation of bacteria, causing swelling and flatulence. Energy bars are processed food, and people who consume them gain more weight than those who don't. A cold shower before bed is an excellent way to lower your body temperature and stimulate brown fat. This one is a fat tissue that consumes energy to raise your body temperature and help you burn more calories. Dried fruits can be a primary source of nutrients and fibers, but they are particularly high in fructose. If you have problems absorbing these sugars, it is very likely that they will cause swelling and gas. Butyric acid helps reduce inflammation in our body and improves insulin sensitivity. Oatmeal, dark chocolate, red fruits, nuts, and a little cinnamon for breakfast stimulates intestinal activity by increasing the levels of this acid. Alana: Hello doctor Cabral, I've been listening to your podcast for a few years now, and it's one of the constants in my life, so I really wanted to thank you for that. It takes a lot of time and work to record these every single day, and please know that we notice that and appreciate it greatly. I wanted to ask your opinion about something I've been struggling with for a while: fat and cellulite on my belly. I've never had a flat stomach, but it had gotten worse throughout the years. I'm 43 now, have low female hormones, low thyroid and some gut issues. I'm working on all of those things with a naturopath and have done CBO protocol too. I do 30 minutes or strength training and take long walks, 5-6 days of the week. I'm not overweight and have muscle definition both in my upper and lower body, but my belly just keeps growing it seems. Is there anything you would advise for me to do to get rid of the belly fat and cellulite? I'm already taking supplements, prioritise sleep and relaxation and eat to help my hormone balance and hypothyroidism. Anything you could do to help would be much appreciated! Thank you in advance! Alana Jenny: Hi Dr. Cabral - I've been a loyal listener for several years and can't thank you enough for all that you and your team do for this community. It's truly life changing! I see a dermatologist at least annually to check for moles and early skin cancer spots from years of sun damage in my teens and twenties before I knew better. I've had several removed from my face and chest and because more seem to appear as time goes on. Is there a natural "facial peel" you would recommend that may help with these proactively? I know you've talked about a combination of green clay and ACV. I do have sensitive skin with redness. I think a facial peel may be the way to go for me, but am concerned about going to an esthetician due to the chemicals involved, but I'd like to give the skin on my face a fresh start, if that's even possible. When I was 19 I was advised by my endocrinologist to take a radio active iodine pill to deplete my thyroid. My thyroid was hyper now hypo because of the treatment. Is there anything I can do to treat it other than being on Synthroid long term since I have nothing to work with anymore since it is no longer there? Thank you! Moez: Hi Dr. Cabral. I hope you are doing well and have an amazing day. I have been seen these bumps or pimples I am not quite sure what to call them. They just look like a raised tissue or a pimple at the end of my tongue where my throat is. I have never felt anything from them whatsoever. No issues at all. However, they've been there for a while now 4 or 5 years or so. It could be more. As far as I remember it's about 5 years when I first seen them. I wonder what they are and what to do about it. There's about 4 of them two on each side. Sometimes they look big sometimes they look pretty small and not as inflamed I am assuming. I am 29 years old Male, pretty I exercise regularly 4-5 times weight lifting. I eat pretty clean mostly organic, grass feed, pasture raised etc. don't have any issues. I used to smoke before for about 10 years then quit 4 years in now. I Don't drink never have never will either. Take my vitamins regularly. Moez: Hi again Dr. Cabral. I also have a breathing issue sometimes. It feels like I am struggling for air, I try to inhale and I just can't get that oxygen that my body needs. In some cases no matter how many times I try to relax myself and inhale I just can't get that oxygen. The air will go down through my throat but I don't feel like I got the Oxygen I need. So I just stop thinking about it and in about a minute or less I'll just breath normal and have that oxygen. I also sometimes have to move my body and be in a certain position to be able to breath and get oxygen. I had this issue since I was a little kid. I am also more of a mouth breather and sometimes sleep with my mouth open and droll as well. The issue feels worsen when I don't eat very clean like cheat day or over eat on a meal. However, even when I am eating the cleanest it is still there but it feels a lot better. It gets better when I fast but not completely gone tho. Even when I did the 4 days fast i still felt it. I am 29 years old. 5'7 245lb. I am in a weight loss journey still. I was 365lb two years ago. I still got a way to go but taking it slowly and healthy. Side note I do plan on running the big fives pretty soon, I am just not sure if they would help with these issues, As I am feeling pretty amazing otherwise. Aim to consistently give your body what it needs: fruits, whole grains, vegetables, nuts, and lean protein. Eat small regular, meals and drink lots of water. 2. Cardio Exercise : One of the keys to burning fat is steady cardio exercise. Performed at least three times per week for a minimum of twenty minutes, this will start to burn away the fat and reveal the muscles that lie beneath. 3. Abdominal Interval Training : Interval training is very effective at burning fat because it spikes your metabolism, causing you to burn more calories for up to 24 hours after the workout. Where you tend to store body fat is related primarily to your genetic disposition. If you have an excessive amount of body fat, and heredity dictates storage around the middle, then unfortunately you will gain fat in the abdominal area. That said, many women notice abdominal weight gain when they go through menopause. This is because hormonal shifts can change the way the body breaks down and stores fat—hence a redistribution of body fat and the tendency for it to accumulate in the belly as women grow older. This tendency is particularly unhealthy, as excessive abdominal fat, especially the deep abdominal fat—called visceral fat—increases the risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. What really works to get rid of stubborn belly fat? The good news in the battle of belly bulge is that there are three scientifically proven lifestyle changes you CAN make that when combined together are the best way to attack that fat around the middle and flatten your belly. Three Tips for a Flat Stomach: 1. Eat a nutritious, calorie-controlled diet. Excess body fat, whether it’s in the stomach or the thighs, is the result of routinely consuming more calories than you expend. Now is the time to change those unhealthy eating habits. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and good fats. Eat breakfast, don’t skip meals, drink lots of calorie-free liquid, and eat small, frequent, lighter meals at home. Watch your portion sizes and calculate your daily calorie intake to ensure you’re eating the right amount to lose body fat at a safe rate. 2. Daily cardio exercise. Calorie-burning cardio exercise is one of the best ways to target stubborn belly fat. This is because stomach fat is more metabolically active and when you exercise, you target that area for fuel. What’s more, when you burn those calories up, you reduce your percentage of body fat, thereby shrinking those belly fat cells. This will allow you to see those abdominal muscles you’ve worked so hard in the gym to define. 3. Strength training. While you can’t “spot reduce” belly fat, you CAN strengthen and tone the abdominal muscles. That way, once you lose that extra fat around the tummy, you’ll be able to clearly see that toned flat stomach. Keep in mind that a single abdominal exercise won’t make a flabby stomach into washboard abs! Plus, there are certain abdominal exercises that are much more effective in strengthening and tightening the middle than others. Your flat tummy workout should incorporate exercises that target both the deeper and the lower abdominal muscles. For example, the rectus abdominus muscle is the most common target of abdominal exercises such as crunches. This is a postural muscle; it’s also a paired muscle that runs vertically and has distinct segments on each side. The rectus is responsible for the “six-pack” visible in toned athletes. Another important “core” muscle is the transverse abdominus, buried deep beneath the rectus. This muscle, though often neglected, also helps flatten the stomach. It runs horizontally and acts like a girdle, strengthening the core and decreasing risk of back injury.
