(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus Chinese pastor dies after years of persecution After enduring years of persecution, Pastor Zhao Huaiguo, founder of Bethel Church in Hunan, China, has died, leaving behind a legacy of faith and resilience, reports International Christian Concern. In 2007, Pastor Zhao relocated to Hunan to establish Bethel Church, with a focus on serving elderly Christians and those who had previously avoided the Communist Party-sanctioned Three-Self Patriotic Movement churches. Since Bethel Church's founding, Pastor Zhao and his wife have faced relentless attacks. In 2019, authorities raided Bethel Church, confiscated Bibles, destroyed property, and pressured members to join the Three-Self movement. Then, in November 2024, Zhao and his wife were detained for 10 days for delivering unsanctioned online training. Pastor Zhao died in his early 50s. Revelation 2:10b says, “Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor's crown.” Former Brazilian President Bolsonaro sentenced to 27 years in prison On September 11th, a panel of the Brazilian Supreme Court sentenced former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro to 27 years in prison after convicting him of attempting to overthrow the government following his loss in the country's 2022 election, reports The Epoch Times. Prosecutors charged Bolsonaro with five counts, including an attempted coup, being part of an armed criminal organization, attempted violent abolition of democratic rule of law, damage characterized by violence, and a serious threat against the state's assets and deterioration of listed heritage. Bolsonaro has denied any involvement and said that he is the target of political persecution under the administration of his former competitor, Brazilian President Luiz Lula. Trump honors the power of prayer In the United States, President Donald Trump announced the “America Prays” initiative in preparation for the country's 250th birthday next year. The White House is asking if one million Americans can dedicate one hour a week to praying for the U.S. Listen to comments that President Trump gave this week at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. TRUMP: “So, America has always been a nation that believes in the power of prayer. And we will never apologize for our faith, ever, ever, never, never. We will never surrender our God-given rights. We will defend our liberties, our values, our sovereignty, and we will defend our freedom.” DHS to offer $110 million of security to Christian groups The Department of Homeland Security awarded $110 million in security grants to faith-based organizations last month. The move came just a week before the deadly mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A Senior Department of Homeland Security official said, “DHS is laser-focused on ensuring the safety of the American people. Instead of using grant money to fund climate change initiatives and political pet projects, we are using this money to protect American communities—especially places where people gather in prayer.” Charlie Kirk's assassin's cartridges contained ‘transgender” ideology Law enforcement have found a rifle near the Utah Valley University campus where conservative influencer Charlie Kirk was shot and killed on September 10th. The cartridges were all “engraved” with expressions of “transgender and anti-fascist ideology,” reports LifeSiteNews.com. On Thursday morning, Steven Crowder posted to X an exclusively obtained email from the American Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) which shared internal findings about the weapon used by Kirk's yet-unidentified assassin. The ATF message said, “The suspect fired one shot from an elevated position on a rooftop in an adjacent building on the campus and surveillance video shows the suspect jumping off and fleeing the area on foot.” Law enforcement, including ATF, “located an older model imported Mauser .30-06 caliber bolt action rifle wrapped in a towel in a wooded area near the campus,” in a location that “appears to match the suspect's route of travel. The spent cartridge was still chambered in addition to three unspent rounds at the top-fed magazine. All cartridges have engraved wording on them, expressing transgender and anti-fascist ideology.” One person at the scene reported that when he was shot, Kirk had been speaking about “how many trans mass shooters there have been.” Appearing on Fox News, former FBI Agent Stuart Kaplan provided his analysis. KAPLAN: “This assassination was a very well planned, very well-orchestrated plot that was put in motion days before. This individual had a plan of escape, to elude detection of being out up on a rooftop, and also being able to evade and elude law enforcement after that shot was taken. This assassination of Charlie Kirk, to me, is indicative of a professional hit.” Charlie Kirk wanted to be remembered for his courage and faith On the Iced Coffee Hour podcast, Charlie Kirk was once asked a provocative question. HOST: “How do you want to be remembered?” KIRK: “If I die?” HOST: “Everything just goes away. How would you, if you could be associated with one thing, how would you want to be remembered?” KIRK: “I want to be remembered for, for courage for my faith. That would be the most important thing. Most important thing is my faith in my life.” How Charlie Kirk shared Christ with an atheist student Charlie Kirk, an evangelical Christian, spent most of his time on college campuses having dialogue with students with whom he disagreed.  As you can hear from this exchange, recorded some time ago, he did not hesitate to share Christ. STUDENT: “Are you a Christian by any chance?” KIRK: “Very, very much.” STUDENT: So, like, why is that exactly?” KIRK: “Oh, Jesus saved my life. I'm a sinner, gave my life to Christ, most important decision I ever made.” STUDENT:  “So, you believe the Bible is real?” KIRK: “Yes, I believe the Bible is true and real.” STUDENT:  “Why is that?” KIRK: “Well, I could give you the technical answer. There's never been an archeological discovery that has contradicted the truth of the Bible. And then, of course, the wisdom. There is not a truth of the Bible, that if you apply to your life, your life does not improve it dramatically. “And then finally, we have the most accurate and transparent, historically robust account that one can have, of the most important figure ever to live in the history of the world: Jesus of Nazareth. And the resurrection is the pinpoint of my belief that Jesus did rise from the grave so that we may live.” STUDENT:  “What makes Christian mythology real?” KIRK: “So, that's not mythology, but that is theology. If Genesis 1:1 and the resurrection is true, anything in the Bible is possible. You're looking at the greatest miracle. The greatest miracle is creation, and then the fact that Jesus rose from the dead. And I say, ‘How do you know that Jesus rose from the dead?' “Well, show me another historical piece of a story where so many people willingly died a brutal death for a lie. Every single person around Him had everything to lose, and yet they went to the absolute death, from Paul to Peter to James, saying that, ‘Jesus is Lord. Jesus rose from the dead.' “Not to mention, if you were gonna fake a story, you would not use female witnesses in the ancient world. In the Scriptures, it said that the women were the first ones