//The Wire//2300Z February 18, 2025////ROUTINE////BLUF: CRYPTOCURRENCY MARKETS TREND TOWARDS NATIONSTATES ENGAGING IN QUESTIONABLE COIN LAUNCHES. POPE FRANCIS ILL WITH PNEUMONIA. FIRE BREAKS OUT AT DEFENSE CONTRACTOR FACILITY NEAR PHILLY.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Vatican City: Following recent health concerns, the Vatican confirmed this morning that Pope Francis is suffering from bilateral pneumonia and will be undergoing medical treatment over the next few days/weeks.Economics: Various developments within the world of cryptocurrencies have come to light over the past few weeks. The markets have largely remained unimpressive as the pro-crypto sentiments expressed during Trump's campaign have not materialized in the form of policy. Both the ($ TRUMP) and ($ MELANIA) coins have turned out to largely be very questionable operations, despite Trump's coin having a market cap of over $3 billion.-HomeFront-Pennsylvania: A major fire broke out overnight at SPS Technologies north of Philadelphia. So far the cause of the fire has not been publicly disclosed, and a one-mile shelter-in-place zone remains in effect for the surrounding area. AC: SPS Technologies (who's parent company is Berkshire Hathaway) is a major defense contractor, providing fasteners and various industrial materials/chemicals to the military.Southeastern U.S. - Snowfall estimates remain variable throughout the disaster zones recently subjected to severe flooding. National Weather Service forecasts indicate that the additional rain expected this week won't significantly impact flooding throughout the region. Nevertheless, severe winter weather is expected from the Ozarks to central Appalachia over the next few days.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In the world of finance, perhaps most interesting are the sheer number of meme-coin rug-pulls that have been conducted at the nationstate level over the past week. In the past, podcasters and influencers would create a meme coin (keeping most of the supply for themselves), then promote that coin heavily to drive the price up, before selling off their entire supply for a large profit. In the world of traditional stock trading something similar is generally known as a Pump-and-Dump scheme. However in the world of crypto a slightly more simple version of this scheme is known as pulling the rug out from underneath investors, i.e. a "rug pull". When it's a meme coin that is started purely for the joke itself and not taken seriously, it's bad enough since this is essentially just fraudulent creators scamming their fans. However, world leaders and nationstates are now apparently engaging in this practice. The President of the Central African Republic launched his own meme coin ($ CAR) on behalf of the nation last week. The coin spiked in value before immediately bottoming out, with most investors suspecting that the President divested at the peak of the coin's value, meaning that a President rug-pulled his own nation's cryptocurrency. A similar situation was reported last week in India, as a government official (with almost 400k followers on X) launched a token that he deliberately claimed (in a since-deleted tweet) as being India's official government token. The issue is that this was done unilaterally without approval, and complicated by the fact that India already has a national cryptocurrency. As expected, the ($ INDIA) token, spiked in value before immediately being flooded with liquidity (as the early investors dumped their holdings), signaling yet another government official with a large following that has openly scammed investors. These types of crypto-fraud have not entirely been confined to the third world, however. Argentine President Javier Milei has drawn much criticism over the past few days after he promoted a meme coin ($ LIBRA) which also turned out to be a very blatant rug-pu

Explore the rise of college bass fishing as a gateway to pro angling, the innovative AI dash cam designed by teens to prevent wildlife collisions, and the best days for fall foliage in New England. Join radio hosts Rebecca Wanner aka 'BEC' and Jeff ‘Tigger' Erhardt with The Bend Radio Show & Podcast, your news outlet for the latest in Outdoors & Western Lifestyle News! Episode 200 Details College Bass Fishing's Rise, Teen-Invented Wildlife AI Dashcam & Best Fall Foliage in New England Latest Outdoors & Travel News! SPORTS: RISE OF COLLEGE BASS FISHING College bass fishing has emerged as a significant pathway to professional angling, with top university programs like Bethel University in Tennessee setting the standard. The 2024 Bassmaster College Series, a key event in college fishing, has seen a surge in participation, highlighting the growing popularity of the sport. As college fishing remains a club sport, meaning