How do science-minded Christians make sense of the resurrection? This Easter season, Jim Stump tackles that question. After hearing the Gospel accounts read by listeners and staff, he examines some of the differences in the Biblical accounts and considers how we might understand the story as a whole. Then he brings his expertise in the philosophy of science to explore how we can think of resurrection in light of scientific theories that seem to show that when people die, they stay that way. That means the outlet reached out to you and said, hey, we like what you're up to. We've got to get you an interesting angle here, and we want to talk about that."[00:12:40] "You can also pitch it too. I love it. Absolutely. I did not know about that. I'll be saving the journal hashtag journal request now."[00:12:48] "I have heard of, like, being able to reach out to journalists or, you know, local news, you know, individuals that are looking for stories, etcetera. And be able to pitch them that way through Twitter."[00:13:20] "If someone's listening to this right now, they're like, hey, I got a really cool angel story product service, whatever it may be. And I know it'd be a great contribution to this XYZ platform. What's the process that someone takes? To be able to pitch themselves to a media?"[00:13:38] "You can search the hashtag journal request and then also request with an s. You can search calls for submissions on Twitter, the hashtags."[00:14:03] "If you have a specific hook, you can simply go to the publication of your choice."[00:14:40] "You look for the editor for which your topic would fit leadership, marketing, personal development, whatever. You look for that vertical editor. And again, through email, you pitch them in 1 paragraph, you tell them what the hook is going to be."[00:15:14] "If you're in business, you're an entrepreneur, sold entrepreneur, you're in business and you're not seeking out ways to figure out PR while then you're totally missing the beat."[00:15:37] "If you're approaching these opportunities with your ego hanging out and, in an effort, to sell someone on how cool you think that you are, probably not the best approach."[00:15:46] "If you think it's, you know, it's like media 01:01, what's in it for the viewer, what's in it for the reader, that's all they really give a rip about there."[00:16:05] "My business is always going to have 3 approaches or 3 different levels where I'm always going to write for publications because that's my first love."[00:16:47] "Getting earned PR is not hard. It's just figuring out your whole angle, getting that very clear, getting it very concise, and actively pitching. There are so many opportunities. There's you you really don't have to pay, you know, some kind of a get featured service or, you know, pay for the skinny you know, we'll get you in the classified section or whatever. You don't have to pay for that standing stuff. You can really earn it on your own."[00:17:14] "I love what you're doing here because this is not the typical journalist protocol if you will. Usually, it's just head down right and that's just there. It's not but you let that entrepreneur spirit of yours go wild, which is fantastic, which has led to launching a software, having a mastermind, teaching people."[00:18:42] "My question to you is what pops up when they Google you? And if you have a common name, you're gonna be screwed. So, you really have to differentiate yourself from all the John Smiths or whatever. And if people Google you and they see Forbes, entrepreneur, business insider, and they click through and they see, you know, you're sharing wisdom, you're sharing your story, that's when you start to build that credibility."[00:18:02] "Technology makes life, you know, just that much easier."[00:18:31] "PR is incredible brand credibility if you're an entrepreneur or if you are somebody that wants to get your message out to the world. When people want to know who you are, the first thing they do is Google you."[00:19:21] "It's not the best product or service. It's the best-known product or service that wins the market."[00:19:28] "That's where PR can help you, you know, and you get featured or written about PR in a publication like Business Insider, for example, that has 240000000 unique visitors every month. That's going to do something for you, your business, your message."[00:19:42] "So this is a worthy pursuit. It can be earned. There are many opportunities out there. This is something you should spend your time pursuing, and you could do it all on your own."[00:20:05] "If you're looking to build more PR relationships out there, you need to figure out, you know, who those individuals are that you need to develop that relationship with and and make it happen."TopicsEntrepreneurship and Leveraging PRThe Benefits of Contributing to Popular Blogs in 2014The Dangers of Paying for Editorial CoverageThe Benefits of Being a Regular Forbes ContributorPitching a Journal Article to an EditorHow to Manage Your Online Presence with Common NamesThe Value of Self-Growth and Personal Development.Episode LinksConnect with Sebastian Rusk:Beyond The Story PodcastInstagramFacebookConnect with Kimanzi ConstableLinkedInCall to ActionIf you enjoyed this podcast and want to support us, please subscribe on the platform you listen to podcasts from, leave a review and share with your friends. Kimanzi Constable sums up his entrepreneurial journey as “I used to deliver bread for a living, now I write.” Of course, there's more to his story than this. A lot more. Through his relentless pursuit for building a profitable six-figure online business, he's now the author of four books, has appeared on over 250 podcasts, and has written articles for over 80 publications including Forbes and Business Insider. * Yes, at one time he did deliver bread. In fact, he started a vacation relief service for commercial drivers when he was 19 years old and primarily took on routes for Sara Lee Bakery. Although it was financially successful, Kimanzi admits that operational oversights and mismanagement led to him to eventually shut it down. * Shortly afterward, through introspection, he decided he wanted a better lifestyle for himself. One where he could spend more quality time with his family without the fear of burnout constantly looming. That search led him to study those who successfully built online businesses free from geographical boundaries. Soon, he co-founded Results Global Impact Consulting (RGIC). Together, he and his wife and co-founder, Cindy, teach others how to capitalize on their expertise and showcase it through content marketing strategy and implementation. * In this episode, Kimanzi reveals how they use ActiveCampaign, an email marketing software, to share lessons on how to leverage large media publications to increase visibility, build brand authority, and grow revenue. He also explains why, despite all the emerging digital marketing technologies, email marketing is still one of the most effective ways to communicate with your customers and network. Discover how to take your personal or business brand from obscure to visible or from unknown to mainstream and watch your profitability soar! *