to see Jesus Christ. If you're trying to fake a story, you would never do that.” 2 Thessalonians 3:1 was no doubt on the heart of Charlie Kirk as he shared his faith so publicly and so boldly. The Apostle Paul wrote, “Pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored.” Charlie Kirk urged young people to come to Christ In one of Charlie Kirk's final X posts this past Saturday, he wrote, "Jesus defeated death so you can live,” reports Fox News. Kirk was a significant figure who inspired millions of high school and college students not only to become engaged politically, but to consider the claims of Jesus Christ and live lives guided by faith. Turning Point has a branch focused purely on faith, called Turning Point Faith, "dedicated to empowering Christians to put their faith into action." Pastor Rob McCoy, who is founder of Godspeak Calvary Chapel and the co-chair of Turning Point Faith, said Charlie Kirk called him his pastor but that he prefers to be known as his “friend and greatest fan.” Pastor McCoy said, "Charlie never used violence but was threatened every day with violence by those who couldn't contend with logic and truth — and now they have done to my friend what evil always does. It takes away life." McCoy said, "Charlie did not die. Instead, he has begun to truly live. His life was secured eternally by his Savior, Jesus Christ. This truth allowed Charlie to face every threat with courage because he didn't fear death." Psalm 27:1 says, “The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” McCoy added, "All evil knows is death, and they derive power from death. Charlie lived for life and will be remembered for this. My heart is broken for his family — his wife Erika and his two precious children. Evil has not prevailed, and it will not win." American conservative social media activist Robby Starbuck said “Charlie's greatest achievement is talking about God to young people during a time when too many were afraid to do that. The result has been a revival on college campuses all over the nation. It's our responsibility to carry on [Charlie's] work now." (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Nigerian Muslims kill and injure Christian farmers On August 27th, when five Nigerian Christians went to check on their farms  located in Bauchi State, they found Fulani Muslim herdsmen grazing their cattle on the land owned by the Christians.  The argument led to the Muslims killing a Christian farmer and wounding three others, reports Morning Star News. Rev. Samson Habila, local chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, said, “We solicit that we all go on our knees for prayers to our loving God to bring this conflict to a swift end for the betterment of our land and people.” In a separate incident on the same day, Muslim herdsmen assaulted two Christian women and a teenager who were on their way back from their farm. Naomi Sabo, was cut on her hand with a machete, her teenage son was cut with a machete, and a third victim, another Christian woman, had her ear cut off by the Muslims. In a span of two weeks in late August, hundreds of Nigerian Christian farmers lost their crops to Muslim Fulani herdsmen who took their cattle to graze on them. According to Open Doors' 2025 World Watch List, Nigeria is the 7th most dangerous country on Earth for Christians. Of the 4,476 Christians killed for their faith worldwide during the reporting period, 3,100 of those Christians -- or 69% -- lived in Nigeria. Russia launched 800 drones against Ukraine Russia has stepped up its drone attacks on Ukraine, in its largest salvo since the beginning of the war, reports KGOU Radio. The aggressor launched 800 drones over the weekend — hitting the government building in Kyiv for the first time. Japanese Prime Minister resigns Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has announced his resignation.   Japan's economy is still hurting. The nation's real Gross Domestic Product is just now recovering to 2019 levels, after an extended 5-year recession. Japan's national debt is the highest in the world, at 255% of GDP.   The Japanese government's proposed budget for 2026 represents another 8% increase, year over year.  Indeed, 27% of the budget is set aside just to service the nation's debt. G7 vs BRICS The Group of 7 or “G7” nations includes Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.  BRICS is now recognized as the competing force opposing the G7 nations. BRICS includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates. In a BRICS summit, spearheaded by Brazil's socialist president, Luiz Lula, the mostly southern and eastern world powers worked on what they called “joint responses to tariffs and sanctions under the Trump administration and discussions on a multipolar world order.” Thousands of Brazilian protestors object to trial of Jair Bolsonaro Tens of thousands of Brazilians have taken the streets over in the last week, protesting the trial of Brazil's former president, Jair Bolsonaro, reports the Associated Press. He is facing 46 years in prison for allegedly supporting an attempt to overturn the 2022 election. Plus, Bolsonaro's opponents also claim that he encouraged a protest on January 8, 2023 that resulted in several millions of dollars of damage to the capital building. Brazil's Supreme Court is expecting to sentence the former president later this week. Bolsonaro was a pro-life president, and opposed homosexual marriage for his country. The current president, Luiz Lula, has committed himself to the pro-abortion and LGBTQ agenda for the nation since his election in 2022. 47% of Brazilians receive welfare In a related story, 47% of Brazilians receive a welfare check from the government. The most welfare dependent states are in the north and northeast of the country. These twelve states record more welfare recipients than jobs among their residents. The socialist candidate in the last election, Lula de Silva, won 10 out of 12 of these states. He only won the votes with three other states in the election. God is sovereign over all. Jesus told Pontius Pilate, “You would have no authority over Me at all unless it had been given you from above.” Company that profits from porn fined $5 million The Canadian company Aylo has been fined $5 million by the US Federal Trade Commission for portraying certain egregious forms of sexual sin on its websites (which include PornHub).   This amounts to a slap on the wrist for a company operating on an estimated $700 million of annual income. That's about 0.7%. The Federal Trade Commission has charged the company with allowing non-consensual and child-abuse related material on its websites. Democrats blocking all Trump's civilian nominees The U.S. government has come to loggerheads. Thus far, not a single Trump civilian nominee has been confirmed by a voice vote through the US Senate — due to Democrat filibusters. That's the first time this has occurred in the nation's government in a century. That compares to 65% of Trump's nominees clearing the Senate by voice vote in his first term and 57% of Joe Biden's nominees confirmed by voice vote.   