This week, we review one of the hardest and most entertaining albums ever made from a rather unique figure in hip-hop. None other than Tim Dog and his debut album Penicillin On Wax, released in 1991. Tim Dog, frustrated with the dominance of West Coast hip-hop (namely N.W.A) proceeds to viciously attack the group and others with singles Fuck Compton and Step To Me. But Tim shows throughout the album that anyone can get it, from the west or not. Production primarily from the Ultramagnetic MC's, the rough beats combined with Tim's rough rhymes make this an underground classic. https://instagram.com/str8_the_clippa?igshid=MzMyNGUyNmU2YQ== https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100086006336425&mibextid=LQQJ4d
On Episode 134, we're paying homage to one of the most innovated groups in hip-hop. The Ultramagnetic MC's were your favorite rap group's favorite rap group. In '88, Critical Beatdown joined It Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back and Straight Outta Compton as revolutionary albums that changed the landscape of hip-hop forever. Ultra's unconventional rhymes, mixed with their sinister production and style, created one of the most important sounds to come out of the Bronx. On this episode, we not only take you musical journey featuring the Ultra's catalog, we'ved carved out a few mixes dedicated to the spectacular career of Kool Keith as well. We're covering Dr. Octagon, Cenobites, Sex Style, First Come, First Served, Black Elvis, Matthew, Pimp To Eat, Master of Illusions and all the other 500 albums he's released over the years. We've got the the remixes, the features and collabos from Roc Marciano, Atmosphere, Czarface, MF DOOM, High & Mighty, Chino XL, Prince Paul, Kutmasta Kurt, TomC3 and Automator. Plus we have an amazing record giveaway from RuffNation and a Black Elvis action figure courtesy of Detailed Junkees. www.takeitpersonalradio.com Follow us on Instagram @takeitpersonalradio Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TakeItPersonal
On Episode 133, we linked up with Kool Keith and Ced Gee of Ultramagnetic MC's to discuss their legendary careers. Both originators and innovators, who helped usher in a new sound, all while laying the blueprint down for the underground. What started out an interview dissecting things in chronological order, turned into a session of guys having fun, cracking jokes and some very forthright and downright fascinating stories from Keith. Topics include: Critical Beatdown Criminal Minded Lyor Cohen & Def Jam Records Dissing Run-DMC Tim Dog Why "Fuck Compton" was made The making of The Four Horseman Dr. Octagon Godfather Don Kutmaster Kurt The Automator Fighting with Foxy Brown The Negro Leagues of Baseball Nas Rawkus Records Ced Gee X Kool Keith LP On our next episode, we'll be doing a tribute to both Ultramagnetic and the solo career of Kool Keith and all 45 different aliases. Big thank you to Hip-Hop legend/icon Kool Keith and Hip-Hop producer/artist Marc Live for calling into my show for an interview! Kool Keith talked about putting together Black Elvis 2, addressing the backlash that he faced while performing Sex Style at an event when the pandemic was taking over on his song Kindergarten Adults, and the jealousy that Ultramagnetic MC's faced. He talked about why Sony was holding the first Black Elvis album when he was signed to them. Marc Live got into his production work on Black Elvis 2, what it's like working with Keith behind the scenes, and being the creator and consulting producer for Ice Loves Coco. Kool Keith also talked about seeing Michael Jackson at an iHop in Los Angeles, his song Plastic World off of Sex Style not getting a lot of attention, and the Black Elvis action figure that is currently available for pre-order. Stay tuned for Kool Keith's upcoming solo album and work with Marc Live! *Due to technical issues, the full interview did not save to recording* Kool Keith's new album Black Elvis is available on all platforms, including Apple Music: https://music.apple.com/us/album/black-elvis-2/1679040489. This week's review is of one of the greatest Hip-Hop albums ever made from one of the most underrated groups ever. Critical Beatdown from the Ultramagnetic MC's is one of the most ahead of its time LP's in 1988 from its production (Ced Gee/Paul C) to its out of this world lyrics (Kool Keith/Ced Gee) that still holds up to this day. https://instagram.com/str8_the_clippa?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100086006336425&mibextid=LQQJ4d
On this installment of SRR, we discuss the golden age hip hop classic from Ultramagnetic MC's Critical Beatdown!
