Brief summary of show: In this episode of the Motherhood Village podcast, I speak with special guests Kristy, the founder of Twinkle Toes™ Nanny Agency, and the owner of the Gainesville and Tampa, Florida locations. She founded Twinkle Toes when she was having trouble finding a nanny service for her own children, and Nicole, the owner of Twinkle Toes Nanny Agency West Broward. She worked as a nanny for the Tampa location and moved back home after school and decided to take the risk of opening a south Florida location. The episode explores their journey from being nannies to becoming successful entrepreneurs. Founded by Kristy to solve the problem of finding quality local nanny services for her own children, Twinkle Toes has grown into an expansive network with 22 locations. It provides a unique framework that ensures security and work-life balance for the nannies, and reliability for the families. Since it was founded in 2011, Twinkle Toes Nanny Agency has grown to more than 20 locations across 5 states, adding up to a total revenue of nearly $12 million a year–and they're not done growing yet. Founder Kristy Bickmeyer shares how to start a daycare business and grow it to 8-figure revenue in this episode. Kristy's experience as a mother led her to starting a childcare business. She was stunned by the high placement fees nanny agencies charged when she searched for a nanny for her son. As a long-time nanny herself, Kristy knew she could find a better way to connect parents with the childcare professionals they needed, and Twinkle Toes was the result of this innovation. If you're wondering what it takes to start a profitable nanny or daycare business, this interview with Kristy will answer your questions. She'll share the main challenges of starting a nanny agency and how she overcame them at Twinkle Toes. You'll also hear how she manages her workflow, how she connects with parents, and everything else you need to know to start a childcare business of your own.Resources:Twinkle Toes Nanny Agency - Learn more about the company on their websiteHow to Start and Grow a Side Hustle in 2023 - Podcast interview with Nick Loper from Side Hustle NationUpFlip on YouTube - Watch interviews with business owners on our YouTube channelUpFlip HUB - Actionable insights on how to start and grow a business on the UpFlip website The 5AM Club: Own Your Morning. From the quiet roads of New Hampshire, where snapping turtles are more common than lizards, to the depths of our evolutionary past, we'll grapple with the idea that we may still carry a piece of our reptilian ancestors within us. But don't be too quick to believe popular pop-psychology. We'll explore what the Triune Brain model tells us about our so-called "reptilian brain" and how it shapes our instinctual responses. We'll question if there's a lurking Allosaurus within our minds or if it's just an oversimplification of a complex organ. Evolution Talk is also a book! What new sports sensation is sweeping the nation? What foods are off limits once you turn 25? And what U.S branch of government makes its triumphant return? We legislate these questions and more as we watch Season 7, Episode 20 of Family Matters. Alex Diamond, David Kenny, and John McDaniel heard that the long-running network sitcom Family Matters ends with side character Steve Urkel going to space. And the best way to figure out how that happened - obviously - is to watch the last episode first and make our way backwards through nearly ten years of television.Join our countdown to number one (and our slow descent into madness) in all the places you expect internet people to be:Website: jumpingtheshuttle.spaceEmail: jumpingtheshuttle@gmail.comInstagram: @JumpingTheShuttle / @ThatAlexD / @dak577Twitter: @JumpingShuttle / @ThatAlexD / @dak577TikTok: @JumpingTheShuttle / @dak577Brought to you by Smooth My Balls

It has all come down to this. Fun vs. technique. Twinkle Toes vs. Super Mario. It's a finale that splits our loyalties, but we can all agree that it's one of the best finals that DWTS ever produced. Over the course of the hour, Katy elects to take the path of hatred, while Chris displays how to be a gracious loser in the face of poor sportsmanship. The fabulous final five of season three go head-to-head this week, and Chris and Katy are here to break it all down. We have so much to discuss - no elimination in week 6, a group Disco, and Katy declares herself all in on a contestant (and it’s not a surprise). Mario continues to be consistently SO good. We finally get a samba roll again, and a sexy rumba prompts a game of how often a person can say sexy. Katy is brought to literal tears, and Chris begins to understand how the judges feel when they give legitimate criticism and are met with passionate responses. And we have to bid a very fond adieu to a contestant that surprised us all. Expect all this and more, including a very accurate Marilyn Monroe impression!