GOP Senate Majority Leader John Thune is considering pulling the nuclear option, or a rule change, to speed up the approval process, according to the Daily Caller. Few Americans, Christians included, believe we are sinful American Christians are pretty much agreed on this statement: “Sin is real, but people are basically good at heart.” That according to the latest George Barna survey. The pollsters discovered that 82% of Catholics and 70% of self-identified born-again Christians believe in “The basic goodness of humanity.” And only 57% of Catholics and 85% of self-identified born again Christians believe Romans 3:23 — that “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”  Meryl Streep to voice Aslan in new “Chronicles of Narnia” And finally, Netflix plans to release the next movie installment of C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia story in November of 2026. Filming began last month which included a well-publicized street chase of Jadis, “the White Witch” last weekend. Brace yourself. Greta Gerwig, best known for directing the feminist hit film “Barbie” released in 2023, is directing this next Narnia release. Not surprisingly, Meryl Streep is slated to voice Aslan.  (The character of Aslan, Lewis's Lion, is meant as a personification of Jesus Christ). (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Russian pastor sent to prison labor camp for sermon On September 3, Russian Pastor Nikolay Romanyuk, age 63, was found guilty of making “Public calls to implement activities directed against the security of the Russian Federation,” reports International Christian Concern.   Despite the Russian pastor's age and poor health conditions, the court sentenced him to four years in a prison labor camp.   In a statement before the court, Pastor Romanyuk said, “Yes, I gave a sermon in which I touched on military, albeit forced, murder. I do not retract what I said. I set forth my personal view and attitude towards the taking of a human life. This is my personal attitude as a clergyman.”  Pastor Romanyuk gave his now-criminal sermon a week after Russia partially mobilized its forces against Ukraine in September 2022 at the Holy Trinity Pentecostal Church in a suburb of Moscow, Russia.   From the pulpit, Romanyuk preached, “It was written in our [church] doctrine that we are pacifists and cannot participate in this. It is our right to profess this on the basis of Holy Scripture.”  Svetlana Zhukova, Pastor Romanyuk's daughter, wrote on social media, “Imagine, Dad was convicted for his opinion, his position. There is no crime. Not a single person suffered from his actions. The state did not suffer at all.”  Acts 5:29 says, “We must obey God rather than men.”  Ted Cruz torches Tim Kaine for describing God-given rights as 'very, very troubling' Here in America, on September 3rd, the U.S. Foreign Relations Committee addressed the nomination of Riley Barnes to be Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor. In response to Barnes' introductory statement before the committee, Democratic Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia objected to Barnes who underscored Secretary of State Marco Rubio's assertion that our rights come from God, not government, reports The Christian Post. Listen. KAINE: “This is a quote from Secretary Rubio, our rights come from God, our Creator, not from our laws, not from our governments. I find that very, very troubling. … “The notion that our rights do not come from our laws or our government should make people very, very nervous, because people of any religious tradition, or none, are entitled to the equal protection of the laws under the 14th Amendment. It shouldn't matter what their religious background is, what they think about God or the Creator, what their church affiliation is.” Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, another member of the U.S. Foreign Relations Committee, took issue with Senator Kaine. CRUZ: “Senator Kaine said, in this hearing, that he found it a radical and dangerous notion that you would say, ‘Our rights came from God and not from government.' I just walked into the hearing as he was saying that and I almost fell out of my chair, because that ‘radical and dangerous notion,' in his words, is literally the founding principle upon which the United States of America was created. “And if you do not believe me, then you can believe perhaps the most prominent Virginian to ever serve, Thomas Jefferson, who wrote, in the Declaration of Independence, ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, and that they are endowed by their Creator,' -- not by government, not by the Democratic National Committee, but by God, -- ‘with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.' “I have to say, it is stunning to me that the principle that God has given us natural rights is now deemed by Democrats some radical and dangerous notion. Mr. Jefferson was right when he wrote those words. Government exists to protect those rights.” Christian foster parents sue Massachusetts for requiring them to support ‘gender transitions' A pair of Christian foster families in Massachusetts is suing the state for barring them from fostering more children based on their refusal to affirm gender confusion among kids in their care, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Alliance Defending Freedom is representing Nick and Audrey Jones, who have cared for seven small children since 2023; and Greg and Marianelly Schrock, who have cared for 28 children since 2019. Despite both couples effectively providing needed, loving homes without incident, the Massachusetts Department of Children & Families decided they can no longer continue to do so unless they're willing to affirm the gender confusion of future kids placed with them, including support for so-called “gender transitioning” and the use of biologically inaccurate pronouns. Their attorneys said, what Massachusetts is doing “is a violation of foster parents' religious freedom under the First Amendment as well as a reckless rejection of needed homes for orphaned or abandoned children.” Matthew 18:6 says, “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in Me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Jimmy Stewart's World War II heroism and his father's promise to pray And finally, do you recognize this voice? “Mary, I know what I'm gonna do tomorrow and the next day and next year, and the year after that. I'm shaking the dust of this crummy little town off my feet, and I'm gonna see the world: Italy, Greece, the Parthenon, the Colosseum. Then, I'm coming back here and go to college and see what they know. And then I'm gonna build things. I'm gonna build airfields, I'm gonna build skyscrapers a hundred  stories high. I'm going to build bridges a mile long.” If you guessed Jimmy Stewart, you're right.  He is the actor who famously portrayed George Bailey in the Christmas film “It's A Wonderful Life.” You'll be glad to know that Hollywood is now producing a movie about Stewart's life entitled “Jimmy” starring K.J. Apa, reports FaithWire.com. After earning five Oscars, Stewart felt somewhat of a “hollowness.” At that time in the early 1940s, the world's instability was coming to a head, with war clouds on the horizon. Stewart made a stunning decision. He had been a private pilot, but he decided to enlist in the Army Air Corps. He said, “I want to be something more than just a Tinseltown hero. I wanted to serve my country, serve my fellow Americans.” Stewart became a squadron commander — a job that involved leading thousands of men in bombing runs during the war. His father, Alexander, who will be portrayed by Neil McDonough, wrote a  letter which he slipped into Jimmy's uniform pocket before he went and that included a copy of Psalm 91, a Scripture which underscores the Lord's comfort and presence.  