Message for 04/13/2025 "Palm Sunday" by Justin McTeer. *All verses are NLT unless otherwise noted* Matthew 21:1-11 - As Jesus and the disciples approached Jerusalem, they came to the town of Bethphage on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of them on ahead. 2 “Go into the village over there,” he said. “As soon as you enter it, you will see a donkey tied there, with its colt beside it. Untie them and bring them to me. 3 If anyone asks what you are doing, just say, ‘The Lord needs them,' and he will immediately let you take them.” 4 This took place to fulfill the prophecy that said,5 “Tell the people of Jerusalem, ‘Look, your King is coming to you. He is humble, riding on a donkey—riding on a donkey's colt.'” 6 The two disciples did as Jesus commanded.7 They brought the donkey and the colt to him and threw their garments over the colt, and he sat on it. 8 Most of the crowd spread their garments on the road ahead of him, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.9 Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around him were shouting, “Praise God for the Son of David! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Praise God in highest heaven!” 10 The entire city of Jerusalem was in an uproar as he entered. “Who is this?” they asked. 11 And the crowds replied, “It's Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.” THE CARE Luke 19:39-44 - But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, “Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!” 40 He replied, “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!” 41 But as he came closer to Jerusalem and saw the city ahead, he began to weep. 42 “How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace. But now it is too late, and peace is hidden from your eyes.43 Before long your enemies will build ramparts against your walls and encircle you and close in on you from every side. 44 They will crush you into the ground, and your children with you. Your enemies will not leave a single stone in place, because you did not recognize it when God visited you. THE CLEANSING Luke 19:45-48 - Then Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people selling animals for sacrifices. 46 He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be a house of prayer,' but you have turned it into a den of thieves.” 47 After that, he taught daily in the Temple, but the leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the other leaders of the people began planning how to kill him. 48 But they could think of nothing, because all the people hung on every word he said. Psalm 139:23-24 - Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. THE CORRECTION Matthew 21:23-32 - When Jesus returned to the Temple and began teaching, the leading priests and elders came up to him. They demanded, “By what authority are you doing all these things? Who gave you the right?” 24 “I'll tell you by what authority I do these things if you answer one question,” Jesus replied. 25 “Did John's authority to baptize come from heaven, or was it merely human?” They talked it over among themselves. “If we say it was from heaven, he will ask us why we didn't believe John. 26 But if we say it was merely human, we'll be mobbed because the people believe John was a prophet.” 27 So they finally replied, “We don't know.” And Jesus responded, “Then I won't tell you by what authority I do these things. 28 “But what do you think about this? A man with two sons told the older boy, ‘Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.' 29 The son answered, ‘No, I won't go,' but later he changed his mind and went anyway. 30 Then the father told the other son, ‘You go,' and he said, ‘Yes, sir, I will.' But he didn't go. 31 “Which of the two obeyed his father?” They replied, “The first.” Then Jesus explained his meaning: “I tell you the truth, corrupt tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the Kingdom of God before you do.32 For John the Baptist came and showed you the right way to live, but you didn't believe him, while tax collectors and prostitutes did. And even when you saw this happening, you refused to believe him and repent of your sins. Matthew 22:15-33 - Then the Pharisees met together to plot how to trap Jesus into saying something for which he could be arrested. 16 They sent some of their disciples, along with the supporters of Herod, to meet with him. “Teacher,” they said, “we know how honest you are. You teach the way of God truthfully. You are impartial and don't play favorites. 17 Now tell us what you think about this: Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?” 18 But Jesus knew their evil motives. “You hypocrites!” he said. “Why are you trying to trap me? 19 Here, show me the coin used for the tax.”When they handed him a Roman coin, 20 he asked, “Whose picture and title are stamped on it?” 21 “Caesar's,” they replied. “Well, then,” he said, “give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God.” 22 His reply amazed them, and they went away. 23 That same day Jesus was approached by some Sadducees—religious leaders who say there is no resurrection from the dead. They posed this question: 24 “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies without children, his brother should marry the widow and have a child who will carry on the brother's name.' 25 Well, suppose there were seven brothers. The oldest one married and then died without children, so his brother married the widow. 26 But the second brother also died, and the third brother married her. This continued with all seven of them. 27 Last of all, the woman also died. 28 So tell us, whose wife will she be in the resurrection? For all seven were married to her.” 29 Jesus replied, “Your mistake is that you don't know the Scriptures, and you don't know the power of God. 30 For when the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage. In this respect they will be like the angels in heaven. 31 “But now, as to whether there will be a resurrection of the dead—haven't you ever read about this in the Scriptures? Long after Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had died, God said, 32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' So he is the God of the living, not the dead.” 33 When the crowds heard him, they were astounded at his teaching. THE CROSS Luke 23:33-34 - When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. 34 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”
So Much More: Creating Space for God (Lectio Divina and Scripture Meditation)
Jesus’s anger may not be something we often reflect on, but in today’s guided Lent meditation, we witness a moment when He expresses righteous anger. During the final week before His crucifixion, Jesus enters the temple, overturns the tables of the money changers, and drives out those exploiting worshipers. His anger isn’t reckless—it’s intentional, purposeful, and deeply rooted in love for God’s people. This passage from Mark 11:15–18 invites us to consider what stirs the heart of Jesus and how He responds when worship is corrupted. As you meditate on this scene, you’ll be invited to step into the story—as a disciple watching in awe, a religious leader resisting His authority, a pilgrim seeking to worship, or someone in need of healing. Through reflection, we’ll explore what stands out and how this passage speaks into our lives today. Then, you’ll be invited to respond to Jesus in a personal way, opening your heart to what He is revealing. Take a few moments to slow down, listen, and receive what God has for you today. I pray this meditation helps you encounter Jesus in a fresh way. Get your free Lent Journal here. Here are some additional helpful links: Download your free LENT guide here. The Entire meditation text is: Mark 11:15–18, NLT 15 When (Jesus and his disciples) arrived back in Jerusalem, Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people buying and selling animals for sacrifices. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves, 16 and he stopped everyone from using the Temple as a marketplace. 17 He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.” 18 When the leading priests and teachers of religious law heard what Jesus had done, they began planning how to kill him. But they were afraid of him because the people were so amazed at his teaching. PREPARING FOR THE PASSOVER After Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead Caiaphas the High Priest unintentionally prophesied that Jesus' death would not be for Israel only, but for all the children of God scattered around the world, and from that time on the Jewish leaders began plotting the death of Jesus. The Bible says that Jesus then stopped his public ministry and left Bethany, near Jerusalem, and went to the edge of the desert, to the village of Ephraim, and stayed there for a while with his disciples before returning to Bethany. Reading on now in the next chapter of the Gospel of John. John 12:1 As the Passover approached, many people came to Jerusalem early for the cleansing rituals, and in the Temple they whispered, “Will Jesus come?” And hearing this the chief priests and Pharisees warned everyone to report him so they could arrest him. Six days before Passover Jesus arrived in Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom he had raised from the dead. A dinner was held in Jesus' honour and while Lazarus reclined with Jesus Martha served, and Mary came and poured expensive perfume on Jesus' feet, wiping them with her hair, with the fragrant aroma filling the house. Judas Iscariot objected to Mary doing this, pretending to care for the poor, though he often stole from the disciples' funds, and Jesus replied, “Leave her alone. She's preparing me for burial. The poor you will always have with you, but not me.” Crowds gathered, wanting to see both Jesus and Lazarus, while the chief priests even plotted to kill Lazarus, since many were believing in Jesus because of him. The next day, news of Jesus' arrival spread, and as Jesus entered Jerusalem for the Passover week the whole city was stirred. People in the crowd were saying “It's Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee, and the large crowd came out to meet him waving palm branches and shouting, “Hosannah. blessed is the King of Israel!” Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a young donkey, fulfilling the prophecy from Zechariah: “Don't be afraid, people of Israel. Your King comes, riding on a donkey's colt.” But the disciples only understood this later, after Jesus was risen in glory. Jesus then went into the Temple into the court of the gentiles and drove out the Temple money changers, angrily overturning their tables while they were selling doves at exorbitant prices to the visiting Jewish pilgrims. He said, “The Scriptures say, ‘My Temple will be a house of prayer,' but you've turned it into a den of thieves!” And the blind and the crippled came to him in the Temple, and he healed them, but when the chief priests and religious leaders saw the miracles and heard children shouting, “God bless the Son of David!” they were angry. “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked Jesus. “Yes,” Jesus replied. “Haven't you read the Scriptures? ‘Even children and infants will give praise.' Those who had witnessed the raising of Lazarus spread the word, which drew even more people, and the Pharisees were getting desperate and said, “We've lost, everyone's following him!” Some Greeks who had come for Passover asked Philip if they could meet Jesus and Jesus responded, “The time has come for me to be glorified. Like a grain of wheat, I must fall into the ground and die in order to produce a harvest of new life in the earth. Those who cling to life will lose it; those who give it up for my sake will gain eternal life, and anyone who wants to follow me must go where I go, and the Father will honour them.” Jesus prayed, “Father, glorify your name,” and a voice from heaven replied, “I have, and I will again.” Some thought it was thunder; others said an angel spoke. But Jesus told them, “The voice was for your sake, and now is the time for a time of crisis that will test and assess the world. When I'm lifted up, I'll draw everyone to me,” referring to his death. The crowd was confused. “Isn't the Messiah supposed to live forever?” Jesus answered, “Walk in the light while you have it. Then you will become children of light.” After saying this, he left and stayed out of sight for a short time, and despite all his miracles, many still didn't believe. But Isaiah had prophesied this, saying their eyes and hearts would be hardened so they wouldn't turn and be healed. Yet some leaders did believe, but kept silent, fearing the Pharisees would expel them from the synagogue because they valued human praise more than` God's. Then Jesus came back to speak once again to the crowd and cried out, “If you trust me, you're trusting God who sent me. I've come as light into the darkness. I didn't come to judge the world but to save it. But those who reject me and my words will be judged by the truth I've spoken. These are not my own words—they're from the Father, who gives eternal life. And I say exactly what he tells me to say.” Reading on into the next chapter of John – Chapter 13:1 On the evening of the Passover supper, Jesus knew his time on earth was ending and he would soon return to the Father, and the devil had already prompted Judas Iscariot to betray him during the supper. Jesus, fully aware of his own divine origin and destiny, showed his deep love for his disciples by getting up from the table, removing his robe, wrapping a towel around himself, and beginning to wash their feet. When he reached Peter, Peter protested, “Lord, you shouldn't be washing my feet! Jesus said, “You don't understand now, but you will later.” Peter insisted, “Never! “Jesus replied, “If I don't wash you, you can't share life with me.” Then wash my hands and head too!” Peter said. Jesus told him, “A person who has bathed only needs their feet washed to be fully clean. And you are clean—though not all of you,” referring to Judas who would betray him. After washing their feet, Jesus put on his robe and asked, “Do you understand what I've done? You call me ‘Lord' and ‘Teacher'—and rightly so. And if I, your Lord, have washed your feet, you should wash one another's. I've just given you an example of what serving means —you know that I have served you so serve one another, and you'll be blessed. “I'm not speaking to all of you; I know whom I've chosen. But the Scripture must be fulfilled: ‘The one who shares my bread will betray me.' I'm telling you now so when it happens, you'll believe. Anyone who welcomes my messenger welcomes me—and the One who sent me.” Deeply troubled, Jesus said, “One of you will betray me.” The disciples were all stunned, and each one said to him ‘Is it I Lord, except for John who leaned in and asked, “Lord, who is it? ” Jesus answered, “It's the one I give this piece of bread to.” Then he dipped it and gave it to Judas Iscariot. As soon as Judas ate it, Satan entered him. Jesus said to Judas, “Hurry—go and do what you must do.” The others didn't understand—some thought Jesus was sending Judas out to buy food or give money to the poor. Judas left quickly, stepping into the night. Once he was gone, Jesus said, “Now the time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified, and God will be glorified in him. Dear children, I'll be with you only a little longer. You'll look for me, but you can't come where I'm going. “So I give you a new command: love one another as I have loved you. Your love for each other will show the world that you are my disciples.” Peter asked, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus replied, “You can't follow me now—but you will later. “But why not now?” Peter asked. “I'm ready to die for you!” Jesus answered, “Die for me? Before the rooster crows tomorrow, you'll deny three times that you even know me.” The Last Supper was the last time Jesus would gather with all of his disciples in one place and teach them and model to them the way of serving and loving one another. When he broke the bread and drank the cup with him he said ‘do this in remembrance of me'. He was telling them of his expectation of how they would live for him with loyalty and unity and sacrificial love for one another and for the world. But he also told them the reality that in the hours to come one of them would betray him and one of them would deny him and that all of them would scatter and desert him when he surrendered himself to those who would take him and kill him. The disciples were incredulous to all of this, still not understanding the meaning of the things Jesus did and said, and this was what Jesus had expected. But the actions and words he expressed that night were immortalised, and would be lived out, serving as a remembrance for his disciples and for all of humanity who would believe. Heaven would soon bestow faith and the grace upon the earth through the Holy Spirit, and the events of that evening would encourage and inspire and challenge every soul that hears this story. The man Judas allowed darkness to take over his being because of his wilful anger and resentment because of his lost hopes to bring about his idea of justice. He regretted what he did immediately after his treachery. Judas was unable to surrender the demand of his self-centred justice that drove his life. Instead of letting Jesus die for him and give him a new life he took his own life in his despair. Nevertheless, Jesus still died for him and said to his Father on the cross ‘forgive them Father they know not what they do.' Not one of them knew what they were doing. Perhaps Mary his mother understood because it was the sword that continually pierced her heart, which was prophesied to her by Simeon when Jesus was dedicated as a baby. The man Peter denied him just as Jesus predicted but his sin was not angry or resentful but a fear of being associated with the shame of what he saw as the failure of Jesus' mission. He lived to receive the forgiveness and repentance and faith in the totally committed love of Jesus for him. He received the commission to live in partnership with Jesus as a witness of his resurrection. When we can believe in the totally committed love of Jesus for us and we can accept our imperfect selves as being loved with so much compassion, we can then allow that love and compassion to flow out from us into the imperfect lives of the people in our personal world. We, like Peter receive that commission to be in partnership with Jesus in reconciling people to God for forgiveness and receiving the faith and the grace to be transformed into his likeness as a New Creation. Amen