Dan Lish is a UK based artist whose of drawings of some of hip hops greatest creators has become instantly recognizable due to the intricate details and personal touches that go into every piece. The first installment of his book collecting some of these drawings is called "EgoStrip" and it has long been sold out. But you'll recognize the illustrations that grace album covers from artists such as Elzhi, J Period, Raekwon, Blu/Nottz and several others. Dan has a deep love for hip hop and its culture, having been at some point involved in several elements. He brings this rich history to his drawings and was kind enough to spend time with us to talk about some of that history. Then we mix things up a bit and take a short detour from our standard format by talking about Dan's favorite 12" singles from Ultramagnetic MC's "Critical Beatdown".
Happy Born Day, Bash! 6 is the dopest number! So let's just start off by writing this. No one will probably ever see this truly brilliant and blessed episode of BK and AY doing their thang like no one's bizness. They laid it out perfectly for highlighting and gassing up the year's 1993 and 1994 in hip hop/rap. Brutal honest stories and reflections and sentiments and flash backs and relatable forwards.... The entire recipe cooked so well in this episode but unfortunately the powers that be are like HELL NO!!! No one can see this. Copy rights... WTF?!? Adui Yako and BK ain't ever tried to steal from no one or take anyone else's shine as or for their own. That's not the way big business sees it. WPI had been warned of the no play zone they entered with some of the selections they chose to share. And if these songs were played then a strict no question no see zone would immediately be implemented. And so it stands just as that right now. It's so bad that we don't even want to write the names of the songs or the groups that were played because that to might be for whatever reason a problem or some broken law/rule. Ridiculous but a potential fact. We Play It shares greatness for great reasons. The people and music that are played are seen only in the highest respect at WPI. WPI gives flowers to those they play and for some reason this is not being understood nor cared about by the powers to be. 1993 and 1994, you were the epitome of rap music and the standard set without ever being truly defined or needed to be. You turned young men into proud soldiers literally. You kicked open a door no one saw, no one believed should be there, and no one thought anyone else would walk through, but we all know now that was definitely not the case. Everyone is inside the room of rap now because of that door. Everyone! So many more that we played and that we didn't play. Thank you! Thank you for cementing hip hop and paving a way for all of us to build endless paths to wherever one may want or need to go. Fly shit is always the real shit and real shit stays Golden... #BARZ AY the Wide Nose Bandit notables: De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang, NAS, Souls of Mischief, Pharcyde, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Black Sheep, Camp Lo, Ultramagnetic MC's, Digable Planets, Black Moon, KRS-1, Tupac, Queen Latifah, Leaders of the New School, Lords of the Underground, Jeru The Damaja, Common, The Fugees, Artifacts, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Redman, Organized Konfusion, and a grip more. Retrospective of the Ultramagnetic MC's and 90's Hip Hop Music
Ced Gee stops by Unique Access with Soren Baker to discuss his belief that Scott La Rock was assassinated. The Ultramagnetic MC's member also tells Soren Baker that he shouldn't have produced Tim Dog's LP. The Bronx rapper-producer also says it is his fault for not getting “Criminal Minded" production credit & that Ultramagnetic MC's passed on a Def Jam Recordings deal. Ced Gee also details Schoolly D being an anomaly, how Salt-N-Pepa's success cost Ultramagnetic MC's, why he hates “Funk Your Head Up” & that the “Saga Of Dandy, The Devil & Day” needed to be done. The exaggerated swing collides with the speed-rap to form an infectious brew of opposites