Have you ever wondered how Chabad emissaries are chosen? Have you ever thought about why some Chabad emissaries go to places like Zambia, Nigeria or Peru? What are the challenges of opening a Chabad house, and what are the enormous benefits of being the person who kindles and rekindles Jewish souls? Rebbetzin Rivky Herzel, co-director of Chabad-Lubavitch of Zambia (Africa), speaks about her experience growing up as the daughter of Chabad emissaries to Anchorage, Alaska. She also talks about why she and her husband decided to become emissaries themselves, and why they chose to serve the Jewish community in Zambia. Rebbetzin Rivky talks about what is involved in running a Chabad center, the new kosher store that they are opening, and her monthly flights to the mikveh in South Africa because Zambia doesn't have a mikvah just yet. Rebbetzin Rivky has a deep passion for touching the life of every single Jew, and it shows when she speaks about the events and programming that she does for the Jews in her community.

It's Friday, September 9th, A.D. 2022. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Ugandan Muslims threw 5 Christian evangelists overboard On August 10th, Muslim extremists killed five Christian workers by throwing them off a boat into central Uganda's Lake Kyoga, reports Morning Star News. A Christian survivor of the attack said the evangelists from End Time Word Ministry church were traveling from Nakasongola District to Apac District on a commercial transport boat with plans to plant a church. The survivor, Amos Kyakulaga, a church deacon who was acting as a guide, said the five evangelists began proclaiming Christ to a group of 10 Muslims in Islamic attire aboard the boat. He said, “On our way, Tonny Ankunda started preaching to the people on the boat, which resulted in a huge argument between Muslims and the missionaries concerning the Sonship of our Lord Jesus Christ.” He said one of the Muslims, identified only as Bashir, began threatening the Christians, saying, “If you continue insisting that Jesus is the Son of God, then Allah will kill all of you.” Citing Scripture, the evangelists continued affirming the sonship of Christ. Bashir, the Muslim, told them, “We are giving you one last minute to stop your blasphemy and to convert by confessing the shahada (Islamic creed), or else your lives are at risk.” When the five evangelists refused to renounce Christ, the Muslims seized them and pushed them off the boat one by one, Kyakulaga said. Because they were 650 feet from shore, all five Christians drowned. Despite the fact that Muslims make up only 12 percent of Uganda's population, they live in high concentrations in the east. Queen Elizabeth II died--having shared Christ's light Queen Elizabeth II died peacefully yesterday at the age of 96, marking an end to her 70-year and 214-day reign, reports The Sun. Her son, Charles, who will now be known as King Charles III, gave a somber statement as he led the nation in mourning last night. The new King said, “The death of my beloved mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family.” She has been called the last reigning Christian monarch. In fact, Evangelist Franklin Graham said, “I'm especially grateful for the Queen's friendship with my father Billy Graham. He cherished their friendship that was built on a shared love for Jesus Christ and belief in God's Word." Throughout her 70-year reign, she often mentioned Christianity. In her 1957 Christmas address, Queen Elizabeth quoted the famous Christian allegory, The Pilgrim's Progress, by John Bunyun. QUEEN: “I believe that together, we can set an example to the world, which will encourage upright people everywhere. I would like to read you a few lines from Pilgrim's Progress, because I'm sure we can say, with Mr. Valiant-for-Truth, these words: ‘My marks and scars I carry with me to be a witness for me, but I have fought His battles, who now will be my Rewarder.” In the year 2000, she spoke of a personal accountability before God. QUEEN: “For me, the teachings of Christ and my own personal accountability before God, provide a framework in which I try to lead my life. I, like so many of you, have drawn great comfort in difficult times, from Christ's words and example. ‘Hold fast to that which is good. Render to near man evil for evil, strengthen the faint hearted, support the weak, healthy afflicted on all men.” In 2014, the Queen said that the life of Jesus was an inspiration and an anchor in her life. QUEEN: “Jesus Christ lived obscurely for most of His life, and never traveled far. He was