TAKE UNCOMMON CARE TO AVOID COMMON MISTAKES The “More, More, More” Mistake- The issue in the Bible isn't the amount we have, but the attitude we have about money. Untie it and bring it here. 31 If anyone asks, ‘Why are you untying that colt?' just say, ‘The Lord needs it.'” 32 So they went and found the colt, just as Jesus had said. 33 And sure enough, as they were untying it, the owners asked them, “Why are you untying that colt?” 34 And the disciples simply replied, “The Lord needs it.” 35 So they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their garments over it for him to ride on. 36 As he rode along, the crowds spread out their garments on the road ahead of him. 37 When he reached the place where the road started down the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen. 38 “Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the LORD! Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven!” 39 But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, “Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!” 40 He replied, “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!” Jesus Weeps over Jerusalem 41 But as he came closer to Jerusalem and saw the city ahead, he began to weep. 42 “How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace. Seven Days Pt. 2 | March 3rd, 2024Pastor Wes Morris Mark 11:15-19 (GNT) When they arrived in Jerusalem, Jesus went to the Temple and began to drive out all those who were buying and selling. He overturned the tables of the moneychangers and the stools of those who sold pigeons, and he would not let anyone carry anything through the Temple courtyards. He then taught the people: “It is written in the Scriptures that God said, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer for the people of all nations.' But you have turned it into a hideout for thieves!”The chief priests and the teachers of the Law heard of this, so they began looking for some way to kill Jesus. Matthew 21 NLT read aloud by Simon MacFarlane. 1 As Jesus and the disciples approached Jerusalem, they came to the town of Bethphage on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of them on ahead. 2 “Go into the village over there,” he said. “As soon as you enter it, you will see a donkey tied there, with its colt beside it. For they say, ‘You have taught children and infants to give you praise.'” 17 Then he returned to Bethany, where he stayed overnight. 18 In the morning, as Jesus was returning to Jerusalem, he was hungry, 19 and he noticed a fig tree beside the road. He went over to see if there were any figs, but there were only leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” And immediately the fig tree withered up. 20 The disciples were amazed when they saw this and asked, “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” 21 Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don't doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and it will happen. 22 You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.” 23 When Jesus returned to the Temple and began teaching, the leading priests and elders came up to him. Walk In Heavenly Places By Faith (3) (audio) David Eells – 8/6/23 A Good Word Debbie Fenske 7/25/23 (David's notes in red) Blessings to you, brethren. I am sharing this word I received from the Lord early this morning. “My daughter, pen My heart upon this page. These words from My heart are for you, My people. My word to you now, is this. Stay pure. Stay calm. Stay vigilant. Stay gentle in spirit. But you must be bold, and strong against your adversary, Satan, the devil, casting down his assault weapons of condemnation, doubt, and fear. Know that your angels are there, and they fight for you. But you must use your armor against this wicked foe. Remain on guard, and stand against the distractions of the enemy, the world, and your flesh. For they are all one against you. They are all one enemy of your souls. They are one enemy against your brothers and your sisters. They are against you, because they are against Me who is in you. Yes, Your Greater One Is in you. This is why you already know, and already confess the victory over each plan of the enemy. But some among you are weaker in their confession of what, and who they are in Me. (We are by faith Sons of the Living God given His authority to rule over the flash, the devil, and the world. The Strong man is bound and we are to plunder.) I hear their cries unto Me, their desire to be strong in their faith, and strong in the fight. As they are growing in the faith, hold your weapons high over them, for you are one with them. Every member must be protected, keeping their eyes on Me. (I.e. Protect with our faith those who are weak.) I Am the one that allows your enemy to breakthrough past the angels so that you learn to fight, and resist, becoming stronger in confessing My Word in the spirit of great boldness and authority against the enemy, for yourselves, and for your brethren who are weaker. (Give no place to the enemy in our speech or actions.) But I tell you this, they will not remain weak. They will grow in strength. And, I will, in this day, cause them to grow quickly, understanding how to handle their weapons of warfare against the enemy. So, in faith, you must see each battle won in victorious conquest. Rise up! And be victorious over the war for your souls. Shout My name! Shout My name which is your banner. Stand, and be encouraged in what I tell you right now, that not one among you will be left lying on the battlefield. Fight for My great name, for yourselves, and for one another. I Am always your Sword, and I will always be your Strong Tower. Victory is yours through My great Name, for I Am your Great Reward. Keep awake, discerning, fighting. And through Me you will always attain the Victory. Rejoice that each battle has already been won!” Keep The Cross Close To Your Heart Marie Kelton 7/28/23 (David's notes in red) I had an open vision during the meeting where the Lord was sitting next to me, and He had a necklace with a cross on it. (The crucified walk.)(And our enemies were conquered at the cross) The Lord then put the necklace on me. The necklace was long enough to lie on top of my heart. The Lord spoke to me and said, "Keep this close to your heart". Luk 9:23 And he said unto all, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. (Our cross is obedience to the Word in the midst of trials.) Pro 4:20-21 My son, attend to my words; Incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; Keep them in the midst of thy heart. Pro 6:20-21 My son, keep the commandment of thy father, And forsake not the law of thy mother: 21 Bind them continually upon thy heart; Tie them about thy neck. Newer Heights of Praise and Worship Debbie Fenske - 10/14/22 This morning on our Zoom scripture and prayer meeting, ...Father started speaking this Word to me: "I am lifting you up into newer heights of praise and worship that even astounds the angels in heaven. This is the time where I am bringing My true people throughout the earth into newer heights of worship and praise of Me. This is one way My glory is going to fill the earth. For as My people worship and praise Me in the fullness of spirit and truth, the power of My Holy Spirit will fill you, and My glory will fill you, and will flow forth from you, even now, to restore and revive many of my own. So, My people, let My glory, and My power flow!” Amen! Thank you Father! Testimony Experience Anonymous 5/29/23 (David's notes in red) I experienced myself being up so very high and seated in the heavenlies in spiritual light. I saw many devils located way down beneath me. They were so very far down in darkness which seemed to have no end. I heard devils trying to call out to me, but I could barely hear what they were saying, because they were so far away. It sounded like they were saying things similar to the thoughts they try to give me. But for me to hear clearly what they were saying, I would have to leave my place up so high and go down lower. (If go low to hear the enemy we are in their territory of power.) I saw how they are way below me and while I'm in Christ (in the Heavens) I have authority over them, and they literally have to obey me; they are literally under me. The enemy tried to give me fear of the unknown, which is just not trusting God. While I was experiencing all this, I knew that if I agreed with the fear of the unknown, I would be taken out of this place. But by trusting God I could stay in this high place in the Heavens. I had to not agree with the familiar thoughts and feelings of fear of the unknown. If I entertained it, I would be taken lower. It seemed as though the devils were so far down that they couldn't see me properly, but they knew I was there and they would shoot arrows of thoughts and feelings to try and get me to look at them. (Don't pay attention to their thoughts.) Sometimes the arrows would get me, and I would either choose to listen and agree with it or choose to ignore it. But most of the time they would shoot randomly and miss me because I was so high up and not fully in view. If I commanded the devils to be quiet, they had to obey straight away. I saw that the flesh and enemy are always trying to take us out of this high place in the Heavens, by using thoughts, feelings, self-will, fear, and doubt, wanting to control us. We need to remember and know each moment God is in control and allow Him do what He wants, within us and outside of us. Only when we are in Him fully and completely aligned with His Word, will and Spirit do we have this full authority over the enemy. Submit to God and the devil must flee. Eph 2:4-6 but God, being rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace have ye been saved), 6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus: Luk 10:17-20 And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject unto us in thy name. 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan fallen as lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you. 20 Nevertheless in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. Eph 6:16 withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. Col 3:1-3 If then ye were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth. 3 For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 1Pe 5:8-9 Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour, 9 whom withstand stedfast in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are accomplished in your brethren who are in the world. Jas 4:7 Be subject therefore unto God; but resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Word Of God A Flame Of Fire Marie Kelton 7/28/23 (David's notes in red) During the meeting, I was dealing with anxiety. I told the Lord about the anxiety. I then had an open vision. The Lord was sitting next to me. I saw in the palm of the Lord's hand was a bible and the bible was on fire. I looked up at the Lord and His eyes were a flame of fire. The Lord opened the bible and the scriptures in the bible were on fire also. Then, the Lord said, “The scriptures burn up the wood, hay, and stubble.” (Rom_12:2 And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind (with the Word who is Jesus), that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.) (Dealing with anxiety and other fleshy emotions, are the trials and temptations we go through in order to overcome them by applying faith in the promises of the Word of God. Php 4:6 In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. We give thanks to God with our requests, because He has already delivered us from these temptations.) 1Co 3:11-13 For other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 But if any man buildeth on the foundation gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, stubble; (The thoughts, ideas, and works of the old life, which many never reject.) 13 each man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself shall prove each man's work of what sort it is. (The fiery trial will conquer the wood, hay, and stubble if we repent and believe the Word.) Then I heard or thought, “The Word of the Lord is a flame of fire.” I asked the Lord what was the fire that covered the bible. The Lord said, "It is the fire of the Holy Spirit." Mat 3:11-12 I indeed baptize you in water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and in fire: 12 whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing-floor; and he will gather his wheat into the garner, but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire. Entering Into The Rest Winnie Osegueda 8/30/21 (David's notes in red) I dreamed I got dressed to go outside in my favorite comfortable gray dress. (Gray in this case represents death to self. We need to be comfortable in the death of the old man.) It was a beautiful and bright sunny day outside and I heard David pull up in the blue truck that him and Michael drive in often. David was wearing a denim jacket with patchwork of different colors, (Like Joseph's coat of many colors representing the different attributed of the light of the Lord. This represents putting on by faith these works.) and he came to talk to and give something to Chuc. (Chuck means to throw away or discard. In our trials we give up the old man and his ways and we put on the new man of Christ and His ways.) Angelica and Marie were also outside, and Angelica had a little boy with her, maybe about 8 or 9 years of age. (Representing her personal Man-child of “Christ in you the hope of glory”.) We had a couple of swings in our front yard for Zoe´ to swing on. Zoe´ brought out a comfortable teal chair that I keep in the bedroom of our house, and she hooked it onto the middle of her other swings, so that I could swing as well. (Zoe represents God's Life who will give the rest of the chair. The chair represents being seated in heavenly places with Him.) Marie and Angelica wanted to try and swing on the teal swing chair, but the weight limit was below our weights, so I said that we couldn't do that. I told them that I was able to get on it before, but now I needed to get some weight off. (Too much weight or flesh will not allow us to be seated in heavenly places and you cannot enjoy or enter into the rest of faith.) In another scene, I was in a car and Chuc was driving. I was turned around and I was observing from the back window and saw a man driving a red pick-up truck directly behind us, but also on our right. (This represents looking behind to see that the gifts were already given to us at the Cross. The man in the truck could represent Jesus. Red is for blood.) The man in the truck threw some butterflies into the air as gifts, but I wasn't certain that they were real. Some of the butterflies were hanging on a string, three in a row. (The gifts of butterflies represent freedom and the new Life we have in Christ. Winnie, not knowing if the butterflies were real, is walking by sight and the perception of spiritual things are not clear. If we are seeing in the natural, the promises don't seem real to us. The three butterflies hanging on a string, could represent spirit, soul and body salvation.) Some of the butterflies landed high up in a tree and I was sad because I thought I couldn't reach it, but then I saw a little girl reach them. (We believe we can't reach them, but we need child-like faith.) I then remembered Angelica had put some butterflies away for me inside a blender cup I have that I use to make fruit smoothies. (The Angels preserve our Butterflies representing our born again fruit.) It was hanging right over my teal chair swing in my front yard. I thought I couldn't reach it, but I was able to. (Because that chair speaks of resting in the heavenly places by faith.) I opened the cup and there were different kinds of yellow and black butterflies that reminded me of Swallowtails. Some of the butterflies were yellow with stripes, some had few stripes, and some had no stripes at all. (The Lord is using a play on words here. Angelica put the butterflies in Winnie's cup because in essence we have to ‘swallow' the promises by drinking the water of the Word. Swallowtails represent the grace and free nature of the soul. Through Jesus, God gave us freely the grace to be set free and fly. They are reachable when we reach out by faith to take them.) I asked the Lord for a verse for this dream and received, Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in Jehovah with all thy heart, And lean not upon thine own understanding: 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he will direct thy paths. (Don't only believe when we see, but by faith in what God has said.) Cleansed His Way Samuel Fire 5/9/23 (David's notes in red) I heard in prayer: “So much now is being overcome by the breaking of all strongholds and learning to hold the new life and ground. The false feelings you have, are the reactions and attacks in the spiritual through witchcraft. Everything you feel is bodily. The flesh feels, but the Spirit is fire.” (I was reminded of the wood hay and stubble how it burns in the fire, and then shown that the trees and plants would scream if they had feelings. Then when you do physical exercise or have attacks etc., this is the same in relation, but never lasts longer than God's love. His