Many of us have faced insurmountable challenges in life where we almost gave up, but we didn’t. Kimanzi Constable delivered bread for 12 years but he had to wake up in the middle of the night to start his work. He wrote a journal about the experiences of those 12 years that turned into his first book, “The Tales of Everyday Working Man and Woman.” Like most authors, he needed to sell his book but figured that guesting on podcasts is one way of achieving this, as well as learn the basics of SEO. Kimanzi shares that to become a writer for Fortune or Entrepreneur Inc., you don’t need to be an expert, you just have to show people that you do know what you’re talking about in your topic. Hi, I'm Kimanzi :) In the last five years, my books have sold over 100,000 copies. I have spoken at conferences and companies in 36 countries. You can see my articles in the largest websites in the world and I have helped thousands build their dream lifestyle business. I can clearly remember the day I knew I had to make some major changes in my life. It was three a.m. and I was delivering bread to a grocery store on a brutally cold Wisconsin morning. As I was taking three stacks of bread off the truck and onto a lift, I fell and hit the ground hard. There were about three inches of snow on the ground, so it cushioned my fall, but the reality of my situation hit me like a ton of bricks. If the fall wasn’t bad enough, the bread ended up falling on top of me. This was mid-2011 and my life was a mess. I was over $180,000 in debt. I was 170 pounds overweight. I had owned a bread delivery business for twelve years that I hated more and more. I woke up every day dreaming of a better life but I didn’t do anything about it. After the “bread incident,” I promised myself that I would finally take action on my dream of becoming a writer. That year, I wrote and self-published a book only to have it flop. The book sold five copies in the first six months and those copies went to friends. I spent the rest of 2011 studying how to sell books and build an audience on the Internet. Along the way, I spent over $5,000 on coaches, courses, and on digital information products that I hoped would bring me results. What I got was a lot of hype and not enough practical content to help me build my lifestyle entrepreneurship dream. I spent all of 2012 implementing and taking action. I landed 60 guest posts on various blogs. I was a guest on over 80 podcasts. I networked with anyone who would talk to me. By the end of 2012, I had a lifestyle business that was generating $5,000 a month. I was able to use the income to pay off ALL of my debt. I got to speak at 36 conferences that year, I coached 20 people and helped them with their dream, and I was hungry for more. I was able to sell my bread business and live a life of freedom through lifestyle entrepreneurship. 2013 and 2014 were building years. My business would grow from $5,000 a month to multiple six-figures a year. I got to travel the world speaking at conferences and some amazing companies. I got to experience new cultures and learn more about myself. 2015 was the year that my business exploded. I started that year with an appearance on Smart Passive Income with Pat Flynn–someone I look up to. I started writing for some of the largest websites in the world such as The Huffington Post, Entrepreneur Magazine, Success Magazine, AskMen, The Good Men Project, Mind Body Green, and ten other websites. I got consult contracts at companies in countries that I had always dreamed of going to. My books continued to sell and my coaching clients got impressive results. Today, I live a life I love. I travel the world helping dreamers build a profitable lifestyle business. I am not writing about or speaking on theories here–I have done all of this and more. If you have not signed up for my email list, you should. I deliver fluff-free content every week. Browse the site and find what resonates with you and what you want to accomplish. Connect with me on social media. Let me help you build a successful lifestyle business that gives you control and freedom in your life. Risk Without Regret: Stories from Risk Takers, Inspiring Entrepreneurs, Small Business Owners
I'm in the middle of this amazing book and I stumbled across this epic quote: "You can make your dream happen a lot quicker with two simple tips: 1) cutting out the distractions, and 2) focusing on what is most important." This quote was taken from the book Stop Chasing Influencers by Kimanzi Constable and Jared Easley. Listen to this short podcast episode where I dig in deeper and really explain what this quote means and how it can relate to you.Subscribe to the podcast!Let's face it, distractions are everywhere. It's 2016 and you are flooded with social media, smart phones, movies, tv, etc. everywhere you go. It's extremely hard to block all of that out unless you lock yourself in a dark room with no connection to the outside world.Ok, that's probably a bit extreme, but in this day in age, you must focus on what's important. To do that, you have to discipline yourself. Remove everything that distracts you as best as you can. I took the tv out of my bedroom and cancelled my Netflix. That's a start and it was something easy to let go of.So what are your big goals? What do you want to accomplish with your time in your life? What's the one thing you need to focus on that will get you there? Go do that one thing. Today. Right now.Again, I highly recommend this book. If it sounds like something you'd love to check out, buy it here! Thanks again for listening! Be sure to subscribe/review the podcast on iTunes and I can't wait to share the next episode with you soon. Until next time, take those risks, have no regrets along the way!

