Delek, Noble and a relatively small Israeli company called Ratio were the main ones responsible for finding and extracting the gas - but should they retain the rights to profit from it? WISCONSIN MUSIC PODCAST Episode 024 Gary Tanin / Daystorm Music Audio Engineer, Music Producer, and Publicist Gary Tanin (born Gary Stefan Tanin, 19 September 1952, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin) is a veteran Milwaukee musician/producer/engineer with a career spanning decades and reflecting two central themes: music and technology. Biography At age 16, Tanin had already laid the foundation for his calling when landed a record deal with Odessa Records, recording his original material. While attending the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee during the early 70's, Tanin apprenticed as an audio engineer at ARCO Recording Studios where he studied the Art and Science of audio recording and production. In the mid 70s he released the critically acclaimed, self-produced concept album Otto & The Elevators. In the early 80's he foresaw the unique possibility of combining newly emerging computer technology with music. He produced dozens of artists during the 70s and 80s. He has had numerous articles published in industry publications, including the CMC Source Book and AfterTouch(tm). These special interests led to Tanin's work with garageband.com co-founder Jerry Harrison (of the rock band Talking Heads).  Harrison contributed to Sublime Nation, Tanin's 1995 solo CD released by MultiMusicaUSA. In addition to Sublime Nation, Gary has released several national critically acclaimed CDs of his own and produced local, national, and international artists. Tanin's Japanese/US release, XPensive Dogs, is an intercontinental fusion of east and west. A follow-up to XPensive Dogs, entitled DOG EAT DOG, was released in 2004. Japanese label Hard Disc International released XPensive Dogs, and Sublime Nation was released in Japan on the Mouse Records imprint. Tanin's entire catalog is being distributed in the US by RockIt Records (USA).[3] Gary Tanin has produced for bands like the BoDeans, Monovox, and Sam Llanas, and mastering for the likes of ex-Violent Femmes drummer Victor DeLorenzo and Daryl Stuermer (of Phil Collins and Genesis fame). Guitarist/Songwriter David Fitzpatrick who has led Milwaukee’s Dave Fitzpatrick Band for decades will release his first major solo work entitled “Parachutes in Hurricanes” on Daystorm Music. Known for his production résumé, musician/engineer/producer Gary Tanin (Jack Spann, Sam Llanas, Roger Powell, Daryl Stuermer) was recruited to collaborate on Fitzpatrick’s solo opus due to arrive April 27th.    Nearly three years in the making, many musicians provided their artistry along with core members of David’s band. Fitzpatrick and Tanin spent countless session hours crafting the melodies and arrangements that resulted in the compositions on the album. “It was an extensive undertaking that could only have been steered by this songwriter’s single-minded passion for perfection,” explains producer Gary Tanin, “It took David's uncompromising excellence, courage, persistence, and dedication to the art form. I'm extremely proud of our achievement.”

I was finally able to catch up with Tanin Sammanee after not seeing him for almost two years. I remember when he first came into my office and was explaining to me that he was building Seascope as an outgrowth of some successful tools he had built for himself and his friends that were very interested in trading stocks on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. I remember thinking at the time that the model he was building was not going to work...I may have been right at the time, but I am wrong today. Tanin and his team have built some groundbreaking technology that is automating large swaths of the fund management business.