love lasts forever. Then I was reminded that God wants us to have the purest, finest gold and the perfect place for eternity with Him. He wants us, not the stuff that has been wrapped around us like a candy bar wrapper.) “Remember the good and refrain from the ways of the bad. What may be good once, can be bad later.” (I saw an apple was fresh and ripe, when left alone would eventually rot.) “The focus on Me was to teach many. As soon as self is led, corruption caused wickedness to remain. Remember to do good and set fire to evil.” (I was reminded how even Lot's wife's name is not mentioned. Nor was Job's wife named. Our attention is to the righteous. We are to give Glory and Praise in the Lord for what He said is good.) (I then saw myself entering an area which is covered in darkness and evil. It would try to stick to me and attack me. I saw myself using a clean sponge to wipe a wall, and the area was cleaner, but the sponge now needed cleaning.) (Then you can throw it in the fire.) “Return to Me. Have the flame never go out. It has spread and will burn. Your duties are simply to pray and praise. I will show you more.” (I felt this may be for just myself as everyone has different roles in the Body of Christ. I also felt the Word is to be spoken, because that always pleases God. (And brings the Word to pass.) I saw a buffing pad polishing something metallic that was already very beautiful. The shine afterwards was so intense that looked like it was glowing.) (Getting rid of the last impurities so the shine comes through.) “Always be speaking the truth. (The Word) Keep reading and declaring promises.” (His promises cannot be negated.) “To remove the hardest and worst hurts from the past, takes the longest time. Persevere. (Shine) When you restrict the body, I Am closer. Break and remove the strongholds. Declare the victory. Rely on the promises in My Son. See the end. Imagine and picture (and speak) the victory.” (I saw singing Holy Angels and worship with the words ‘Holy, Holy, Holy'.) A Holy Vessel Anonymous 1/3/23 (David's notes in red) I heard in prayer: “No matter where you are, there is a deep darkness. (There is always darkness trying to overwhelm and take over. Consume the light of the Word and shine.) Isa 60:1-2 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of Jehovah is risen upon thee. 2 For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but Jehovah will arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. NENT Col 1:12-13 giving thanks to the Father, who fitted you to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; 13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love; Joh 1:5 And the light shineth in the darkness; and the darkness apprehended it not. You are to be in the fight. (Be in constant prayer and warfare.) NENT 1Th 5:16-18 Rejoice always; 17 pray without ceasing; 18 in everything give thanks: for this is God's will in Christ Jesus toward you. Eph 6:12 For our wrestling is not against blood and flesh, but against the principalities, against the authorities, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spirituals of the wickedness in the heavenlies. 2Co 10:3-4 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh 4 (for the weapons of our warfare are not of flesh, but mighty before God unto casting down of strongholds. 1Ti 6:12 Fight the good fight of the faith, lay hold on the life eternal, whereunto thou wast called, and didst confess the good confession in the sight of many witnesses. Be at peace in Me and where you are. (Trusting in the Lord always.) Pro 3:5 Trust in Jehovah with all thy heart, And lean not upon thine own understanding: Psa 37:4 Delight thyself also in Jehovah; And he will give thee the desires of thy heart. Make the place at that moment a Heaven. (Turn all situations into peace and joy.) Neh 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye grieved; for the joy of Jehovah is your strength. NENT Rom 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in power of the Holy Spirit. This is a warning to not fall into the deep end. (Not to let the enemy steal anything.) NENT Joh 10:10 The thief cometh not, but to steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have abundance. I Am all and you are My Temple. In all places, time and situation; put Me and the Holy Spirit first. NENT Mat 6:33 But seek ye first his kingdom, and righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you. This is to alert you not to be concerned about anything. Just pray and praise Me.” “The power you use in speech and talk is Me. Use it wisely. I am not to be flipped around like a pancake for your own gain. What do you do for Me?” (Be mindful of the thoughts and words spoken, and be according to the Word.) NENT Heb 4:12 For living is the word of God, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart. “Can you await My Instructions and Provision?” (Be patient in your faith) NENT Luk 21:19 In your patience ye shall win your souls. Jas 1:3 knowing that the proving of your faith worketh patience. 4 And let patience have its perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing. Heb 6:11-12 And we desire that each of you show the same diligence unto the fulness of the hope even to the end: 12 that ye be not sluggish, but imitators of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. “The Lord is coming and all His blessings already sent. Like a train to arrive at the station. Stay standing in expectation with your ticket ready. The earnest are to be rewarded. Knowing I will deliver on time. Are you worthy to receive? Be constantly checking the validation of the ticket each and every day, die to self and replace all with My Word as Christ.” (Doing all you are required to receive and looking to the answers and provision in expectation.) NENT Rom 8:9 But YE are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if so be that God's Spirit dwelleth in you. But if any hath not Christ's Spirit he is none of his. Php 1:20 according to my earnest expectation and hope, that in nothing shall I be shamed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death. Rom 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creation awaiteth the revelation of the sons of God. “Do you keep the desire of Me in your heart? Have every ache and pain in the need of Me.” (Priorities and humility) NENT 1Co 14:1 Follow after love; yet desire earnestly the spirituals, but rather that ye prophesy. 1Ti 2:4 who willeth all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of truth. “Never forget you are deeply loved in any situation or trial. Just keep to the foundation and character of My Son. You all will need to sincerely hate all evil or it will be brutal to remove from you.” (Separate from all things opposing the Lord, no matter the attachment or level of pain.) NENT Jas 4:7 Be subject therefore to God; but resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw Deeper Into God Samuel Fire 4/13/23 I was seeking the Lord regarding why it hurts when we seek Him more than we have before and why do we feel a type of fear when going deeper and deeper into God's presence. I heard: “Because nothing can completely handle My presence. They all have to be recreated as My Son or that aspect must fall before Me. I am making a wonderful work in you all, and these are great times for you. To share and hold onto each other, and to rely completely on Me and My Promise. Keep your focus and love. Do not let go of your deepest desire. There is some hurt and old self that cannot be in My Holiness and Kingdom. (I felt something like the deeper we go, the harder it is to get closer. Then I saw a person trying to swim underwater but had to breathe out because of the air held in them would cause them to float up. But in order to stay submerged and go to the deepest depths with God, one would need to be completely dead to self and only have Jesus in control and Lord of their life.) Be the loving example of My Word. Press into the perfect place of Me. Keep on focusing on Me. Read and pray. Be helpful to each other in assistance. Help each other on the words spoken and agreement. No one is doing worse off than the price paid by My Son. Do not compare. Do not rejoice on the enemy's defeat, but be concerned over the walk you and others are doing. Draw deeper into Me and want to do with Me all the great things I have set for you. Learn to have no ability to do anything by self. That everything is already done in Christ. I have said and it is now just a time to be deeper in the revelation of My Love for you. (I felt that we just need to let go. Stop. And believe. So hard to do, but just think and speak it. Especially in the trials.) Do not worry. Everything is done. You have not have to worry about it at all. (I felt that we need to praise God, to speak out what is His love to us and to receive it as though we already have it.) The enemy is always attacking and lying to you every moment. The world is always trying to distract you and trying to get in the way of you and Me. The enemy and flesh try to use your hurt and old memories to separate us. But you need to give all these to Me, and when you read and apply My Word in Truth and Love, I Am accepted and connected to you. When it is difficult, give to Me attention and prayer. Praise Me for I am the final answer and solution.” Buy Wisdom Vanessa Weeks 1/15/23 (David's notes in red) In a dream I was in a small store or house that had many knickknacks. These were on tables and organized together in different parts of the room. There was also a large and sturdy old book that had many drawings depicting the stories told in the book. It was a special book with gold on the four corners of the cover. (Word of God?) I was looking at this book and then I saw a couple of children sitting on the floor looking at it. I saw a white crocheted owl. (An owl to me means wisdom.) Pro 3:13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, And the man that getteth understanding. 14 For the gaining of it is better than the gaining of silver, And the profit thereof than fine gold. 15 She is more precious than rubies: And none of the things thou canst desire are to be compared unto her. 16 Length of days is in her right hand; In her left hand are riches and honor. 17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace. 18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: And happy is every one that retaineth her. I took the owl with my right hand and put it in a blue picture frame. (Picture of wisdom Pro 23:23 Buy truth, and do not sell it, Get wisdom and instruction and understanding.) (Barry: I think this would involve praying for it in faith, searching God's word for it, but also humility and a willingness to live by it.) I gave this owl in the blue picture frame to a young lady who was to my right, (where Jesus put the sheep) who was wearing a red shirt. (She is washed in the blood of Christ. After I woke up I thought that this lady was Gabby.) I gave it to her for her birthday. (Gabby means God is my strength.) Then after I got home, I began to feel guilty because I realized that I had taken the owl without asking or paying for it. I was repenting and asking the Lord to forgive me. But I did not know how to make it right because I gave the owl to Gabby and did not think I could take it back to return it to the owner. Then I woke up. After I woke up, I realized this owl is the same as Zoe's crocheted owl in real life. Owls to me represent wisdom so I believe it represents wisdom of the life of God. I received by faith at random for this dream Dan 5:16. In context v. 13-16. Dan 5:13-16 Then was Daniel brought in before the king. The king spake and said unto Daniel, Art thou that Daniel, who art of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Judah? 14 I have heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in thee. 15 And now the wise men, the enchanters, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof; but they could not show the interpretation of the thing. 16 But I have heard of thee, that thou canst give interpretations, and dissolve doubts; now if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with purple, and have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom. Also, I asked the Lord about the feeling of guilt I had in the dream and received by faith at random Pro 28:15. In context vs. 13-15. Pro 28:13 He that covereth his transgressions shall not prosper: But whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall obtain mercy. 14 Happy is the man that feareth alway; But he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief. 15 As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear, So is a wicked ruler over a poor people. I believe the Lord is saying to me by this verse and dream to pay the price for wisdom. And He has given me grace to confess and forsake my sin. Job 28:12-13 But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? 13 Man knoweth not the price thereof; Neither is it found in the land of the living. And verse 28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; And to depart from evil is understanding. Father, thank you for showing us the price of wisdom. Please give us grace to fear you and depart from evil and in faith receive your wisdom in Jesus name, amen. Taking From The Enemies Camp Tianna Fire 6/10/23 (David's notes in red) I dreamt that I was living with a community of Brethren, but we didn't live in a specific spot, but we traveled around all the time and everything we had was physically light and God provided all our needs. (Be not attached to worldly physical things but anchored in the Lord.) At this point the Lord had led us all to travel to a different town, and to get there we had to walk along a beach side for a few days. We slept under the stars and God provided food without us doing anything, but walking where He wanted. (Rest in Him, no matter the situation, He is our covering.) After a few days we got to this place that was on the left side of the beach in a forest. It was evening and the sun was almost completely down but the town had so many different colored lights and different loud sounds coming from it. (It kind of reminded me of "vanity fair" from Pilgrims Progress.) At this place there were some theme park rides and many different buildings with different activities. The sounds were so loud and there was festival music and much laughter and it was extremely worldly. (The Lord has called us out of the world to be separate from it and not get distracted by the lust of the fleshly things in the world.) Before we went in, we prayed and God told us that there would be many Satanists in there, but there were things in there that were stolen from us and we were to walk into the areas God said, to grab what belonged to us, and then we could all leave. We all had a different task and a different area to go inside. We all went in pairs, and I was with a sister. NENT Luk 10:1-3 Now after these things the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself was about to come. 2 And he said unto them, The harvest indeed is plenteous, but the laborers few: pray therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth laborers into his harvest. 3 Go. Lo, I send you forth as lambs amidst wolves. Luk 10:19 Lo, I have given you the authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you. As we walked inside the festival there were many people all around and there were many famous actors, witches, musicians and other known people in the world. There were also a lot of people I had never seen before in real life. The Lord had revealed to me that witches and others that illegally access the spiritual realm can see Jesus in me and they know who I am when in public, so we stick out like a sore thumb. Also the demons in others are aware of Jesus in us and I can see that they recognize Christ in me. So, in the dream I asked God to not allow any of the witches or demons to be able to see that Jesus is in us, so that we don't stick out, but for us to be hidden and not noticeable to the demons and witches. And praise God He did exactly that! He either made us invisible to everyone or He made us just look like normal people, but the enemy couldn't see us. (He can do the supernatural and keep us hidden in the natural. Mar 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Psa 32:7 Thou art my hiding-place; thou wilt preserve me from trouble; Thou wilt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.) So we were all able to easily go to the area to get what we needed without being noticed. Two brothers went into a maze area that was filled with all different types of mirrors, and what was theirs was in the center of the maze. (To see themselves as Jesus – beyond the natural, and the reward is at the end.) 2Co 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit. Another couple had to go to the music area. (Music when sung or listened to, can lift our spirits.) Another went to a party area where everyone was drinking and dancing and others had to go on a rollercoaster and the spinning swings ride. (This represents idolatry to the world where we are tempted by the world, the lust of the eyes and the lust of the flesh.) (Temptations come in the 5 senses [5 Kings Joshua ref?].) 