Author and Former George W. Bush Speechwriter Jonathan Horn is here to explain how the U.S. viewed it's place in the world pre-WWI, and how everything changed in the 20th century right up to today.
This week on Breaking Battlegrounds, guest host Sean Noble joins Sam Stone for a packed episode featuring Mackenzie Eaglen of the American Enterprise Institute, who breaks down the true state of U.S. military readiness, how China's defense spending compares to ours, and why Pentagon bureaucracy is undermining our ability to prepare for global threats. Later, Maricopa County Recorder Justin Heap offers an inside look at what he calls a “crisis situation” in his office, revealing that outgoing officials stripped him of key powers, staff, and budget before he even took office, leaving voters with a “clearly broken system” and a power struggle that threatens local election integrity. And stay tuned for Kiley's Corner, where she covers the heartbreaking suicides of four officers from the same department last month—and the mysterious reappearance of Valery, the lost wiener dog who vanished on Kangaroo Island in 2023 and was spotted again this February. From national defense to local integrity, this episode delivers sharp insight into the issues shaping America's future. On January 25th, Pete Hegseth was sworn in as the 29th Secretary of Defense. He promised to eradicate wokeness from the military and has as his mission to revive the warrior ethos and restore trust in the military and to rebuild it by matching threats to capabilities and reestablish deterrence by defending the homeland. Returning to Crosstalk to discuss this issue was Elaine Donnelly. Elaine is president of the Center for Military Readiness, an independent, nonpartisan public policy organization that reports on and analyzes military/social issues. Since its founding in 1993, CMR has advocated for high, uncompromised standards in all forms of military training and sound priorities in the making of military/social policies.Elaine began by noting that the Biden administration made it clear from day one that they were going to pursue a very liberal social agenda/experiment in the military. They would take the transgender agenda to extremes that weren't even seen under President Obama. This brought the word "woke" to our vocabularies. She defined this as taking progressivism to extremes and posing it with coercion, even if it hurts the institution.Elaine brought her opinions concerning the Pete Hegseth confirmation hearings, how he's been doing on the job thus far, military readiness (including women in the military), Christian and pro-life groups targeted by the Army, access to the military by those with gender dysphoria, and much more including calls from listeners.

Hamas says it will stop releasing Israeli hostages until further notice, while Israel puts its army at the highest level of readiness. U.S. President Donald Trump signs executive orders to raise tariffs on all steel and aluminum coming into his country to 25 percent. Over 80 soldiers are on trial in the Democratic Republic of the Congo for murder, rape and other crimes against civilians.
I met with Glenna Goldis, a New York-based lawyer with experience in government, fraud investigations, and domestic violence advocacy, to discuss the recent executive orders related to gender ideology. Glenna, who publishes a Substack newsletter called "Bad Facts" about the so-called transgender rights movement, provided her legal expertise on what these orders mean for American families. We covered five key executive orders recently implemented by the Trump administration:1. The day-one order defining biological sex and restoring single-sex spaces2. The order ending gender ideology indoctrination in K-12 schools3. The order protecting children from chemical and surgical procedures4. The military order prioritizing readiness over ideology5. The most recent order protecting women's sportsGlenna and I explored the practical implications of these orders, discussing everything from school bathrooms to military readiness. We delved into important nuances around funding mechanisms, enforcement challenges, and potential loopholes. While Glenna expressed optimism about the orders' potential impact, she helped clarify their actual scope and limitations.A significant portion of our conversation focused on how these orders might affect healthcare providers, insurance coverage, and mental health professionals. As a therapist myself, I took the opportunity to advocate for addressing how "conversion therapy" bans have been weaponized against ethical mental health care. We also discussed the concerning trend of insurance fraud in gender medicine and the potential for increased federal investigations.Glenna shared her work with the Gender Critical Law Society, organizing lawyers to defend professionals who face challenges for maintaining biological reality in their practice. This led to an important discussion about the need for legal support for mental health professionals who want to provide ethical care without fear of losing their licenses.Throughout our conversation, we emphasized the importance of understanding what these orders actually do versus what they're often claimed to do in media coverage. While they represent significant policy changes, their implementation will take time and face various challenges through the court system. This episode provides crucial information for parents, healthcare providers, educators, and anyone concerned about how these executive orders might impact their families and communities. For help learning how to discuss these executive orders and other contentious topics with your trans-identified adolescent or young adult, check out my course and community for concerned parents, ROGD Repair. I've added a follow-up lesson on the executive orders, which teaches ROGD Repair students how they might apply the program's 120+ communication skill enhancing lessons to this particularly fraught topic. Elaine Donnelly of the Center for Military Readiness Center for Military Readiness The post 2133. The Latest Attempt to Draft Women into Military Service – Elaine Donnelly, 7/31/24 first appeared on Issues, Etc..
Elaine Donnelly is president of the Center for Military Readiness, an independent, nonpartisan public policy organization that reports on and analyzes military-social issues. Since its founding in 1993, CMR has advocated for high, uncompromised standards in all forms of military training and sound priorities in the making of military-social policies. Elaine has published articles on military personnel issues in numerous newspapers and magazines nationwide.--Under consideration in Congress is the National Defense Authorization Act for 2025 -NDAA-. A number of positive initiatives are part of the House version. However, the Senate version comes with a very controversial mandate. It would require that for the first time in U.S. history, young women would be required to register with selective service for a possible future draft.--Elaine began by commenting on the state of readiness within our military, how women play into the solution and the mindset behind it. She indicated that although retention has been holding steady, we've had a recruiting crisis taking place for several years. With so many trouble-spots in the world, she's not confident that the current administration understands how serious these threats are. Plus, they are misdirecting millions of dollars of resources to -woke- priorities and actually alienating people.--One example she gave was that of Critical Race Theory -CRT-. She believes that the more we teach CRT, both in civilian schools and the military, it only makes the recruiting crisis much worse, therefore she sees our all-volunteer force as being very much at risk.--Another factor is Diversity, Equity and Inclusion -DEI- policies.

