Pastor Andy Davis preaches on Mark 5: 21-43. Christ's miraculous healings were meant to bring sinners into a reconciled, personal, intimate relationship with the Almighty God. - SERMON TRANSCRIPT - I. “We Are Weak, But He Is Strong” Turning your Bibles to Mark 5, we continue our incredible journey through this gospel of Mark. When our kids were little, Christi and I would put them to bed using bedtime rituals, and we would sing them songs. For a while, one of the songs that we sang, of course is Jesus Loves Me, which you know very well. “Jesus loves me, this I know for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to him belong, they are weak, but he is strong.” “They are weak, but he is strong.” Friends this is a message for everyone. For all of us. To some degree, we all have to become like little children in order to be saved. Jesus said this in Matthew 18:3, , "Truly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven." All of us underestimates both sides of that statement, how weak we are and how strong He is. We all have to come to understand both sides of that, how weak we are, how strong Jesus is, but we tend to think of ourselves as so very powerful, don't we? The tower of Babel, for example, displayed man arrogant because of his technological inventiveness, the ability now to make bricks that could be stacked higher than ever before, and build a tower that reached up to heaven. If anything, the human race is even more arrogant now. We actually have built a rocket and flown to the moon less than seven decades after Orville and Wilbur built the first airplane. So we tend to think that we are powerful. We have ridden the coattails of modern science to defeat countless diseases like polio and smallpox. We think we are powerful. We have flexed our muscles to build ever more devastating weapons, even harnessing the power of the atom to build thermonuclear weapons that can erase whole cities in an instant. We think that we are powerful. We probe the mysteries of the genetic code of nature and develop seeds and genetically engineered living organisms. We think we are powerful. We have unleashed the power of the electron and digital technologies and developed stunningly powerful computers that perform astonishing feats. We think we are powerful, but friends, we are weak. We have not conquered nature. The wind still blows wherever it wishes, and we cannot stop it. We don't even know where it's going. We have not conquered space, for the distance of the nearest star will forever mock our insignificant achievement of going to the moon and back. We've not conquered disease for people still suffer daily of diseases, which continue to defy medical science. We have not conquered sin for people still lust and rage and defraud and wage war against one another daily. We have not conquered death for the death rate continues 100%. In the face of this overwhelming weakness, in the face of this, Jesus came to save us and to show us that though we are weak, He is strong, and He is strong for us on our behalf. We see the awesome power of Jesus displayed in these gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, in his miracles. The miracles of Jesus put on plain display his awesome power in ways that absolutely boggle the mind. We've seen his power over the wind in the waves simply saying to raging storm, a hurricane, “peace be still” and instantly the wind stopped, the sea became as calm and placid as a mill pond, just at his word. We saw him deal last week with a wretched maniac, I think the most wretched human being in biblical history. No one, I think, was more wretched, more powerless tormented by a legion of demons, maybe as many as 6,000 demons. Despite their overwhelming supernatural power, they knew clearly that they were no match for Jesus. They were terrified of him. They caused the man that they had dominated to run and fall on his knees before Jesus and confess Jesus to be the son of the most high God. Jesus effortlessly commanded those demons with the single word, “Go”, and they went.Tthe 2,000 pigs rushed down the steep bank into the sea and were drowned. Jesus' power was absolute, complete, effortless. He's the absolute master over all demons, over every disease, even over nature itself. But what about death? Our final and greatest enemy. What about death? In the account that we will begin this week and finish next week, God willing, we're going to see Jesus's absolute power over death in raising a little girl, Jairus' daughter, from the dead. We are all weak before the power of death, but Jesus rules over death. He rules absolutely over death. He says in Revelation 1:18, "I am the living one. I was dead and behold I am alive forever and ever, and I hold the key of death in the grave." Jesus claims absolute mastery in power over death. He did that by his own death and his own resurrection. But in the midst of all this awesome power of Jesus, we also see his tender mercies. We see his relational tenderness, his desire for intimacy with us, the basic promise of the gospel and the most important verse in the Bible for me is Matthew 5:3, "Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." I think that word “poor” means “beggars”, so I translated it in my mind. “Blessed are the spiritual beggars for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” To enter the kingdom of heaven, you have to acknowledge that you are a spiritual beggar. You are weak, powerless, destitute, actually even repulsive. To come to Christ, you have to see him as powerful and capable of saving you, but you also have to see Jesus as tender and compassionate, willing to receive you. This account that we are following today and will again, God willing next week shows two spiritual beggars who have absolutely nothing to offer to Jesus. They're both desperate and they know it. "To enter the kingdom of heaven, you have to acknowledge that you are a spiritual beggar. You are weak, powerless, destitute, actually even repulsive." First, we have a father, Jairus, whose little 12 year old daughter is dying, and his heart is being torn to shreds. He casts all dignity aside and falls down before Jesus to beg for his help on her behalf. Second, we have a woman with a bleeding problem which has lasted as long as that little girl has been alive, 12 years. She's physically defiled, she's spiritually outcast. She is effectively no better than a leper in that society. She's desperate. She has done everything she could to be healed and has nowhere else left to turn. It's two spiritual beggars who know that they're weak and who believe that Jesus is strong, but they're also going to find out how tender Jesus is in his affections, his mercies toward weak spiritual beggars. What's the context of this account in Mark's gospel? The central message of Mark’s Gospel is declared right at the very beginning, Mark 1:1, “The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the son of God.” The word “gospel” means “good news”, so that Jesus is the son of God is our good news. That's the gospel. Jesus is the gospel. The attributes of Jesus are put on display so that by reading these accounts, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, by reading them all, we come to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the living God, and that by believing, we may have eternal life in his name, full forgiveness of sins. Now, we have just read the most astonishing day of Jesus' life in terms of spectacular displays of his power. It's not going to get more spectacular than what we've seen. The stilling of the storm or hurricane with a word, I mean that's spectacular. Then the driving out of the most spectacular exorcism recorded in the Word, the gospels in the New Testament, the driving out of a legion of demons. That wretched man has now been saved from the demons, but not just saved from the demons, he's saved. Like we understand, his sins are forgiven. He wants a relationship with Jesus. He wants to spend the rest of his life with Jesus. Jesus does not let him, but sends him home to his family. He sends him on mission to go to his family and tell them how much God has done for him, and how He has had mercy on him. So the man goes off on his mission. Tragically, however, we saw also the people of that region, of the Gerasenes, are more afraid of Jesus than they were of this demon possessed, man. They could live with him. They were putting up, they just stayed away from that area, but they didn't want Jesus there, they ask him to go. Jesus never forces himself on any unwilling people, the demons do that. Jesus never forces himself. Instead, what he does is He makes people willing to have him through the spirit. That's the transformation of our inner nature. The heart of stone removed, the heart of flesh given, and central to it is, "I want Jesus in my life." He doesn't ever force himself. And now He just gets in the boat and leaves and crosses back across the Sea of Galilee. In this account that you heard read, you have effectively a double account. It's like one of those wooden Russian dolls. You know those nested dolls, where you take one out and then the next one pops in. You get a miracle within a miracle going on here. Just in my judgment as a preacher, I was like, "There's no way I want to run through this," so we're going to focus on the beginning of the story with Jairus, but we're going to interrupt it. Then as Jesus was interrupted, we have that second miracle, the healing of this woman, the bleeding woman. Then, God willing, we will finish the account of Jairus, the resurrection of Jairus' daughter next week. II. The First Beggar: A Desperate Father We start with the first beggar, this desperate father. Look at verses 21- 24. “When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake. Then one of the synagogue rulers named Jairus came there. Seeing Jesus, he fell at his feet and pleaded earnestly with him, ‘My little daughter is dying. Please, come and put your hands on her so that she'll be healed and live.’ So Jesus went with him.” The account begins with something that we should recognize by now as a reality in Jesus' life, the constant crush of the crowd. This has been a regular feature of Jesus's ministry. Every day of Jesus's public life at this point, his life, there are literally thousands of people who want to be around him. The reason for this is his astonishing healing ministry. His reputation as a healer has gone out far and wide. There was no disease or sickness He could not heal. He did it effortlessly. So people came, thousands came. Beyond this, to some degree, they came because of his reputation as a teacher. There were some people there who just wanted to hear him teach. Mark 1:22 says, "The people were amazed at his teaching because he taught them as one who had authority and not as their teachers of the law." Later in John's Gospel, John 7:46, "No one ever spoke the way this man does." They wanted to hear him give the words of life, so some of them were there for that. Remember how Jesus had to sit out in a boat to get away from the crush of the crowd so they could hear him and enable him to teach? There was a huge crowd, and, in the midst of this crowd is this man, Jairus. He's a powerful man, a leader in the community, he's called the synagogue ruler. The synagogue was the center of Jewish life out in the communities, outside of Jerusalem. So out in the hinterlands, you've got synagogue, the place where the Jews would gather together every week on the Sabbath to hear the word of God. The Old Testament, we know it's the Old Testament read and taught now to be a synagogue. To be a ruler meant to be a leading man of the community, a man of power, a man of piety. Almost certainly. He would've been a Pharisee because they really controlled the religious life of Israel. But the Pharisees have already blacklisted Jesus to some degree. We don't know how official this is at this point, but they are against him because He's violating their understanding of the Sabbath. He's already doing things they consider to be blasphemous, declaring people's sins forgiven, calling himself the Lord of the Sabbath. That'll do it right there, so already there against him. And I think most significantly, psychologically, they are against him because He rejected their piety. He said, "Unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees, you're not going to heaven." So He's saying they're not going to heaven as they are. Their righteous is not enough, and they took offense to that. Later, by the time we get the healing of the man born blind in John's gospel, John chapter 9, it's clear that the Jewish authorities had already decided that if anyone said that Jesus was the Messiah, they would be put out of the synagogue, blacklisted from Jewish life. So we're on the way to there if we're not already there. But Jairus was not thinking about any of that, was he? There was one thing on his mind and only one thing, his little girl. She's dying, and despite all of his power and all of his piety, he knows he's weak in the face of this. There's nothing he can do to save her. Her life is like a flickering candle. It's about to be snuffed out at any moment. Indeed, it was while Jesus was on route. That's how close to death she was. Now, Jairus knows Jesus reputation. He's convinced that Jesus can heal his daughter if only he can come there in time, so he comes and makes a desperate request. Look at verse 22, 23, "He fell at his feet and pleaded earnestly with him. My little daughter is dying, please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live." He throws himself on the ground prostrate before the feet of Jesus, and in doing this, he has officially thrown his reputation out the window with the Pharisees. They hate Jesus. He doesn't care about that at all. He's treating Jesus like a king, perhaps even like the son of God, though I'm sure he doesn't really understand what that means. The Greek verb here in verse 23 speaks of “desperate treaties.” "He beseeches him greatly," the text says, "I'm begging you, Jesus, come. She's at the point of death, right at the edge. She's been getting worse and worse." And that was whenever he saw her last. I get the feeling, he was waiting for Jesus to come back from the region of the Gadarenes. He's right there on the shore waiting for him. Remember that messengers have to come and tell him what's going on, that she's died. I picture him waiting there for Jesus to get back. Jairus knows that Jesus is the only one that can save her life. It's interesting to ponder, if the people of the Gadarenes had asked Jesus to stay, instead of demanded that He left, and if He had yielded to their desires, she would've died, the moment where the window would've passed. Everything is orchestrated by the mighty perfect plan of God here. Jesus leaves the Garasenes, goes across and hears Jairus waiting for him. Jairus knows he cannot demand anything from Jesus. He's a beggar with nothing to offer. His power, his position, his wealth, his piety mean nothing. If Jesus doesn't come and save her, she will die. There's nothing that Jairus can do to force Jesus to come if He doesn't want to come. So just, I want to say to all of you that are listening to me, stop right there. Put yourself in that position. Do you see yourself as a beggar with nothing to offer God. You have nothing in your hands that you're bringing that's of any interest to him. No way to beguile him, to turn his attention toward you. Do you see that if Jesus were not willing to die in your place under the wrath of God, you could never persuade him to do it? "Would you please drink the cup of God's wrath against me? Would you please shed your blood on the cross for me? So I can go to heaven and not hell, would you do that for me?" There's nothing you could do to make him do that. If He’s not willing. We are truly beggars. "Do you see yourself as a beggar with nothing to offer God? ... Do you see that if Jesus were not willing to die in your place under the wrath of God, you could never persuade him to do it?" One of the most moving moments when I was studying the life of Martin Luther was the words of his death. He was dying, he knew it. His final words were in two languages, first German, and then Latin.” We are all beggars. This is true.” Those are his final words, and then he died. Do you see yourself that way? Do you see yourself as a sinner saved by the grace of God in Jesus Christ? That's our gospel. That's what we're hoping in. We are all beggars. Jairus comes with a limited faith. Now faith is not all of one kind. It's not static, it can grow, it can develop. We can be those of little faith and grow into greater faith. There's little doubt at the beginning of their encounter, Jairus believes Jesus can heal his daughters. There's no doubt actually about that. If only can get there in time to place his hand on her, he does not imagine that Jesus can heal her remotely. He doesn't think about that. He's got to get there. He's not thinking at this point that He's going to raise her from the dead. It's not on his mind. Jesus is going to work on this man's faith during their time together. By the end of the entire encounter, his faith will be far beyond what it was at the beginning of the encounter. We also see in this, Jesus's availability in his humility.Ttime and time again, people come in and treat of Jesus and He just yields to them, He just does what they want. Jairus comes and begs, he just gets up and goes. Jesus came to be, as Mark 9:35 says, a servant of all. Other people's needs were more important to him than his own. He never refused. He never said, "Can't you see I'm busy here?" Or thought himself too important for others or sighed and said, "I really think I've done enough for one day." Never. It's not his attitude. We are so selfish, aren't we? We pass every request, every opportunity to serve or whatever through the grid of what's pleasing to us or whether we're willing or not. Jesus just wasn't that way. He was serving of all. Now, the crowd came along too. They're going everywhere Jesus goes. Look at verse 24, "So Jesus went with him and a large crowd followed and pressed around him." This crowd was literally crushing him physically. When Christii and I were missionaries in Japan, I had the opportunity one weekday morning, somewhere around 8:15 in the morning to take a local train from Cobe to Osaka in Japan. What was I thinking? Some of you will know how ridiculous and foolish that is because that local train made four stops. The first, when we all got on in Cobe was the most crowded train I've ever been on. Those four stops, not a single person got off, but about... It seemed that same number of people got on. There are these Japanese officials with white gloves on whose job is to shove people physically into the train. I don't have claustrophobia, except I did that day. I was standing there and all of these people are crushing in on me so that I could not expand my rib cage to get the air that apparently my cells needed to stay alive, so I was breathing like I had emphysema. I was panting at the top of my breath, just hoping that ride would continue and then we'd get to the next local stop, but then more people are getting on. Unbelievable. The Greek gives us a sense that that's kind of what's going on here. In Luke 8:42, it says, "As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him." The Greek is literally “choking him.” They're depriving him of air, He's crushed by these people. III. The Second Beggar: A Desperate Woman On route, we see the second beggar, a desperate woman. Look at verse 25, "And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years." Let's talk about her condition. The