1Co 10:6-7 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. (Many will be tempted to do this in these days. They will cease to be stewards and instead claim ownership of what is God's.) 1Jn 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the vainglory of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. The sister and I went into an escape room that was connected to a playground. (An escape room is where someone is locked into it, to play a game requiring them to solve a series of puzzles within a certain amount of time to accomplish a goal, typically finding a key to leave the room. They will have to race against the clock and decipher clues to find their way out of the room.) There was a line up to go through this with many people behind us and in front of us. Only one person could go into an escape room at a time and we had to wait in the playground area for our turn. Once the person was done with the first escape room they would go into another line up for the next escape room, and there were 10 escape rooms. (The number 10 symbolizes perfect and completeness. It is also symbolic of the 10 commandments (the Law) given to Moses.) It was made known that the majority of people that go in will not get through many rooms, so they quit and leave, but those that did get further into the escape rooms mostly died. (We must lose our life in the world to have the life of Christ. We continue in the faith and press on to the high calling of God in Christ, and each of us must manifest our own death to self. Not everyone is able to continue, many give up and go back to the world.) Mat 22:14 For many are called, but few chosen. Mat 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved. Mat 16:24-25 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whosoever would save his life shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose his life for my sake shall find it. When it was finally our turn, I went in first and the sister went in behind me. There were many people in front of me that couldn't get out of the escape room so they would get dragged out by whoever was running this place. By God's grace and His help, he got me through the first 5 escape rooms. (Five is the number of grace.) When I was in the fifth escape room, God told me that by witchcraft they had been putting a plastic bag into my mouth for each room I went into, without me knowing and their goal was to choke out everyone before they could get to the tenth room. (So they could not partake of the breath of the Spirit) The item we wanted was in the tenth room, but they didn't want anyone to get there, so they would kill off or take out everyone they could before they got there. (This could mean restricting the move of the Holy Spirit, stopping their ability to breathe or spiritual discernment. They use witchcraft to suffocate, or “choke” people. A spiritual death to take us out so we don't receive all the Lord has for us and reach completion, and in this dream, taking back what they came for.) Mar 4:19 and the cares of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. (Some of the women captured by the satanists will overcome and escape when the principality in the leaders die and their power over them is broken. Some may not be chosen and would not escape.) I went to a mirror that was in the room and I opened my mouth and there were 5 plastic bags in the colors of grey and blue. (A person begins to turn blue or grey when they are suffocating and there is not enough oxygen in the blood. Blue and grey represents death by suffocation.) I took them all out and everything was well. The Lord showed me how to get out of this escape room and then I went into the waiting hallway to get into the sixth escape room. There was no one else there, but I wanted to wait there so I could tell the sister behind me about the plastic bags. The walls in this area were lime green. (Lime green could represent “freshness or being refreshed in the Spirit” after being saved from a death assignment.) The sister came out and I told her about the plastic bags and she pulled them out of her mouth too and we continued on to the next escape rooms. After each room we would take the plastic bag out of our mouth and it was supernatural how it even got into our mouth. (We share with our brethren the revelations given us from the Lord so they can learn and also be free from the traps of the enemy and continue going forward in Christ.) I was able to get to the last escape room, and I know it was only through God's grace as He gave me the wisdom, understanding and knowledge to get through each escape room. (Any could contact us for this wisdom and knowledge. When they die out to the principality over their personal stupid demons they will lose power and their conscience and knowledge will return and they will escape.) When I got to the tenth escape room, I was able to get the item that belonged to us and leave unnoticed just as we prayed. The evil people had cameras set up everywhere so, naturally, they would have seen and known I was in there and had obtained the item. Normally demons see Who Jesus is in in the spiritual realm, but the other brethren and I were completely hidden physically and spiritually. (Pray for the escapees to be hidden in Christ.) The sister I was with was waiting outside as she had quit a few rooms ago because she had listened to fear, but she repented and got out. We then left to go back to the beach to meet with the other brethren. On the way out, a brother who had started with us was socializing with some people at the party and it was then made known to us that he had taken interest in the worldly pleasures and people. (The lure of lust in the satanist camp captures many.) This brother then became visible to them and to the enemy, so the enemy captured him. We just prayed and left and were later reunited with the brethren that stayed in agreement with the Word and hidden in Christ. We learned that there were a few others that got stuck in this town in the party with these evil people. We knew there wasn't anything we could do but pray for them. Because if we went back to speak to them, we would become visible to them and to the enemy, but we wanted to stay hidden in Christ. (Pray for our brethren who have been taken captive to the deceitfulness of this world. Keep in faith. Allow the Lord to do His amazing work of grace!) NENT Col 4:12 Epaphras who is one of you, bondman of Christ Jesus, greets you, always striving for you in his prayers, that ye may stand perfect and fully assured in all of God's will. Jas 5:15-16 and the prayer of faith shall save the weary one, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, it shall be forgiven him. 16 Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working. Heb 7:25 Whence also he is able to save to the uttermost them that approach God through him, he ever living to make intercession for them. All of us that got out of the place, were able to get all the items back that belonged to us and we continued walking along the beach to go to the next place God wanted us to go to. Believe And Confess The Word David Eells Many want sanctification or healing or deliverance or provision, etc. And the demons are constantly trying to talk you out of these things and more using as ammunition, your many problems, mistakes, failures, etc. But Jesus gave His gifts unto many imperfect people who were their own worst enemies. He even gave these things to people who were willfully disobedient to confirm His Word; however, they did not, in some way, escape the judgment for this kind of sin for that is the Word too. Joh 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing befall thee. We received this text by faith at random. Heb 6:11-19 And we desire that each one of you may show the same diligence unto the fulness of hope even to the end: 12 that ye be not sluggish, but imitators of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. 13 For when God made promise to Abraham (Who was in the flesh and trying to save himself.), since he could swear by none greater, he sware by himself, 14 saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. 15 And thus, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise. (This could be true of any and all promises to you.) 16 For men swear by the greater: and in every dispute of theirs the oath is final for confirmation. 17 Wherein God, being minded to show more abundantly unto the heirs of the promise the immutability (This word means unchangeableness) of his counsel, interposed with an oath; 18 that by two immutable (or unchangeable) things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, (The two unchangeable things He cannot lie about is any promise He made to you and on top of that His oath promise.) we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us: (He did this to show you He will not break His promises so you can be encouraged to believe them. The demons will try to give you many reasons to not believe they are for you.) 19 which we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and stedfast and entering into that which is within the veil. (This anchor of your souls is so you won't be thrown about by every lie of the demons. God will keep His Word to you.) Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and to-day, (yea) and for ever. (He is unchangeable concerning His promises. Religions all have a changeable God who cannot be trusted. I.e. He made an eternal covenant, but you can't be sure He will heal the sick or save from sin, demons, or lack anymore so you can't have faith. What else would the devil have you believe? Come out from among them!) Psa 119:86-93 All thy commandments are faithful: They persecute me wrongfully; help thou me. 87 They had almost consumed me upon earth (God's people are being devoured by the curse and the demons love it but here is the cure.); But I forsook not thy precepts. 88 Quicken (This word means “make alive”) me after thy lovingkindness; So shall I observe the testimony of thy mouth. 89 LAMEDH. For ever, O Jehovah, Thy word is settled in heaven. (Father says its unchangeable so you can believe it today.) 90 Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: (I.e. we have the same promises that were given back then.) Thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. 91 They abide this day according to thine ordinances; For all things are thy servants. (Notice: Everything serves God so nothing can stop Him from answering your faith and prayers.)92 Unless thy law had been my delight, I should then have perished in mine affliction. (Pro 10:21 The lips of the righteous feed many; But the foolish die for lack of understanding. Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also will forget thy children.) 93 I will never forget thy precepts; For with them thou hast quickened me (I.e. made me alive). … 128 Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; And I hate every false way. (So “By whose stripes ye were healed” and “He made you free from sin” and He “delivered you out of the power of darkness” and He “gave you authority over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall in any wise hurt you.”) Joh 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my sayings, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I spake, the same shall judge him in the last day. …50 And I know that his commandment is life eternal: the things therefore which I speak, even as the Father hath said unto me, so I speak. 1Ki 8:56 Blessed be Jehovah, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by Moses his servant. And we “have a better covenant based on better promises”. Psa 89:34 My covenant will I not break, Nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. (Since we are dependent on the promises for the abundant life, those who change them are under the curse even as they bring others under the curse. Rev 22:18 I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto them, God shall add unto him the plagues which are written in this book: 19 and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, which are written in this book.) Psa 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, And give thanks unto thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: For thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. (God's promises and commands are more important to us than even His name.) Rom 3:3 For what if some were without faith? (Man may break the covenant but God doesn't.) shall their want of faith make of none effect the faithfulness of God? (God will be faithful to all who repent and believe and sometimes they don't even know they need to repent of something.) 4 God forbid: yea, let God be found true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy words, And mightest prevail when thou comest into judgment. (We must agree with the Word so we may be accounted as righteous so we can have God's benefits and overcome when in tribulation.) Promises are Conditional Mat 10:32 Every one therefore who shall confess (Homo Logeo means to “speak the same as” meaning agree with the Word. Are you healed? Say it! Are you saved from sin? Say it! Are you free of demons? Say it! Are you provided for? Say it! Many will come to try to get you to agree with what you see with your eyes rather than what you see in the book.) who shall confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in heaven. 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven. (If we walk and talk by sight to please men we will miss His benefits.) Luk 12:8 And I say unto you, Everyone who shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: 9 but he that denieth me in the presence of men shall be denied in the presence of the angels of God. (Angels will take their que from your words and actions of faith and it is they who minister God's salvation to you.) Heb 4:14 Having then a great high priest, who hath passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. Heb 10:23 let us hold fast the confession of our hope that it waver not; for he is faithful that promised: 2Co 1:18-20 But as God is faithful, our word toward you is not yea and nay. (God is not fickle as the religions say; He stands behind His Word.) 19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timothy, was not yea and nay, but in him is yea. (He is not yes and no about His promises; He is YES!) 20 For how many soever be the promises of God, in him is the yea: wherefore also through him is the Amen (meaning when we agree), unto the glory of God through us. Mat 8:1-10 And when he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. 2 And behold, there came to him a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 3 And he stretched forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou made clean. (Jesus is willing to heal and deliver.) And straightway his leprosy was cleansed. 4 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go, show thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. 5 And when he was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, 6 and saying, Lord, my servant lieth in the house sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. 7 And he saith unto him, I will come and heal him. 8 And the centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof; (God gives grace to the humble but He resists the proud.) but only say the word, and my servant shall be healed. 9 For I also am a man under authority, having under myself soldiers: and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. (He knew more than God's people, that Jesus' Word was supreme authority over the curse.) 10 And when Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. Mar 5:22-42 And there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and seeing him, he falleth at his feet, 23 and beseecheth him much, saying, My little daughter is at the point of death: I pray thee, that thou come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be made whole, and live. (He had faith in Jesus to make her live.) 24 And he went with him; and a great multitude followed him, and they thronged him. 25 And a woman, who had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 having heard the things concerning Jesus, came in the crowd behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I touch but his garments, I shall be made whole. (She spoke to the mountain and did not doubt so she got what she said as Mark said. Mar 11:23-24 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he saith cometh to pass; he shall have it. 24 Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.) Back to our text: Mar 5:29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her plague. 30 And straightway Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power proceeding from him had gone forth, turned him about in the crowd, and said, Who touched my garments? (Notice it was not a matter of whether God willed this healing or not for Jesus didn't even know it until it happened. It was a matter of faith and confession as we are told.) 31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. 35 While he yet spake, they come from the ruler of the synagogue's house saying, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Teacher any further? 36 But Jesus, not heeding the word spoken, saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Fear not, only believe. (I.e. Do not pay attention to what man or devil says. It's never too late Jesus still resurrects the dead. I am a witness.) 37 And he suffered no man to follow with him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. 38 And they come to the house of the ruler of the synagogue; and he beholdeth a tumult, and many weeping and wailing greatly. 39 And when he was entered in, he saith unto them, Why make ye a tumult, and weep? the child is not dead, but sleepeth. (A spoken Word of faith.) 40 And they laughed him to scorn. But he, having put them all forth, taketh the father of the child and her mother and them that were with him, and goeth in where the child was. 41 And taking the child by the hand, he saith unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, Arise. (Another spoken Word of faith.) 42 And straightway the damsel rose up, and walked; for she was twelve years old. And they were amazed straightway with a great amazement. Mat 15:22-31 And behold, a Canaanitish woman came out from those borders, and cried, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a demon. 23 But he answered her not a word. (Testing her faith with silence.) And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. (They mistook His silence as an unwillingness to deliver.) 