it is not NCAA-recognized, it opens the doors for students to earn sponsorships and win prize money, making it an attractive option for aspiring professional anglers. Universities like Bethel have pioneered the sport, offering scholarships, full-time coaches, and extensive financial support, which have helped them dominate national rankings. As more schools follow suit, college bass fishing is becoming a significant recruiting tool, drawing in both male and female students from across the U.S. and even internationally. This rise in interest and investment is cementing college bass fishing's place as a key feeder system for professional bass fishing, shaping the future of the sport. The sport's expansion beyond the Southeastern U.S. and into new regions is further fueled by the involvement of Major League Fishing, broadening opportunities for students nationwide. TEENS INVENT THERMAL AI DASHCAM A group of all female high school students from STEM School Highlands Ranch in Denver has developed a groundbreaking AI-powered dashcam designed to prevent wildlife collisions on roads. Using a Flir thermal imager and an AI model, the device detects animals, particularly deer, on roadways before they are visible to drivers, providing crucial warnings that can prevent accidents. The project began as part of the 2024 Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest, driven by the students' desire to address the frequent and costly wildlife-vehicle collisions in Colorado. After exploring various solutions, young women chose thermal imaging for its effectiveness in low-light conditions, when most accidents occur. Their invention, currently in the final prototype phase, aims to alert drivers of potential collisions up to 500 feet ahead, significantly improving reaction times compared to traditional headlights. Despite not winning the national competition, the students remain committed to refining and testing their device. Their innovative approach has the potential to save lives and reduce the financial impact of wildlife collisions across the country. The six New England states—Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island—are top destinations for leaf-peeping enthusiasts. In 2023, New Hampshire alone saw 3.6 million visitors during the fall season. This year, the foliage season is expected to start later due to warm temperatures, but vibrant colors are anticipated thanks to abundant rainfall. Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine are particularly popular for their fall landscapes, with peak viewing expected around Halloween in the northern and western areas, and shortly after in the southern regions. Popular scenic routes for fall colors include Vermont's Route 7, the Upper Connecticut River Valley Loop, and Maine's Castine and Penobscot Bay Loop. Zhigang Peng, Georgia Institute of Technology Earthquakes are not frequent in the Southeastern United States (SEUS), but they do occur in areas with long-term seismic activity and in new regions with no clear seismic history. Most of these earthquakes have relatively small magnitudes (less than 1) and are therefore not well recorded by the current seismic network. Some are extremely shallow, with hypocenters less than a few kilometers deep. In this talk, I will provide an update on our recent efforts to study shallow microearthquakes in several regions of the SEUS using dense nodal seismic networks and advanced processing techniques such as machine learning and template matching. This includes the 2020 magnitude 5.2 Sparta earthquake sequence in North Carolina, the Elgin-Lugoff earthquake swarm in South Carolina that began in December 2021, and the rock exfoliation event at Arabia Mountain in Georgia on July 17, 2023. Studying these extremely shallow events may offer new insights into the physical processes of earthquake nucleation.

This month's episode features two rockstars out of the Southeast. Meagan Evans, Executive Director of the Southeast Climbers Coalition (SCC) and Daniel Dunn, Access Fund's Southeast Regional Manager. Together they have worked to steward and conserve some of the region's most cherished climbing landscapes. Most recently, the SCC protected a 58-acre boulderfield in northern Alabama known as The Citadel Boulders—an area that the SCC has been working to protect for nearly 20 years. Now the SCC, along with other major partners, are focusing their efforts on how climbing can contribute to broader conservation efforts in the Southeast. From Tennessee to Georgia and Alabama, the Southeastern U.S. is home to some of the most impressive and expansive climbing resources in the country. Within that area, the SCC sees thousands of annual climber visits resulting in a remarkable economic impact for the region. Climbers bring in millions of dollars in