bleeding problem was almost certainly a female problem, a gynecological problem. It tells us that she'd been suffering in this condition for an incredible twelve years. Clearly, the bleeding was not life threatening, she was not bleeding out, but her condition was life altering in that Jewish context. She was considered to be spiritually defiled because of the blood. In the law of Moses, such a condition rendered her spiritually unclean, unable to participate in Jewish life, Leviticus 15:25, "When a woman has a discharge of blood for many days at a time other than her monthly period, or has a discharge that continues beyond her period, she will be unclean as long as she has the discharge." Long as it goes, she's unclean. She could not go to the synagogue. Anyone who touched her would be unclean. That's what made her effectively a leper, not a lot of difference actually. These laws were not just meant for the hygiene of the Jewish people, but also to teach a spiritual lesson. One of the more famous verses in Isaiah, Isaiah 64:6 says, "All of us, all of us have become like one who is unclean. And all our righteous acts are like filthy rags." The Hebrew related to the rags as used for such a flow of blood. All of our most righteous acts are defiled in the sight of God. People who think that they're going to save themselves by their good works, hoping their good works outweigh their bad, they don't have any good works. Romans 3 makes it plain, “There is no one who does good.” All of our righteous acts are defiled like that. It's a picture of that. So this woman was desperate, and she had had desperate measures for years and years. Look at verse 26. I talked to Daphne, me daughter, about this verse driving in. Ponder this story locked up in verse 26, it's hard to read without emotion what it was like, what her life was like. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had yet instead of getting better, she grew worse. It's wave upon wave of sorrow for this woman. It's a quick sketch of what those twelve years have been like for her. It's hard to imagine what she's gone through. The text says, "She had suffered a great deal under the therapies of the primitive doctors of the time." Their therapies, had caused suffering for her. Physically invasive, humiliating, painful, she'd suffered these treatments. The cures were bizarre, invasive, disgusting and ineffective, and they were costly. What a contrast to the words I've given already many times for Jesus' healings. Effortless, effective instantaneous, and free. He didn't charge anything for his healings, but these doctors did. The text says the woman had spent all the money she had on these cures, and they were ineffective. Instead of getting better, she just got worse. Can you sense the desperation she must have had? “There's nothing for me.” She spent all the money she had, she had no money left. Now, she heard the reports about Jesus and that gave her faith. Faith comes by hearing the word. The reports gave her faith. Look at verse 27, 28, "When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak because she thought, ‘If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.’" The reports had reached her ears of Jesus's amazing healings. She'd heard of his tenderness toward women in particular; many of Jesus's most affecting and tender encounters were with women. He treated them with dignity. He treated them with respect, treated them as created in the image of God, treated them with absolute purity. So her faith, when she heard of these accounts was kindled within her, and she made her way to where Jesus was. The text tells us of her faith in his healing power. Her plan was based on Matthew 9:20, to touch the fringe of his garment, the tassel on his garment. These would be down near the ground. Jewish men were required to wear tassels on the edge of their cloaks as constant reminders to keep the law of God. this woman felt all she had to do was get to the hem of his garment, the tassels on his garment, touch them and she'd be healed. She also clearly wanted to avoid the embarrassment of an interaction, so she came in physically low. The fringe of Jesus' robe would've been down near the ground. Picture Jesus, unable to breathe because of the crowd, and she's down near the ground, trampled. She forces her way through the throng, gets down near the ground and reaches her hand out. Verse 29 speaks of the healing, "Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering." Oh, hallelujah, the power of Jesus to bring about this instantaneous healing. Pain was gone instantly. "She could feel," the text says, "In her body, I'm healed." After 12 years. The Greek word translated “suffering”. She was freed from her. Suffering is very strong. “Mastigos”, the same word that would later be used of the flogging that Jesus would undergo for our salvation. John 19:1 uses the same, the flogging, she'd been flogged by this problem, and now it was done. Effectively, Jesus had taken the flogging, her flogging onto himself. It says very beautifully in first Peter 2:24, "He himself bore our sins in his body, on the tree, on the cross so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness by his wounds." You have been healed. So he takes it into himself. "Many of Jesus's most affecting and tender encounters were with women. He treated them with dignity. He treated them with respect, treated them as created in the image of God, treated them with absolute purity. " But now, the text just goes off into infinite mystery. I believe as a theologian, as a pastor, there is no harder, higher mystery in theology than that of the incarnation. We'll never get done thinking about it. The rest of this account has the power to trip the circuit breakers of your mind. Just like, I don't know. I don't understand this. How is it? Look at verse 30 -34. "At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked,”Who touched my clothes?’ "You see the people crowding against you,’ his disciples answered, ‘Yet you can ask who touched me?’ But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her came and fell at his feet and trembling with fear told him the whole truth. ‘He said to her daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.’” There are different ways to read it, but I just really believe the text reads most naturally that he truly did not know who touched him. It wasn't a trick question. He realized that power had gone through, so something hit him. It wasn't voluntary on his part. Power had gone through him and He realized that. it came into his mind, "Power has gone through me," and he was trying to find out who touched him. So here's the thing, the central message is that Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of God, the second person in the Trinity. The incarnate son of God. That means God in the flesh. As God in the flesh, he has godlike nature powers. Powers over nature, such as controlling the wind and the waves. As God in the flesh, he has godlike healing powers, such as driving out demons and healing, every disease and sickness. As God in the flesh, he has godlike knowledge. He has the ability to read people's minds. He knows what's happened far away even if no messengers have come to tell him. He can tell people what's happened in some remote distant location. He knows in detail what's about to happen when he goes into the city of Jerusalem, who's going to be carrying something at a certain moment, amazing. He knows the distant future things that still haven't even happened about the second coming and about the end of the world. Supernatural knowledge. As God in the flesh, he has godlike authority. He has ability to declare to a sinner, "All your sins are forgiven." He has the right to interpret the Sabbath, godlike power to interpret the Sabbath. He has all of that. But clearly, as a man, he's limited physically, He can only be in one place at one time. And as a man, he's limited mentally in some mysterious way. What do I mean by that? God, the first person in the Trinity, God, the Father, has never learned anything and He never will. But when Jesus was growing up, it says in Luke 2:52, that He increased in wisdom. That means He was more wise on day X than He was day X minus 10 or something like that. He learned stuff. He also openly says concerning the events of the Second Coming, "No one knows about that day or hour. Not even the angels in heaven nor the son, but only the father." Wow. So the most natural way to read this is this among the things that Jesus didn't know and had to learn was who had touched him. Then what happened? The power of almighty God went through Jesus to this woman. It's incredible. Then Jesus stands and begins this inquiry. Put yourself in the disciples place. Jesus is getting crushed, He can't breathe, and He just stops, and He's like, "Wait a minute. Who touched me?" This is an interesting moment. Do you not imagine his disciples? They don't want to say it, but it's like, "What a dumb question." They are thinking disparaging thoughts of Jesus, they did it many times. Five minutes later however, after the encounter happened, it's like, "Oh, something did happen." But initially, just initially it's a cautionary tale for all of us, don't ever question Jesus. He always knows what he's doing, always. Never doubt him. Never think low thoughts of him. There was a kind of touch that Jesus had experienced. Unlike all the jostling random crushing actions that was going on, this was different. He said, "Power went through me." As if in our 21st century understanding, He was an electric cable and electric power went through him or some kind of conduit. Now, we've been saying again and again, that all of Jesus' miracles were done only at the will of his Father. He did nothing apart from the will of his Father. He was never on his own thinking of something. He was always in