maligned and rejected by many, though He had done no wrong. And yet, billions of people now follow His teaching and find in Him the guiding light for their lives. I am one of them because Christ's example helps me see the value of doing small things with great love.” In April of 2020, Queen Elizabeth affirmed the need to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, especially in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. QUEEN: “Indeed, we need Easter as much as ever. The discovery of the risen Christ on the first Easter Day gave His followers new hope and fresh purpose, and we can all take heart from this.” Last night, she received her heavenly crown, a crown worth infinitely more than her earthly one. The Bible speaks of five crowns. In 2 Timothy 4:8, Paul says, “Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” 4 dead & 3 wounded in Memphis, Tennessee Mourning and anger enveloped Memphis, Tennessee yesterday as authorities sought the motive for a gunman's daylong, livestreamed shooting spree that left four people dead and three wounded, reports USA Today. Ezekiel Dejuan Kelly, age 19, was captured Wednesday evening having driven around for hours shooting people, and finally participating in a carjacking. Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland expressed outrage that Kelly had been charged with criminal attempted first-degree murder two years ago, but pleaded guilty in April 2021 to the lesser charge of aggravated assault. He was sentenced to three years in prison, but served just over two years. STRICKLAND: “If this man had served his full sentence, he would be in prison this morning, and these four lives would still be with us.” Zambia, Africa celebrates New Testament translation And finally, Christians in Zambia, Africa, are celebrating the latest milestone in Bible translation: the creation of the New Testament in their native tongues. According to CBN News, the effort is led by Wycliffe Associates, an organization that offers Bible translations in countless languages. Currently, over 5,000 people are working in Zambia to translate the Bible into 20 native languages. Bishop Henry Mumba, a pastor and church planter, is assisting church-owned translation work in Munsa. He recalled how he heard his first Bible verse when he was 19 years old. MUMBA: "My pastor was a missionary from another country. And he came into this town and when they preached the Gospel to me, the first verse that I knew was John 3:16. ‘For God so love the world, that He gave His only son that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.'" Listen as this woman quoted a portion for the first time in their hearing. (audio of Zambian translation followed by cheers) Amazingly, it's the first time this language has been written down for any reason. MUMBA: “That Bible is the first written literature. We've never had anything before.” Bishop Mumba explained what it meant. MUMBA: “God is speaking our language!” Of the world's 7,000 languages, fewer than 800 have the Bible fully translated. Consider giving a gift to help fund the sacred work of Wycliffe Translators. Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Friday, September 9th, in the year of our Lord 2022. Think about the blood volume that the woman has and how she is able to tolerate a greater blood loss before she shows any signs of deterioration, this is why you need your large bore cannulas and you need to replace the fluids that she has lost and do this quickly with quite large amounts of fluid. This week we hear from Chisenga Katongo a Rapper from Zambia Africa . We hear how he has traveled from the copper mining communities to the UK and eventually landed here in sunny Perth.
BongoHive Co-Founder and Director of Entrepreneurship, Simunza Muyangana reckons that Lusaka has what it takes to become one of Africa's choicest tech and innovation hubs. When it launched in May 2011 BongoHive was Zambia's only technology and innovation hub. Today, no small thanks to Simunza and his team's context-relevant ecosystem upliftment efforts, the early-stage startup scene in Zambia is more vibrant than its ever been. In this throwback conversation with Andile Masuku - taped at African Angel Investor Summit 2017 - Simunza chats about BongoHive's portfolio of startup and tech programmes, workshops and events, which are all focused on making Zambia Africa’s next hotbed of innovation. Listen in to learn more about BongoHive's relatively new investment arm and why Simunza believes that the time is right for his organisation to bet on local startups.