spending, supporting thousands of jobs. In the 1990s, eagles in the Southeastern U.S. began dying of a mysterious brain disease. Many years of research identified the culprit: a cyanobacteria that grows on an invasive aquatic plant called Hydrilla — also known as waterthyme. Fish ingested the cyanobacteria, and eagles ate the affected fish. Biologists are now working to contain Hydrilla to prevent more harm to ecosystems. Learn more about invasive plants and their effect on birds, waterways and more on this special season of the Bring Birds Back podcast.More info and transcript at BirdNote.org. Want more BirdNote? In this episode of the Deer Season 365 podcast, we're talking with wildlife biologist Jason Sumners about the science behind the odd whitetail rut timing in the Southeastern U.S. Jason studied the impact of deer relocations during 20th-century deer restocking efforts on rut timing while at Mississippi State University, and shares those findings in an easy-to-understand way with our listeners. Jason discusses why deer across most of the country breed in early to mid-November, how that differs in the South, and why some deer breed weeks or even months later or earlier than deer just one county over in states like Florida and Alabama. SoFi (SOFI) CEO Anthony Noto recently purchased $5 million worth of SOFI stock and then added another $2.4 million. Insider buying is a valuable metric when looking at a company, and Noto's large purchases are a clear indication of his confidence in the company. Why is he so bullish? And more importantly, should we be following in his footsteps and buying big for 2023?Noto has been buying SOFI stock all year long, but these are his biggest purchases by far. And they represent massive votes of confidence in the company. This is someone you want to listen to. Not only is Noto highly experienced on Wall Street, having served as CFO of Twitter (TWTR) and the NFL, but SOFI has also demonstrated strong growth under his leadership, with revenues increasing by 50% every quarter. So, in our opinion, his bullishness holds even more weight than a “regular” CEO's would. It's no surprise that we love SOFI stock. The company has been steadily growing revenues at a 50% clip every single quarter while mature firms like Bank of America (BAC) and Wells Fargo (WFC) are not. Additionally, SOFI's valuation is lower compared to those incumbent firms, making it an attractive investment. What's more, with several potential catalysts on the horizon, such as the end of the student loan moratorium, SoFi could be looking at outsized growth.Overall, Noto's purchases and SOFI's strong performance make it a worthwhile investment for 2023. It could soar when interest rates turn around, when the economy stabilizes, when the student loan moratorium ends. There are so many dormant catalysts here that could make this stock rocket. It's no wonder that the CEO is piling in. And we'd be buyers, too.But SOFI isn't the only stock we're bullish on right now – certain EV stocks have had our attention for a while. Lucid (LCID) and Rivian (RIVN) come up quite often, but do we have an absolute favorite for the next 12 months? We do. (Watch the video to find out which stock we're talking about!) We really believe that affordable electric vehicles will sell the best in 2023. The only uncertainty for us here is whether the company will be able to hit its production targets next year. If it does, this EV stock will sell tens of thousands of EVs per quarter by the end of 2023. And that simply isn't reflected in its current stock price. We think the stock can more than double in 2023.Something else we've been bullish on all year? Solar stocks. And lately, we've only gotten more bullish. The fundamental momentum in the solar industry is incredibly robust right now. For example, last week, McDonald's (MCD) signed a major deal to buy 190 megawatts of solar power to essentially power its entire U.S. supply chain. This means that the biggest restaurant chain operator in America is going all-in on solar for its entire operations. Not to mention, Meta (META) – one of the world's biggest companies – also signed a similar agreement to power its data center in the Southeastern U.S. Everywhere you look, there are positive news developments and really positive earnings from these companies in the solar industry. This underscores the stunning momentum the sector is feeling. We think it will only accelerate in 2023. This year, the world faces an energy crisis. We came to a fork in the road and had to make a choice: try to make oil and gas work, or embrace clean energy technology to power our world. All major governments around the world passed landmark legislation to accelerate the clean energy transition. Don't fight that trend. It will only get stronger from here.