that spread like wildfire after 10's "Pistolgrip-Pump" hit the charts in '94. volume10.bandcamp.com Kool Keith might be considered the godfather of weird rap music, having introduced his wildly unorthodox take on hip hop in the late 80s with Ultramagnetic MC's, further developing his bizarre styles and subject matter in the 90s, and continuing to expand his range through today. koolkeith.bandcamp.com This month's bonus episode features additional time with First Degree, plus an amazing behind-the-scenes tale featuring several well-known rappers, as related by Volume 10. Episode 94 is our 5th and final installment of our 1993 tribute. We close-out the series with music from Souls of Mischief, A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots, Eazy-E, Ultramagnetic MC's, Kurious, M.O.P., Black Moon, Preacher Earl, Shadz of Lingo, Rumplestilkinz and Shyheim. And speaking of Shyheim, you know we had to share our thoughts on the whole Drink Champs fiasco. At the break we discuss the '93 remixes and where they rank. Kev does a killer Vinnie Paz impersonation and we finally announce the winners of our Get On Down giveaway. After 5 episodes and 16+ hours of music, memories and laughs, we are officially done with 1993. With the Summer Olympics going on and episode 89 being a '92 celebration, we couldn't think of a better way to pay homage than with the legendary Sports Illustrated cover featuring the '92 Dream Team. Episode 89 is an appetizer, as we take a quick-trip down memory lane before making a hard stop on one of the greatest years hip-hop. Instead of feeding you the played-out '92 classics, we focus on the deep album cuts and some of our more obscure favorites of '92. We've got music from Positive K, Diamond D, Grand Puba, Too $hort, MC Serch, Compton's Most Wanted, Paris, Heavy D, Gang Starr, Above The Law, X-Clan, Ultramagnetic MC's and DJ Quik to name a few. Personally, DJ Pooh was one of my biggest inspirations as a producer in the 1980s. Additionally, his career clearly showcases that he is one of the most intriguing, creative, and diverse producers of his time. His work as a producer (and in some cases as a DJ) with King Tee, Deadly Threat, Nefertiti, Ice Cube, LL Cool J, Del The Funkee Homosapien, Ultramagnetic MC's, Dogg Pound, Snoop, Too Short, Breeze of L.A. Posse, Run-DMC, Yo-Yo, Mixmaster Spade, 2Pac, and more, illustrates a resume that easily cements that point. And, his history as a producer is only a part of what he has accomplished in his amazing career. Also, super shout out to King Tee, who I am a big fan of, and it was his music that initially led to me hearing DJ Pooh. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/storiesaboutsongs/support

Incredible Bongo Band was the brain child of prolific film and record producer Michael Viner, put together in 1972 to supplement the soundtrack to the virtually anonymous B-Movie film The Thing With Two Heads. They went from a loose studio collective to an instrumental pop covers consortium, interpreting classics of the day in their own inimitable percussion-heavy fashion. Viner recorded 'The Incredible Bongo Band' at MGM studios during down time assembling line-ups from whoever was available at the time. Apache, originally made famous by The Shadows, is simply legendary in the worlds of dance music and hip hop. One of the most sampled tracks of all time it has been used by Nas, Beastie Boys, Moby, Kanye West, Sugarhill Gang, Jay-Z, Aphex Twin, DJ Shadow, Goldie, Double Dee & Steinski, Faith Evans, Ultramagnetic MC’s, Leaders Of The New School, UNKLE, IBM Nation and DJ Spinna, The Bizzie Boyz, Schoolly D, LL Cool J, 2 Live Crew, 4 Hero, Godfather Don, Diamond D, Luke Vibert, Sway & King Tech, Rebel MC, to name a few... Apache was a staple for the likes of Kool Herc and Grandmaster Flash as they invented the art of DJing at the Bronx block parties of the ‘70s. Over the years it has become a hip hop and breakers anthem and is revered as the break of all original breaks, with the rhythms of this LP even helping to coin the term 'breakbeat'

