Hey hey! We're wrapping up another great season! Season 11. Thank you SO much to everyone who has continued to support and taken us to over 8600 downloads. We really got into the numbers this season. The topic of finance is so interesting, and the more I learn, the less scared and anxious I feel. While things are really uncertain in our current economy, I feel with each new wild thing that happens I'm surprised yet not surprised at the same time. Ya know???However I'm grateful for people who are passionate about educating others with the knowledge that they have, and helping put people at ease during this time of chaos. There are so many people who are desiring to learn more about how to budget, how to understand their finances to make big financial goals…. And essentially create generational wealth. With this season I desired to find people who were trustworthy, relatable, and most importantly lead or educated from the heart. Bernadette from episode 122 was the perfect guest to open up the season. If you haven't read her book: Crush Your Money Goals you really should do that ASAP. It's a great read, and super relatable. Monica from ep 127 shared her passion for helping people and reminding us that there are still people who are in government positions who are doing their best to help the American people.Julissa from episode 123 shared that she was inspired by her own experience of being taken advantage of and committed to educating herself for the purpose of educating others so that they can have the best information to protect themselves and make sure they are insured for the future. And Lupita from episode 128 is breaking stereotypes as a financial advisor that is relatable, and authentic, as she does her best to relate to her community in order to offer the best financial advice and present the best options for her clients.Araceli from episode 130 and Jackie from episode 124 are really seeking to support small businesses to that they can have financial organization and understanding in their business numbers.  And a huge shoutout to my returning guests this season, Rosalie from ep 125, as she spoke about her new book, Building a Beautiful Business con Confianza and the top risk for businesses being finance. And my amigas, Jasmine and Adriana from episode 129. They were awesome to sit down with me for a recording after facilitating workshops all day for our Latina Brilliance Event in March. We did a recap of our Q&A session for the podcast and the knowledge they shared was gold. I'll be coming back in a few months with season 12. I'm actually taking this quarter to do a complete audit of all my businesses and focus on marketing plans and prep for the end of the year & the future. I'll still be on Instagram, and will stay connected through emails, so I'll still be around as I prep for next season. Ok amigos, thank you so much for listening, after you listen feel free to take a screenshot to post on IG and tag @elevatinglacultura or send me a DM. You can also comment on our YouTube video if you're watching online. I always like to hear from people and how they resonate with the stories I share. Alfredo Cramerotti and Auronda Scalera are a curatorial duo specialising in art and technology, dedicated to bridging digital and contemporary art.We either speak over-enthusiastically about AI or in fear of its impact on creativity. My guests stand somewhat in between, advocating for a better understanding of its potential as a tool which they base upon their experiences with artists. The latter have always been irreverent regarding technologies since pigment was blown onto a hand leaving its mysterious mark on a cave wall… So what happens now, with the metaverse, AI and virtual reality? Are these new exhibition spaces? And how to they affect the existing ones? Our discussion took us to lots of places, amongst which the installation created by artist duo Holly Herndon and Mat Dryhurst, THE CALL for the Serpentine, which enabled spectators to interact with an AI who had trained with choirs across the UK; we talk about artists who connect writing with sculpture, performance, and new technologies, such as Ana María Caballero, (who just sold a poem in an online auction of Bitcoin Ordinals inscriptions called Natively Digital, for 0.28 Bitcoin or $11,430 at Sotheby's), and much more. I also mention the great Jan Hopkins, an artist and writer based in Sheffield.Cramerotti and Scalera both teach at MA IESA University Paris & Kingston University London. They co-curated the Lumen Prize x Sotheby's plus this year and the Art Dubai Digital Section 2024. As a duo, they form the International Selection Committee of the Lumen Prize and work as nominators for the Maxxi-Bvlgari Prize for Digital Art. While co-directing Multiplicity-Art in Digital, an online platform promoting women artists with a focus on diversity and inclusion, they spearhead Web to Verse, a project dedicated to fostering research on the evolution of digital art from the 1960s to the present day. This multifaceted profile has led them to speak at prestigious events such as the UK House of Lords' All-Party Parliamentary Group, the House of Beautiful Business, the AI House (during the World Economic Forum), the Riyadh Art Program for the KSA Visual Art Commission. In a world of interconnected complexities, where futures can often feel bleak, there's Tim Leberecht, founder of House of Beautiful Business, integrating beauty where we least expect it - business. In this episode, he shares how beauty goes beyond aesthetics and speaks to truth, alignment, and the reminder of what humanity is capable of at its best. Tim highlights the tension many organizations face: on the one hand, movements pushing for visionary changes in value creation, like regenerative economics, participatory design, and co-ops; and on the other, reverting to short-term pragmatism, cutting programs such as DEI initiatives - and, how all of this is inherently a political stance that the organization is taking. This conversation covers multiple themes - how organizations can avoid homogenization, especially at the time of AI; poly-opportunities to tackle the poly-crisis, decentralizing power, and much more. As the author of “The Business Romantic”, Tim has always encouraged businesses to