Meanwhile, Saab had effectively been building cars on the same platform since the 40s before finally making something new for the Saab 99 during the late 60s, and then the 900 in late 70s (which was really just a revised 99). But when it was time for a shift upmarket in the late 80s, Saab needed financial help to create the 9000 after a merger deal with Volvo fell through. At the time, Lancia was in need of a full-size family sedan and jumped into the mix as well via an existing relationship with Saab (see the Saab Lancia 600). There's a brief sidebar about weird cars of the time. Select picks include the Citroen DX and GS, as well as the AMC Eagle and Concord. Plus oddball platform sharing in the form of the Dodge Monaco, Renault 25, and Chrysler 300M. Merkur enters the chat, as does Cizeta and the equally prodigious V6 Chevy Cavalier Z24, 4-cylinder Cadillac Cimarron, and, of course, the forever elegant Lumina Euro.  What's that? You'd like to know how many V6s were on sale in Europe in the late 80s? One. Or two. Somewhere between 1 and 3-ish. We think. Pretty sure. In any case, the hottest of the hot Tipo Quattro cars are QUICK. The Saab 9000 Aero being the quickest FWD car of the time, but the Thema 8.32 and Alfa 164Q4 were close behind. As were the Dodge Omni GLHS and the Ford Taurus SHO – the original fast blob. Mazda quien esta celebrando 17 años en México, con una evolución importante, El 6 de octubre de 2005 llegaron a México con un fuerte compromiso de crecimiento. En el año 2014 se inauguró la planta Mazda de Salamanca, reafirmando la historia y compromiso con la gente a través de productos hechos por manos mexicanas, como Mazda2, Mazda3, CX-30 y ahora se hizo el anunció de Mazda CX-3. Este camino hacia el nuevo capítulo de la marca lleva el nombre de Mazda Mirai, que en japonés quiere decir: el futuro de Mazda. No te puedes perder este episodio porque su Presidente nos dice porque ellos no van por el camino de la electrificación, Mazda es diferente y buscarán lo que los clientes quieran en el mercado mexicano y seguirán produciendo vehiculos de combustión interna tanto de gasolina como otros combustibles dependiendo del mercado al que esten enfocados. Tienes que escuchar todo este episodio para conocer del nuevo capitulo de Mazda Mirai, el futuro de la marca. 

Mazda nos ha recibido en su sede europea de Leverkusen para que conozcamos de primera mano su nuevo buque insignia, el Mazda CX-60. Un modelo que permite a la marca japonesa entrar en un nuevo segmento del mercado. Un titular: Es el coche más potente jamás fabricado por Mazda hasta el momento. En Mazda están contentos de como se estaba portando este 2022 para ellos. Al menos hasta el mes de abril. A partir de ahí y hasta el cierra de agosto han tenido que luchar contra las circunstancias de la guerra, el COVID, la falta de suministros… motivos todos ellos que han retrasado las entregas. Sus ventas en España hasta agosto cayeron a razón de un 13,68 % más que el 9,41% que cayó el mercado. Nos cuenta Jose Antonio Moya, Jefe de Prensa de Mazda España, de lo orgullosos están de que todos los coches que están fabricando están ya vendidos. La demanda supera a la oferta para el fabricante japonés. Pese a ello en 2021 a nivel mundial se vendieron 150.000 unidades. Algo que está muy por debajo de las expectativas con las que iniciaron el año. Por eso se han fijado una nueva meta. Que es tratar de en el año fiscal, de abril a abril de 2023, vender alrededor de 190.000 unidades. Hoy en este programa vamos a hablar largo y tendido del nuevo Mazda CX-60 pero también os vamos a contar como modelos nacidos en 2022 como el Mazda2 y Mazda2 Hybrid o el exitoso Mazda CX-5 han logrado el favor del mercado. Otra gran novedad de la que hablaremos en este podcast es el eléctrico Mazda MX-30 que hace bien poco nos sorprendías con una nueva batería. Pero la mayor novedad para 2023 será la adopción por parte de este MX-30 del motor térmico rotatorio para establecer un rango extendido de uso. De esta manera se convertirá en un coche catalogado como PHEV pero con las ventajas de estar impulsado siempre por el motor eléctrico. También hablaremos con José María Terol, Presidente de Mazda ESpaña, del, objetivo de neutralidad de carbono para 2050. En Mazda están convencidos de que lo conseguirán en 2035. Eso sí, nos avisan que esto no dependerá sólo de Mazda sino también dependerá de la industria, los políticos y los movimientos de los lobbys en general. Cerramos la introducción al podcast hablando del lanzamiento de nuevos modelos de aquí a 2030. De echo Mazda en 2025 van a lanzar una arquitectura escalable multisolución (plataforma eléctrica específica) que le va a dar muchas ventajas a la hora de construir modelos con diferentes soluciones tecnológicas y adaptados a las necesidades de diferentes clientes. Destacar antes de entrar en materia que el CX-60 ya ha vendido 14.000 unidades antes de llegar a los concesionarios. Esto es algo que nunca había sucedido con un modelo nuevo teniendo en cuenta que, además, el fabricante japonés entra en un mercado premium nuevo para ellos. Desde Mazda Europa nos apuntan que el nuevo Mazda CX-60 llega con una gran herencia japonesa que queda clara con tan sólo echar un vistazo a su