SOUL OF SYDNEY RADIO #140: DJ FRENZIE 'Tonic Lounge' Friday Mixtape (2000), a promo mix for the infamous house of funk in Kings Cross known as TONIC LOUNGE. Style: Disco, Funk & House Goodness. Time: 35 Minutes About The Mix: Our good mate DJ Frenzie dropped this mix tape a around 2010 for the infamous soul and funk joint TONIC LOUNGE. The club has been closed but they were the go to late night music joint for years in Sydney hosting just about every real DJ & specialist music night around. About Shan Frenzie / Frenzie has been around the block more than a few times. He's got well over twenty years of experience behind him, a record collection that will make any deejay envious, and a concrete rep as one of Australia’s most trusted party rockers. Taking inspiration from when DJ's used to play for no less than 6 hours straight and transition between styles: Original Soul & Funk 45's - check. Deep House, Disco & Boogie - check. Hip Hop, R&B, Breaks & Beats - check. Party anthems and forgotten classics - check. Frenzie has got you covered. His Groove Therapy radio show (now in its eleventh year) has been broadcasting weekly on 2SER FM every Friday lunchtime and has become an essential listen to all musically savvy Sydney-siders, while the podcast of the show has garnered a huge loyal fan base in all corners of the globe. A veteran touring DJ of the Australian east coast, Frenzie also recently rocked dance floors in San Francisco and New York - and has had support billing alongside a who’s who of DJ royalty. Infact, pioneering deejay Grandmaster Flash requested Frenzie as his official support DJ for his most recent 2013 Sydney tour (four shows in total) - and only months earlier, Frenzie could be seen cutting it up on the turntables on stage with New Yorks Hip Hop legends The Ultramagnetic MC’s. ...and it’s no small wonder - Frenzie definitely has the skills to pay the bills. In 2012 he placed second in the New South Wales heats of the DMC, the most prestigious DJ competition in the world (He’s last foray into battle deejaying was almost twelve years earlier). But can he rock a party? Frenzie has been dropping memorable sets for years. Whether it be a one hour power mix or an all night marathon set behind the turntables, Frenzie has plenty of experience reading the crowd and always drops an entertaining set - custom built from carefully considered quality jams and a dash of turntable trickery. Not only can Frenzie mix a record, he has definitely earned his stripes as the number one chief party rocker. Episode 43 celebrates some of our favorite things in life. So, it only made sense to title this episode Beats, Baseball and Brews. And who better to have a chat with about these things than the homie Murs? Besides being a dope rapper, he's a dedicated father, hip-hop historian, an avid wrestling fan, amazing story-teller, and now, proud owner of a new cherry & waffles stout beer. We caught up with Murs while he was dealing with an unpleasant stomach bug, but being the professional that he is, Murs stuck it out for over 90 minutes on the phone. His stories are fascinating. Whether he is talking about DJ Quik cooking chicken soup for him, Brother Ali being scared of shellfish or El-P throwing down in a Denny's parking lot, this interview is packed with gems. We also discuss everything from Living Legends, Def Jux, Strange Music, Warner Brothers, Paid Dues, 9th Wonder, Will Smith and the possibility of Felt 4 with Sluggo. Murs is a down-to-earth, self-deprecating, fun-loving guy, who is the same both on and off record. He is relatable, likable and extremely personable. In addition to the Murs interview music, we got new joints by Erick Sermon, Jack Jones, Meyhem Lauren, Vinnie Paz & Tragedy Khadafi, Ill Bill & Stu Bangas, plus music from J-Live, Main Source, Ultramagnetic MC's, The Beatnuts, King Tee, Ras Kass, Ice Cube and Phonte. Be on the look-out for his upcoming album with 9th Wonder titled The Illiad Is Dead And The Odyssey Is Over. Murs is currently on the road touring, so check for him if he is coming your way too. Thanks to Murs and to all of you who continue to listen, support and rock with Take It Personal!