24 But he answered and said, I was not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. (Another test that she was not qualified. Many hear this. Faith is the qualification. Some have more than God's people.) 25 But she came and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26 And he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread and cast it to the dogs. (Again the test of You are not qualified but like Naaman the Syrian all that is needed is actions of faith to be a believer.) 27 But she said, Yea, Lord: for even the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. (Humility brings grace, pride brings disgrace.) 28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it done unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was healed from that hour. 29 And Jesus departed thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and he went up into the mountain, and sat there. 30 And there came unto him great multitudes, having with them the lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and they cast them down at his feet; and he healed them: 31 insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb speaking, the maimed whole, and the lame walking, and the blind seeing: and they glorified the God of Israel. (In any “great multitude” even of God's people, there are sinners of every kind but this was not the problem. It was their faith to bring the sick to Jesus because they heard and saw that He healed and delivered. More blessed are they who do not see and yet believe. And they glorified God to everyone and themselves. They were never the same.) Mat 4:24 And the report of him went forth into all Syria: and they brought unto him all that were sick, holden with divers diseases and torments, possessed with demons, and epileptic, and palsied; and he healed them. Mat 12:15 And Jesus perceiving it withdrew from thence: and many followed him; and he healed them all. Luk 6:17-19 and he came down with them, and stood on a level place, and a great multitude of his disciples, and a great number of the people from all Judaea and Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases; 18 and they that were troubled with unclean spirits were healed. 19 And all the multitude sought to touch him; for power came forth from him, and healed them all. (We shall see this again for Jesus is coming as the Latter Rain in Hos 6:1-3.) Luk 4:40 And when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them. God can change a prophecy, word of knowledge or wisdom, dream or vision, which can all be warnings, which are changed if we repent. They can be promises which we must believe to receive. Many do not believe to the end to receive and so their promise was not fulfilled. These things are changeable, but the Word is not. Jer 23:28-29 The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my (prophetic) word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat? saith Jehovah. 29 Is not my Word like fire? saith Jehovah; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? The straw supports the wheat but its value is nothing like the wheat. A dream or prophecy can be changeable but not the Word. Isa 53:1-12 Who hath believed our message? and to whom hath the arm of Jehovah been revealed? 2 For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He was despised, and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief (Hebrew: sickness): and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised; and we esteemed him not. Who was He despised by, the factious. Who was Job or David despised by, the factious. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs (Hebrew: sicknesses), and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and Jehovah hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth. 8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who among them considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of my people to whom the stroke was due? (Who was due the stroke, the judas' the factious, the back stabbers, the lusters, etc.) 9 And they made his grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in his death; although he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath put him to grief (Hebrew: Made Him sick): when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand. (Notice: He prolonged His Days in His seed doing His same works.) 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by the knowledge of himself shall my righteous servant justify many; and he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors: yet he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Zechariah 1 NLT read aloud by Simon MacFarlane. 1 In November of the second year of King Darius's reign, the Lord gave this message to the prophet Zechariah son of Berekiah and grandson of Iddo: 2 “I, the Lord, was very angry with your ancestors. 3 Therefore, say to the people, ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven's Armies says: Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of Heaven's Armies.' 4 Don't be like your ancestors who would not listen or pay attention when the earlier prophets said to them, ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven's Armies says: Turn from your evil ways, and stop all your evil practices.' 5 “Where are your ancestors now? They and the prophets are long dead. 6 But everything I said through my servants the prophets happened to your ancestors, just as I said. As a result, they repented and said, ‘We have received what we deserved from the Lord of Heaven's Armies. He has done what he said he would do.'” 7 Three months later, on February 15, the Lord sent another message to the prophet Zechariah son of Berekiah and grandson of Iddo. 8 In a vision during the night, I saw a man sitting on a red horse that was standing among some myrtle trees in a small valley. Behind him were riders on red, brown, and white horses. 9 I asked the angel who was talking with me, “My lord, what do these horses mean?” “I will show you,” the angel replied. 10 The rider standing among the myrtle trees then explained, “They are the ones the Lord has sent out to patrol the earth.” 11 Then the other riders reported to the angel of the Lord, who was standing among the myrtle trees, “We have been patrolling the earth, and the whole earth is at peace.” 12 Upon hearing this, the angel of the Lord prayed this prayer: “O Lord of Heaven's Armies, for seventy years now you have been angry with Jerusalem and the towns of Judah. How long until you again show mercy to them?” 13 And the Lord spoke kind and comforting words to the angel who talked with me. 14 Then the angel said to me, “Shout this message for all to hear: ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven's Armies says: My love for Jerusalem and Mount Zion is passionate and strong. 15 But I am very angry with the other nations that are now enjoying peace and security. I was only a little angry with my people, but the nations inflicted harm on them far beyond my intentions. 16 “‘Therefore, this is what the Lord says: I have returned to show mercy to Jerusalem. My Temple will be rebuilt, says the Lord of Heaven's Armies, and measurements will be taken for the reconstruction of Jerusalem.' 17 “Say this also: ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven's Armies says: The towns of Israel will again overflow with prosperity, and the Lord will again comfort Zion and choose Jerusalem as his own.'” 18 Then I looked up and saw four animal horns. 19 “What are these?” I asked the angel who was talking with me. He replied, “These horns represent the nations that scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.” 20 Then the Lord showed me four blacksmiths. 21 “What are these men coming to do?” I asked. The angel replied, “These four horns—these nations—scattered and humbled Judah. Now these blacksmiths have come to terrify those nations and throw them down and destroy them.”
It is a general rule of thumb that the practice of usury, or the action of lending money at unreasonably high rates of interest, is immoral, unethical, and illegal, particularly in Islam (riba) but also in Christianity. In Judaism, however, usury is generally condemned towards Jews, but allowed against non-Jews (Deuteronomy 23:19-20). One of the most famous Biblical accounts against usury came during Passion week when, on Monday, Jesus reaches the Temple and finds the courts full of corrupt money changes. He then famously overturns the tables, saying: “My Temple will be a house of prayer, but you have turned it into a den of thieves” (Luke 19:46). The Bible does not institute a total ban on interest, but condemns taking it from the poor and from Jews - Exodus 22:25, Leviticus 25:35, and Deuteronomy 20:19. In Islam, there is considered an even stricter definition of usury, being not only unreasonably high rates of interest but essentially of any interest collected on loans or deposits, though often it is considered that just exploitative gain is to forbidden. This is called Riba, or ‘to increase'. It is prohibited under Sharia law to ensure equity in exchange. Religious practice in Islam usually forbids riba, even at low rates. It cannot be coincidental that throughout American history alone, messing with money has caused war and assassinations. The American Revolution itself was largely sparked due to the outlawing of interest-free currency. Presidents from Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, and James Garfield to William McKinley and John Kennedy spoke out strongly against bankers, or took direct action, which resulted in assassins appearing on the scene to silence them. It also cannot be a coincidence with all of the apparent sabotage against global industry, supply chains, energy, etc., largely due to fear of disease, that bank failures are being referred to as a “contagion” by the New York Times. Or that the Washington Post is priming people to believe that most Americans have “moved from smaller and regional banks to large banks” since Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank failed.
HOUSE OF PRAYER FOR ALL NATIONS He set up shop for the day. Business was booming and he had no reason to complain. Thanks to the new prophet in town. Such a popular guy and very well-liked, at least by the regular people. What did the merchant care, as long as he could sell his wares? He did not have to go into the temple. Just stayed outside and sold his goods. He had grown over the years, from selling doves and pigeons to changing money, then lending money to desperate folk. His sons operated the other shops whilst he sat over the money bank. From all indications, the day was different; the crowd of worshippers were more than usual. Rumour had it that the new prophet was coming by. But nothing prepared him for the events that ensued, nothing! The prophet came, whip in hand, and chased every trader out. He drove and scolded them, so angrily it was unbelievable. He overturned all the tables. What was that? Bewilderment everywhere! His accusations were serious: He labelled them thieves and robbers. He accused them of desecrating his Father's house. He even stated that the house should be used to pray for all nations. Who was that man? What nerve! Did he not know business had gone on at the temple for ages? How dare he? Next thing all the sick folk and smelly fellas now had access to the temple. The greater surprise, they came out clean, whole! Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out all the people buying and selling animals for sacrifice. He knocked over the tables of the moneychangers and the chairs of those selling doves. He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,' but you have turned it into a den of thieves!” The blind and the lame came to him in the Temple, and he healed them. The leading priests and the teachers of religious law saw these wonderful miracles and heard even the children in the Temple shouting, “Praise God for the Son of David.” But the leaders were indignant. (Matthew 21:12-15 NLT) Jesus went into the temple and chased out everyone who was selling or buying. He turned over the tables of the moneychangers and the benches of the ones who were selling doves. He told them, “The Scriptures say, ‘My house should be called a place of worship.' But you have turned it into a place where robbers hide.” Blind and lame people came to Jesus in the temple, and he healed them. But the chief priests and the teachers of the Law of Moses were angry when they saw his miracles and heard the children shouting praises to the Son of David. (Matthew 21:12-15 CEV) My friend, what brings you to Church: business, worship, social networking, fraternising? What? Picture a crusade ground; before you get into the place of worship, you would walk by different merchants selling all kinds of wares. Many never make it into the temple; all they do is, hover around the anointing. Let us wax spiritual a bit. We ought to remember that we are God's temples. Dare I ask, what goes on in our temples? Are we buying and selling or busy doing every other thing but the very thing for which the temple was built? What does Church spell to you: a place of business or a place of worship. What do you do in Church: trade, scam, prospect, serve, worship, or intercede? Jesus said, 'my house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations' What are we to do in Church? Pray, intercede, bring the nations before God, heal the sick, exalt the Lord and not use His name to trade or do business. God promised, if we sought His Kingdom, all other things would be added unto us. Besides, all those things that men run after are what the Gentiles do. How can we who have the promise of God's kingdom carry on as the Gentiles do? That will be debasement, and we should resist it. Ours is a higher call, a higher life. Beloved, if Jesus stopped at your house today, what would He do? Will he overturn tables, chase, rebuke, or would He endorse your activities? --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/arnajadi/message
Acts 1:4And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father… The Promise of The FatherIsaiah 9:6-7For unto you a child is born, unto you a son is given… Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.. The prophets not only prophesied about a promised child but also about the promised indwelling and outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Ezekiel 36:26-27And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.God will put His Spirit IN YOU was a radical, radical thought. John 20:19-22Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! “Peace be with you,” he said. As he spoke, he showed them the wounds in his hands and his side. They were filled with joy when they saw the Lord! Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”1 Peter 3:18For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, Jesus died in His body but was raised from the dead- he was made alive by the Holy Spirit. The resurrection was the work of the Triune God. And if we are going to experience resurrection life, we need The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! Romans 8:11If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.Joel 2:28-29And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh;your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit.Ezekiel said God is going to put his Spirit in people. Joel said God is going to pour out his Spirit on people. Lee CummingsIt was as if God was saying, "I'm going to pour it out in such a way that nobody is going to escape dry. I'm not just going to pour it out on David. I'm not just going to pour it out in My Temple. I'm going to pour it out on the whole earth. It's going to be young men and old men. It's going to be men and women. It's going to be rich and poor. Everyone is included. There will be no gender differences. No economic distinctions. No age limits. All flesh. I'm going to pour out My Spirit on all flesh.”John 1:26-27, 33-34John told them, “I baptize with water, but right here in the crowd is someone you do not recognize. Though his ministry follows mine, I'm not even worthy to be his slave and untie the straps of his sandal.” I didn't know he was the one, but when God sent me to baptize with water, he told me, ‘The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' I saw this happen to Jesus, so I testify that he is the Chosen One of God.”Baptism - To submerge, to overwhelm, to saturate, to take something under the water. Acts 1:4-5And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”Luke 24:49And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.Acts 2:2-4, 12-17When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested[a] on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.” But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel: “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh…THIS IS THATLee CummingsThe believers were supernaturally endued with unearthly power, spiritual dynamite, and divine anointing. Similar to Samson's incredible strength, David's power as king, Moses' ability to perform miracles, and the many other people in the Old Testament upon whom the Holy Spirit came, these New Testament believers received a special anointing that super charged them.Andrew ArndtPentecost was not an isolated incident destined to recede into the oblivion of history… but rather was THE INITIAL COMBUSTION that set off a chain reaction that will one day engulf the cosmos in the flame of the Spirit. Make no mistake: We are living in an ever-intensifying Pentecost. The Lord Jesus said that when God gives the Spirit he gives “without limit” meaning that what began in Acts 2 will grow in potency until the consummation of the ages.God didn't just pour his Spirit out on day 10- He is still being poured out. No matter your gender, age, race, or economic status, YOU NEED TO BE CLOTHED WITH POWER FROM ON HIGH. Your destiny is to be transformed into the image of Jesus. What would it look like for you to open your life more to the Promise of the Father?