Kimanzi has been chasing his dreams for several years and in the process he had stop chasing influencers! Connect with Kimanzi Constable kimanziconstable.com stopchasinginfluencers.com Stop Chasing Influencers was co-written with previous guest and good friend Jared Easley. I had the good fortune to get to meet Kimanzi Constable at Podcast Movement this past summer. He is such a happy, and fun person to be around. Since recording this episode, Kimanzi has finished his fourth book and Stop Chasing Influencers is coming out in about a month! Not to mention all of the other crazy adventures he has had traveling all over Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Read more about Kimanzi Constable For twelve years, I lived a life that could best be described as “existing.” I wanted more from my life but listened to my doubts, fears and the negative voices of other people. I started a service business at nineteen that grew to multiple six figures and had five employees in three states. Here's the thing, though, I didn't know anything about business, and quickly got my family and myself into serious financial trouble. I continued to limp through the business for twelve years, even though it wasn't my dream or passion. Every day I wanted to quit, but without a college degree or any special skills, what could I do? Things came to a breaking point in the summer of 2011. I was over $180,000 in debt, my marriage was falling apart, and my children barely knew me because I was always working. The cherry on the cake was that I was 170 pounds overweight. UGH! In the back of my mind, I had a dream of being a writer. How could that be possible, a guy with no college degree become a writer? More than that, I wanted freedom! Three years ago I finally got fed up enough to stop existing and to do something about my dream. I decided to stop listening to all those things keeping me from a life that my family and I truly deserved. I self-published a book that was a complete flop at first. I sold five copies in the first six months. I was defeated, but determined. I figured out a few things about the Internet and social media. I used some strategy and self-published a second book. To date, both books have sold over 100,000 copies. (The strategies I used are in the free guides, so be sure to sign up for email updates) I got a book deal with a large traditional publisher and my dream of seeing my book (can I say that again, my book) in bookstores became a reality May 1, 2013. I got an invitation to speak at a conference in West Virginia in July of 2012 and have since spoken all over the world. Despite all of these amazing accomplishments, I still have a family to support. The money from the books was good, and so was the money from speaking, but we needed more. We needed some consistent income. So my family and I sat down and thought about what we wanted. We wanted freedom to do what we wanted, to live life on our terms. We wanted to be location independent, where all we would need to make an income was an Internet connection. We've spent four years making that dream a reality. We are now living the dream! I've lost 170 pounds, I quit my day job, and our family moved from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Maui, Hawaii! I'm not teaching you theories here. I've done this in my life and want to help you accomplish your dreams. I'm a contributing writer for the Huffington Post, the Good Men Project, Entrepreneur Magazine, and Mind Body Green. You can do it too! This website is the place for the family man or woman to learn how to create freedom in their work, health, and relationships. I understand what it's like to have a dream, but also have to support a family. My goal is to give you the tools you need to create your dream and make that dream your family's reality. I did it, and I know you can do it, too. I have been married to my beautiful wife Tanya for 17 years.