This year La Niña returns for the third consecutive winter, driving warmer-than-average temperatures for the Southwest and along the Gulf Coast and eastern seaboard, according to NOAA's U.S. Winter Outlook released today by the Climate Prediction Center — a division of the National Weather Service. Starting in December 2022 through February 2023, NOAA predicts drier-than-average conditions across the South with wetter-than-average conditions for areas of the Ohio Valley, Great Lakes, northern Rockies and Pacific Northwest. “The hardworking forecasters at NOAA's Climate Prediction Center produce timely and accurate seasonal outlooks and short-term forecasts year-round,” said Michael Farrar, Ph.D., director of the National Centers for Environmental Prediction. “NOAA's new supercomputers are enabling us to develop even better, more detailed forecast capabilities, which we'll be rolling out in the coming years.” NOAA forecasters, in collaboration with the National Integrated Drought Information System (NIDIS), continue to monitor extreme, ongoing drought conditions that have persisted in the Western U.S. since late 2020, as well as parts of the central U.S. where historic low-water conditions are currently present. “Drought conditions are now present across approximately 59% of the country, but parts of the Western U.S and southern Great Plains will continue to be the hardest hit this winter,” said Jon Gottschalck, chief, Operational Prediction Branch, NOAA's Climate Prediction Center. “With the La Niña climate pattern still in place, drought conditions may also expand to the Gulf Coast.” Temperature The greatest chance for warmer-than-average conditions are in western Alaska, and the Central Great Basin and Southwest extending through the Southern Plains. Warmer-than-average temperatures are also favored in the Southeastern U.S. and along the Atlantic coast. Below-normal temperatures are favored from the Pacific Northwest eastward to the western Great Lakes and the Alaska Panhandle. They played in a trailer in the middle of some scary woods, slept on the nasty floor of a club, and blew up snack cakes on a dusty back road with Steve Albini. This was life in the 90s for Montgomery, Alabama, noise-punk band bert. Guided by the mighty Book Your Own F*ckin' Life ‘zine, bert had all the resources they needed to put out their own records, connect with people who loved music as much as they did, and play tons of shows throughout the South and Southeastern U.S.. Mark Coleman (original bass player), Glenn Grant (drums) and Jeff McLeod (guitar and vocals) got together for the first time in a long time to hang out with Mary and talk about life in the studio and on the road, confronting racism and sexism in punk, and one of their absolute favorite places to play: Lucy's Record Shop! In addition to touring, bert self-released two cassettes and two split 7"s, before Nashville's House O' Pain put out their 7" Ambient Doug. They went on to record with Steve Albini for two releases (1993's Quiet Positive Pump and 1997's Big Box Schwing) for Austin, TX's Chicken Ranch Records, who also released two limited recordings after the band broke up, and another for a one-off reunion show in 2008. This is a heavily researched and science-backed supplement, that helps to break down the anti-nutrient phytate. Phytate is present on all beans, grains, nuts, and seeds and any product made from these foods (pasta, rice, chickpeas, nut butters, whole wheat flour, cereals, etc). Without the enzyme, the above-mentioned micronutrients are largely unavailable for absorption, leading to deficiencies. Without enough iron, our body struggles to transport oxygen. Without zinc, our body's immune system is impaired and many enzymatic processes cannot function normally. This enzyme has already helped a number of athletes with better performance, improved energy, anemia, fatigue, and other conditions. Have a read through the research on the site for more info, but trust us when we say that this enzyme could be a game-changer for athletes when it comes to optimizing performance! Who were the Moon-Eyed People? The Cherokee described these people as having lived in areas of the Southeastern U.S. before they moved in. There was turbulence between these two people groups. They were described as short, with eyes too big for their face, pale white skin, and living underground, not coming out in the daylight. But who were they? Where did they come from? This is a great conversation about these people, ancient America, and of course some really wild theories. Please rate and review this episode wherever you listen to podcasts.Reach out to us with your own stories, tips, advice, critiques, etc!appalachianintelligence@gmail.comFollow us on Twitter at @AiAppIntelPodFollow us on Facebook at Appalachian IntelligenceSubscribe to our YouTube channel Appalachian Intelligence Support the show

Guest: Tony LyzaWhen you think of tornadoes, you probably think of a big supercell in Tornado Alley in Texas or Oklahoma or Kansas. However, the idea of a “tornado alley” can be misleading. Tornadoes in the Deep South are just as likely to occur and perhaps more deadly than in the Great Plains. Today's guest is part of one of the largest and most comprehensive severe storm field campaigns in the Southeastern United States. The field program is called PERilS - Propagation, Evolution, and Rotation in Linear storms. Tony Lyza, from the University of Alabama Huntsville, is here today to discuss the plan for the research and what scientists hope to discover.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Think about your recent hikes. Notice anything about your fellow hikers? About their age? That, maybe they're a little older than you might think? According to the latest Outdoor Participation report from the Outdoor Foundation, hiking is the most popular form of outdoor recreation for people ages 45 to 64. And it's not surprising that this trend would be especially noticeable on trails here in the Southeastern U.S. because of the number of older people who relocate here, sometimes to be closer to their kids who've moved here, sometimes simply for the more moderate climate. And even if these folks didn't hike before, the preponderance of hiking trails here proves an attractive way to stay healthy and enjoy the weather, especially our moderate winters. The seven states that comprise our primary focus area here at the GetHiking! Southeast Podcast — Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina and Kentucky — have a combined 11,500 miles of trail. In fact, more than half of the Appalachian Trail — 1,190 miles — is in the Southeast. Today, in an occasional series we call GetGoing Over 50, we begin looking at this phenomenon of older adventure-seekers, starting with a conversation with two guys who could be the poster children for the retired, but not relegated to the recliner. Bob and Henry relocated to the Triangle area of North Carolina from Chicago and Long Island, respectively, and are now more active than ever. I caught up with them at the start of one of their weekly outings together, this one an 8-mile hike — much of it off trail — along the Eno River in the Piedmont of central North Carolina.NewsWe promised you links, here are the links:For more information on the Georgia DNR Career Academy, go here.To learn more about the new pilot program limiting visitation to Shenandoah National Park's Old Rag, go here.