This story is from the Evergetinos (Sayings of the Desert Fathers) as related by St. Amphilochios of Icononium. Take courage all who struggle with this most grievous sin, the sin of self-abuse (masturbation). “Resist to the point of shedding your blood” (Hebrews 12:4) and remember the immeasurable love God has for you. Seek a spiritual guide if you do not already have one. The fight is spiritual and we need a guide to learn from and be obedient to. Every moment you offer your will to God and obey His commandments you receive both temporal and eternal rewards. The Lord says to satan regarding the man who again repented of his self-abuse, “You, when he turns again to sin, do not turn him away, but receive him with joy, neither chastising him nor preventing him from committing sin, out of the hope that you might win him over. Yet, I, Who am merciful and love mankind, Who counseled My laudable Apostle Peter, to forgive sins seven times seventy (Matt. 18:22), do I not show him mercy and compassion? Indeed – simply because he flees to Me – I will not turn him away until I have won him over. Furthermore, I was crucified for sinners and for their salvation; My immaculate hands were nailed to the Cross, that those who so wish might take refuge in Me and be saved. For this reason, then, I neither turn away nor reject anyone, even if he should fall many times a day and many times return to Me; such a person will not leave My Temple saddened, for I came not to call the righteous, but to call sinners to repent.” Text: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElzfY...A different translation: https://iconandlight.wordpress.com/20... Matthew 21.12-13 NLT Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out all the people buying and selling animals for sacrifice. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves. He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,' but you have turned it into a den of thieves!” The joyful celebration of Palm Sunday is followed by something completely different. Jesus walked into Jerusalem and was angered by the sight of the temple precinct crowded with traders. This was nothing new. In order for worshippers to make their sacrifices, there was a rule that they had to purchase their birds or animals in the coinage of Tyre. They therefore needed the money changers to convert their Roman and Greek coins into that currency. This elaborate system was carefully developed over many years but Jesus' concern was that it totally obscured the real purpose of the temple. Instead of it being a house of prayer it had been turned into a noisy shopping mall within which unscrupulous traders and thieves could thrive. It is possible for any organisation to lose its sense of purpose. It normally happens over an extended period and takes place so gradually that very few people see it happening. Churches have been established to worship God, but it is very easy for them to lose that focus and to become no more than a social club or a music society. Jesus' strong words and dramatic actions need to make us sit up and reflect on our own churches. Are they still focused in the right way? Is worship still the central purpose of the church or have we exchanged it for something that we find more comfortable or congenial? Jesus' powerful response to the traders in the temple makes it clear that this is not a minor issue, but goes to the heart of what we are called to be as the people of God. Jesus' challenge is also one that we need to take personally. We need to look at our own lives and ask the searching question, “Is prayer truly at the centre of our lives, or have we allowed other things to crowd it out?” Question: What challenge do Jesus' words and actions pose to your own church? Prayer: Lord God, help me to keep prayer at the centre of my life. Amen
Mark 11 NLT read aloud by Simon MacFarlane. 1 As Jesus and his disciples approached Jerusalem, they came to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of them on ahead. 2 “Go into that village over there,” he told them. “As soon as you enter it, you will see a young donkey tied there that no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 3 If anyone asks, ‘What are you doing?' just say, ‘The Lord needs it and will return it soon.'” 4 The two disciples left and found the colt standing in the street, tied outside the front door. 5 As they were untying it, some bystanders demanded, “What are you doing, untying that colt?” 6 They said what Jesus had told them to say, and they were permitted to take it. 7 Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their garments over it, and he sat on it. 8 Many in the crowd spread their garments on the road ahead of him, and others spread leafy branches they had cut in the fields. 9 Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around him were shouting, “Praise God! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the LORD ! 10 Blessings on the coming Kingdom of our ancestor David! Praise God in highest heaven!” 11 So Jesus came to Jerusalem and went into the Temple. After looking around carefully at everything, he left because it was late in the afternoon. Then he returned to Bethany with the twelve disciples. 12 The next morning as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. 13 He noticed a fig tree in full leaf a little way off, so he went over to see if he could find any figs. But there were only leaves because it was too early in the season for fruit. 14 Then Jesus said to the tree, “May no one ever eat your fruit again!” And the disciples heard him say it. 15 When they arrived back in Jerusalem, Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people buying and selling animals for sacrifices. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves, 16 and he stopped everyone from using the Temple as a marketplace. 17 He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations,' but you have turned it into a den of thieves.” 18 When the leading priests and teachers of religious law heard what Jesus had done, they began planning how to kill him. But they were afraid of him because the people were so amazed at his teaching. 19 That evening Jesus and the disciples left the city. 20 The next morning as they passed by the fig tree he had cursed, the disciples noticed it had withered from the roots up. 21 Peter remembered what Jesus had said to the tree on the previous day and exclaimed, “Look, Rabbi! The fig tree you cursed has withered and died!” 22 Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God. 23 I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. 24 I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you've received it, it will be yours. 25 But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too. ” [...]
Revelation 2-6 We are in the Church Stream reading from the New King James Version. 7streamsmethod.com | @7streamsmethod | Donate Commentary by Dr. Drake Travis God, don't let us risk walking away from our faith as is the manner of some. Increase our faith as we exercise it in your powerful Name. Lord we want to walk with and hear you now v.s. waiting until trouble is so thick that hearing you is a horrible challenge. Thank you Jesus for calling us while you may be found. Amen. In ch's 2,3, John relays a seven-fold message to the seven churches of Asia. This is John speaking from the heart he had for God who gave him these straight-on messages to seven churches. Each message has: 1] opening instruction for John to relay. 2] an aspect or title that Christ has that pertained to each churches' condition. 3] Christ says encouraging words and commendation to, well, five of the churches. 4] then there is keen criticism for five of the seven churches (the lists are not identical) 5] each church receives their due instruction; which was correction for those who needed it. 6] an identical admonition goes out to each church; "...let him hear..." 7] Lastly, each church receives a promise from Christ. These were all current conditions that John is addressing. As we read ch's 2 and 3 did anything apply to you/us today? 2 - To Ephesus: [a prestigious church who received Paul's finest teaching] they were diligent and thorough but they had become unloving. Yet they stood firm against false teaching and were promised eternal life. To Smyrna, a persecuted church, they are comforted and receive no condemnation. They seemed purified through their sufferings and would be preserved. Christ promised they would not die (the second death). Pergamos/Pergamum was a staunch and resolved church but they were compromised. They had gone lax on a couple of doctrines and thought that certain sexual sins were tolerable. Some in the congregation needed rebuking and well... but in Pergamum, they let this slide. John orders that they repent and be quick about it. Thyatira is a bit more of an extreme situation. They were syncretizing "Diana" -the breasted goddess into their church life. Christianity was growing fast and some of the Diana people, in a sly move, were hoping to merge it with Christianity. Of course they would bring their sex-goddess trappings with them. It was a Jezebel-like move (they didn't realize what all danger they were dabbling in!) and God wouldn't have it in His House. The need for 'house-cleaning' was urgent in Thyatira. 3 - Sardis was a church in a wealthy financial center. The legendary rich man "Croesus" [KREE-sus] was from here. The Sardis church was active with busyness and therefore appeared to be alive but was as dead as a departed spirit. Do you know people who go to church and are there just because they've always gone and have long since forgotten why they went? This was Sardis - mostly oblivious to the Holy Spirit. Though some had remained vibrant in faith. Philadelphia was a blessed church. They had brotherly love. God had no rebuke for them and he would never shut them out. Others may have looked down on them, but they would one day revere the Philadelphians. These people; this congregation would be a pillar [a vital part] in the Temple of God. The Laodicean Church was so well off, they were comfortable on their own. They didn't fervently cling to Christ. Y'might call them casual hammock dwellers who were rather nonchalant about their faith. God was about to boot them out of their spiritual stupor. As Christ knocked on their door Laodicea wondered, "is someone at the door? Did you hear a knock? say wha-?" Their ambivalence revealed much greater problems than they were willing to admit. Note that the church has been mentioned 16 times in chapters 1-3. They are never mentioned again in the remainder of Revelation. The deduction that most adhere to is that they have been raptured away from the cataclysmic events that are happening in Revelation 6-18. So 4 & 5 are what happens in heaven after the Church is raptured while 6-18 are what happens on earth during this same era. 4 - Here starts the abrupt shift from spiritual diagnoses [that are germane to churches even today] to a vision of God's Throne. Most evangelical scholars believe that this interlude; this jolting vision is God pausing to assure that God is on the Throne and has matters under control. It is indescribable, beautiful and regal/majestic in its authority. It is where God sits. The gems that are mentioned metaphorically are something to behold! Doing a search on these gem names is a blessing. The rainbow, the golden crowns, the elders in worship. Someone has said that the elders, who have access all the way to the top of the universe, know enough to bow in worship before God - should we be doing anything different? The beings around the throne possess strength, intelligence, mobility, and they see [double-spherically] in all directions. They are enraptured in worship of God on His throne. I trust we get the hint? 5 - The Scroll is finally to be opened. The drama of the chapter is that no one in all creation is worthy to open it save the Creator; of Him by Him and for Him all things were created. The pageantry of this chapter cannot be overstated. Did you catch who we are in this chapter? how much we are valued? Did you see what our prayers mean in heaven? Do you feel the choir of millions upon millions rejoicing? My husband and I heard a choir of 150 for Christmas recently and it was an ecstatic chorus that blasted us against our velvet balcony seats with astonishing blessing. Imagine a choir of angels whose numbers covered 2,000+ square miles with angelic body mass?! How does that vibration sound? You can hear it from another galaxy! It can hardly be imagined. All this as Christ is about to open the future and the secrets which reveal redemption's final stage. Oh my! 6 - The first seal is opened as a white horse rides over the earth. This inaugurates -or forewarns at least, that the tribulation will begin soon - though all out war has not broken out yet. There are six seals total in chapter six. They release war on a grand scale, famine (a day's wage buys a loaf of bread), death reigns as a 1/4 of earth's population is killed, the Cry of the Martyrs arises from the earth, and the greatest earthquake ever occurs as there are meteor showers and terrible calamity worldwide. The rulers of the whole earth know that this is the hand of God. The Thread Through the Streams "I'm trying to love you guys. For heaven's sake, are you going to let me love you?" That's what we heard from God in the narrative each day this week. Some of it's difficult to sort out but if these guidelines aren't followed, this nation will become crazed and then you won't even be able to hear, see, feel, nor understand my love at all. All these things are set up so you can know my love. -Deut. 21-25 there were difficult things that needed to be dealt with. You will not be a spiteful people, a raping people - not in any other way will my land be a sexual madhouse. Rebels need to be disposed of - they lead to murder and witchcraft. Be decent with and toward each others' property. My Temple will be sane. The camps will be clean. No kidnapping. No injustice. Don't leave women stranded. No letting enemies linger in My Nation. -Neh. 5-8 the abuse of the nationwide volunteers by the financially sharks in the land was dealt with swiftly by Nehemiah. The scam was decoded and then the wall was finished. There was a national tally. The Law was read and a system set up so that all could be blessed with an understanding of God's Principles. None of this in Deuteronomy; Moses and Joshuas' day, or Nehemiah; Ezra/Neh's day was simple. But followed through on they could better understand and learn to live and grow and revel in God's love. -Eccl. 1-6 is God's truth coming forth. God told Solomon and loved Solomon but nothing was ever enough for him. He wanted more. God loving Solomon, who wanted no limits on anything, is similar to a parent trying to monitor a child eating cotton candy. They think they aren't loved because we won't let them eat a beehive size wad of it 3X a day. Then when they sneak and eat a big bucket of it, they get a gutache and toothache and declare they wouldn't be in such pain if you loved them ... y'wonder at what point God rolls his eyes and goes out for a walk? God is trying to love us and too many of us keep searching for all and more like Solomon who felt nearly empty by the end. -Eze. 39-40 Is God preserving Israel through what is going to be the scariest time in their history. But these enemies need to be drawn out so they can be isolated and decimated. God wants to love Israel more but this is a cleaner process with her enemies gone. Then God is able to build a wonderful structure for worship that will overwhelm them. Apologies for the trauma anyone felt in the process. God is just trying to love you. -Zech. 11-12 God is laying down the gauntlet for the illicit shepherds. So many are going to suffer from the horrid leadership; these derelict shepherds. They need to be gotten rid of. God would like it to be a clean process but ungodliness and greed lead to big messes. Don't get mad at God for the disobedience that led to the current state of bad affairs. God will deliver Judah; in ways deliver them from these selfish leaders. You may not understand the process but God is going to love you - - - if you will let Him. -John 16:5 - 17:26 Jesus tells the Disciples that He must go so the Holy Spirit can come. Their loss will transform into unspeakable joy. There are many things coming that will vex and perplex but God knows what He is doing. Let Him love you and guide. You ARE being prayed for ! Take heart. You are so loved. -Rev. 2-6 There is some encouragement and some housecleaning that needs to take place in 7 churches. It's vital to do this. Disgusting and repulsive if you won't do this. The sin's mentioned by the churches in 2-3 need to go. God wants to love them more and they need to mature. The horrors of history are being unleashed starting in ch. 6 and you want to be protected from this agony. Again, as in all other days this week, are you going to let God love you?