actively design spaces for imagination, emotional connection, and alternative ways of thinking. He explores the importance of fostering rituals like storytelling and resonance inside organizations that can serve as cultural anchors and inspire collective meaning. Taking the example of how energy, mindfulness, and spirituality are now taking center stage in organizations, he states how often, qualities that are hard to quantify can lead to creating a holistic impact. He further advocates for businesses to use technology intentionally for optimization while ring-fencing spaces for human creativity, cultural diversity, and the exploration of “what cannot be measured.” This episode is not one to miss, as Tim explores what it means to be hopeful about the future, where we look beyond binaries. In this episode of Beautiful Business, Chloe speaks with Nils Leonard, co-founder of Uncommon, the creative studio behind some of the most thought-provoking work in branding today. Nils brings a profound understanding of what it takes to build brands that resonate—not through fleeting trends but through meaningful, lasting connections. At the heart of Uncommon's ethos is the belief that the best brands are built slowly, with intention and purpose, much like the greatest bands in history. This approach challenges the fast-paced, short-term mindset dominating today's market and invites businesses to embrace longevity and depth.Throughout the conversation, Nils reflects on his unconventional path—not rebellious, but one of deliberate choices to break from conformity in meaningful ways. He shares his insights on creating brands that people wish existed, highlighting the importance of authenticity and purpose. “You wouldn't meet a human without purpose,” he says, “so why accept a brand without one?” It's this vision that has made Uncommon a leader in the creative industry, building work that doesn't just sell but inspires. The episode also explores the intersection of creativity and technology, with Nils offering a compelling critique of AI's limitations. While he acknowledges its efficiency, he argues that the raw human experiences of joy, grief, and ambition are irreplaceable drivers of truly impactful work. This blend of human emotion and purpose, he believes, is what elevates brands from functional to transformative. This conversation is a masterclass in leadership and creativity, providing invaluable insights for anyone looking to create work that stands the test of time. Whether you're a brand builder, a business leader, or someone inspired by the power of slow, deliberate growth, this episode offers a vision for what's possible when purpose meets creativity.

This strange thing called ‘knowledge' has always been a battleground in educational conversations - for example, in lots of loud calls for “knowledge-rich” curricula! Personally I'm very much in favour of knowledge and knowing, part of the buzz of following curiosity and inquiries! It's just the KIND of knowledge and knowing that we have been conditioned to value over others that I have an issue with! Minna Salami has been deeply challenging this hierarchy of knowing through her extensive work and amazing concept and book of the same title, Sensuous Knowledge. Her work coming from the tradition of African Feminism is to trouble the hierarchies, not simply invert them. Minna Salami is a Nigerian-Finnish and Swedish feminist author, social critic and currently Program Chair at THE NEW INSTITUTE. She is the author of Can Feminism Be African? (forthcoming Harper Collins) and Sensuous Knowledge: A Black Feminist Approach for Everyone (Bloomsbury 2020) which has been translated into multiple languages.  Minna has also co-authored children's books and written content on feminism for numerous anthologies as well as educational textbooks. A leading voice of contemporary feminism, she has drawn over a million readers to her multiple award-winning blog MsAfropolitan.com. Her writing can be found in the Guardian, Project Syndicate, Al Jazeera, and The Philosopher, and many others. She is a frequent speaker and lecturer including at some of the world's most prominent institutions such as the UN, EU, Oxford Union, Cambridge Union, Yale University, and the Singularity University at NASA. She has worked as a Research Associate and Editor at Perspectiva, consulted governments on gender equality, written school curricula, and curated cultural events at The Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Minna is a Full Member of the Club of Rome, a BMW Foundation Responsible Leader and sits on the council of The Royal Institute of Philosophy and the boards of The African Feminist Initiative at Pennsylvania State University, The Interdisciplinary Journal for the Study of the Sahel, and is an associate with Perspectiva. She has served as chair for the House of Beautiful Business, a judge for the One World Media Awards, a nominator for the Prince Claus Foundation and the Princess of Asturias Foundation. This episode is a conversation with two experts combating our current loneliness crisis: Ron Ivey and Monika Jiang.Ron Ivey is a writer, researcher, and strategic advisor to business, governments, and philanthropies with a focus on social trust, belonging, and human flourishing.  Ron is currently the Managing Director of the Humanity 2.0 Institute and a Research Fellow at the Harvard Human Flourishing Program where he co-leads the Trust and Belonging Initiative. Ron also currently serves as a Fellow at the Centre for Public Impact, a global think tank seeking to re-imagine government and restore relationships between governments and those they govern. In 2017, Ron established a consultancy, Rembrandt Collective, to shape business strategies for trust, alignment and social impact.Monika Jiang, a second-generation Chinese immigrant, has always walked the line between feeling estranged and belonging. Her journey, marked by oscillations between aloneness, loneliness, and connection, has profoundly influenced her personal and professional life, shaping her into a visionary who senses what wants to emerge as we move closer to ourselves, each other, and the world. Professionally, Monika has made a significant impact at the House of Beautiful Business. Here, she helped build a