His dad wrote, “I will be praying for you the whole time you're away that God will be with you. You'll make it home safely.”  Jimmy Stewart kept that letter with him in his uniform on every mission that he went on. Providentially, the actor did make it back home, though he suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder after seeing hundreds of his men shot down and killed. By the time Stewart left the battlefield, he was far from the Hollywood leading man he was before fighting on the frontlines. An old friend named Frank Capra, a Hollywood director who also served in World War II, told Stewart he had the “perfect role” for him.  It was “It's  A Wonderful Life.”  God used that film to re-energize Stewart's career. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Museum honors victims of genocide against Jews in Romania The Romanian city of Iași hosts the Pogrom museum, which was created to honor the victims the largest genocide against the Jews that took place on Romanian territory, preceding the deportations to Transnistria and the concentration camps at Auschwitz, reports Evangelical Focus. The museum was opened in the former headquarters of the Romanian police on June 29, 2021, the 80th anniversary of the killing of over 13,200 Jews in the yard of that building. In a story which aired on Alfa Omega TV, a Romanian broadcaster, the reporter explained, “Jews from the ages of 18 and up, were summoned, lured into a trap by being told to come and receive a pass for free movement. Romania had entered the war, and they could not move freely without that pass. However, they were met by Romanian and German soldiers who mercilessly machine-gunned them.” Before the genocide of the Jews, they brought in several Jews to dig the pits. The mass graves in which thousands of those Jews are buried can be visited in a field close to the museum. In addition to those who were executed, over 4,000 Jews were loaded into the so-called “death trains.” Initially, they put 40–50 people in a wagon, but the stationmaster refused to “waste wagons.” So, he packed in up to 100–120 people per train, standing pressed together. In the midst of this tragedy, there were “Christians from various denominations and even a colonel from the Romanian army, who saved Jews in those days.” DC sues Trump over National Guard The District of Columbia sued the Trump administration on Sept. 4 over its deployment of the National Guard to the nation's capital, reports The Epoch Times. The lawsuit alleges that the deployment violates the district's semi-sovereign status known as Home Rule, whereby the city has jurisdiction over its own affairs but Congress can override its decisions. The lawsuit states, “In so doing, [President Donald Trump] has run roughshod over a fundamental tenet of American democracy—that the military should not be involved in domestic law enforcement.” In a statement to The Epoch Times, the White House criticized the lawsuit and defended the deployment of the National Guard. White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson said, “President Trump is well within his lawful authority to deploy the National Guard in Washington, D.C., to protect federal assets and assist law enforcement with specific tasks. This lawsuit is nothing more than another attempt—to the detriment of DC residents and visitors—to undermine the President's highly successful operations to stop violent crime in DC.” Trump asks Supreme Court to quickly take up tariffs case The Trump administration took the fight over tariffs to the Supreme Court on Wednesday, asking the justices to rule quickly that the president has the power to impose sweeping import taxes under federal law, reports American Family Radio News. The government called on the court to reverse an appeals court ruling that found most of President Donald Trump's tariffs are an illegal use of an emergency powers law. It's the latest in a series of Trump administration appeals to a Supreme Court he helped shape, and one that is expected to put a centerpiece of the president's trade policy before the justices. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit left the tariffs in place for now, but the administration nevertheless called on the high court to intervene quickly. Cheerleader charged with delivering, harming, & hiding her baby A University of Kentucky cheerleader is facing multiple charges after police found her dead newborn infant hidden in a closet, wrapped in a towel, and concealed inside a black trash bag, drawing reactions from activists on both sides of the abortion debate, reports the Christian Post. Laken Snelling, age 21, was arrested on Sunday and charged with abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and concealing the birth of an infant, according to the Lexington Police Department. During an appearance in court on Tuesday, Snelling pleaded not guilty. The American Association of Pro-Life OBGYNs said, "This heartbreaking and tragic incident is all the more painful as Kentucky has a safe haven law that allows parents to surrender their children, no questions asked.” Indeed, Kentucky's Safe Infants Act allows parents to leave a newborn baby under 30 days old at a police station, fire station, an emergency medical services provider, or a staffed place of worship without fear of prosecution or allegations of neglect.  In a video posted on her Instagram on Tuesday, pro-abortion writer Jessica Valenti was upset that police and the media in Kentucky said that Snelling had delivered an infant. Listen. VALENTI: “I really need reporters to stop using the word ‘baby' or ‘infant' until they actually know what happened in this case, because we don't know yet. We only know what police are telling us.” Oddly enough, Valenti believes that if a woman has a miscarriage that it somehow diminishes the value of the baby, and therefore, no one should call her baby a baby. In Psalm 139:13-14, Scripture quite clearly affirms the humanity of the child, no matter how early in gestational development and no matter the cause of death. King David wrote, “For You, [God], created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You, [God], because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Christian song “Whisper and the Wind” amassed 23 million streams And finally, you might recognize the name Bodie Kuljian from the 22nd season of The Voice back in 2022 when he won second place. The married 32-year-old singer-songwriter, who is also the father of three young children, signed with Provident, a Christian record label.  No Skips is his first full-length album, which releases today. The project comes after a string of chart-topping singles, millions of streams, and Dove Award nominations.  In fact, his song entitled  "Whisper and the Wind" amassed more than 23 million global streams, and won Bodie the grand prize in the International Songwriting Competition. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Sudanese police interrupt funeral service to arrest 5 Christians Police in Sudan disrupted a funeral prayer meeting last month to arrest five Christians. The Christians are South Sudanese. Police have been targeting Ethiopian and South Sudanese nationals for deportation as civil war rages in Sudan. Muslim extremists in the country are also calling for officials to arrest South Sudanese Christians in particular.  