Have a great day! English Summary:In this episode, I shared my experiences of studying Japanese for six months, exploring both the advantages and challenges for Chinese speakers. While kanji offers some familiarity and is an advantage in the beginning, differences in grammar, sentence structure, and pronunciation make the learning process challenging. I also mentioned the fast pace of Japanese speech, which is a major challenge for beginners. Despite some challenges, I emphasized the other side of language learning — it is not only a process requiring patience and persistence but also a great way to relax. Learning a language helps the brain rest and supports overall well-being. I encourage listeners to stay patient and persistent in their language learning journey, as effort will eventually lead to rewards, increased confidence, and a sense of accomplishment. They are very painful in your business, but they're necessary because we need a sense of order and structure as our businesses change and evolve. · Leadership is about generating motivation and inspiration in our environment in our people to move towards a future state destination. · Acknowledging that I'm not good at something doesn't feel good, but it's really important. On top of it, acknowledging then that I'm not good at it, I must keep doing it while deciding to outsource, delegate, or redesign it. That process is another effort. And that's necessary. · It's okay just to be okay with it and see it as a necessary part of the journey. · Prioritize leaning into the thing that is most painful and fix that first. för första gången.En: It was a sunny winter's day in Stockholm, and Johan was eager to get out on the ice to skate for the first time. En: He had seen images of happy people dancing across the frozen lake, and he wanted to experience that feeling for himself. En: Johan was determined to learn how to skate and show everyone how good he was. En: With the help of his friend Lisa, Johan had gotten hold of a pair of skates in the right size and headed to one of the city's popular ice rinks. En: He felt a little nervous, but at the same time tense with anticipation. En: When he laced up his skates and stood on the ice, his legs were like jelly and he wobbled back and forth. En: A group of onlookers gathered around Johan and started laughing when they saw his first stumbling steps. En: Johan tried not to care about them and concentrate on finding the balance. He slipped and slid forward, like a penguin on slippery ice.Sv: Folk runt omkring började klappa händerna och skratta ännu högre.En: People around started clapping their hands and laughing even louder. En: Johan felt embarrassed, but he did not give up.Sv: Han ställde sig upp igen och försökte att komma framåt.En: He held his arms out for balance and gently pushed forward. En: But it didn't go as he had planned. En: Instead of going forward, Johan went sideways and fell on his butt. En: The bursts of laughter grew even louder, like a symphony of laughter all around him.Sv: Johan kände frustration bubbla upp inom honom.En: Johan felt frustration bubbling up inside him. En: He wanted to show that he could skate as well as everyone else. En: He stood up again and decided to try one last time. En: He slipped again and again, but he realized he was getting the hang of it.Sv: Han vågade släppa taget om räcket och glida framåt, även om det var mer som en hal sköldpadda än en elegant åkning.En: He dared to let go of the railing and slide forward, although it was more like a slippery turtle than a graceful ride.Sv: När Johan äntligen nådde andra sidan av sjön, applåderade åskådarna honom.En: When Johan finally reached the other side of the lake, the spectators applauded him. En: He couldn't help smiling, even though his cheeks were still flushed with shame. En: It wasn't the perfect ride he had dreamed of, but it was his first step towards learning something new. En: Johan decided not to be put down by the laughing people. En: Instead of giving up, he would keep practicing and getting better at skating. En: He had realized that it didn't matter what other people thought, as long as he himself was happy with his progress. En: And so, with a smile on his face and courage in his heart, Johan continued his journey on the ice. En: Life was like a frozen lake - full of falls and laughter, but also full of opportunities to learn and grow. En: Finally, Johan understood that it was the journey itself that was important, not the perfection in reaching the According to Oxford Languages Dictionary on Google, Persevere is to continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no prospect of success. Such was what Lucretia was facing when she was fresh out of prison and ready to try to navigate her own healing. In this episode, we'll hear about that and a letter that she wrote to her mother. EPISODE TRANSCRIPT Sarah Styf is a very cool English Teacher and more! We had a great conversation about how important it is for believers to consider our conduct online. When every tweet or comment section can become a digital hellscape, our posture, our words and our presence matter. Do we need to be perfect? Absolutely not. But we certainly can make the effort to be loving. We also discuss echo chambers, silos and have a Non-Judgment Zone of Joy that would make the Swifties proud. Sarah has a great newsletter (On the Journey) and an AWESOME BOOK over at Amazon called Embracing the Journey: Learning to Grow When Life Doesn't Work Out as Planned Join the conversation in our Facebook Group. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/betterontheinside/message

Where are you standing right now? No. I don't mean literally. I'm referring to your leadership. It's Easter! Christ is Risen! And I trust you experienced the joy, wonder, and power of the resurrection in worship on Sunday. The question is, where are you standing with your leadership? Are you standing on the Monday side of Easter or the Friday side of Easter? While that may seem like a silly question to ask right after we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday, it's the reality of many leaders. Many try to lead without hope. Some try to lead without the power of the risen Lord guiding the way. And still others dwell in the darkness and disappointment we experience in the garden and at the cross. We are Easter people! If you didn't say Amen as you read that, how about we try again? We are Easter people! Amen! And Amen! As Christ-centered leaders, you and I are a part of a movement that makes all of us Easter people. The question is, are you leading with the power of the resurrection as your guide? Are you learning to rise? If you're not exactly sure what that means, in Episode 226, Tim and I explore the journey of learning to rise. Using the journey of Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday, we explore how leaders rise after disappointment, betrayal, doubt, and more. Resurrection hope gives us the promise of a new day. Resurrection hope is the power to turn disappointment into new life. Resurrection hope is available to you and the people you lead. For many, we simply need to learn to rise. As you listen to Episode 226, come with a difficult leadership moment you're facing. Come prepared to explore how Stormy First Drafts can help you explore the story you're telling yourself so you can experience the power of the resurrection…and much more.

Narratives shape our world in infinite ways, and on this episode, Jen and Stephanie interview Dr. Rachel Gonzalez-Martin to better understand how much established narratives impose restrictions upon the learning environment, undermining the identity and creativity of students and faculty alike. Whose descriptions of what should be dominate the choices we make in education? But through this conversation, we learn that maintaining individual identity and exhibiting professionalism are not mutually exclusive and that finding sensible alternatives to norms and conventions that traditionally indicate academic rigor does not result in immediate termination. Sarah is a wild spirit. She feels like an Indian Paintbrush blowing in the wind. Beautiful. Colorful. Wild. Passionate. She moves from the soul. She can’t be tamed yet she’s super grounded. She’s one of the best vocalists and artists the town of Nashville has ever seen. She’s also written hits like “Stupid Boy” for Keith Urban and “Dayum Baby” for Florida Georgia Line. Sarah and I get so intimate on this episode. We talk about the bidding war that multiple labels had over her to sign her a decade ago, and how frustrating it was to never have one of her artist singles take off at radio when she knew that music was her destiny. But we also talk about the peace she feels in her life right now. She understands the magic and mystery of life and completely embraces it. This question was sent by Ben, and he writes: Hi Vidas, I just wanted to send you a quick thank-you note. Not only did I learn many a piece with your fingerings, and carefully read your newsletters and listen to your podcasts, but you inspired me to "go public" with my journey learning organ improvisations. Last week I posted my "organ/music diary" (http://my-music-diary.com) to some online organ groups. I've already gotten plenty of hits and great feedback. But just wanted to let you know that we organists are indebted to you for creating a great online forum for all organ lovers. Kind regards, Ben