carrocería. En ella podemos encontrar la pureza del diseño Kodo. Destacando un capó largo y un habitáculo desplazado hacia atrás que destaca la belleza de los espacios vacíos no abrumados por la tecnología. Mide 4,8 metros de largo y viene a jugar en el segmento premium del mercado contra rivales como el Audi Q5, el BMW X3, el Mercedes GLC o el Volvo XC-60. En su interior encontramos un salpicadero horizontal y una consola central muy amplia con un diseño minimalista y que huye de grandes giros de diseño o enormes pantallas. Gama de motores del Mazda CX-60 HÍbrido enchufable PHEV de 2.5 litros y 4 cilindros con una potencia combinada de 327 caballos y 500 Nm de par. Todos llevarán una caja de cambios de ocho relaciones y tracción total AWD. El motor de combustión ofrece una potencia de 192 caballos mientras que el eléctrico se encarga de aportar otros 175 caballos. En cuanto al par 250 Nm son eléctricos y 261 son del de combustión. Las baterías son de iones litio con una capacidad de 17,8 kWh. Dispone de una potencia de carga de 7,2 kW en AC y autonomía de unos 68km. Diésel de 3,3 litros y 6 cilindros en líneas con dos acabados de potencia de 200 y 254 caballos. Ambos asociados a una caja de cambios automática de ocho marchas 8AT. En cuanto a la tracción el motor de 200 caballos será de propulsión y el 254 tracción total AWD. Este motor lleva la tecnología más moderna y está preparado preparado ya para cumplir la normativa Euro7. Llegará al mercado en enero de 2023. Gasolina con tecnología Skyactive X y motor de 6 cilindros en línea y 3 litros de cilindrada. Todos con caja de cambios automática de 8 marchas y seguramente combinará la tracción trasera y la total. Tanto el motor de gasolina como el diésel dispondrán de tecnología micro hibridada de 48 voltios con lo que dispondrán de etiqueta ECO. Caja de cambios automática totalmente nueva de 8 marchas con un engranaje planetario tipo al convertidor de par pero no lleva un convertidor de par si no un embrague multidisco. Todo para mejorar consumos y eficiencia. Es más compacta y por lo tanto deja más sitio para los pies del conductor y los pedales están mejor colocados. La batería está en el suelo mejorando la dinámica del vehículo. Hablaremos de la conducción del nuevo Mazda CX-60 con nuestro compañero Jorge Morillo de SoyMotor para contaros como funcionan los inéditos sistemas de suspensión. El CX-60 dispone de una tecnología que cuando el coche entra en curva manda un pequeño toque a los frenos que hacen que se mitigue el balanceo de la carrocería. Todo gracias, entre otras cosas, a un nuevo brazo de suspensión trasera. En otro orden de cosas el nuevo Mazda CX-60 personaliza la posición de conducción con una cámara que detecta la altura de los ojos del conductor y confirmando su altura en la pantalla multimedia ajusta el asiento y te lo memoriza y te reconoce y ya te coloca todo a tu gusto. Dispone de un botón en la consola central para seleccionar uno de los 4 modos de conducción: Normal, Sport, EV y Off Road. Y un quinto disponible para cuando estamos remolcando algún tipo de remolque. En cuanto a su maletero es de 570 litros incluso en la versión híbrida enchufable que en otros modelos pierde espacio por la posición de las baterías. La conectividad está a la última con la adopción de los sistema de emparejamiento con smartphone Apple Car Play y Android Auto. Los responsables de Mazda ESpaña también nos contaron su estrategia Zoom Zoom Sostenible con un enfoque multi solución. O, lo que es lo mismo, tener respuestas a todas las necesidades del cliente. Es un coche muy enfocado a un tipo de cliente masculino, con una edad media de unos 48 años con nivel alto de ingresos y de estudios. Aterriza en el segmento M-SUV que representa un 3,4% de cuota en total pero que sube al 5,4% en canal empresas que es donde está muy enfocado. Por combustible el PHEV (20% del mix de ventas parece…) es una buena parte pero no hay que perder de vista al diésel. Dos tercios del segmento suv es diésel. Mientras que solo un 8,5% representa el gasolina. A diferencia de sus rivales de marca sus acabados se llamaran Primer LIne, Exclusive LIne, Homura y Takumi. En precio hay unos saltos de unos 4000 euros entre acabados. La versión Homura parece que será la más vendía con un 40% del mix de ventas. Se podrá configurar con llantas que van desde las 18 a las 20 pulgadas. El precio de partida del PHEV que será el primero en llegar al mercado será de 50.200 euros. A finales de 2023 llegará Mazda CX-80 (el CX-60 de 7 plazas) que será más largo y tendrá tres filas de asientos con espacio para 7 ocupantes. Estará construido sobre la plataforma del CX-60. Otra de las grandes novedades llega de la mano del Programa Mazda Unique Experience que une tres puntos: garantía, servicios al cliente y conectividad. We have been testing a few powerful cars recently which is fine for the rev head but what about the practical runabout. The Honda Jazz is classified in the Light car class which is the second smallest in the sedan category. Only the Micros are smaller. In this class there are 14 competitors and in year-to-date terms the Hyundai Accent is the top seller followed by Mazda2, Toyota Yaris, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo, Kia Rio.