If they've played music in the Southeastern U.S. in the last 40 years, there's a good chance Wayne Bledsoe has interviewed them. Wayne's 35+ year career as a music writer has seen him interviewing the likes of Dolly Parton, Ray Charles, and just about anybody who played Ella Guru's in the 1990's. Wayne also comes clean on his beef with Steve Wildsmith, while giving Ben a sample verse from the rap battle that launched that beef into high gear.
Native to the Southeastern U.S., muscadines have a rich history and are packed with antioxidants and health benefits. This is the only grape native to America, while all others were imported. Its wine has a bad reputation as being overly sweet, but there is a resurgence in winemaking that honors its history as well as its overall health benefits.
Jay Pitts is the President and CEO of ClinCept, a clinical research company committed to providing clinical research studies to communities across the Southeastern U.S. In this episode we discuss the importance of community engagement, customer service in clinical trials, and true patient centricity.
The longleaf pine is an iconic tree species in North Carolina. It once covered 90 million acres across the Southeastern U.S.
Another destructive fire season has Western states searching for ways to prevent it. As climate correspondent Lauren Sommer reports, some answers might lie in the Southeastern U.S. The region leads the country in setting controlled fires — burns to clear vegetation that becomes the fuel for extreme fires. Covid-19 cases have spiked in much of the Southeastern U.S., including Alabama, Southwest Alabama and Clarke and Washington counties. Alabama ranks fourth in the nation for the newest cases per capita in the last 14 days. Louisiana is first, Mississippi second and Florida third. Hospitalizations are up and deaths are, too. Jennifer Ryland, administrator at Jackson Medical Center, shared August numbers from the hospital and they reflect the seriousness of the situation. Through Monday, the hospital has had 92 inpatient admissions. Of those, 41 had Covid. By comparison, in August 2020 there were nine admissions with Covid and in January,...Article Link
Michael Arrieta has had exponential success in his relatively short career. As a Cutco sales rep, he was the #1 new sales rep in the company during his first year. He became one of the top college-student sales reps in the history of the company before graduating from the University of Alabama. Michael's first corporate experience was with Wyse, a company which was purchased by Dell, where he was able to leverage his experience, effort, and results to advance to Chief of Staff in a short period of time. He got onto the radar of legendary Silicon Valley entrepreneur Keith Krach, and eventually moved to a role as Keith's Chief of Staff in the early days of DocuSign. Michael was truly one of the key players in DocuSign's meteoric rise to market dominance, and he advanced as far as Global VP before departing from the company recently. He was even named to Forbes “30 Under 30” in 2016. Now, he has started his own holding company, Garden City, for the purpose of buying and transforming service businesses all across the Southeastern U.S., bringing them new culture, improved technology, and increasing opportunities and benefits for their working-class employees. Michael is also the co-Founder of New Story, a non-profit whose mission is to end global homelessness. This guy is an absolute superstar in business and in life. Raised in Pensacola, Florida, and living throughout the Southeastern U.S., Eliza has grown up living in a conservative and religious society where girls are groomed to want to become mothers. Women who do not want to become a mother are seen as lesser than, and undesirable. Growing up Eliza did want a biological child like every other girl, not really thinking about what motherhood is actually about and just assuming something one would do one day since "you are a girl." It was not until her mid-20s that it dawned on her that she actually did not want children. Between reading stories from online communities for the childfree, regretful parents and sitting down with herself to figure out what she wanted in life, having kids was not on the list. Slowing down and looking back on her younger years as she planned her future ahead, a child was never really part of her story. The desire was actually never really there. There comes a point in life where you have to stop living for others and live for yourself, regardless of the mindset of the people you grew up with and live around. After getting out of a long-term relationship, Eliza has finally decided to put herself first and no longer waver to the desires and opinions of others. With a Bachelor's of Science in Agriculture, she has studied the impact of how human consumption and demand affect the environment in detrimental ways. She has done research papers on how the human population affects those demands and how the Agriculture industry is struggling to keep up with said demand due to land use tension between Animal Agriculture and space for humans to live. Eliza wishes to pursue a Master's in Marine Biology to study how Animal Agriculture, from animal waste to pesticides from water runoff affects the behavior of species in the ocean and in turn affects how these species interact with humans. As a Vegan and Environmentalist, Eliza wishes to shed light on how the human populace is an overwhelming parasite to the earth's ecosystem- something she doesn't want to contribute to. She believes not having a child is one of the most impactful ways to do this. Fuel that Fire!