response to what the Father wanted him to do. He sent him out to do the works of the Father. We also have said that Jesus did not do any miracles except from the power of the Spirit. It says in Acts 10:38, "God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the holy spirit and power and how he went around doing good and healing, all who are under the power of the devil, because God was with him by the power of the spirit were all the miracles done." Why would half of them be done by the spirit? Does Jesus says to the Spirit, “You can take the day off. I've got this day, but come back on Wednesday, I'll need you then.” It's ludicrous. He always did his miracles at the leading of the Father by the power of the Spirit. This time, however, He didn't know. It didn't pass through his conscious awareness. So we have this inquiry and this encounter. So why does He do it? Why does He stop and say, "Who touched me?" That's a powerful question, isn't it? And the answer to me is clear. He wanted a face to face encounter with this woman. I don't mean to disparage her, but she seems a little bit like a miracle shoplifter. I can understand it, but it seemed like a smash and grab job here; come and get the miracle and go. She wants out. She does not want any interaction. She's had all that. The doctors, all that. She doesn't want that, she just wants to get well and be gone. But Jesus wanted a relationship with her. She came up behind him. What does He do physically? Turns around and says, "Who touched me," right? He wanted face to face with her. He did not come merely to dispense power, healings. He could have done that from heaven. He came to reconcile us to God that we would have an intimate, close friendship with God.Look at the text, 32-34, Jesus has kept looking around to see who had done it. After his disciples said, "What are you talking about? You see all the people crushing it," Jesus kept looking to see who had done it. Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet, and trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed. You go in peace and be freed from your suffering." The woman did not want this at all. But I would say, don't you think when she looked back on this day the rest of her life, the best part was this encounter, and not the healing. The look on his face, the tenderness with which He spoke to her. The way He called her daughter. The text doesn't say, but I picture him lifting her up to her feet, face to face. He wants that interaction with her and He called her daughter. And it doesn't just say... In one translation, your faith has healed you. But the word is the Greek word for “saved.” Your faith has saved you. The healing's temporary. We're going to die. Our bodies are going to mold in the grave. IV. Healed for a Personal Relationship with Jesus All of the healings are temporary, they're all temporary. But this saving work, now that's eternal, and that's what He wanted. So he calls her daughter. I love John 1:12, it says, "As many has received him to those who believed in his name. He gave the right to become whatchildren of God." We are healed for a personal relationship with Jesus. Sin has estranged us from God. Jesus came to bring about that reconciliation, aright relationship with God. That means an intimate, personal relationship with a loving, tender God, and with Christ who died for us individually. In Galatians 2:20 Paul says that the son of God loved me and gave himself from me personalized. At one time, we were enemies, but now beloved children of God. And he knows us intimately, Isaiah 43:1, "Fear not, for I've redeemed you. I've summoned you by name, you are mine." Think about that. The intimacy that I've summoned you by name, you are mine. John 10:03, "He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out." So do you know that intimate love? Do you know the closeness that Jesus wants with you? Have you felt yourself, a weak defiled, polluted sinner who Jesus came to die for, and that he did die for. He shed his blood so that we might have eternal life. Do you know that? Do you have that sense of intimacy? Do you know that your sins are forgiven by him? Next week, God willing, we will have the chance to finish the miracle concerning the raising of Jairus’ daughter from the dead. "Do you know the closeness that Jesus wants with you? Have you felt yourself, a weak defiled, polluted sinner who Jesus came to die for, and that he did die for. He shed his blood so that we might have eternal life." Now we have a chance to celebrate the Lord's supper. I'm going to close our preaching time and prayer. And as I do, I want you to consider that what's going on with the Lord's Supper is a for-taste of a heavenly banquet that we're going to actually sit, God and man at table. We're going to sit down and feast with God at the table. And this Lord supper is a for-taste of that. Now, we would ask, this is for believers who have testified to their faith in Christ, by repentance and faith and by water baptism. If you've not, we ask that you refrain, but if you have welcome and come to the feast. Let's close in prayer. Father, thank you for the ministry of the word, for the things that we've learned from Mark's Gospel. Thank you for the intimacy you seek with each one of us. Thank you, Lord Jesus for your incredible power, but also for your tenderness and compassion and your love. We thank you for all of these things, and we pray in Jesus name. Amen.

THE THESIS: The Party's Mockingbird Media Is hiding the most important stories of our time because they know, if people found out the truth, the politicians would be forced to turn on The Party bosses.  THE SCRIPTURE & SCRIPTURAL RESOURCES:  Luke 8:17 17 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open. Matthew 10:26 26 “So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. THE NEWS & COMMENT: The magnitude of the Covid crimes cannot stay hidden forever. Where will you be when this is all finally documented as history? What will you be able to say you did to fight this? If you are in “journalism” and healthcare, you will probably be left to either lie--”I didn't know”--or confess: “I knew and did nothing …”  Never did I think I would  watch as Naomi Wolfe came to agree with me on such a major issue. But, she has. Now, Naomi may be one of the most important figures in documenting the ongoing murder of people at the largest, most industrial scale ever in human history . . . the story her former colleagues in “news” and “journalism” refuse to touch: Facing the Beast; Can We Really Confront the Biggest Crime in Human History? (thank you to Podcast family member, Michelle who sent this to me!) Since I first started reading the reports produced by the 3000 medical and scientific experts of the WarRoom/DailyClout Pfizer Documents Research Volunteers team, based on the 55000 Pfizer documents released under court order, I knew I was seeing not just medicine gone wrong, not just a greedy pharmaceutical company and a regulatory agency that was fully corrupted, but rather, or additionally, I was seeing a massive act of war.  When I saw the eighteen months' worth of sudden deaths, slow deaths, encephalies, strokes, heart attacks, pericarditis, myocarditis, Guillain Barre, Bell's palsy, MS, blood clots, lung clots, leg clots, blue-green breast milk, spontaneous abortions, stillbirths, neonatal seizures, neonatal multi-organ system failure, liver damage, kidney damage, suppressed lactation, suppressed sperm count, disrupted menses, all detailed the Pfizer documents; when I saw the fact that 34,000 plus of the 42000 plus adverse events “cases” itemized in the worldwide rollout of the Pfizer injections, were sustained in the US — with the next largest group being sustained in Western Europe - and that the 56 countries around the world that also had Pfizer injections rolled out, amounted for only a bit over 7000 adverse events total — I knew I was seeing not just medicine gone wrong on a massive scale, but rather that I was seeing an act of war. When I saw the doubling of neonatal deaths in country after country, the rise of 34% above normal in stillbirths and spontaneous abortions for vaccinated versus unvaccinated mothers; when I saw that 3816 vaccinated women in the VAERS database lost their babies — 57% of all the neonatal deaths in all the time that VAERS records had been kept — ; when I saw that of 36 pregnancies followed in the Pfizer documents, 28 of the babies died ; when I saw the rise of 40 per cent in death rates and the shocking rise in cases of disability in the West  I knew I was not seeing just medicine gone wrong on a massive scale, but that I was witnessing an act of war. And, the Propaganda of Silence [™] as I have named it is the most powerful weapon the Mockingbird Media has to help the rest of The Party achieve their goals. A Pew Research piece on the views of journalists vs. Americans reveals that most people who work in “news” do not believe they need to provide unbiased reporting by telling all sides of a story. That presents us with an obvious follow-up question: which side of the story do they tell?  This study shows why most Americans don't trust the media.  It's because the media doesn't trust most Americans.  Reporters today, especially younger reporters & media outlets whose audience leans left, don't believe in telling both sides of a story. . . . For me most part, people in “news” tell The Party's side of the story: Here's Why The Media Don't Want You To Know About The Massive Protests Going On Around The Globe But, that is not true of Mark Styen, now at GBTV. Mark has always been among the bravest people in media. Early on, he saw the climate catastrophe scheme--then called “global warming”--for the Covid style hoax it was and is to this day. Mark spent nearly a decade fighting a lawsuit all the smart people said he should settle. A suit against one the most vile and dishonest of the climate hustlers. Mark is continuing to fight and beat this liar in courts. Now, Mary Steyn is going where very few people in “news” will go; he is interviewing people injured by the mRNA and the family members of people killed by these gene sequencing concoctions.  [AUDIO] - God bless Mark Steyn for airing interviews with people injured by the mRNA gene sequencing concoctions Mark Steyn speaks to step-daughters of Lucy Taberer, who died after taking the Covid vaccine in March of 2021.  [AUDIO] - 'I'm really angry about it, she spent the last ten days of her life alone and I can only imagine absolutely terrified and scared.' Our medical establishment is injecting children with wrong sex homones, chemically sterilising and mutilating them. They are killing babies and selling their body parts on a massive basis. These are the same establishment medical organizations that allowed themselves to believe--and convinced “journalists”--that hammering an icepick through a person's skull and into their brain was a cure for depression. But, these people would never, EVER get fooled, conned, threatened and/or bribed into pushing deadly gene sequencing concoctions on the population---right?  Will 100 Million Die From the COVID Vax by 2028? An onslaught of reproductive and cancer cases related to the shots are also anticipated. “The fact of the matter is an enormous number of people who are injected are already carrying the seeds of their own demise,” Martin said.11 As for how many may die, Martin believes the numbers may have been revealed back in 2011, when the World Health Organization announced their “decade of vaccination”:12 “Based on their own 2011 estimate, and … this is a chilling estimate, but we just have to put it out there … When the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Chinese CDC, the Jeremy Farrar Wellcome Trust and others published The Decade of Vaccination for the World Health Organization back in 2011 their stated objective was a population reduction of 15% of the world's population. Put that in perspective, that's about 700 million people dead … and that would put the U.S. participation in that certainly as a pro rata of injected population somewhere between 75 and 100 million people.” When asked what timeframe these people may die in, Martin suggested “there's a lot of economic reasons why people hope that it's between now and 2028.”13 This is because of “a tiny little glitch on the horizon” — the projected illiquidity of the Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid programs by 2028. “So the fewer people who are recipients of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, the better,” Martin said. “Not surprisingly, it's probably one of the motivations that led to the recommendation that people over the age of 65 were the first ones getting injected.”14 Other populations at risk are caregivers, including health care providers, and others in the workforce who were forced to be injected, such as pilots. “Why is it that we're suddenly having 700 flights a day being canceled because, allegedly, airlines don't have pilots? … the dirty secret … is there a lot of pilots who are having microvascular problems and clotting problems, and that keeps them out of the cockpit, which is a good place to not have them if they're going to throw a clot for a stroke or a heart attack,” Martin said. “But the problem is we're going to start seeing that exact same phenomenon in the health care industry and at a much larger scale, which means we now have, in addition to the problem of the actual morbidity and mortality, meaning people getting sick and people dying. We actually have that targeting the health care industry writ large, which means we are going to have doctors and nurses who are going to be among the sick and the dead. And that means that the sick and the dying also do not get care.”15 The same Mockingbird Media that promotes abortions at any time during--and nearly after--prgenancy … [AUDIO] - CNN: 10-Year-Old Rape Victims Crossing State Lines What Post-Roe USA Looks Like . . .  dutifully ignores the actions of The Party that lead to these circumstances (like allowing criminal illegal aliens to remain here), and the societal rot and that would have a mother defending a man who raped her 10 year old daughter:  [AUDIO] - Mother of 10-Year-Old Ohio Rape Victim Goes on Telemundo, Defends Rapist MARIA VARGAS PION, TELEMUNDO: Did the girl live here as well? MOTHER: Yes, but she's fine. Everything that they're saying against him is a lie. VARGAS PION: And the child- are you related to her, or her mother? MOTHER: She's my daughter. VARGAS PION: The woman, who refused to provide her name and concealed her face, states that she has not filed charges against 27-year-old Gerson Fuentes, who is charged with rape.  Per the authorities, he confessed to having vaginal contact on at least two occasions with the girl who recently turned 10, therefore it is estimated that she may have been 9 years old when she was raped and (then) became pregnant. . . . while they also ignore what appear to be the criminal lies of the abortionist:  ‘This story keeps getting worse': Abortionist lists ‘approximate age' of alleged adult rapist as 17 in official report . . . also ignore one of the most interesting components of Mitch McConnell's obsession with Russia and Ukraine, where Hunter Biden (a likely pedophile and clear drug addict, national security threat), helped fun bio-labs.  Well, OAN reminded me of another phone call the figurehead made, way back in 2016 and before Biden was himself utterly demented. In this call, Biden predicts exactly what came to pass. The world financial system is “about to collapse” and the United States is further draining our Treasury to give unlimited funds to Ukraine.  [AUDIO] - Leaked audio from days after the 2016 election, before Trump's inauguration—Biden calls Poroshenko, then head of state of Ukraine, and threatens him with assassination if he cooperates with the incoming Trump administration. But, the same Mockingbirds are ignoring that phone call and its massive implications, just like they are ignoring the Covid murders. God have mercy. Part 2 of my Sales Mastery Masterclass As a sales professional, you need to establish your personality for selling, and you can build that by remembering these four things.  It's time to put your newfound grit muscles to work by incorporating them into your sales process. The four strategies listed below will help you with your opening pitch and help you achieve your success and goals: establish rapport, take the initiative, listen more, and confidently 'own' your price. I want you to establish that rapport and provide solace in the first segment of this episode. Be welcoming and foster open dialogue with your customers and potential customers. Make them feel comfortable talking to you and enthusiastic about that interaction. Finding and establishing commonality is another suggestion. Then, please sketch out how you want the call to end. Think about their reactions to the services you'll be offering. Take control of the dialogue that will follow by being prepared and organized. After making that timeline, remember that during a call, you should listen more than talk. Be curious and ask questions. Keep in mind that this isn't just about you.   Finally, I was hoping you could take note of this mindset before dropping the bomb on your price; I know it feels awkward when talking about money but remember to give the client space to consider your offer. And every time you do that, and when you think about how many times it's going to get to the point that it's as comfortable as telling somebody your phone number, right? It just works that muscle to get rid of any of that anxiety or that weird feeling.   If we go through these steps as you develop your sales mastery, it will be simple to deliver any sales pitch or make any calls.   Must-listen Moments:  [01:30]  TThe first step is to work on building rapport and comfort. As a result, you want your client to feel comfortable and secure with you during that chat. You want to find points of commonality. [07:51 ]  But I frequently repeat this to my clients. I advise you to repeat your price aloud every time you wash your hands in the bathroom and gaze at yourself in the mirror for the nine seconds that you are there doing that.  [12:39] Now it's just up to you to provide the solution and to do it in a way that they feel engaged and motivated to take advantage of. Is your high blood sugar caused by electromagnetic hypersensitivity? Trent University (Ontario), June 1, 2022 Experts believe that the shocking epidemic of type 2 diabetes is being driven by lifestyle factors, primarily obesity and inactivity. But, evidence is accumulating that hypersensitivity to electromagnetic fields can cause high blood sugar, raising the possibility that a third form of the disease – “type 3 diabetes” – could be caused by this form of environmental pollution. Case studies show that high blood sugar is triggered by exposure to “dirty electricity” According to peer-reviewed research  published in Electromagnetic Biology and Medicine, “dirty electricity,” or transient electrical fields, can affect blood sugar levels in diabetic individuals who are electrically sensitive. Dr. Havas, an Associate Professor of Environmental and Resource Studies at Trent University, presented case studies showing that plasma glucose levels increased in response to electromagnetic pollution. Dr. Havas noted that people with unexplained rises in blood sugar could potentially be electrosensitive – and, in fact, suffering type 3 diabetes. (With 3 to 35 percent of the population experiencing electrosensitivity, as many as 5 to 60 million diabetics worldwide could be affected by this perplexing and under-diagnosed condition!) Electrosensitivity (ES), also known as electrical sensitivity, electromagnetic hypersensitivity and cellphone sickness, was originally termed “radio wave sickness.” It was officially identified in the 1970s by Russian doctors to describe an occupational syndrome developed by workers who were exposed to microwave or radiofrequency radiation. Symptoms occur when an individual is exposed to wireless technologies or electrical devices such as cell phone towers, “smart” meters, WiFi routers, power line magnetic fields, plasma TVs, laptops, cell phones, energy-efficient lighting, fluorescent lighting and dimmer switches. The symptoms can be mild or severe, and can include headaches, dizziness, heart palpitations, insomnia, memory problems, depression and fatigue. Numbness and tingling, high blood pressure, nosebleeds, tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and shortness of breath can also be indications of electrosensitivity. And, in spite of the item's name, you shouldn't work with a laptop on your lap. Avoiding smart meters, sleeping in an electricity-free bedroom, and eliminating dimmer switches are also wise moves, while installing Graham/Stetzer filters can help you cut down on “dirty electricity.” The takeaway: if you have been diagnosed with diabetes and are electrosensitive, cutting down on your EMF exposure is a commonsense choice you can make today.     