March 17 would have been Sean Price's 47th birthday had the MC aka Ruck lived past age 43. On February 8, 2019, P's longtime label Duck Down Music Inc. teamed with Coalmine Records and producer Small Professor for the rapper's second posthumous album, 86 Witness. Produced mostly before Price's untimely demise, the album got its title when Small Pro and executive producer Matt Diamond (no relation) realized that references to the year 1986 kept popping up in P's rhymes for the project. Sean Price was 14 in 1986. Hip-hop was about as young. Sean Price's lyrics have always had something of a cafeteria cipher feeling about them. Sometimes his words make little sense together at first ("Dikembe Mutumbo, Feliz Navidad"), perhaps a testament to their being pulled out of thin air, but the rhymes are rarely ever left unresolved, and a perfectly timed punchline can set any verse on fire ("You buy Echo to get us free like Amistad"). Those types of lines also abound 86 Witness, as do features, so the cipher vibes are even more present than usual. In celebration of the album's release, to which Sean's widow Bernadette Price gave her blessing, Tiny Mix Tapes reached out to Small Professor to compile a guest mix featuring only instrumentals from 1986. Included are a number of classic cuts such as "Peter Piper" and "Push It," as well as some more obscure selections like Anquette's "Throw the P" and Faze One's "Layin' Down a Beat." Stream Small Professor's 1986 Instro Flow below and cop 86 Witness on Bandcamp or direct from Duck Down. [00:00] Doug E. This is my 14th podcast with special guest host Kwest Tha Madd Lad, a tribute to his cult classic LP “This is My First Album” released via American Recordings (Rick Rubin & Dan Charnas) in 1996. Aside from being a battle tested MC and one of the most original and unique personalities the golden era has ever produced, Kwest is just a good dude and humble hip-hop fan/scholar. We did this on a Friday night just vibin’ with some brews and trying to do something different. I’m not a big talker but I do want to start incorporating guests on my shows but not in a typical interview kind of way, so maybe we’re onto something with this one, at the end of the day we had fun so check the show featuring some classic material from Kwest himself along with true school treasures from Akbar, Wizdom Life, Grand Agent, YG’z, Ill Advised, Micranots, King Tee, Rok One, Shabaam Sahdeeq, L-Fudge, Milkbone, Walking Large, The Roots, Rah Godess, Ultramagnetic MC’s, Call O’ Da Wild, Da N’Credible Nigga Naquan, Truth Enola & Shadowz in the Dark. When you’re done make sure to go search for Kwest’s newest project S.P.I.T.R. (Smartest Person In The Room) out now via Mindbenda Recordings on Bandcamp and all streaming services.

We've made it to 99 episodes (!) and what a better way to hit that mark then with an EXTRA special conversation, only available on The House List. So who better to sit down with than the highly revered yet largely unknown Godfather Don. In what marks his first real, long-form interview - Don is extremely cool, affable and open. And that was mostly talking about music (we hoped and plan to get a more esoteric, next time)! He has been a personal favorite of mine for a long time. A lifetime resident of Brooklyn, we discuss it all. Picking up a guitar as a small child, to making beat-tapes with a guitar pedal. Many where introduced to Don's seminal work on Ultramagnetic MC's 'Four Horsemen' (Wild Pitch 1993) album, others with his actual debut 'Hazardous' (Select 1991). He had a prolific run doing the indie/underground boom between labels Fondle Em and Hydra, which resonates widely to this day (seen in the many limited reissues of his work). Yet all the while, Don has seemingly been shrouded in mystery. Now, Don is a actively performing Tenor Sax player around BK. He's recorded a new Jazz project, I saw him play - he's amazing. It's a fantastic transition into a different musical horizon. I highly suggest watching or listening, when you have the ability. I am needing to get our SoundCloud page to 100,000 streams - so please listen to this over and over and share/repost where you can! Thank you for supporting! Don's most recent re-release of the highly sought-after 'Status' vinyl can be found here: http://www.freshpressings.com Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
The Radio Boys (C.Truth, Kev Lawrence) were treated to an eye opening conversation with music business veteran Doug Young. Doug started in the industry back in 1984 and was not shy in speaking his mind on: Dr Dre leaving Ruthless Records and the dominos that fell after that, hanging with Ultramagnetic MC's and Hank Shocklee in NY, hanging out at Nell’s nightclub at the height of the model era with Tyra Banks/Kimora Lee/ Veronica Webb in attendance, what’s the key to any music of substance, working with Easy E at Ruthless before he passed, being an advisor for the Universal Hip Hop Museum, being one of the 1st writers for the Source magazine when it was a pamphlet, becoming a publicist/record promoter with no experience, how he got the Deep Cover record to pop off and what cities supported it, starting rap depts at Priority/Capital/MCA Records, why we call him Mr.Retainer, how he came up with the term "street team", making NWA's first album a success with no major airplay, and much much more. Episode 13 has no tributes, no interviews and it's not 6 hours long. We bring it back to basics and focus on the music. With new joints by Perestroika, Supastition, Conway, Hus Kingpin, Everlast and MC Eiht, plus 90s classics from Redman, Organized Konfusion, Ultramagnetic MC's, Big L, Diamond D and A Tribe Called Quest, we got you covered. At the break, we discuss The Defiant Ones, which kind of turns into a Jimmy Iovine slob fest, but entertaining nonetheless. Please remember to rate and review our show if you're feeling it. West Coast Classics coming up next!

