On the 1st of April, 2024, a presumed Israeli airstrike destroyed the Iranian consulate in Damascus, killing 13 people. Amongst them was a Brigadier General of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Mohammad Reza Zahedi. In retaliation, Iran launched its first-ever direct attack on Israeli soil, firing some 300 missiles and drones at targets within Israel. As of the 19th of April, an Israeli attack had in turn been launched on a nuclear research site in Isfahan, central Iran.Tensions between the two countries are clearly running high - but has it always been this way? Dan is joined by Maziar Bahari, an Iranian-Canadian journalist and filmmaker. He has produced and directed numerous documentary films on Iran and Israel and is the founder of the news website IranWire. Maziar explains how these two nations went from partners in the Middle East to implacable enemies.Produced by James Hickmann and edited by Dougal Patmore.Enjoy unlimited access to award-winning original documentaries that are released weekly and AD-FREE podcasts. On this week's episode, host Caryn Antonini is joined by brothers and business partners, Shahab and Maziar Farivar, owners of the renowned Peacock Café in Georgetown, Washington DC. The brothers Farivar established the original Peacock Cafe in 1991 – a modest 6 seat restaurant and take out café, which quickly became a Georgetown neighborhood fixture, with Shahab greeting customers and Maziar preparing fresh, healthy foods. Seven years later, they celebrated the grand opening of their current location offering fine dining with a much larger menu and white tablecloths, yet still preparing farm-fresh, simple, elegant dishes. For 32 years their establishment and tradition has prospered with a loyal clientele of celebrities, politicians, Georgetown neighbors and everyday customers in search of exceptional cuisine. For more information on our guests:https://www.peacockcafe.com/@peacockcafeCaryn Antoniniwww.cultivatedbycaryn.com@cultivatedbycarynThe Cultivated By Caryn Podcast is a presentation of Park City Productions 06604 LLC ###Get great recipes from Caryn at https://carynantonini.com/recipes/

Global Product Management Talk is pleased to bring you the next episode of... Product Mastery Now with host Chad McAllister, PhD. The podcast is all about helping people involved in innovation and managing products become more successful, grow their careers, and STANDOUT from their peers. About the Episode: Today we are talking with Maziar Adl, the co-founder and CTO of Gocious, an organization that creates product roadmap management software. When I met Maziar and he told me about his company, I asked why does the world need another roadmapping company given the abundance of current options to product managers. His answer intrigued me because it identified a clear pain point that isn't getting enough attention. Then when I heard his backstory in technology leadership roles at Xerox and Experian and the challenges he encountered with product roadmaps, I was eager to invite him to be a guest on this podcast. As the title of this episode conveys, our discussion will weave together topics for aligning customers' needs and business strategy.
How does an engineering student from Iran end up dancing tango in Louisiana? In this banter I sit down with my good friend Maziar Amirani whom I met on the dance floor in Portland, OR almost a decade ago. Maziar is a prominent figure on the social dance floors across the US and in our conversation we discuss the circumstances of his falling in love with tango and how he manages to maintain a full time job while being a tango nomad.Join my private FaceBook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1281203268944812Watch this episode on YouTube: https://youtu.be/20nfqhSsrMA Questions/comments? A teenager in Iran during the 1979 revolution, Maziar Minovi experienced first-hand how disruptive the impact of politics can be on economic security. Motivated by this personal experience he would pursue a Ph.D. in international finance and economic development and ultimately find his way to the investment industry in the early 1990s, just as the Tequila Crisis was underway. Maziar shares early lessons learned from navigating the complicated world of sovereign debt, recalling Russia's decision to simultaneously default and devalue in 1998.Our conversation shifts to present-day issues and the work Maziar is doing as CEO of Eurasia Group, where he spearheads a team delivering deep-dive analysis on geopolitical risks. Advising some of the largest investors and corporations globally, Maziar has sought to overlay experience gained over 25 years in markets, asking always, "what's priced in?". First, we talk inflation and the resulting election turnover of political parties that occurs more frequently when inflation is high.We also discuss geopolitical hotspots around the world. Among them, Russia, China, and even the US. On China, Maziar worries that the commitment to Covid Zero will prove costly from a growth perspective and that debt sustainability considerations should not be overlooked. On the US, as midterms approach and the 2024 election cycle comes into view, he and team are concerned about vulnerabilities in the present-day framework of elections.I hope you enjoy this episode of the Alpha Exchange, my conversation with Maziar Minovi.
In this professional video, we talk to automotive expert Maziar Adl about how product planning in the automotive industry is evolving. Maziar discusses how technological changes are disrupting traditional automotive product planning. With the rise of electric and autonomous vehicles, automakers have to plan for future product lines that meet new customer needs and expectations. This requires more efficient processes to drive profitability. Maziar highlights several key strategies for automotive product managers to adopt. First, take advantage of new technologies like AI and data analytics to gain insights into customer preferences and anticipate future trends. Use these insights to make data-driven product planning decisions. Second, improve collaboration across departments and with suppliers. As vehicles become more complex, product managers need to work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure components are available and new products are viable. Strong partnerships and open communication are key. Finally, Maziar emphasizes the importance of a long-term product roadmap informed by a clear company vision. Product managers should map out product lines 3-5 years in advance, while also remaining agile enough to adapt to changes. A long-term outlook will help avoid component shortages and optimize new product launches. Overall, this video provides valuable perspectives on how automotive product managers can leverage technology, enhance collaboration, and take a forward-looking approach to product planning. By implementing these strategies, automakers can gain a competitive advantage and thrive in this new era of transportation. Staying ahead of trends and anticipating challenges are essential to success.