A polyphenol-rich diet prevents inflammation in older people  University of Barcelona (Spain), June 8, 2022 Polyphenols in the foods that we eat can prevent inflammation in older people, since they alter the intestinal microbiota and induce the production of the indole 3-propionic acid (IPA), a metabolite derived from the degradation of tryptophan due to intestinal bacteria. This is stated in a study published in the journal Molecular Nutrition and Food Research, carried out by the Research Group at the University of Barcelona and the CIBER on Fragility and Healthy Ageing The study shows the interaction between polyphenols and gut microbiota can induce the proliferation of bacteria with the ability to synthetize beneficial metabolites, such as IPA, a postbiotic with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties that contributes to improve the health of the intestinal wall. Therefore, this compound would contribute to the prevention of some diseases associated with ageing. “If we consider the beneficial effects of IPA on the gut microbiota and health in general, it is important to find reliable strategies to promote the production of this metabolite. As part of the study, the researchers carried out a multiomic analysis on faecal samples of fifty-one volunteers aged over sixty-five who kept following a diet rich in polyphenols (green tea, bitter chocolate, fruits including apples, pomegranate and blueberries) for eight weeks. The results show that the diet rich in polyphenols generated a significant increase in the blood IPA levels, together with a decrease in inflammation levels and changes in the bacteria of the microbiota, from the order of Bacteroidales.   Study shows people with a high omega-3 DHA level in their blood are at 49% lower risk of Alzheimer's Fatty Acid Research Institute, June 9, 2022 New research published today in Nutrients shows that people with a higher blood DHA level are 49% less likely to develop Alzheimer's disease vs. those with lower levels, according to the Fatty Acid Research Institute (FARI). The study, led by Aleix Sala-Vila, PhD, suggested that providing extra dietary omega-3 DHA, especially for those carrying the ApoE4 gene (which approximately doubles an individual's susceptibility to develop AD) might slow the development of the disease. Such a cost-effective, low-risk dietary intervention like this could potentially save billions in health care costs. In this prospective observational study conducted within the Framingham Offspring Cohort — including 1490 dementia-free participants aged ≥65 years old —  researchers examined the association of red blood cell (RBC) docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) with incident Alzheimer's Disease (AD), while also testing for an interaction with APOE-ε4 carriership. Tthe researchers noted that an increased intake of DHA might lower risk for developing AD, particularly in higher-risk individuals such as those carrying the APOE-ε4 allele, suggesting that they may benefit more from higher DHA levels than non-carriers.     Vegan diet rich in legumes beneficial for decreased weight in new study Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, June 8, 2022 A vegan diet improves diet quality, leading to decreased weight and improved insulin sensitivity, according to a new study by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Decreased weight was most associated with increased intake of legumes and decreased intake of meat, fish, and poultry. “Our research shows that the best way to improve the quality of your health is to improve the quality of the foods you eat,” says Hana Kahleova, MD, PhD, director of clinical research at the Physicians Committee and a study co-author. “That means avoiding animal products and eating a vegan diet rich in fruits, vegetables, grains, and beans.” The participants in the 16-week study included 244 overweight adults who were randomly assigned to either make no diet changes or to follow a low-fat vegan diet, without calorie restrictions, consisting of vegetables, grains, legumes, and fruits. Researchers tracked diet quality, body weight, fat mass, and insulin sensitivity. The final data analysis included 219 participants who completed the whole study and submitted their final diet records. Participants on the vegan diet lost an average of 13 pounds and 9.1 pounds of fat mass. Body weight and fat mass did not decrease in the group that made no diet changes. In the vegan group, increases in fruit, legume, meat alternative, and whole grain intake and decreases in animal products, added oils, and animal fats were associated with weight loss: Fruit: Increased intake of whole fruit was associated with a decrease in body weight. Legumes and Meat Alternatives: Increased legume consumption was associated with decreased weight, fat mass, and visceral adipose tissue. Consuming more meat alternatives, including tofu, tempeh, and veggie burgers, was associated with a decrease in body weight. Grains: Increased consumption of whole grains was associated with decreased body weight and fat mass. Eggs and Dairy Products: Decreased egg intake was correlated with decreased weight. Decreased high-fat dairy intake was associated with decreased weight and fat mass. Meat, Fish, and Poultry: Reductions in the combined intake of total meat, fish, and poultry were associated with weight loss and a decrease in fat mass. Added Fats: Decreases in intake of added animal fats were associated with decreases in weight and fat mass. Decreased intake of added oils also correlated with decreases in weight and fat mass. The vegan group also experienced improvements in insulin sensitivity.   Western diets rich in fructose and fat cause diabetes via glycerate-mediated loss of pancreatic islet cells Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation, June 9, 2022   Those who are habitually inclined to consume burgers, fries and soda may think twice about their dietary choices following scientists' latest findings about high-fat, high-fructose diets. As reported in their recent publication in Cell Metabolism, the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation (TIBI), discovered that a high-fat diet can increase fructose metabolism in the small intestine, leading to release of a fructose-specific metabolite called glycerate into circulation. Circulating glycerate can subsequently cause damage of the insulin-producing pancreatic beta cells, increasing the risk of glucose tolerance disorders, such as Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Although T2DM is typically found in older people, it has been occurring more and more in younger people. In the past two decades alone, T2DM has doubled in prevalence. Equally concerning are the health risks associated with T2DM, including heart disease and stroke.  In T2DM, there are insufficient levels of insulin, a hormone that regulates movement of glucose into peripheral cells. To compensate for this, the pancreas overworks to secrete additional insulin, with eventual loss of this ability. The result is an unhealthy accumulation of glucose in the blood. Collectively, the scientists' findings suggest that a prolonged exposure to high levels of glycerate due to excessive consumption of western diets rich in dietary fructose and fat poses the risk of damage to the pancreatic islet cells and development of diabetes.   New study associates intake of dairy milk with greater risk of prostate cancer Loma Linda University, June 9, 2022   Men with higher intakes of dairy foods, especially milk, face a significantly higher risk of prostate cancer compared to men with lower intakes, according to a new study conducted by researchers at Loma Linda University Health. The study found no such associations between increased prostate cancer risk and intake of non-dairy calcium, suggesting substances other than calcium play a role in the risk dairy foods poses for prostate cancer. The study's results reveal that men who consumed about 430 grams of dairy per day (1 ¾ cups of milk) faced a 25% increased risk of prostate cancer compared to men who consumed only 20.2 grams of dairy per day (1/2 cup of milk per week). Also, men who consumed about 430 grams of dairy per day faced an even greater increase in risk when compared to men with zero dairy intake in their diets. Fraser noted that the results had minimal variation when comparing intake of full fat versus reduced or nonfat milks; there were no important associations reported with cheese and yogurt.