TRACKLIST: J. My guest this week is Justin Barnes. Justin is the man behind the band Which Birds, and he’s also been a member of Nuclear Power Pants and (my band) Height With Friends. When I invited him to be a guest, he said he would rather interview me, so that’s what we did. This interview went down over three sessions. In part one, he asks about my early albums and my early influences. In part two, we talk about my albums Baltimore Highlands and Bed Of Seeds, and the collaborative approach I took to making those records. In part three, he asked about the sense of urgency he heard on my newest album, and I try to explain why it’s there. Mike Riley’s art this week is an homage to Critical Beatdown, by Ultramagnetic MC’s. This episode is sponsored by Lineuproom.com, and hosted by Splicetoday.com.
The BBR crew joined like Voltron with the 40th Anniversay celebration for the mighty Universal Zulu Nation in this episode. We shouted out Afrika Bambaataa and the Soulsonic Force as well as many of the participants in the weeklong tribute that recognized the many contributions of one of the tightest and original pioneers of the artform. With J-Crush as our guide, we pay tribute to the likes of Grand Wizard Theodore, Fat Boys, Ultramagnetic MC’s; Grand Master Caz; Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five and more Zulu’s and Hip-Hop pioneers . However, the din of activity from the newsroom was deafening. The roll out of Obamacare is still disappointing; DMX did get arrested again and the Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is still smoking crack. What the hell is that - an elephant? Nope, it’s Boom Bap Radio!
The Boom Bap Radio crew, minus J-Crush, tackle the Twitter explosion of outrage that came from Kendrick Lamar’s lyric and welcome back Cousin Ricko to the panel for a refreshing take on the social media firestorm. The Angry Engineer, the CO and Masta Talka give their weekly lesson on real Hip-Hop and tackle the firestorm over Lamar’s “diss.” We also talked about the week’s news: the Egyptian uprising against the Egyptian uprising; challenges to NYC’s Stop and Frisk, the attorney who leaked info that led to Pac’s shooting in 1994 and Ghostface’s top 10 list of softest MC’s. Hip-Hop was and is always in the house. The Fugees, Marley Marl, Ultramagnetic MC’s, MC Lyte, and 3rd Bass were all in the house. Yeah Uncle Russ, we twerked it like we were Harriet Tubman – No joke! It’s - Boom Bap Radio!
