The First Part in our Brothers Brought Low Trilogy Michael Douglas being a desperate (and often times very sweaty) asshole is something like movie comfort food here at the TiT offices... HOWEVER David Fincher's THE GAME is not a film that your two hosts can agree upon. Such gentlemanly episodes are saved for verified classics like TOWER HEIST (coming this Thanksgiving if that threat doesn't have you unsubscribing before then) but this conversation is all about what Sean Penn got wrong with his brotherly birthday gift to Mr. Douglas. And then it's about how wrong (AND STUPID) the host that just said anything was wrong with this picture is. And so on and so forth. Enjoy! Phase 3 of Kibbe and Friends is officially here, and Holley is back for more fun, foolishness, and flying orange Chargers! Once again we're proud to be associated with the historic name that has made cars fast for years and years, and their innovations continue forward (as always)! Visit https://www.holley.com and tell them we sent you! ======================================== Roadkill – Finale As you have heard already the rumors circulating the closing of Motor Trend Productions are all true. Unfortunately the shows housed and produced by Motor Trend are no more. This does include “Roadkill,” its flagship and genre changing show. It's a bi-product of being owned by a large conglomerate as well as being a niche of a niche of entertainment media. All episodes filmed not yet released will be aired over the winter of 2025/2025 but no further will be created. We discussed the news of it all and and some point we'll have Mike Finnegan our friend (and Kibbe and Finnegan show co-founder) on to chat about it. No matter what spin you put on it the reality of Roadkill both creating and changing the automotive space are complexly undeniable. David Frieburger and Mike Finnegan made a team that were the best of the best in automotive tom-foolery entertainment. We loved them too! David Freiburger has given a good explanation the situation along with what's next for the full band of Motor Trend characters (visit TheDrive.com for more on that). While none of us know whether Roadkill will ever return on a different platform, it does seem like the sun has set on it and this last piece of legacy automotive media is officially over. In the short term we know that everyone has moved on to YouTube (if they hadn't already) and we can continue to have them in our lives there! Thanks, boys. It was magical! ======================================== Thanksgiving Movie Review: "Tower Heist" K&F Movie Summary: Tower Heist is the automotive Thanksgiving movie classic you didn't know you were missing until now, especially if you're Corndog! This movie stars a MASSIVE cadre os actors including Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Alan Alda, Casey Afflect, Tea Leoni, Mechael Pena, and Matthew Broderick. This is the tale of a group of not quite as cool as Oceans 11 people that get taken by a Ponzi scheme by Hawkeye from MASH. And then – to get their money back – they steal Steve McQueen's Ferrari from the top of Trump Tower during the Thanksgiving Parade, all using a handy roof crane. You will laugh, you will squirm, and you will probably be looking up during the Thanksgiving Day Parade from here on out…..so you don't get squished by a Ferrari made of gold. This movie is a forgotten gem that has everything going for it. ======================================== Join up via Patreon at patreon.com/KFSHOW Kibbe, Corndog, and the Bern! We hope you all ate 50 pounds of food and are now ready for a heist – a tower heist! Blend yourself a smoothie of potatoes and gravy, and let's get the money back that is owed to you. Josh Kovaks (Ben Stiller) is a diligent manager of a wealthy condo complex and does everything that is asked of him – and more! This includes supervising the pensions of the employees at the tower. When Arthur Shaw (Alan Alda) is arrested, it becomes clear that he has stolen all the employees' pensions, and he is most likely going to walk. Hard work leads Josh to only losses when the game is rigged. With some ego prodding from FBI agent Claire Denham (Téa Leoni), Josh enlists the help of an incredible group of people with special skill sets. Slide (Eddie Murphy) trains them to become criminals. Charlie (Casey Affleck) flip flops through the plan. Enrique (Michael Peña) oversees all things electric. Odessa (Gabourey Sidibe) can crack any safe. Mr. Fitzhugh (Matthew Broderick) is a human calculator and simply amazing. If they can get their acts together, this team might get some payback. RTS will sneak through backrooms and elevators during this covert mission. La-Mar and Collin will be drinking cranberry martinis while distracting you with the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Why spend on Black Friday when you can take it back?

Chris has interviewed many VFX supervisors and directors on the podcast, but it's rare to meet someone who does both. Not only does Yuval Levy direct (and creative direct) commercials for the likes of BMW, Ford, and Microsoft, but he's also VFX supervised a wide variety of Hollywood films, including The Adjustment Bureau, Smile, and Tower Heist. Yuval and Chris dive deep into the world of car commercials, discussing the benefits of shooting in the real world versus using CG. You'll learn what makes Nascar vehicles unusual, the secrets of Emily Blunt's dancing in The Adjustment Bureau, plus what a U-Crane is (and was). Yuval finishes with a little insight on upcoming movies Beau is Afraid and The Nickel Boys, plus his thoughts on advances in AI.