Happiness is defined as "a state of well-being and contentment". And yet, our society teaches us that happiness is not inherent — that it is rather a destination. And that we will only get there if we do everything we're told: do good in school, get a good job, get the promotions, get married, have kids, get the dream house, the dream kitchen, the dream vacations, etc etc. But the problem is, constantly seeking happiness outside of ourselves gets us into lots of trouble. We become overachievers and wonder why we still feel so empty inside even though we did all that we were supposed to do and jumped through all the hoops. Then we indulge in all kinds of behaviors to numb the pain of that dissatisfaction: food, alcohol, social media, shopping... and lose our own health and well-being along the way. We think we'll finally get happy once we "find love", but without having healed our own past and learned to love our own company, we end up repeating the same mistakes in relationship after relationship... In this episode I break down how to know if you're falling into the "happiness trap" and how to go about seeking it first in the only place possible: within yourself. This work is SO important because given all the trouble humanity is in these days, a world full of people who are out of victimhood and who feel good to be alive may just make all the difference. ❤️Episodes referenced: What to do when you feel like sh!tThe bully in your brainPS. The biggest truth in the universe is that we are BORN worthy. But we forget this very basic thing because of so much conditioning and societal BS. Hi Trish, I had found your podcast via "keep the faith" about 4 years ago. I do believe God led me to you. Growing up I had a wonderful loving family (still do) however I always felt sad. IT made me feel even worse because I didn't have anything to make me feel that way. I 've always had felt left out and struggled with friend issues that made me feel like something is wrong with me. I have been hooked on your podcast and I tell everyone about you because I have feel myself improving!!! Slowly but surely. I not longer thank I'm the only one. And boy, is that a relief! You have BLESSED me for these past 2 years and all for FREE!!!!! I feel the LOVE and "back at cha baby!" So glad I joined the college for the next chapter of Happiness! Love, Deanna   Everyone's life is messy. Your circumstances aren't what make you happy - your thoughts are.   HAPPINESS ISN'T AN ACCIDENT   It's not just for the lucky. It's for the intentional. It's available to everyone. Decide to be happy.Study happy people.Know your happy habits.Practice the art of active appreciation.Ground yourself in gratitude. NBC news poll recently found that only 14% of Americans reports to be very happy. That's down from 31% who said the same in 2018. 45% of Americans reported feeling isolated or lonely.    Two thirds of adults globally  (64%) report being happy: 14% very much so and 50% rather so. Countries with the highest proportion of adults considering themselves as very happy are Canada (29%), Australia, Saudi Arabia and India (28% each), Great Britain and the United States (27% each). (Global Happiness Study 2019)    WHY AREN'T YOU HAPPY?    Most likely because you're looking to your circumstances to make you happy. It's your thoughts that creates happiness, not what happens in your life.  Too focused on the wrong things  -fear -what could go wrong -"being realistic" -avoiding emotions -what other people might think -achievement for fulfillment We're distracted by our own business We stay too busy to be happy.    UNHAPPINESS CONTRIBUTORS   Comparison to others.Lack of gratitudeStuck in comfort zoneYou don't move your bodyYou are always in your past or your futureFlawed beliefs (thinking it's supposed to be easier, or that negative emotions shouldn't exist)Busyness (too busy to think, reflect, notice, self-care, live well)  95% of our 60-80,000 thoughts per day are repeated thoughts.    THE ART OF HAPPINESS   HAPPINESS HABITS Activate appreciation Reframing thoughts Mental maintenance  Physical activity Time to be Other Contributors to Happiness Adventure Falling is learning Openness  Curiosity Happiness doesn't mean that it's a state of permanence. It's an emotion, that ebbs and flows, and when you feel it, you ride it. When is recoils, you know another wave is coming - nothing has gone wrong. "there is taken care of" Intentional and active appreciation What about others who drag you down? "must stink to be in their brain…" "there thoughts are their choices, I'm grateful I know how to not stay in a funk

I was on a call recently. Team call on the two comma club x with Steve B Steve BartaLesko or something, one of the coaches. You know, it's like, I'm stuck right now. I'm trying to, you know, suss out this new avatar, my avatar or what have you.  And trying to come up with an offer and and. First question I'd asked him was about best way to get a questionnaire online in a funnel. And so he showed me, so that's super cool. So I got that dialed in, then the next question was like, hey, I need to come up with an offer. I've been flying around, I got no offer. I don't. I'm not sure of like if I have something to offer people. And Steve said, alright, do a challenge. You'll get blah, blah, blah, blah. Your avatars that is the you just a little bit ago. Tthe you just a little bit ago.Mischa Zvegintzov  01:21I'm like, All right. The me just a little bit ago, well, there's the me that was re entry into business land. And then there was so that was a year, year and a half ago, trying new things. As far as business stuff. And then there was the me four or five years ago, who quit his sales job and then became a stay at home dad. And that was me finding new success. So this morning, I was like, Wait a minute. This... you want to create webinars, you want to help people create webinars.  You haven't created your own webinar yet. How do we fast track that process? Or how do we it seems like it's premature, perhaps helping somebody with a webinar. Since I haven't technically made one myself, but I really want to do one, I really want to make a webinar, I really want to learn how to sell from stage. I'm great at sales on the phone. I'm great at sales. Direct response, so get the phone during like send out mailers, things like that. So that's cool, and I can help people with that.Mischa Zvegintzov  03:01But I definitely... the couple things that pulled me into the 2CCX were the idea of creating a summit. So I did that I saw that was like I want to do that I want to create a summit. And so I jumped into Russell Brunson eco system, even deeper. And the other thing I saw was this idea of a webinar. Sell with a webinar.  And so I'd seen webinars back in the mortgage days, when I was in mortgages. I was I was great at selling direct to consumer various ways. I was not so good at getting realtors to work with me from stage. I could call them directly and get him to work with me or develop relationships that way. But this idea of having, you know, pitching a group of Realtors from stage to get them to want to work with me as a loan officer, was very intriguing to me. And I'd had a couple of fits and starts opportunities to try that. And I'd stumbled across a webinar. And it started you know, this idea of putting together workshops and things.  As many people have. There's a whole thriving industry it turns out. Russell Brunson, Armand Morin, and those things. And I actually was just remembering some of the big like pitch pitch sessions I would go to where they would sell you the, the products at the end.  Like the stadium style.  Like the 3000 seat you know, pitch session. Blankety blank's coming town with with the 20 speakers and in hindsight I see how all of them were selling.Mischa Zvegintzov  05:12Anyhow this is just great. This is great great fodder. Gosh I hope it's being of service. But anyhow. I, I, Yes... So wanted to, you know, create a webinar that's very alluring to me. Hence the Russell Brunson being on webinars and selling from stage. He's great at it. So in we go to the to C, CX, and now I'm like, Oh, my God, I could help people create webinars, you know, by interviewing them and helping them tell their stories and things like that. I'm good at sussing out those stories.Mischa Zvegintzov  06:17Wouldn't it be funny if after I was done with these, this series that I was like, oh, yeah, I'm sticking with table rush. You never know. I'm just doing what they say record. Try to be of service. Anyhow, I see that I want to create a webinar. I want to help people create webinars. But perhaps I'm a step ahead. Perhaps I need to get a bunch of people that are a couple of steps behind me onto the track to create webinars as I want to. So maybe I should keep the Table Rush idea. But I do like Bitch Slap. I don't know. I need to have this all sorted out by Thursday by my coaching call on Thursday. Anyhow, I already have a questionnaire made up for, in effect, somebody who's in a bit of upheaval, on the direction in their life. So it's like oh, my gosh, I could I already have that questionnaire made on a zero to 10 question. Like a grade.  