http://www.biblestudytools.com/ephesians/passage/?q=ephesians+5:21-30 (Ephesians 5:21-30) Do you love church? Or do you love the Church? I remind you, the Church is not a building of brick and mortar, or wood, plaster, sheet rock, and shingles. The Church is the people, the people of God. One of the scriptural images of the Church – believers in Jesus Christ – is that the Church is the bride and Jesus Christ is the bridegroom. Scripture makes clear as we read from Ephesians that Jesus Christ loves the Church. The Church is full of imperfect people, yet Jesus is crazy about His people in love, committed to our well-being, sacrificial in serving us. His love for us is unconditional and eternal. So I'd like to explore some powerful truths about Jesus the Bridegroom and those who believe in Jesus as the bride of Christ. First, Jesus is the Bridegroom who pursues the Church to rescue her. As in Ephesians 5, “. . . as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her. . . .” Anytime a wife would be in danger, the husband, because of his love, would put his life on the line to rescue her. I recently read a story in the newspaper of a man in Gwembe, Zambia Africa. In the year 2011, his wife was snatched by a big crocodile while she was washing clothes in the river. The man dove into the river and swam to where the big crock had his wife in his jaws. He grabbed the crocodile around the belly and dragged it back to the shallows. Then he jammed his hand and arm into the mouth of crocodile and began to beat the crock on the head with a stick until finally it released it's grip on his wife and tried to snatch the husband in it's jaws. The crocodile missed the husband and swam away. Both husband and wife were bloody but safe. The husband had rescued his wife. Jesus is the Bridegroom who rescues His people, the bride of Christ. He does it in love at great sacrifice. Every Popeye has his Olive Oyl. Every Tarzan is willing to rescue his Jane. I love reading Louis L'Amour westerns where the hero cowboy defeats the evil people, and in the end gets the girl. This is the Bible's eternal plot line. Jesus comes for His people to rescue us in love and defeat the evil one. Jesus is the Bridegroom who pursues us to rescue us in love, but He also comes as the Bridegroom to propose to His beloved. It's an invitation of love that requests a response. This is the nature of love – to confess it and risk rejection. Do you remember the movie “Runaway Bride” where Julia Roberts plays the character Maggie Carpenter? The movie is called “Runaway Bride” because Maggie has been engaged multiple times but always leaves her betrothed husband standing at the altar. The essence of the lifetime love that God offers us in Jesus Christ is not one only based on momentary passion or feeling. God offers us a covenant of love that evokes a commitment of love and trust from us. The Bridegroom and the bride are invited to say I do, and our yes to Jesus Christ invites us to say yes in faith in response to Jesus Christ. Have you ever, in a simple prayer of faith, said Yes, Jesus. I believe in You. God's Spirit continually whispers His invitation that we would share His love and His life day by day in a covenant of love. Jesus is also the Bridegroom who protects His bride to keep her safe in His arms of love. In Psalm 62 we read, “Find rest, O my soul, in God alone.” When the arms of Jesus' promises surround us, our faith trusts His strength. Jesus is our safe place. His strength holds us up. We hide in His love. But that type of protective love also is a jealous love. In Exodus, it says, “I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God” (20:5). God is not insecure or paranoid. He tolerates no rivals. Intimacy by definition means being exclusive to one. God is a jealous God who wants us to love Him above all others. Do you remember when God asked Hosea to take a prostitute to be his wife as a living image of the Lord's love for His people, Israel? Hosea's love...

The Great Diet Deception: How US Politics Have Duped the World A neurosurgeon’s journey into America’s obesity and disease epidemic In the 1970s, wheat and high fructose corn syrup became staples in the American diet after significant backlash from the American people over inflation and soaring food prices. Nixon and his cabinet committed to reshaping the nutritional landscape so that high food prices would never be an issue in American politics again, and the US food pyramid was born. Today, in the face of rampant heart disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, and autoimmune diseases like celiac disease, multiple sclerosis and thyroiditis, we have learned that America’s health crisis began with a political move made nearly forty years ago by elected officials who didn’t want to deal with the fallout of inflation. Some of our most popular beliefs about good health are, in fact, lies that were sold to the American people as propaganda. In 2007, New York native Dr. Jack Kruse, then a Nashville-based neurosurgeon, suffered a torn meniscus in his knee at 6’2”, 357 lbs. Ashamed and frustrated that he’d let his health spin out of control, Dr. Kruse knew his life had to change. He devoured anything he could find on obesity and disease, reading between 5 and 6,000 articles over 18 months, uncovering research on the new science of leptin receptor biology and the dietary lies and propaganda of the USDA, agra-food complex, and the pharmaceutical complex. Dr. Kruse realized he was dying from the same epidemic that now plagues 150 million Americans and billions worldwide as the Standard American Diet is imported to the rest of the developing world. Leveraging leptin’s cutting-edge science and using evolutionary biology as the beacons for optimal health, Dr. Kruse lost 77 lbs in three months and 133 lbs in a year. His most startling discovery defies everything modern medicine believes about health, weight-loss, and managing disease: obesity is not