Isaiah 60 NLT read aloud by Simon MacFarlane. 1 “Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see. For the glory of the LORD rises to shine on you. 2 Darkness as black as night covers all the nations of the earth, but the glory of the LORD rises and appears over you. 3 All nations will come to your light; mighty kings will come to see your radiance. 4 “Look and see, for everyone is coming home! Your sons are coming from distant lands; your little daughters will be carried home. 5 Your eyes will shine, and your heart will thrill with joy, for merchants from around the world will come to you. They will bring you the wealth of many lands. 6 Vast caravans of camels will converge on you, the camels of Midian and Ephah. The people of Sheba will bring gold and frankincense and will come worshiping the LORD . 7 The flocks of Kedar will be given to you, and the rams of Nebaioth will be brought for my altars. I will accept their offerings, and I will make my Temple glorious. 8 “And what do I see flying like clouds to Israel, like doves to their nests? 9 They are ships from the ends of the earth, from lands that trust in me, led by the great ships of Tarshish. They are bringing the people of Israel home from far away, carrying their silver and gold. They will honor the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has filled you with splendor. 10 “Foreigners will come to rebuild your towns, and their kings will serve you. For though I have destroyed you in my anger, I will now have mercy on you through my grace. 11 Your gates will stay open day and night to receive the wealth of many lands. The kings of the world will be led as captives in a victory procession. 12 For the nations that refuse to serve you will be destroyed. 13 “The glory of Lebanon will be yours— the forests of cypress, fir, and pine— to beautify my sanctuary. My Temple will be glorious! 14 The descendants of your tormentors will come and bow before you. Those who despised you will kiss your feet. They will call you the City of the LORD, and Zion of the Holy One of Israel. 15 “Though you were once despised and hated, with no one traveling through you, I will make you beautiful forever, a joy to all generations. 16 Powerful kings and mighty nations will satisfy your every need, as though you were a child nursing at the breast of a queen. You will know at last that I, the LORD, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Israel. 17 I will exchange your bronze for gold, your iron for silver, your wood for bronze, and your stones for iron. I will make peace your leader and righteousness your ruler. 18 Violence will disappear from your land; the desolation and destruction of war will end. Salvation will surround you like city walls, and praise will be on the lips of all who enter there. 19 “No longer will you need the sun to shine by day, nor the moon to give its light by night, for the LORD your God will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. 20 Your sun will never set; your moon will not go down. For the LORD will be your everlasting light. Your days of mourning will come to an end. 21 All your people will be righteous. They will possess their land forever, for I will plant them there with my own hands in order to bring myself glory. 22 The smallest family will become a thousand people, and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation. At the right time, I, the LORD, will make it happen.”
Thy Kingdom Come! | The Prayer Experience with Nigel Turton | Thurs 16th Sept 2021 Join Nigel as he leads the TEAM in prayer this afternoon. We have a responsibility to stand in prayer on behalf of communities and nations. [Isaiah 56:7 GNT] "I will bring you to Zion, my sacred hill, give you joy in my house of prayer, and accept the sacrifices you offer on my altar. My Temple will be called a house of prayer for the people of all nations." Let us PRAY.
This is IMPORTANT! I am excited to share my personal journey and insight regarding the post COVID reset we are all experiencing. In this episode I will share what I believe is the most important message from God for the future of the Church in our current crisis. I believe that this reset is not Destructive it is Constructive… God is raising us UP not tearing us DOWN! QUESTION: What gives you the right to matter? What gives you the right to manage your metron? There are 33,000 denominations and thousands of years of Church history, yet you MATTER in the Kingdom! Listen as I share the connection between the Original Commission [Theology of Work] and the Functional Definition of Ekklesia [Church] as declared by Christ! I utilize a sweeping yet concise introduction of ekklesia from the timely book titled 'Ekklesia', by Dr. Ed Silvoso. ‘Jesus did not state, “I will build My Temple” or “I will build My synagogue,” the two most prominent Jewish religious institutions at the time. Instead, He chose a secular entity first developed by the Greeks when He said, “I will build My Ekklesia.” - Dr. Silvoso Follow as I unpack a crucial, yet lost understanding of Church [Ekklesia] that authorizes YOU into Gods spiritual government.
John 2:14-15,NLT- In the Temple area He saw merchants selling cattle, sheep, and doves for sacrifices; He also saw dealers at tables exchanging foreign money. Jesus made a whip from some ropes and chased them all out of the Temple. He drove out the sheep and cattle, scattered the money changers' coins over the floor, and turned over their tables. Matthew 21, Mark 11, Luke 19, Jesus said, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,' but you have turned it into a den of thieves!” The scripture says, My house will be a house of prayer. Today we would say His church, both individually and corporately are His temple. A living house of prayer. Individually and corporately. As we get into our talk, something that's a continued work in my life is the awareness of just who I'm talking too. During our last prayer night there Lord gave me a word about us “stepping into to something” I had no idea at that moment what that was, and I'm still not a 100%. But part of it is the change concerning Wednesday night prayer. I believe God is leading us into something corporate, something that's going to unify us as a body to a much higher degree. The longer I walk with the Lord, I am convinced that the most important reality of prayer is how we experience a divine relationship with our Father through fellowship. Prayer is not only an avenue of fellowship with God living in us, it's also how a human, born of His world navigates that world. Hebrews 4:14-16,NKJV- Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. I bring this passage up to highlight the coming into His presence boldly more than simply coming to get something. I'm hoping we can all leave here with a better understanding that ultimately, our Father, the Almighty simply wants to hang out with His kids. Let's look at prayer from a natural perspective for a second, maybe from the viewpoint of a parent and a child; When children are young and immature, their primary communication is getting their needs met. But as they grow and mature, the relationship dynamic changes to one more of fellowship. I honestly believe that the most significant aspect of quality prayer is centered around our relationship with our Father. Go back to Genesis, it becomes very clear that God's intention from the beginning is to be El Shaddai for all His people. As a matter of fact, according to Philippians 4, God will supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Think about Adam, what did he need as far as provision? So what do you think his prayer life was about? What if God's main thing He's looking for is exactly what He lost with Adam, and that is simply a relationship with His creation. The Apostle Paul takes us a little further in Ephesians by giving us some excellent insight into some of the things we should be praying about. Ephesians 1:20-23,NKJV- ...according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.” Notice the Holy Spirit led Paul to pray that they would be able to recognize what He's already done. In that same chapter He also says this, The Lord Jesus Christ, HAS BLESSED us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ... Ephesians 2, Jesus made us alive and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Peter adds that God has given usexceedingly great and precious promises, that through these we may be partakers of His divine nature. Don't kid yourself, operating in this world only happens by faith. In others words, we've gotta believe this stuff. Hebrews 11:6,NLT- “It's impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.” Get this settled in your spirit, we will never operate in God's world without believing in it. Remember, “It's impossible to please Gods without faith.” Let me throw this in here, worrying to God isn't praying. Probably the best way of overcoming worry is worship. And worship is key component of prayer. Think about it, if you're needing to see it to believe it, how can you honestly pray to a God you can't see? “Anyone who come to God must believe that He is...” Mark 11:24, Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Now I'm not talking about some kind of mind game where we're pretending to believe something's real that isn't. I'm talking about functioning in a world beyond our natural one. The just shall live by faith. The moment the born again actually choose to believe, we have Divine access to God's world, with the ability to bring its realities into our world. Believing connects us to God's ever existing power. This is faith. Faith is the bridge between the two worlds. According to Hebrews, faith is substance of things, hoped for. But because God only has imperfect people to work through, many times His power is hindered because of our unbelief. Truth is, we honestly haven't accepted the fact that is really that simple, “Only Believe” But as we're transformed, our believing starts overriding doubt and we start seeing greater results. And this is why ultimately, prayer has to be about us fellowshipping with our Father. So a healthy prayer life, a lifestyle if you will, is growing to the place where we're able to fellowship with Him right in the middle of our daily routine. Keep in mind, the enemy, and most definitely human nature will constantly pull against the things of the Spirit. So if we're always looking to our intellectual, carnal world to confirm a world that makes no sense to our humanity, then faith and prayer will always be that mysterious thing we're always a little unsure of. Proverbs 3:5-6,MSG- Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for GOD's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He's the one who will keep you on track. Don't assume that you know it all. Run to GOD! There is a Kingdom of Heaven principle here that we can all grow in, and it all starts with an element of trust. There is this supernatural life connected with simply hanging out with our Father. One of our primary purposes with prayer night is creating an atmosphere where we're all drawing closer, discovering prayer on a more relational level. Remember, more things are caught than taught. So the more time we simply fellowship with God, the more His nature, personality, His attitude becomes ours. Proverbs 3 actually becomes part of who we are and this world no longer has the same influence. Think about this way, can you honestly have a Proverbs 3 kind of trust in someone you don't know?In Timothy, Paul really sums it up perfectly, “I know the one in whom I trust.” This is why the Holy Spirit instructs us in Ephesians to not live so carelessly and unthinking, but to make sure we comprehend what Jesus actually did for us. And the longer I walk with the Lord, I am convinced that the most important reality of prayer is how we experience our relationship with the Father, with our King and with It's an avenue of fellowship with our King, and with the Holy Spirit living in each born-again believer. And even though we're having a special night we gather as a family for prayer, in your personal life, instead of trying to make prayer this special thing you do from time to time, practice making prayer a lifestyle, an all day kinda thing. Learning to fellowship with God right in the middle of our daily routine. James 5:16,AMP- “The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available, dynamic in its working.” Worrying to God isn't prayer. Possibly one of the best practices we can develop is an awareness of just who we're talking too.
Matthew 21 As Jesus and the disciples approached Jerusalem, they came to the town of Bethphage on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of them on ahead. 2 “Go into the village over there,” he said. “As soon as you enter it, you will see a donkey tied there, with its colt beside it. Untie them and bring them to me. 3 If anyone asks what you are doing, just say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and he will immediately let you take them.” 4 This took place to fulfill the prophecy that said, 5 “Tell the people of Jerusalem, ‘Look, your King is coming to you. He is humble, riding on a donkey—riding on a donkey’s colt.’” 6 The two disciples did as Jesus commanded. 7 They brought the donkey and the colt to him and threw their garments over the colt, and he sat on it. 8 Most of the crowd spread their garments on the road ahead of him, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around him were shouting, “Praise God for the Son of David! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Praise God in highest heaven!” 10 The entire city of Jerusalem was in an uproar as he entered. “Who is this?” they asked. 11 And the crowds replied, “It’s Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.” 12 Jesus entered the Temple and . . . . . . began to drive out all the people buying and selling animals for sacrifice. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves. 13 He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves!” 14 The blind and the lame came to him in the Temple, and he healed them. 15 The leading priests and the teachers of religious law saw these wonderful miracles and heard even the children in the Temple shouting, “Praise God for the Son of David.” But the leaders were indignant. 16 They asked Jesus, “Do you hear what these children are saying?” “Yes,” Jesus replied. “Haven’t you ever read the Scriptures? For they say, ‘You have taught children and infants to give you praise.’” Matthew 26 When it was evening, Jesus sat down at the table with the Twelve. 21 While they were eating, he said, “I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me.” 22 Greatly distressed, each one asked in turn, “Am I the one, Lord?” 23 He replied, “One of you who has just eaten from this bowl with me will betray me. 24 For the Son of Man must die, as the Scriptures declared long ago. But how terrible it will be for the one who betrays him. It would be far better for that man if he had never been born!” 25 Judas, the one who would betray him, also asked, “Rabbi, am I the one?” And Jesus told him, “You have said it.” 26 As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.” 27 And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, 28 for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many. 29 Mark my words—I will not drink wine again until the day I drink it new with you in my Father’s Kingdom.”
KINGDOM MATTERS He set up shop for the day. Will he overturn tables, chase, rebuke, or would He endorse your activities? amazon.com/anneajadi anneajadinspirations.com Instagram/arnajadi Twitter/arnajadi
Based on Matthew chapter 21 verses 12 to 32 Jesus Clears the Temple DISCIPLE ANDREW ‘Hi, I'm Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, one of Jesus' disciples. We'd seen Jesus come to Jerusalem with crowds singing His praises and throwing their cloaks on the ground before Him as He rode a young donkey. And just like us, we knew that the crowd thought Jesus was the Messiah who'd come to rule Israel and set us free from the Romans. (P) Funny thing that He should've chosen a young donkey to ride on though, because a warrior king would have chosen a warhorse. A donkey spoke more - about peace! But then again, Jesus kept trying to tell us that He wasn't going to be the kind of Messiah we expected.' (PAUSE) ‘When Jesus arrived in Jerusalem, and the donkey had been sent home, Jesus went to the temple – the most Holy place in Israel. But when He got there He kind of went crazy – or so we thought. The temple was where all the sacrifices took place, and this was very important because when normal people, like us disciples, came to the temple, we would say sorry to God for our sins, and instead of us being put to death for our sins like the law demands – for all those who break God's laws deserve to die - the animal was put to death in our place. When this happened, when the animal died in our place, God forgave us.' ‘But the leaders in the temple had worked out how to make lots of money from this. Firstly, they said that they had to provide the animals for sacrifice and so we had to buy them in the temple and not bring our own. Then, we weren't allowed to use our own money to buy the animals. We had to exchange our own money for special temple money which we could then use to buy the animals and whatever else we needed. This way, the leaders and the chief priests made a lot of money out of the people as they came to try and worship God.' ‘Anyway, as I was saying, when Jesus arrived in the temple, He went kind of crazy – as in He got very angry!! I guess He must have seen what was going on, that the ordinary people were being cheated, and that all that mattered to the leaders was making money. First, Jesus drove out all the merchants and their customers! Then, and we couldn't believe our eyes when He did this, He turned over the tables of the moneychangers, scattering both the temple money and the ordinary money all over the floor! Not only that, but He also knocked over the stalls of those who were selling doves for sacrifice, and then refused to let anyone into the temple who was bringing in merchandise of any type! And as He did this He shouted, ‘The Scriptures say, ‘My Temple will be called a place of prayer,' but you have turned it into a den of thieves!'' ‘We just watched - open-mouthed! This was going to cause real problems with the chief priests! But after Jesus had done this, showing how unhappy He was that the place for meeting God had become a place for making money - the blind and the lame came and found Him. They came to Him in the temple and He healed them all!' ‘The chief priests and teachers of the law saw all these wonderful miracles and, to their disgust, as Jesus healed these people, some children started shouting, ‘Praise God for the Son of David.'' ‘‘Have you heard what these children are saying?' they asked, furiously.' ‘'Yes, I have,' Jesus replied. ‘But haven't you read what the Scriptures say? They say, ‘From the mouths of children and infants you have prepared praise.' After this, we went back to Bethany and stayed there overnight.' (PAUSE) ‘Next morning as we headed back to Jerusalem I felt sure Jesus would be in trouble with the chief priests and teachers of the law for the way He'd cleared out the temple, so when we arrived I wasn't surprised to see a group of them waiting to talk to Him. ‘By whose authority did you drive out the merchants from the Temple yesterday? they demanded. ‘Who gave you this authority?'' ‘Jesus looked at the group of them but instead of answering their question, He asked one of...