Like zero to 10? How happy are you zero to 10? How much fear are you in zero to 10? You know, one being you know, "scared shitless", too being. "Oh my god every moments amazing. And I can't wait to see what's next". I've already got that created. One of the hard things about selling psychic healing is "Is it measurable?" So, can we have something that's measurable. And I already created it back in the day. When I came out of one of my "What am I going to do with my life?" exercises. I had the 90 day meditation bootcamp and part of that was this questionnaire.Mischa Zvegintzov  08:57It was pretty cool and pretty extensive. And it was going to be to to help you know gauge your before and after.  Like your mental status before and after. And it hit me as I'm trying to create a questionnaire for people, what stage of business that we're in. So I can help them create their offer in there. In their...  in their...  what am imy trying to say. Create their, you know, webinars and things like that. So then I can meet them where they're at. I think you get what I'm saying. So it all kind of hit me a little bit earlier that I could, oh my gosh, I could circle back around to that avatar that me four or five years ago who was ready to make a big change? And then I could use the... use the, what's it called that questionnaire that's measurable. The zero to 10 scale, there's a term for that zero to 10 scale type of questionnaire. It's like the Guggenheim question, Guggenheim format or something, I'll look it up. But I could use that as a before and after. So I could in effect, go out to people who are discontent at their careers. Maybe it's divorced dads? Maybe it's just people who are discontent in their careers? I don't know I'm gonna meditate on that. And use that questionnaire, as a baseline for happiness kind of a thing. I think you get what I'm saying more will be revealed. Suffice it to say that it'll be interesting to see where I am. When I go to edit this episode. Who knows if this is just self serving, or serving you the listener, or is anyone listening

100+ countries discussed climate change over two weeks at the COP26 Summit in Glasgow. TThe impact of COVID-19 and the pall of the US-China trade war cast their shadows over the proceedings. The recent energy crisis in the EU did little to help. Disappointment over the results of COP26 is, therefore, not unexpected. Truth be told, climate action is no longer about containing global warming. It has become a geopolitical issue linked to trade, technology, and geopolitical issues.

"Simplify wherever possible" - Tony ChiapettaAs an entrepreneur for almost 20 years, Tony Chiappetta's mission is to change the IT game to people first, instead of focusing on fixing tech problems. Whether Chiappetta's company runs a client's IT division or complements a client's dedicated IT team, the less is more mantra has been a game-changer. That especially has been the case over the last 12 months, since COVID-19 forced most employees to work from home. Two years after graduating from the University of Southern California in 2000, Chiappetta decided to leave the corporate world and go into business for himself with AMC Modern IT.He reached out to 1000 people, cold calling people directly from the Yellow Pages before landing his first client, an older real estate agent who says Chiappetta reminded him of his younger self. Chiappetta went from charging hourly rates as a 23-year-old to eventually monitoring systems and backup systems on a daily rate to building a team of 24 employees in 2014.That year, Tony's company was trying to plug tech holes, pull all-nighters and solve an overwhelming amount of problems. So, Chiappetta devised a list of 400 items that prevented downtime and security breaches, as well as created client-specific documentation, such as a detailed new user set-up and removal process for each client. He then created a dedicated role in his organization to continuously review the checklist and found he was preventing 80% of reactive issues that once plagued his clients.Without reactive issues, time was now focused on creating IT strategies for his clients. This new process required a lot more time so, Chiappetta was forced to raise rates exponentially which left him with 19 clients from an original pool of hundreds and dropped his employee counts from 24 to eight. But eventually, the smaller pool of clients became a much bigger one and his team began to rebuild as well. Now, Chiappetta and his firm are global with employees and clients around the world. SHOW NOTESWhy you need to have the right employees in the right position to help run the businessThe importance of training employeesHow employees need to see the big picture to become more productiveWhat's wrong with IT today, and what's needed to have IT as an agent for growth and profitsWhy your most valuable "assets" are your employeesHow COVID-19 has forever changed the workplace and what you can do about itThe importance of accountability and clarity in a businessWhy you shouldn't be hosting and managing servers in-houseWhat you need to know about where technology is headingHow to free up your time to focus on a strategy that grows the businessWhy Tony going from 24 employees to 8 employees after he raised prices was a blessing in disguiseThe importance of structure and documentationWhy systems and processes make it easier to lead employeesThe difference between managing and leadingWhy a great business to sell is also a great business to keepThe importance of coaches and mentorsKnow that what seems like a big issue at the time isn'tThe power of focusing on the big picture‍This podcast is brought to you by Deep Wealth. ‍When it comes to your liquidity event, you have one chance to get it right, and you better make it count. Get in touch. The Neutral PionIn many ways, the neutral pion - sometimes call the π0 meson - is closely related to the charged pions. In others, the neutral pion is a truly bizarre little beast. There are so many kinds of pions because there are so many ways to combine up and down quarks into particle/antiparticle pairs. The neutral pions are kind of a mixed bag of up quarks paired with antiup quarks, and down quarks paired with antidown quarks. The electric charges are always canceled between these antiparticle partners. The neutral pion is a great example of how antimatter isn't always a destructive thing.Owing to this special structure, the neutral pion is its own antiparticle. π0 mesons decay much, much faster than their charged siblings, a literal billion times faster. They only stick around for about 8.5×10^−17 =0.000000000000000085 seconds. Yikes! That's so small it probably doesn't mean anything to most of us! By particle standards, it's a properly fast decay. The charged pions decay via the weak nuclear force. The neutral pions decay via the electromagnetic force, which is much, much stronger. Which is why they decay much faster. However uninspiring their short lifetimes might be, how these particle decay is truly fascinating.Neutral pions decay into a pair of photons almost all the time. When they don't, its because one or more of those photons converted implicitly to an electron/positron pair. This decay happens because of the so-called chiral anomaly, which is an extremely subtle feature of the laws of our universe. The chiral anomaly emerges as an event - a blip or moment in time - where the quarks that make up the neutral pion quantum mechanically convert into all kinds of quarks - up down strange top bottom whatever - all at once. It's kind of reminiscent of the nuclear goo that's inside a pion or a proton. That goo collectively and cleanly self annihilates into a pair of photons - and it does so with remarkably efficiency. This is a purely quantum phenomenon - microscopic correction at that - which has a lot of real world consequences.  Tthe chiral anomaly depends on all the quarks all at once, even ones that might be so heavy we haven't seen yet.   As it turns out, to correctly compute the measured pion lifetime, the total number of quark species must be six. Precisely six.As it also turns out, we've already observed six different kinds of quarks which, on the one hand, is a bummer. On the other, in an amazing consistency check on the known laws of physics. It's how we know our understanding of nature is on the right track.Because these neutral pions decay to photons of a very specific energy, they are very easy to look for. Astronomers will routinely see them while looking into space! π0 decays are often associated with supernovae - that is, exploding stars - which suggests two things. First, exploding stars explode with such power that they act as gargantuan particle accelerators. Second, having giant, cosmic particle accelerators explains the large number of ultra high energy cosmic rays that are responsible for the cosmogenic muons raining down upon all the time.