By now, chances are pretty good that you've heard the name Jordan Peterson, and already have a strong opinion about him. Back in 2016, he was the controversial Canadian academic who refused to agree to the mandated use of gender pronouns at the University of Toronto. This resulted in a massive debate on whether he was taking a stand for free speech, or simply a bigot who refused to bow to the progressive future. Since then, his popularity has exploded. With the release of his new book “12 Rules for Life” he has become a Youtube star and been called the most influential public intellectual in the Western World right now. On today's show, my guests are Patricia Marcoccia and Maziar Ghaderi, co-directors of the new documentary titled The Rise of Jordan Peterson. The film has just finished a North American theatrical tour, and is now available widely online. In this interview, we discuss the journey of making the film, the reasons why he is misunderstood by the political Left as well as the Right, and the mythic lens by which to understand his crusade in this cultural moment. My Guest: Harry Maziar Harry Maziar (pronounced like “Frasier”) is an author and philanthropist whose career has combined family, business, and community. He served as President of Zep Manufacturing Company, a division of National Service Industries, for 27 years. During his tenure, Zep became an international leader in the specialty chemical industry. As a sales representative, Maziar was so successful he was named the company's first director of sales and he led 2,000 salespeople who produced double-digit growth for 25 straight years. Maziar retired as Chairman of the Chemical Division of National Service, then a publicly traded NYSE company. Maziar jokes that he has failed retirement as he has busied himself with both for-profit and non-profit endeavors. He serves on various business and community boards, and has been active in a variety of philanthropic and social programs, including Junior Achievement of Atlanta, the Atlanta Humane Society, United Way of Metro Atlanta, and Kennesaw State University, where he continues to serve as the first Executive in Residence of the Coles College of Business. One of his proudest achievements in retirement has been completion of his book Story Selling: Sage Advice and Common Sense About Sales and Success. A passion project aligned with Harry's mission of inspiring and empowering anyone to pursue their purpose in life (and succeed while doing it). Articles by and about Maziar have appeared in the Atlanta Business Chronicle, and he has been featured on Delta Air Lines' “Flight Talk.” Maziar earned a BBA degree from Georgia State University. Above all, Mr. Maziar and his wife, Sherry, treasure their family. Their three children and eight grandchildren have brought them unparalleled blessings and joy. On the cusp of his rise to international popularity, controversial University of Toronto professor, Jordan Peterson, visited the The Dark Room. Illuminating as he was on a wide array of philosophical topics, some of which reveal a deeply troubling side to our humanity, there was no mention by him about an important documentary that was being about him at the time. Paul talks to Toronto filmmakers, Patricia Marcoccia and Maziar Ghaderi, about making that documentary, Shut Him Down: The Rise of Jordan Peterson, which premiered on CBC this month. The film present viewers with what life has been like for Peterson amid the major backlash he's received as a vocal opponent of political correctness, while also shining a light on his critics, especially the transgender community, who believe he is promoting hatred. Sensitive to differing points of view, the film shies away from being an apology or justification for either side. Rather, as Patricia and Maziar suggest, Shut Him Down invites viewers to thinking critically about the heated divisions along ideological lines Peterson's presence has created and, perhaps, a way of civilly resolving or managing them. Miksi sanotaan koivun hiirenkorvia ruotsiksi, kysyy kuulija. - Maziar Farzinin pakinassa on tarjolla vaaliläskiä. He kertovat, mitä nimistöhuoltaja tekee. Juontajana Merja Laitinen.
Hello and welcome to the Baha’i Blogcast with me your host, Rainn Wilson. In this series of podcasts I interview members of the Baha’i Faith and friends from all over the world about their hearts, and minds, and souls, their spiritual journeys, what they’re interested in, and what makes them tick. In this episode I interview Maziar Bahari, an Iranian Canadian journalist, filmmaker and human rights activist who was imprisoned and tortured by the Iranian government for five months in 2009. After he was released, he wrote his memoir called "Then They Came for Me", which became a New York Times bestseller and is the basis for Jon Stewart's 2014 film "Rosewater". In the conversation I ask him why, even though he is not a Baha'i, he has been actively campaigning for the rights of the Baha'is in Iran. We talk about his religious background; his thoughts on tyranny; why the situation for Baha'is in Iran is so important for the Iranian people as a whole, and how he went from being a journalist to being an activist. He shares what he learned from his experience in prison, and he also offers some personal advice to the Baha'i community, and a message to the people of Iran and the world. To find out more about Maziar Bahari, what he's involved in, and some of the things we covered in the podcast, check out the following links: * The Baha'is are the largest religious minority in Iran, and they have been killed and persecuted by the Iranian government ever since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. I veckans krönika ifrågasätter Magnus Silfvenius Öhman "karlakarlsveckan" i finsk public service-tv.