global community of 50,000 members dedicated to a life-centered economy. Through intimate gatherings, writing, and speaking engagements, Monika cultivates spaces for dialogue, connection, and community, addressing loneliness as a personal, collective, and societal challenge. Additionally, she is a teacher in training with Humanize, an evidence-based program focused on fostering emotional and social skills, and she practices these skills based on social neuroscientific research at the Max-Planck Institute in Berlin. In this second part of our conversation, we talk about:The need to create cities with shared spaces The stigma of discussing the shame and suffering that comes with lonelinessEmbracing the discomfort of lonelinessHow AI and new technologies are shaping loneliness and belonging The connection between awe and lonelinessTo learn more about Monika's work, you can find her at:Website: https://www.monikajiang.org/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/monika.jiang/ Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/monika-jiang/  To learn more about Ron's work, you can find him at:X: https://x.com/roniveyInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/monika.jiang/ Linkedin: https://fr.linkedin.com/in/ron-ivey-0bb9a33This episode is sponsored by the John Templeton Foundation (https://www.templeton.org/) andthe Templeton Religion Trust (https://templetonreligiontrust.org/)Support the show

I have spent much of the last 18 months working through a concept to create I like to call a "beautiful business". First, for myself in my business and then in the Master Your Business program with Fuel members.  This is a business that doesn't meet some outside standard of success, but one that energizes and serves both your life and your customers' lives.I challenge you to move beyond the chaos and stress of early entrepreneurship which is necessary, but will lead to burnout and resentment if left unchecked for too long. Instead I want you to build a business that aligns with your personal values and goals and this takes you stepping into the role of CEO to build a solid foundation to scale.I am so proud of the 207 episodes over the last four years and I couldn't think of a better conversation than this one for the 208th

It began during a dinner he hosted as part of the House of Beautiful Business gathering, under the intriguing theme – How to Be a Stranger. We explored the delicate balance between having an outsider perspective and feeling a sense of belonging. What is your tendency? This conversation was a combination of an interview and a coaching session. We dived into fascinating topics that Michael often explores in his coaching career, such as: when you want to do something that matters - how to begin, the true meaning of commitment, and the dance between thrilling, important, and daunting. We're excited to welcome to the podcast Dr. Angel Acosta, an expert on healing-centered education and leadership. Angel runs the Acosta Institute which helps communities process trauma and build environments for people to thrive. He also facilitates leadership programs at the Garrison Institute that support the next generation of contemplative leaders. With his background in social sciences, curriculum design, and adult education, Angel has been thinking deeply about how artificial intelligence intersects with mindfulness, social justice and education. In our conversation, we explore how AI can help or hinder our capacity for contemplation and healing. For example, does offloading cognitive tasks to AI tools like GPT create more mental space for mindfulness? How do we ensure these technologies don't increase anxiety and threaten our sense of self? We also discuss the promise and perils of AI for transforming education. What roles might AI assistants play in helping educators be more present with students? How can we design assignments that account for AI without compromising learning? What would a decolonized curriculum enabled by AI look like? And we envision more grounded, humanistic uses of rapidly evolving AI—from thinking of it as "ecological technology" interdependent with the natural world, to leveraging its pattern recognition in service of collective healing and wisdom. What guiding principles do we need for AI that enhances both efficiency and humanity? How can we consciously harness it to create the conditions for people and communities to thrive holistically? We'd like to thank our friends at the House of Beautiful Business for sparking our relationship with Angel—we highly recommend you check out their events and join their community. This episode is the first in our summer series based on our thesis for designing AI to be a Mind for our Minds. We recently presented this idea for the first time at our favorite event of the year hosted by The House of Beautiful Business. We are grateful for our long-term relationship with the House and its founders, Tim Leberecht and Till Grusche, and head of curation and community, Monika Jiang. The House puts on public and corporate events that are like none you've ever experienced. We encourage everyone to consider attending a public event and bringing the House to your organization. We always meet fascinating people at the house—too many to mention in one podcast. During this episode we highlight Hannah Critchlow and her book Joined Up Thinking and Michael Bungay Stanier and his book How to Work with (Almost) Anyone. Check them both out: we are big fans.Stay tuned over the summer as we will dig deeper into how to design AI to be a Mind for our Minds.About Sonder Studio:We created Sonder Studio to empower humans in our complex age of machines, data, and AI. Steven Morris is a brand and culture advisor, author, and speaker. He believes that, at its heart, business is a human-to-human venture. Much of what people do, they do unconsciously. People make decisions with their heads but act with their hearts. This is true for leaders, employees, investors, and customers. Steven is in the business of bringing that heart, or dare I say, love, to the center of leadership and business. In fact, as he states: “There's nothing more powerful than a united group of souls ignited in a common cause with love at the core.” Enjoy his perspective and his story!