A local church leader told Morning Star News, “There is a growing fear among the South Sudanese Christians. So, they remain indoors in order to avoid being arrested.” Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ in Sudan. The Northeast African nation is ranked fifth on the Open Doors World Watch List of the most difficult countries to be a Christian.  Sudanese landslide killed 1,000 people Speaking of Sudan, the country suffered one of its worst natural disasters in recent history.  On Sunday, a landslide wiped out the village of Tarasin in the western region of Darfur. Only one person survived, leaving an estimated 1,000 people dead. The landslide came after weeks of heavy rainfall in the mountainous region. Getting aid to the area is already difficult due to the ongoing civil war. In recent years, Sudan's conflict has generated what is considered the world's largest humanitarian crisis.  25.9 million digital Bible downloads in 2024 The United Bible Societies Fellowship reached 240 countries and territories with millions of copies of the Bible last year. The Fellowship of Bible Societies facilitated 25.9 million digital Bible downloads in 2024. This outpaced full Bible printings for the first time. The fellowship distributed 22.5 million printed Bibles last year. It also distributed 8.6 million printed New Testaments and over 118 million printed portions of Scripture.  Brazil led the way in printed and digital distribution, followed by India, China, Nigeria, and the Philippines.  Brazilian homeschool mom lost her case in court Earlier this week, a Brazilian court heard a case of a mom prosecuted for homeschooling her son.   Regiane Cichelero was facing fines of $20,000 and threats of losing custody of her child, for daring to choose home education on religious grounds.   Alliance Defending Freedom International has taken up the case. Her legal counsel, Julio Pohl, points out that “No parent should fear state punishment for choosing to homeschool their child. Regiane made a lawful and conscientious decision to teach her son at home. We are hopeful that the court will affirm her rights and take an important step toward protecting parental rights in Brazil.”   Sadly, Cichelero lost the case.  She was ordered to re-enroll her child in Brazilian public school and ordered to pay the equivalent of $20,000 for not complying. She said, “We will take the case to the Supreme Federal Court and from there, if we continue to receive a ‘no,' we will take it to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.” She had a special message for the Christian homeschoolers who have been praying for her. Cichelero said, “To you who prayed, my sincere thanks. Remember, prayers never return empty. The Lord is sovereign over all things. The Lord has called us for this time, for this cause, for this moment. We are writing history. … He is still the God who controls everything. He has not abandoned us!” US military strike kills 11 Venezuelan terrorists in boat with narcotics The United States conducted a military strike on Tuesday on a drug boat from Venezuela. On Truth Social, President Trump wrote, “The strike occurred while the terrorists were at sea in International waters transporting illegal narcotics, heading to the United States. The strike resulted in 11 terrorists killed in action.” Listen to comments from President Trump. TRUMP: “On the boat, you had massive amounts of drugs. We have tapes of them speaking. It was massive amounts of drugs coming into our country to kill a lot of people. Everybody fully understands that. In fact, you see it, you see the bags of drugs all over the boat. And they were hit obviously. They won't be doing it again. And I think a lot of other people won't be doing it again when they watch that tape. We have to protect our country, and we're going to.” President Trump said the terrorists belonged to Tren de Aragua. The Venezuelan gang is responsible for mass murder, drug trafficking, sex trafficking, and acts of violence.  Trump supports Christian pregnancy centers The Trump administration is supporting Christian pregnancy centers in New Jersey in a case before the U.S. Supreme Court. First Choice Women's Resource Centers is challenging New Jersey's unconstitutional investigation into its operations. Erin Hawley, Senior Counsel with Alliance Defending Freedom, said, “New Jersey's attorney general is targeting First Choice—a ministry that provides parenting classes, free ultrasounds, baby clothes, and more to its community—simply because of its pro-life views. The Constitution protects First Choice and its donors from demands by a hostile state official to disclose their identities.” 50% of Congress are people of Biblical principle The Christian Employers Alliance released their new report card on U.S. Congressional leaders. The index scores lawmakers on a 0-to-100 scale based on their alignment with Biblical principles. Republicans tended to score better than Democrats. Of the 535 members of Congress, half scored 50% or better. Margaret Luculano is the president of the Christian Employers Alliance. She told the Washington Examiner, “Our faith is the foundation of how we live and lead, and lawmakers need that same compass as they face complex policies. That's why we launched the Biblical Business Index — a first-of-its-kind tool bringing together theologians and policy experts to connect Scripture with today's legislation.” Wisdom says in Proverbs 8:15, “By me kings reign, and rulers decree justice.” Gen Z & Millennials attend church more often than older Americans And finally, the Barna Group released new research from its ongoing State of the Church initiative. The report found Christians from younger generations are attending church more frequently than before. They also attend more often than Christians from older generations.  Churchgoers from Gen Z attend 1.9 times per month, while Millennials attend 1.8 times per month. The average for U.S. churched adults is 1.6 per month. Also, Gen Z and Millennial churchgoers attend nearly twice as much as they did in 2020. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Turkish persecution of Christians heats up The Turkish Association of Protestant Churches reports Christians in Turkey faced increased persecution last year. The persecution often came in the form of hateful speech either in person or online. And, iIn two cases, assailants fired guns at church buildings.  Turkey also banned many foreign Christians from entering the country in recent years. Nine of these Christians appealed the ban. However, a court ruled against them and published their names. Media outlets branded the Christians as enemies of the state. Many social media comments called for them to be put to death. Turkey is ranked 45th on the Open Doors' World Watch List of the most difficult countries worldwide to be a Christian.  