Kimanzi Constable knows exactly what it’s like to have the cards stacked against him. At 17, he left his parents and spent 6 months living on the street. He got a job delivering bread at midnight which turned from a job he loved to a job he disliked, to a job he hated. He found himself 170lbs. overweight, $180,000 in debt, and in a marriage that was in trouble. I tell you that all of that because I know on at least one point you’re saying, man I know exactly how that feels. But what if I told you that he’s conquered all of that. All of the doubt, debt, the dead end job, and the dying marriage. And if you’re experiencing one of those, or all of them, so can you. Today, we’ll talk about how. Denise Griffitts Interviews Kimanzi Constable I first interviewed author Kimanzi Constable in November of 2012 on Your Partner In Success Radio. He had written and self-published a little book called "Tales of the Everyday Workingman (and Woman)" that he sold an incredible 70,000 copies of (as of that interview date.) For 12 years he worked at a job that he absolutely hated. So much so that his days were consumed with thoughts of quitting. But as a family man with a wife and children to support, that was just not an option. Things came to a breaking point in the summer of 2011. He was over $180,000 in debt, his marriage was falling apart, and his children barely knew him because he was always working. The cherry on the cake was that he was 170 pounds overweight. In the back of his mind he had a dream of being a writer. How could that be possible, a guy with no college degree become a writer? More than that, he wanted freedom! Three years ago Kimanzi finally got fed up enough to stop existing and to do something about his dream. He decided to stop listening to all those things keeping him from a life that he and his family truly deserved. Today he is a contributing writer for The Huffington Post, Entrepreneur Magazine, and Mind Body Green. He is a business editor at The Good Men Project. His mission is to help men and women create true freedom in life. Today we are going to pick up the threads on Kimanzi's tale and find out how he lost 170 pounds and moved his family to Maui, Hawaii. We are going to find out how he came so far, so fast, and how you can as well. Yes, you can do that!

Check out the local paper and use the Internet for research. Go local. Go interstate and eventually, go international! Consulting at companies Companies paid consultants $39.3 billion last year You can consult at anything you want (ex. mindset consulting, copywriting, podcasting, etc.) Going from company to company How do you approach these companies: Again, start local. Start where you live. Look for small to medium companies. Know a company’s problem so you would know what to pitch to them. Pitch to a decision maker. Don’t send cold emails. Talk with somebody. The right way to do your pitch: Give them data. Do your research. Show how you can help. Tell them how much it’s going to cost. Today I am chatting with author and speaker Kimanzi Constable. For 10 years Kimanzi worked at a job that he absolutely hated and every single day he dreamed of quitting but like so many of us, dreaded losing the steady income and didn't know what life would look like without the stability of a "job job". There were many things that he wanted to change in his life. He was overweight and in fact lost 132 pounds in 8 months only to put it all back on, plus some! He was living in a state that has extreme winters and he likes warm climates. In fact, his plan is to move from Wisconsin to Maui in 2012. Kimanzi finally got so sick of hearing himself complain, either out loud or internally and committed to stop making useless excuses and take action on his dreams. He wrote and self-published a book about finding our work and find work that you love. This book has sold an astonishing 70,000 copies to date! He then went on to write I'm Not changing My Life for You! I'm Doing it for Me! and The Difference Between Living and Existing: a Nine Month Plan to Radically Change Your Life. Please join us to find out if you are living or just existing. We appreciate you tuning in to this episode of Your Partner In Success Radio with Host Denise Griffitts. Features and benefits are essential to your product or service, but we can't forget that people are doing the buying, and those people love a great story; especially one they can relate to and retell. Steve Jobs said, “Story is job one.” Andy Andrews read biographies that led to The Seven Decisions and his best selling book The Traveler's Gift. He is a master storyteller and the power of these stories helped Andy connect with his audience and sell hundreds of thousands of books and build a worldwide platform. I recently read a blog from Kimanzi Constable explaining the struggles he experienced selling his first two e-books. I asked him to elaborate and he responded, “I would tell people why they NEEDED the books and how they'll benefit their lives, no one would listen. I even had close friends that stop being friends with me on Facebook because of the spamming.” “I figured out the best way to connect with people is through my story, so instead of posting the links and sharing the benefits, I started sharing something specific from my story. People clicked because they can relate to the things I did and was going through. They just didn't want to be preached at.” Kimanzi stopped spamming and started connecting and went on to sell over thirty-thousand books and is becoming a sought after speaker around the world. Ask yourself, am I pushing or pulling people? Anytime you take short cuts and try to close the deal without leading people through the proper steps of a sales process, people feel pushed and they will resist. Take the time to connect by telling a good story. Listen closely to theirs. When they know you better, they may like you and trust you. Then you will have earned the right to ask for their business. Have a good week! Pierce