Our first two-part episode of CGI Fridays – and if you've caught up with Episode 6, you'll understand why – Australian-born veteran of small and large screen CG is, like many Aussies, a natural raconteur. When we left him he was recalling work on James Cameron's epic Titanic – which in 1997 overtook Star Wars' box office records – so it's appropriate that we rejoin him for CGI Fridays Episode 7 in the climatic final chapter of the Prequel Trilogy. Returning to the podcast is our guest.. Darien Sills Evans (Abc's The Connors, CBS's East New York). We asked him to comeback to the podcast to give his unbiased opinion on some Eddie Murphy movies that he had never seen before. We talk about the awkward marketing of the movie "Holy Man"; Why I never did an official episode of "Holy Man"; Eddie's movies in the 90s; The insane plot of "Another 48hrs"; possibly getting Doug E Doug, Jeffrey Joseph (Google Him) or Kadeem Hardison on the podcast & Terrible but fun movies of the early 1990s. We drop names of different movies toward the end. You might wanna google them as well ("Def By Temptation", "Heart Condition". "Hanging with The Homeboys"....etc)Also Darien Sills Evans directed a movie that I highly recommend called "One Bedroom" (Amazon) Support the show

Welcome to the "Not Quite Best of" Best of 2011. There were many requests but not everything could be included...so, blame the intern if this doesn't meet your approval. Big thanks to Laremy, Robopanda, and listener Matt B for their input. All music is from Burnsy's Corner, well, except for one song. 00:00:51 - We kick things of with some Frotcast lore: the introduction to poop transplants, a bizarre (or normal) trip to Vegas, a vivid description of the aliens from Cowboys and Aliens, and a certain kind of hair removal. [Hint: It's butthole Nairing!] 00:18:38 - The guys discuss the law of the streets, a group film review goes awry, Brendan's interaction with a creepy guy at a bachelor party, and "Erection, your onion," -- the Swedish gibberish episode, a must-listen. 00:37:10 - We listen to the banshee known as Jesse Jane at the AVN Awards, a tribute to Fake Bret, lothario Brendan discusses his love making skills, what happens when you introduce a banana phone into a poop transplant procedure, and the guys learn some interesting facts about Thomas Kinkade, the painter of light. 00:55:22 - The only way to review Tower Heist is with Jamaican accents, the amazing talents of Cytheria, and don't take the law into your own hands: take 'em to haters court. 01:16:33 - MMA attributes, Lindy reads the writings of Drunken Expat Writer, fun with Shia Labeouf's name, the eeriest (yet spot on) impersonation of Willem Dafoe, and Vince gets frustrated at Comic-Con. Bonus track - Lindy West gets drunk, and inadvertently starts the "Kirk Douglas's corpse going down a log flume with a boner mini-meme."
This week, we talk to Vince's classmate at Columbia and published author, Matthew Parker (00:02:07). Matthew discusses with us his life in jail AND prison starting at the age of 13, getting busted for counterfeiting, and becoming a free man in March of 2002. He compares county jail, state and federal prison to the higher education system, and describes what lead to his addiction to heroin and quitting for good at the age of 40. Vince and Matthew reminisce about their time at Columbia, and how a piece of Matthew's got published in the NY Times that led to him getting an agent. His graphic memoir "Larceny in My Blood: A Memoir of Handcuffs, Heroin, and Higher Education" will be released on August 7th and is available for pre-order on Amazon. Then we get into Burnsy's Corner to discuss the worst movies of the year (00:44:49). Burnsy should be considered an American hero for watching both Bucky Larson and Jack and Jill. You should check out his Top 10 post on FilmDrunk if you haven't done so all ready. Not to spoil Burnsy's list, but "Tower Heist" earned the #1 spot. Vince thinks that's bullshit, but they both agree the film is fantastically insulting to viewers. The discussions soon dissolves into who's more polarizing; Bret, Fake Bret, or Lindy. Vince pulls out a timely Fatty Arbuckle reference, and a hypothetical discussion of how one would go about making jizz angels pops up. After last weeks Christmas songs, Burnsy brought some Hannukah songs for all the heathens to listen to (01:03:00). Vince gets mistaken for a Joo. Flaming manginas and turkish knife fights are brought up. The final segment deals with Vince Mangina and his merkin, Chuck Liddell and his eternal mohawk, and science (xyience??) (01:17:09). Brendan goes through Vince's notebook while he steps out. We talk about our best films of 2011. Somehow Transformers 3 (guess who) gets mentioned along with Drive, Hesher, X-Men: First Class, Thor, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Midnight in Paris, Cedar Rapids, 50/50, and Like Crazy. Vince's top pick is Elite Squad 2 from Brazil. Tim and Eric's Million Dollar Movie gets mentioned, as well as the reactions to their absurdist humor. Cool uncle names gets talked about. From the news and listener emails we talk about the guy who died from eating cocaine from his brother's butt, Brendan gets some tips on dealing with Vince's hecklers, and we learn about a crazy Florida radiologist who is raising money for Joran Van der Sloot. For more movie news you can make fun of, go to www.filmdrunk.com.
Dave lays down his rules about listening to Christmas music and digs up an embarrassing article from the past, while Alonso wonders why Brett Ratner's new caper movie couldn't be as fun as, say, HOW TO BEAT THE HIGH CO$T OF LIVING. Can you even believe that this show is a year old?
BRUCE ROBINSON, writer and director of "Withnail and I", live in the studio on his new film "The Rum Diary" starring Johnny Depp. Plus the Box Office Top 10 and Mark Kermode's reviews of the week's new releases including "Tower Heist", "In Time" and the remake of "Straw Dogs.".
Lindy West is in the house! Lindy is live in the Frotquarters, and hilarity ensues. Vince explains the amazing plot of Tower Heist, and the Frotcast then devolves into a discussion about hipsters, Lindy in LA, and Brendan giving us the most amazing impression of every Peter named actor we can think of. Great times were had. DRUNK ON! For movie news you can make fun of, go to www.filmdrunk.com.