2.5 million acres of European Union burned The European Union is experiencing its worst wildfire season since records began in 2006. Nearly 2.5 million acres of land have burned so far this year. Spain and Portugal account for over two-thirds of that area. Between the two countries, over 1.5 million acres have burned with much of it happening in just two weeks. Birth rates in England and Wales continue to fall The U.K. Office for National Statistics reported last week that birth rates fell to a new low in England and Wales. Other developed countries are also seeing low birth rates like the United States, France, and Italy. However, there appears to be a political gap in fertility. John Burn-Murdoch of the Financial Times wrote, “From the US to Europe and beyond, people who identify as conservative are having almost as many children as they were decades ago. The decline is overwhelmingly among those on the progressive left, in effect nudging each successive generation's politics further to the right.” Quebec, Canada to ban public prayers Quebec, Canada's largest province, is planning to ban public prayer. Quebec's Secularism Minister Jean-François Roberge said, “The premier of Quebec has given me the mandate to strengthen secularism . . . This fall, we will therefore introduce a bill to strengthen secularism in Quebec, in particular by banning street prayers.” The move comes in response to Muslim prayer gatherings. The latest ruling allows her case against the university to move forward.  Kayla Toney, counsel at First Liberty Institute, said, “Today's decision is a reckoning for institutions that discriminate and punish caring people of faith.” Bill Gates funds embalming of deceased newborns to harvest organs Modernity News reports the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is funding a new gruesome project. The project involves embalming deceased newborn babies who died in neonatal intensive care units. Researchers would harvest tissues and organs from the babies for artificial intelligence development. LifeNews noted, “The Gates Foundation's involvement is seen as particularly troubling given its history of funding abortion.” 150th anniversary of Japan Bible Society And finally, the Japan Bible Society is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. In the 1870s, American and European Bible societies established branches in Japan. These early Bible societies translated the Scriptures into Japanese in the 1880s. Their work laid the foundation for the current Japan Bible Society. Bible distribution in Japan picked up in the 1940s as 2.3 million copies of the Bible were distributed. This time for a 16-year-old Christian girl kidnapped and forced into sex slavery by a Muslim in the Punjab district. She was rescued by court order on August 14th. This is just one of thousands of these cases occurring each year, where girls and women are kidnapped and forced into conversions, marriages, and prostitution. Pakistan is the seventh worst nation in the world on The Worldview's International Morality Index, and the eighth worst on Open Doors' World Watch List. Finnish politician tried third time for condemning perversion A Finnish Member of Parliament, Päivi Räsänen, is back in court this month, after already being acquitted twice for the so-called hate crime of calling homosexual relationships “sinful.” Räsänen has been charged with “agitation against a minority group” under the Finnish criminal code addressing “war crimes and crimes against humanity.” She's been under attack for seven years. This time the prosecutor is taking the case to Finland's Supreme Court. Afghanistan earthquake claims 800 lives In God's providence, Afghanistan has been hit by a third major earthquake since the Taliban took over, reports Reuters. This has claimed 800 lives and wounded 2,800 more, mostly in the Kunar Province. The 2022 quake killed over 1,000 people and the 2023 quake killed over 2,000 people. Russia's Putin, India's Modi and China's Jinping met in summit The new Axis power base was further solidified yesterday in a meeting which took place in Tianjin, China, with the presidents of China, India, and Russia — Presidents Xi Jinping, Narendra Modi, and Vladimir Putin. This was Modi's first visit to China in seven years. Modi expressed his desire to Putin that the two nations deepen cooperation “in all sectors.”  The meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization boasts “the world's largest regional organization” including nations with a combined economic output of nearly $30 trillion. That's just over the United States' annual Gross Domestic Product. Russia's Putin called the alliance the beginnings of a “new system” of security in Eurasia.  The Shanghai Cooperation Organization consists of the communist, Hindu, and Islamic states of Russia, Belarus, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Chinese Navy boasts more warships than America The BBC reports that the Chinese Navy has exceeded America's Navy in number of warships -- 234 to 219. However, the Chinese are still behind the United States in overall tonnage and aircraft carriers.  Importantly, the Chinese shipyards have upwards of 200 times the ship-building capacity of America at this point. Brazilian socialists want to lock up Jair Bolsonaro Socialist elements in the Brazilian government are looking at locking up the nation's previous president Jair Bolsonaro for 30 years. Bolsonaro is accused of staging a coup after disagreeing with the election results in January of 2023.   The Associated Press reports that the evidence includes “an unsigned document that sought to invalidate the election and his alleged push for supporters to destroy government buildings in Brasilia on January 8, 2023.”  Low Scottish birth rate Scotland's birth rate is the lowest on record — hitting 1.23 children per woman. The nation's abortion rate is 17.9 per 1,000 women. Out of 50 countries, that's the fifth lowest birth rate in Europe. Only Malta, Spain, Lithuania, and Italy have lower birth rates.  Deuteronomy 7:12 and 14a makes a promise to a nation. “Because you listen to these judgments, and keep and do them. …You shall be blessed above all peoples; there shall not be a male or female barren among you or among your livestock.” Not so much for Scotland. Vice President JD Vance defends prayer U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance defended prayer as a proper response to the recent massacre at the Minneapolis, Minnesota Catholic School. His X post explained that, “We pray because our hearts are broken. We pray because we know God listens. We pray because we know that God works in mysterious ways, and can inspire us to further action.” Vance was responding to Jen Psaki, Joe Biden's previous press secretary, who skeptically asserted that “Prayer is not freaking enough. Prayers does [sic] not end school shootings. Prayers do not make parents feel safe sending their kids to school. Prayer does not bring these kids back.” In addition to Vice President Vance, CNN's conservative commentator Scott Jennings defended prayer as well. Listen. JENNINGS: “I think it's wrong, frankly, to vilify or attack people of faith. I think ‘thoughts and prayers' are the most solid on days of tragedy for people who live their faith every day. And I think on a day like today, particularly in a church community, there are probably people praying harder for comfort today than they have ever prayed in their life. “And I heard others on the Left today go down this line of attack against people of faith, sort of denigrating the idea that they might want to pray today.” Proverbs 28:9 reminds us that “If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.” And Proverbs 15:29 says, “The LORD is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.” Chip and Joanna Gaines roll out “LGBTQ roller skating show” The reality show pop-star couple and known-to- be professing Christians, Chip Gaines and his wife, Joanna, are under fire again. This time, they are producing a program on their Magnolia Network featuring what has been termed “an LGBTQ+ roller skating reality show” called “Roller Jam.” Joanna Gaines called it “a show the whole family can watch together,” according to Protestia and FaithWire.  