ULTRAMAGNETIC MC'S - saga of dandy, the devil and day (remix) FINSTA BUNDY - sunnyside DJ CAM - mad blunted jazz INI - krossroads WALKIN'LARGE - bag of chips (rmx) DREAM WARRIORS - times are changing GRAND PUBA - a little of this (stud doogie rmx) BURNT BATCH - black innovation BRASS TACKS - hidden insight PUNK BARBARIANS ft DONALD BYRD - the struggle CAMP LO - coolie high KEITH MURRAY - cosmic slop THE CONCIOUS DAUGHTERS - gamers LIL KIM ft BIGGIE - drugs NINE - redrum KRS ONE - mad crew SHYHIEM - shaolin style FAT JOE ft KRS ONE - bronx tale GANG STARR - above the clouds MIC GERONIMO - masta i.c. STREAM or DOWNLOAD On this hardcore discovery Mista Montana and Menace do this: Another Conspiracy classic interview in the form of DJ Muggs, who makes yet another appearance on The Friday Night Live Show. Fresh off the heels of his recently released Bass project 'Bass For Your Face', Muggs joins us on the show to discuss this and promote his upcoming "multi-media" collaborative EP 'Cross My Heart', as well as other projects including; his much anticipated album with Meyhem Lauren, which he describes as having a "down-tempo sound" and reveals that 4 tracks will feature Action Bronson, the brand new Cypress Hill project which is well underway with the revelation that 30 beats have already been made, an EP with Vinnie Paz, a recently discussed potential project with Alchemist, a new Soul Assassins project and more. We also talk the future of the S.A. brand, piracy and technology among many other topics. A must hear interview with a bonafied legend! With two current chart positions of number 3 album and number 1 Hip Hop album in Canada, Swollen Members are back and what better way to discuss their new album 'Beautiful Death Machine', than with King of pain Madchild. In this past meets present interview we talk about the making of 'Beautiful Death Machine' taking it back to basics, working with 'BDM's' featured collaborators, touring, the importance of Battle Axe Warriors in the lives of Swollen Members, Madchild's collaborative project with Slaine and much more in an inspirational interview with one of Canada's greatest! In what might possibly be the most unrevealing interview in the history of The Friday Night Live Show, the Sex-Pistols of Hip Hop Flatbush Zombies, join us from a van to talk ever so briefly about their past, upcoming project, of which no details are revealed about other than it is coming Spring time, their distaste for media, the XXL Freshman 2013 picks, legends such as Ill Bill, Smif-N-Wessun and Buckshot reaching out and giving props and.. little more! A very brief interview from a promising group with much colour in their style. Westcoast legend Planet Asia and master producer Gensu Dean stop by to discuss the creation behind their upcoming Mello Music Group release 'Abrasions' and plans as individual artists respectively. We talk; making 'Abrasions' and its creative process, chemistry, working with the many artists featured on 'Abrasions' such as David Banner and Shawn Pen who Planet Asia attributes as an underrated artist, 'Abrasions' initially having a different title and being signed to Mello Music Group. In addition to this Planet Asia speaks on the recently released Alchemist laced Durag Dynasty project, an upcoming collaboration with Melanin 9 and more, before shooting down the rumour of an alleged Madlib collaborative project. Beyond this, Gensu Dean reveals a forthcoming collaborative project with fellow Mello Music artist 7evenThirty and more! Essential listening. 2013 marks the return of the Ultramagnetic MC's with a brand new album and supporting European tour. Ever entertaining and knowledgeable, veterans Kool Keith and TR Love speak exclusively on Conspiracy Worldwide on a wave of topics, including the main event that is the new album and their upcoming European tour. The group’s reaction to a question regarding the alleged death of Tim Dog is both surprising and to some extent, shocking. Could Tim Dog still be alive? Listen to the end of part 2 of this episode for even more confusing evidence suggesting that hip hop may still have within its community the east coast hardcore legend himself. The man who singlehandedly brought back Conspiracy Worldwide Radio, commonly known as Kid Vibe, makes his debut appearance on the show to discuss his group Paleface Junkies and their history. We talk the dumbing down of hip hop, society and the need for artists to create their own world with their music. Check out the videos discussed here and here. Joining us on a "Rinse-out" Friday, High Focus Records returns to the show in the form of one fifth of Contact Play, Jam Baxter. The SMB vice-executive joins us from the luxury of his home studio to discuss his new group project, namely, Dead Players ( Dabbla & Ghosttown) and his upcoming collaborative project with Edward Scissortongue, 'Laminated Cakes'. We also talk his creative process in the lab on 'rinse out Friday's' and 'spack-out Monday's' , Boom-Bap Festival 2013 among many other topics. A gruesome feature oozing amazing revelations from one of Hip-Hop's elite lyricists. Don't sleep! AND THAT'S NOT ALL! In this 6 hour opus of hardcore hip hop broadcasting Mista Montana and Menace delve deep into the terrifying world of local news, including dangerous flapjack injury, sex in the floor and of course the inevitable pending danger of a cow's only communicative mechanism. Watch out for the outakes! Enjoy our pressure! Contact us at conspiracyworldwide@gmail.com