the result of too many calories, not enough exercise or living a slothful existence. Obesity is an inflammatory brain condition that is completely reversible. His bio hack showed him that obesity is a thermodynamic problem causing us to lose energy to our environment and not a state of energy excess that people believe. He leveraged his findings to help patients in his private practice lose weight and reverse major diseases like osteoporosis, diabetes, and sleep apnea. He eventually developed his “Leptin Rx Reset,” a protocol that acts as a brain surgery without ever using a blade, completely rewiring the hypothalamus by aligning with our natural circadian rhythms and mastering the “timing” of our evolutionary blueprint. His findings include: The timing of when you eat is more important than what you eat, Snacking or eating “small meals” every 2-3 hours as commonly advocated by conventional medicine all but guarantees life-long obesity, Anyone can lose massive amounts of weight without ever counting a calorie, Rigorous cardio exercises (like long distance running or chronic cardio routines) leads to stem cell reduction and shaves years off the end of your life, and Eating fats conventional medicine told us to shun is ideal for Optimal Health. In June of 2011, Dr. Kruse began blogging about his findings, and people all over the world began to marry the Leptin Rx to an ancestral diet (known as the Epi Paleo Rx template with incredible results, chronicled in forums all over the internet. One such thread on a popular paleo diet forum has logged over 1.5 million hits in just over a year. Dr. Kruse is on a mission to reshape healthcare in America by educating the masses and their doctors on what it looks like to achieve optimal health and reverse chronic disease. Two months ago, I laid in a long, metal tube in a London hospital, staring at the blank white walls around me as the entire room buzzed and hummed with the sounds of high-tech analysis. I was getting a "Magnetic Resonance Imaging" procedure done - also known as an "MRI". But this was no typical MRI. I wasn’t injured and I wasn’t sick: I was simply immersed in a brand new form of cutting-edge image analysis - an ultra-fast MRI scan to deliver precise quantification of fat and muscle tissue within hours - designed to give me a complete analysis of the entire structure of my body and brain - from extremely accurate body fat percentage and body fat distribution of visceral and subcutaneous fat, to the nitty-gritty details of everything from lean muscle and the brain, and beyond. In today’s podcast, I'm going to take a deep dive into how you can do this type of advanced analysis of your body’s structure, the future of MRI testing for performance, longevity and aesthetics, and much more - including a very special appearance by Dr. Jack Kruse on how MRI's can be used to analyze something called the "redox potential" of the human body. My first guest in this episode is Marcus Foster. Marcus spent most of his career as a Product Manager for technology companies, including 8 years at Google. In November 2011, he was involved in a serious cycling accident, breaking four ribs and his collarbone. He started playing around with 3D volume renderings of the CT scan that was done of his thorax as a result of the accident. He was blown away by how beautiful the human body looks on the inside. A year later he got knocked off his bike again, this time breaking his wrist, leading to another CT scan. The next year he was diagnosed with a tumor in his head and had to have a series of MRI scans. While he was gradually collecting imagery of different parts of his body, it seemed difficult to scale this model. In 2014, Marcus left Google and started Klarismo with the goal of making medical imaging more accessible to consumers as a means to explore and understand their own bodies. My second guest in this episode, Dr. Jack Kruse, is a respected neurosurgeon and CEO of Optimized Life, a health and wellness company dedicated to helping patients avoid the healthcare burdens we typically encounter as we age. During our discussion, you’ll discover: -The series of horrific cycling accidents and eventually a tumor that led Marcus to delve into the fascinating world of CT scanning and MRI scanning...[10:45] -The little-known medical condition that can lead to low testosterone in men, and how you can find out if you have it...[18:20] -How something called a "Klarismo" scan is different than any other form of MRI...[24:12] -Whether MRI's are dangerous at all, especially in terms of radiation or exposure to "dirty electricity"...[25:30] -How you can find out the size of your brain, and the link between that and intelligence...[35:00] -What you can actually do with data that shows your precise fat and muscle distribution...[38:07] -The future of MRI testing, and how you can actually determine the positive and negative charges within tissue...[45:00] -What exactly "redox potential" is and what an MRI can tell you about your body's redox potential...[58:10] -Why Jack Kruse thinks Ben's tattoos have deleteriously affected his redox potential...[71:40] -And much more! This week we are back with some sweet music from a great friend of ours Claudio (CJ) Parrone. He's a singer/songwriter that will melt your hearts, and maybe your under garments. The Olympics have started with a lavish opening ceremony, and we're excited for some certain sporting events. The new Joker/Batman movies in Killing Joke and Suicide Squad are getting no love from the critics. We overview our thoughts on the RNC and DNC. We discuss the great feats of a woman named Georgina Mamba with polio who grew up in Zambia Africa, and is now helping education systems understand the difference in disabilities in children. Last but not least, we discuss who's the donkey that put the Vikings jersey in Brett Favre's Canton Ohio locker? Thank you again for listening, and stay tuned next week for Episode 29!