Office mortgages hit record 11.7% delinquency rate In economic news, delinquency rates on office mortgages in the United States have hit a record 11.7%, exceeding the last record set during the 2008 recession. That delinquency rate was only 1.6% just two years ago. Silver and gold keep climbing According to TradingView.com, silver surged to $40.76 per ounce and gold hit $3,475 per ounce on Monday — record highs for the metals. Married mothers happier than childless single women And finally, no surprise here. The Institute for Family Studies surveyed 3,000 women and found that married mothers were more likely to enjoy life.   The report documented that 47% of married mothers say their lives are enjoyable most or all the time, compared to 34% of unmarried, childless women who say the same thing. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Muslims dress up as Christian cleric and choir members before killing In a chilling new tactic, Muslim rebels from the Allied Democratic Forces in Congo, Africa, disguised themselves as church officials and choristers before launching a recent fatal attack on Mayi Moya village in Beni Territory,  reports International Christian Concern. The Muslims killed three civilians and kidnapped eight. The attackers reportedly began their August 13 mission in Ngite village earlier in the morning, where they raided a church, stole clerical robes and choir garments, and posed as members of a religious delegation. One church official said, “They came into our church and stole the robes of our priests and choir; they then put them on, posing as a delegation from another church. It was a devilish plan. To use the very symbols of worship to deceive and destroy is beyond evil. My heart breaks for those who trusted them, thinking they came in peace.” When the group arrived in the village around 7:05 p.m., villagers welcomed them warmly, believing they were part of a church mission. Survivor Jean-Philip Mboosa recalled, “I thought initially that they genuinely were from a church. They greeted us with smiles and songs, and it looked so real. But when I went closer, I noticed guns hidden beneath the robes. That's when my heart sank. I knew we had been tricked. I walked quietly back and then ran into the bush, praying God would protect me.” In light of this story, Matthew 7:17 takes on a new connotation. “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” President Trump fired Fed Reserve Board member Lisa Cook President Donald Trump fired Lisa Cook, a member of the board of governors for the U.S. Federal Reserve. In a post on Truth Social a week ago Monday, Trump cited a criminal referral presented to Attorney General Pam Bondi on August 15, alleging that Cook made “false statements on one or more mortgage agreements.” The president went on to say, “The American people must be able to have full confidence in the honesty of the members entrusted with setting policy and overseeing the Federal Reserve. In light of your deceitful and potentially criminal conduct in a financial matter, they cannot and I do not have such confidence in your integrity.”  Should Trump prevail in the legal case, his nominees would have the power to deliver Trump the rate cuts he has demanded.  Right now, the range is 4.2%-4.5%. The president would like to see the rate cut to 1%. CDC staff who Kennedy fired were promoting abortion After President Trump fired CDC Director Susan Monarez when she refused to resign, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. defended the leadership overhaul at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in an August 29th interview on “Fox & Friends,” reports LifeNews.com. KENNEDY: “The CDC has problems. We saw the misinformation coming out of COVID. They got the testing wrong. They got the social distancing [wrong], the masks [wrong], the school closures that did so much harm to the American people. “Today, on CDC's website right now, they list the 10 greatest advances in medical science, and one of them is abortion, another is fluoridation, another is vaccines. “So, we need to look at the priorities of the agency. There's really a deeply, deeply embedded, I would say, malaise at the agency.  We need strong leadership that will go in there, and that will be able to execute on President Trump's broad ambitions.” While the CDC euphemistically references “family planning,” under its “Ten Great Public Health Achievements” of the 20th century, everyone knows that includes abortion as a morally acceptable decision for a pregnant mother. Christian baker who refused to make ‘wedding' cake for lesbians appeals to U.S. Supreme Court A devout Christian baker in California filed a request with the U.S. Supreme Court to protect her right to create custom-designed wedding cakes that reflect her faith, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Cathy Miller, owner of Cathy's Creations and Tastries in Bakersfield, California, has endured almost a decade of the state targeting her for her 2017 decision not to bake a cake for a lesbian faux “wedding” because of her Christian faith. MILLER: “In our standards, it says that I ‘cannot participate in a wedding that would be between a man and a man or a woman and a woman.' But I'll do their birthday cakes. I'll do their cookies, you know. And there's so many other bakeries that are happy to. I'm the only one in Bakersfield that said I can't participate in that union.” Genesis 2:24 says, “A man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.” Shockingly, within an hour of her polite refusal to make a wedding cake for a homosexual ceremony, the liberals tried to exact a pound of flesh. MILLER” “I said, you know, ‘I can't do your wedding cake. I can't create it for you, but I have someone who's a really good decorator, and I can refer you to her.' They got really upset. They grabbed the order form and they stormed out, and within an hour, there was a barrage of phone calls and threats. Social media just went nuts. “We received death threats, rape threats. I couldn't go anywhere except for the house, the bakery, and my church for three months. It was devastating to our family. It was devastating to the business.” One of Miller's employees also addressed the fallout. EMPLOYEE: “We had to shut down our emails. We had to shut down the phone calls. Only I or Kathy would answer them because they were very vulgar and threatening. They did break into Cathy's car and steal her computer and tried to damage the vehicle because it had a Tastries logo on it.” Miller added, “All I want is to serve my neighbors as the Gospel of Jesus Christ calls me to without being forced to create messages that violate my beliefs.” Texas House: If you send abortion kill pill, you'll be fined $100,000 And finally, the Texas House of Representatives passed a major pro-life bill last Thursday aimed at stopping mail-order abortion kill pills, reports LifeNews.com. The Woman and Child Protection Act  -- HB 7 sponsored by Sen. Bryan