What would any of Jesus’ Disciples say if they walked into your church? If Peter walked into the cathedral built in his name, I think he’d start tearing down statues — including those of Mary — and candle stands and scream, quoting what Jesus said when He cleared the money changers from the temple… The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves!” Matthew 21:13 NLT“ He would also add that with all the idolatry, it’s become a pagan temple and an abomination to God. And, he’d be right. If Paul walked into a progressive church like the United Church of Christ, he’d sit quietly in the back shaking his head and thinking to himself… “Oh, dear Lord! What I wrote to Timothy all those years ago came true! What happened?” What did he write to Timothy? You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. 4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. 5 They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that! 8 These teachers oppose the truth…They have depraved minds and a counterfeit faith. 9 But they won’t get away with this for long. Someday everyone will recognize what fools they are… 2 Timothy 2:1-5, 8-9 NLT What Did Happen to the Church founded by Jesus portrayed in the Book of Acts? Chris Pumilia 12 Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out all the people buying and selling animals for sacrifice.
The temple of God is not just any building—it's God's House set apart like no other building for His own special purposes. As God's people, what we do with God's House directly affects our house. It is an honor to make preparations to build and take care of God's House. Pastor Jason Lozano shares that as we seize the moment to take care of the temple of God, we can get ready for the Glory of God. Seizing The Moment - When God Decides to Trust Us to Build His House1. What We Do With God's House Directly Affects Our HouseHaggai 1:2-4 Thus speaks the Lord of hosts, saying: ‘This people says, “The time has not come, the time that the Lord's house should be built.” 3 Then the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying, 4 “Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and thistemple to lie in ruins?”● We are in this world but not of this world, we are God's people● The temple is not just any building, it's God's house set apart like noother building for His own special purposes1 Chronicles 12:32 they understood the times and knew what Israelshould do● Time (Kairos) An appointed time or season, a moment of maximumopportunity, it is a moment when change is possible and amoment when all things “come together” and align● We must seize this moment in time and walk through the open doorRevelations 3:8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door, which no one can shut. For you have only a little strength, yet you have kept My word and have not denied My name● I believe the reason why God is trusting us with this awesomeresponsibility, we have been and will be all about the saving of souls2. What An Honor For Us To Make Preparations To Build God's HouseHaggai 1:8 “Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified,” says the Lord● Temple – palace, sanctuary, a spacious royal splendid building1 Chronicles 22:5 (nlv) The house that is to be built for the Lord must be very beautiful. It must be very great, and well-known in all the Nations. So I will make preparations and get things ready for it to be built1 Chronicles 29:1-3,9 (nlv) It is a very big work because this beautiful house is not for man, but for the Lord God. 2 I have given all that I have been able to give for the house of my God. 3 The house of my God means so much to me. 9 Then the people were filled with joy because they had been so willing to give. They gave their gift to the Lord with a whole heart. And King David was filled with great joy2 Corinthians 9:7 (gwt) Each of you should give whatever you have decided. You shouldn't be sorry that you gave or feel forced to give, since God loves a cheerful giver3. Get Ready For The Glory of GodHaggai 2:7-9 ‘I will shake all nations, and they shall come to you, the desire of all nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,' says the Lord of hosts. 8 ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,' says the Lord of hosts. 9 ‘The glory of this 2nd temple shall be greater than the former,' says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place, I will give peace,' says the Lord of hosts● Glory – weightiness, heavy, substantial, honor, splendor, power, wealth, dignity, riches and excellencyIsaiah 60:13 (tlb) The glory will be yours to beautify My sanctuary. The scriptures declare, “My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations…” - Jesus
The scriptures declare, “My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations…” - Jesus
Luke 19:45-47 NLT 'Then Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people selling animals for sacrifices. He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.” After that, he taught daily in the Temple…' There is a great wave of satisfaction following a genuine clear-out. The challenge of downsizing is that many things carry meaningful memories. It is the memories associated with them that are hard to give away. In the famous story of the cleansing of the temple, Jesus drives out the moneychangers as well as the animals they were selling for sacrifice. This was a prophetic act, more than a social and political one. Jesus was headed for the cross, where a whole new relationship between God and humanity was born. As such we would no longer need to bring physical sacrifices to make peace between ourselves and God. We became the living sacrifices whose lives revealed the truth of God on earth. The problem remains, however, that it is far easier to do something in a vain attempt to please God than it is to accept God’s redemption and live content with prayer alone. Throughout Jesus’ ministry we observe great teaching and many miraculous signs to Jesus’ divine authority. We also note that Jesus often withdrew to pray. On the eve of his crucifixion, he prayed to his Father in Gethsemane. Prayer is the response we are invited to make to God. It is not the exploits we undertake for God, but the prayer and heart attitude we present to God that influence not only our own growth but also seed the kingdom of God on earth. The basis upon which humanity approaches, honours and serves God has changed. It is my conviction that we have much to learn and that it is imperative that we ensure God’s house is primarily a place of prayer. QUESTION: How much are you [itals]doing[end itals] for God and how much are you [itals]praying[end itals] for God’s kingdom to come on earth “as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10, NLT)? PRAYER: Help me to clear out the dross and focus again on prayer and relationship with you.
Matthew 21:12-13 (NLT) Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out all the people buying and selling animals for sacrifice. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves. 13 He said to them, "The Scriptures declare, 'My Temple will be called a house of prayer,' but you have turned it into a den of thieves!" TREASURE #1: PRAYER TREASURE #2: HEALING Matthew 21:14 (NLT) The blind and the lame came to him in the Temple, and He healed them. TREASURE #3: JOY Isaiah 56:7 (NLT) I will bring them to My holy mountain of Jerusalem and will fill them with joy [give them cause to rejoice] in My house of prayer. I will accept their burnt offerings and sacrifices because My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations TREASURE #4: IT'S FOR EVERYONE TREASURE #5: DIRECTION Luke 19:47-48 (NASB) Jesus was teaching daily in the temple but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people were trying to destroy Him [His message], ... for all the people were hanging* on to every word He said TREASURE #6: PASSION John 2:13-17 (NASB) The Passover was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 And He found in the temple those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers seated at their tables. 15 And He made a scourge of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables; 16 and to those who were selling the doves He said, "Take these things away; stop making My Father's house a place of business." 17 His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal [to boil, be hot; passion, jealousy] for Your house will consume me." 1 Peter 2:9-10 (MSG) You are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God's instruments to do His work and speak out for Him, to tell others of the night–and–day difference He made for you–– 10 from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/spiritlifechurch/message
Using Philippians 2 as our foundation, we've explored what it means for us as a church to have the same attitude as Christ, lowering ourselves for the sake of those around us - for the sake of those who are different than us - and in so doing, creating a community which unlocks the full diversity of our gifts. We've talked about choosing between two paths: The Path of Hate: Superiority --> Discrimination --> Dehumanization The Path of Self-Giving Love: Humility --> Compassion --> Elevation During this sermon, we are talking about one more topic which has come to the forefront in our modern, globalized world: how we as the Church should respond when we encounter people of other nationalities and cultures. Isaiah 60:1-18 1 "Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see. For the glory of the LORD rises to shine on you. 2 Darkness as black as night covers all the nations of the earth, but the glory of the LORD rises and appears over you. 3 All nations will come to your light; mighty kings will come to see your radiance. 4 Look and see, for everyone is coming home! 8 And what do I see flying like clouds to Israel, like doves to their nests? 9 They are ships from the ends of the earth, from lands that trust in me, led by the great ships of Tarshish. They are bringing the people of Israel home from far away, carrying their silver and gold. They will honor the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has filled you with splendor. 10 Foreigners will come to rebuild your towns, and their kings will serve you. For though I have destroyed you in my anger, I will now have mercy on you through my grace. 11 Your gates will stay open day and night to receive the wealth of many lands. The kings of the world will be led as captives in a victory procession. 12 For the nations that refuse to serve you will be destroyed. 13 The glory of Lebanon will be yours, the forests of cypress, fir, and pine, to beautify my sanctuary. My Temple will be glorious! 14 The descendants of your tormentors will come and bow before you. Those who despised you will kiss your feet. They will call you the City of the LORD, and Zion of the Holy One of Israel. 15 Though you were once despised and hated, with no one traveling through you, I will make you beautiful forever, a joy to all generations. Salvation will surround you like city walls, and praise will be on the lips of all who enter there." So, Israelites held onto this hopeful picture for centuries. Even into the early Church. Listen to how the Apostle John describes Jerusalem in the New Creation in Revelation. Revelation 21:24-26 The nations will walk in [the light of the Lamb], and the kings of the world will enter the city in all their glory. Its gates will never be closed at the end of day because there is no night there. And all the nations will bring their glory and honor into the city. However, with the coming of Jesus, this whole idea got a huge twist. Wise men from the east bring him gold and frankincense (not the temple). He speaks of himself as the temple of God - the meeting place between heaven and earth. And listen to how he sends out his followers: Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere, in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." At Pentecost, that curse is healed, but not by everyone speaking one language again, but by the disciples preaching the gospel in all the languages. Listen to how the crowd responds: Acts 2:7-12 They were completely amazed. "How can this be?" they exclaimed. "These people are all from Galilee, and yet we hear them speaking in our own native languages! Here we are, Parthians, Medes, Elamites, people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, the province of Asia, Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, and the areas of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome (both Jews and converts to Judaism), Cretans, and Arabs. And we all hear these people speaking in our own languages about the wonderful things God has done!" This was Isaiah 60 coming to life, but in a way nobody saw coming. The temple of God was going to the nations. As new cultures and nations joined the family of God, they brought their unique gifts and wealth and knowledge and perspective to bear to make the temple of God beautiful. You see it all throughout the New Testament! Because of the Holy Spirit, we, the body of Christ, are the meeting place between Heaven and Earth. I said in week one that the ground beneath our feet is New Creation. We are citizens of heaven living on this planet. And since our nation is so deeply broken by hatred and division, we have the opportunity, as representatives of our king, to show our world a different way to live. We can be a community where different cultures come together in their uniqueness to make the dwelling place of God beautiful. So often we close ourselves off from other cultures because we see them as a threat, not a blessing. To have compassion on other nationalities, we have to be willing to let others into our lives and we have to use our own strength/power/wealth/gifts (our own gold and frankincense) to lift them up. If we are willing to walk the path of Self-Giving Love together in our approach to other cultures, we can become multicultural and represent the kingdom of God to our world. We are the body of Christ. Citizens of heaven. The ground beneath our feet is New Creation. Where we go, the light of Christ rises over the darkness.
Matthew 21:13 NLT He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves!” The lack of change I notice within myself about anger concerns me. I have, until recently, only seen little differences in my responses from my 18-year-old self to my contemporary self. Yet, slowly I am seeing some light in what has been a bleak landscape. The other morning I caught my toe on the end of our bed; it really hurt. Jayne was present and I knew that she was observing which route I might adopt. My traditional process would have been to swear or react with a verbal torrent and probably ‘discipline’ the bed by hitting it with something. See, like I have written on earlier occasions, sometimes I am not nice to know! However I said “ouch”, sat down on the bed, massaged my bruised toe, and tried to catch my breath as the pain was quite intense. Even as I did this, without much premeditation, I might add, I observed Jayne relax and naturally commiserate with me. This was a different reaction and shows that increasingly, I am effectively managing my anger. I can’t convey how wonderful this feels. I credit the work of the Holy Spirit and the patient, unfailing love of Jayne to confront and endure my reactions to circumstance alongside her brave interventions. I now recognise that anger is not about me; it is how my behaviour might impact another. Perhaps Jesus is incensed at the prices charged to the poor so they might make sacrifice and fulfil their service to God. Perhaps it is the degree to which external practice had come to replace inner authenticity in prayerfully approaching a merciful God. It is in thinking of others ahead of ourselves that the true path of Christian discipleship lies. Jesus represents the interests of his Father. He then makes his way to the cross on your behalf. Consider where and how you might die to self and live out of service of both God and others. This is the greatest commandment. QUESTION: What shortcoming of yours most impacts those around you? PRAYER: Lord God, help me to see, consider and love those who I encounter today.