I finished my BS in Zoology with a minor in Chemistry from Southern Illinois University in 2010. I did both my MS and PhD in Forest Entomology at the University of Arkansas, finishing my MS in 2012 and my PhD in 2016. During undergrad, I worked in the aquatic ecology lab at SIU helping students with projects that looked at aquatic macroinvertebrate community changes in relation to riparian vegetation management. I also worked in the forestry department on a project looking at cover crops to conserve native bamboo in the Southeastern U.S. Both my MS and PhD research focused on the ecology and management of a pine-inhabiting woodwasp in the genus Sirex. My research covered trapping and rearing methods, biological control using nematodes, effects of climate on fitness, and modeling predictions of invasive Sirex emergence to predict future interactions with native hosts and insect species. After finishing my PhD I moved to northern Minnesota to work as a forest health specialist with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. I worked a lot with foresters and wildlife biologists to identify and treat insect and disease issues on state lands in Minnesota. I also worked with private landowners, university faculty, and non profit organizations to do natural resource education and workshops. During my time in northern Minnesota I also taught forest health at Itasca Community College. In August of 2018 I started as an assistant professor of forest health at Clemson University in the Department of Forestry and Environmental Conservation. Twitter https://twitter.com/ClemsonForest As far as hobbies, I both practice and teach yoga and have had my own yoga business in the past. I love all things outdoors: I run, bike, kayak, hike, and anything else that takes my outside. I'm also very active in my community and have organized events like the March for Science in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and served on the Human Rights Commission there as well. A couple years ago I started a blog with a colleague, Dr. Molly Darr, called the Feminist Forester, which focuses on social issues in science. We write original content and also share articles and guest pieces through our website, facebook, and twitter accounts. My goal in the world of social media is to get people to think critically. I want people to think beyond the headline and see past the standard media hype that surrounds stories you see on facebook, Instagram, or twitter. Want to be featured? We are meeting with Barry Bodiford, CEO of 360clean, a specialized janitorial franchise. We are also meeting with Dennis Null, Area Developer of 360clean. 360clean Launches Area Development Effort to Fuel U.S. Expansion Franchised cleaning service offers eager entrepreneurs affordable opportunity for high returns CHARLESTON, S.C.—360clean, a rapidly growing specialized janitorial services firm, is ramping up efforts to broaden its franchise business throughout the Southeastern U.S. in 2011. The combination of its proven operating system and innovative franchise model makes the highly affordable and high-return 360clean opportunity an ideal option for eager entrepreneurs with two options, a unit franchisee or an area developer. The son and grandson of entrepreneurs, CEO Barry Bodiford pursued his own ownership dream by founding 360clean in 2005 and began franchising in 2008. At the time he was a successful and satisfied pharmaceutical sales rep, but he couldn't ignore the urge to manage his business destiny. Having been a graduate assistant coach for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks football team from 1997 to 1999, Bodiford learned the true meaning of work ethic. “I had never met a group of people so focused and so hard-working in all my life,” said Bodiford. “Emulating their behavior gave me the tools I needed to get my own business off the ground later in life.” Bodiford never thought a career in athletics could have paved the way for him to run a successful business of his own but that emphasis on hard work was all it took to hit the ground running. "Did I dream of having a janitorial service as a career? Of course not," said Bodiford, laughing. "But when I started researching business opportunities, I discovered that some of the least-sexy businesses are among the most profitable. That interested me." With a wife and two children at home, Bodiford launched 360clean while maintaining his pharmaceutical sales job.