Hughes -- will head to the Senate for final approval this week. While abortion businesses are closing brick-and-mortar facilities, they are  shifting their tactics online. Activists send deadly pills into Texas illegally from other states and countries—to the tune of at least 19,000 orders of abortion drugs each year. Rep. Jeff Leach authored the measure. LEACH: “I am proud of this compassionate piece of legislation in front of you. This is going to save lives of baby boys and baby girls.” Democrat Texas Rep. Chris Turner, a pro-abort, asked Rep. Leach a question. TURNER: “Is your bill, House Bill 7, likely to increase or decrease women's fear of pregnancy in the state of Texas?” LEACH: “I am interested, by way of this bill, in protecting Texas babies and protecting their moms, and in building a culture of life here in the state of Texas. “Representative Turner, we should do everything we can to promote and elevate motherhood.” The Woman and Child Protection Act would do three things: First, allow Texans to shut down companies that sell abortion kill pills; Second, let women sue abortion kill pill traffickers; and And third, enable Texas to fine businesses which supply abortion drugs with a $100,000 fine. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus California school district prohibits prayer before board meeting A California school district is fighting a legal battle to defend opening prayer, arguing it's perfectly permissible to open meetings by invoking God, reports Faithwire.com. Joel Oster, an attorney for Advocates For Faith & Freedom, told CBN News that Chino Valley Unified School District has taken decisive legal action to challenge what it believes to be an outdated injunction from the Ninth Circuit Court preventing the school board from opening with prayer. The Christian legal rights attorney explained himself. OSTER: “It's not a violation of the First Amendment. It's not an unconstitutional establishment of religion to just simply allow a deliberative body to open up its sessions with prayer.” Remember the truth of Ephesians 6:12. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser flips: Grateful Trump lowered crime After previously criticizing President Donald Trump's federal takeover of Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser has since changed her stance, praising the federal operation for the reduction in homicides, carjackings, and gun crimes, reports One America News. On Wednesday, Bowser gave an update on the result of the federal takeover, revealing that violent crime is down by 45% since the operation began in comparison to crime statistics within the same period last year. The nation's capital has seen a 38% decrease in homicides, an 87% decrease in carjackings, and a 62% decrease in robberies. Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed on Thursday that there have been 1,283 arrests and the seizure of 135 illegal guns as a result of the operation. In order to help drop the homicide rate even further, President Trump made this announcement. TRUMP: “If somebody kills somebody in the capital, Washington, DC, we're going to be seeking the death penalty. And that's a very strong preventative we have no choice in DC and Washington.  States are going to have to make their own decision. But if somebody kills somebody, it's the death penalty.” Genesis 9:6 says, “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in His own image." Trump fired CDC Director On Thursday, the White House said President Donald Trump has fired Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Susan Monarez after she refused to resign, reports CNBC. Hours later, NBC News reported the White House had tapped Jim O'Neill, deputy secretary of the Health and Human Services department, to serve as acting director of the CDC. O'Neill was sworn in as deputy secretary in June, and is a key aide to HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The temporary appointment suggests that Kennedy could have a clearer path to make changes to U.S. immunization policy, particularly after Monarez had refused some of his requests. The permanent replacement for Monarez will have to be confirmed, though, by the Senate. Homosexual CDC official, who called pregnant women pregnant “people,” resigned Plus, Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, a homosexual man married to his alleged husband, Michael Macneal, resigned at the CDC in part because he had been upset by Kennedy's decision to remove COVID-19 vaccines from immunization schedules for healthy children and pregnant women, reports The Epoch Times. And, like many on the left, Daskalakis insisted on calling pregnant women “pregnant people.” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made this comment. LEAVITT:  “I understand there were a few other individuals who resigned after the firing of Ms. Monarez. One of those individuals wrote in his departure statement that he identifies pregnant women as ‘pregnant people.' So, that's not someone who we want in this administration anyway. So, if people are not aligned with the President's vision and the Secretary's vision to make our country healthy again, then we will gladly show them the door.” Kirk Cameron warns America about Taylor Swift Christian actor Kirk Cameron recently sounded the alarm over Taylor Swift's cultural influence, reports The Christian Post. CAMERON: “This billionaire pop star in heels is crowned ‘the voice of a generation.' What do you get when a billionaire pop star releases an album with provocative artwork, lyrics that mock God, glorify rebellion and celebrate explicit sin? “You get the most powerful sermon that America's youth will hear this year. Her songs are not just music. This is discipleship!” Cracker Barrel has funded sexually perverse lifestyles for a decade Despite the fact that Cracker Barrel has been shamed into keeping its own nostalgic logo, the controversy extends beyond the logo and remodels.  According to Fox Business, the rebranding saga began on May 16, 2024, when Julie Masino, the new president as of 2023, unveiled a “strategic transformation plan” to investors, emphasizing “refining” and “evolving the brand across all touchpoints.” Investor Sardar Biglari, a prominent shareholder, issued four warnings, including a 120-page slide deck and a seven-page letter to shareholders, labeling the rebrand “obvious folly” and warning of “shareholder value destruction.” He argued, “Cracker Barrel is not in dire need of a transformation; it's in dire need of a turnaround,” and criticized the board as “flawed” and “responsible for the current malaise.” Despite these warnings, Masino and the board pressed forward with a $700 million remodel at Cracker Barrel, ignoring Biglari's concerns and dismissing him as an “activist investor” with an “ultimate agenda.” However, from a Christian standpoint, the most objectionable aspect of Cracker Barrel is its apparent longstanding push of sexual perversion. Listen to what conservative activist Robby Starbuck said at the beginning of a 15-minute statement. STARBUCK: “We investigated Cracker Barrel, and what I'm about to show you is a company infested with left-wing activists who are more interested in safe spaces, pronouns, and virtue signaling than they are in their customers. “I think the best way to start is by telling you what you've been funding if you've gone to Cracker Barrel in recent years.