An interview with Liz Clark, President and CEO of the Health & Fitness Association. And it's something that again, all these lawmakers understand while they're whether they've maybe gone through something personally, or their kids have gone through something personally, or somebody they know and love. In some way, shape or form. I mean, all of us know people that are having mental health challenges. So I just think we have a tremendous opportunity as the as the Foundation Board to be doing more. More ties to that as the solution, more research to that as a solution. Mike Slater has done it now! In an attempt to explain why Donald Trump "lost" women voters in 2020 and why he'll have them in 2024, our host goes over "girl math" and gender roles and a whole host of sex-related topics as they pertain to politics. You won't want to miss his wisdom on this spicy topic!Following that, Slater welcomes on Former United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert Wilkie to talk about America's military and if they're up to snuff compared to the rest of the world. You may not love all of the answers that Mr. Wilkie gives, but you'll definitely want to listen to this interview!

Did you know that the intent of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s desire for his kids to live in an America where they would not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character finds its foundation in God’s Word? On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we looked at the biblical basis for character as our guest explained how we can reestablish character as a virtue in our lives and the lives of our children. What do a firefighter, an investigator, a security guard and a networker have in common? They are actually 4 different relationship styles and we not only learned how to identify our own relationship style but also recognize and address our own behavioral patterns that may be negatively impacting those closest to us. We also visited with our friend from the Center for Military Readiness to take a look back at the catalog of good work they accomplished last year and the challenges that still lie ahead in 2024. Then we introduced you to an artist that has created 66 stunning portraits of Christ for a new Bible covering every Messianic theme in the scriptures from beginning to end. How do we combat deception and falsehood in today’s marketplace of ideas? We explained how to discern truth from falsehood and how to stand up for truth in these challenging times. With tensions mounting in the U.S. and around the world it is time to take a seat in our radio classroom as Janet and Craig continue to teach us how to understand the news of the week through the lens of scripture.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Today, we start our broadcast by looking at some of the big stories making headlines. We then take a look at some of the issues the Center for Military Readiness has worked on over the past year to help repair the broken parts of our military. Then, we will talk with an artist who has created The Illuminated Messiah Bible which harkens back to the handcrafted Bibles from medieval times. As an artist, he will discuss the beautiful collection of sixty-six original portraits of Jesus from each book of the Bible. Every Messianic theme from Genesis to Revelation is illuminated in spectacular fashion with a detailed treatise by the artist explaining the theology behind every brushstroke. He will explain both his artistic approach and his passion for the Word.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
