First Baptist Dallas leaders and congregants marked the one-year anniversary of the devastating four-alarm fire that destroyed the downtown church's historic sanctuary on Sunday. In other news, a woman's body was recovered from Lake Lewisville early Sunday morning. Texas Game Wardens responded to Lake Lewisville early Sunday on a reported drowning; group of kids in Dallas set up shop in their neighborhood selling what they called, ‘the best lemonade in Dallas' as a fundraiser to help those in need after the flooding. Set up with a cooler chock-full of ice, towers of plastic red Solo cups, two pitchers of fresh lemonade, and a homemade wooden stand posted under a yellow umbrella with a sign that read: “Lemonade, $1. All proceeds go to Camp Mystic,” the kids starting making sales around 10 Saturday morning; and women's basketball phenoms Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark played each other for the first time as professionals on Sunday, which ended in a 102-83 Indiana Fever win over the Dallas Wings. (00:57) A disappointing cup of lemonade at the Big Butler County Fair ignited an unexpected entrepreneurial journey for Shiquala Dukes and Vonn Jennings. Their quest for something more refreshing and less sugary resulted in Burghade Lemonade, a business that began as a quick money-making venture but rapidly evolved into something much more meaningful. The couple shares how they crafted their first batches in summer 2022, focusing on healthier ingredients with less sugar and more fresh fruit. This health-conscious approach resonated immediately with customers, selling out at their very first events. Their product line has bloomed from two initial flavors to seven varieties. Raspberry dominates at Pride events, while Limeade finds its fans in Lawrenceville and the Strip District Terminal.(15:30) As first-generation business owners, Shiquala and Vonn candidly discuss navigating unfamiliar entrepreneurial waters through programs like Fulton Commons' incubator and Catapult Pittsburgh. Beyond the beverages themselves, Burghade represents something larger: community values, health consciousness, and entrepreneurial inspiration. Their journey embodies their own business philosophy: "Do it scared" and "fail forward."(34:43) Later in the show, Hal B Klein offers up a dining spot on his day off, and Olive Visco dishes out her mom's eggplant parm recipe, where the summer garden is key. Some films aim to entertain; others aim to provoke. Lemonade Blessing dares to do both—and does so with unapologetic flair. At first glance, the film is a bold, raunchy sex comedy. But peel back the irreverent humor, the teenage horniness, and the sacrilegious hijinks, and you'll find something much deeper pulsing beneath the surface: a raw, reflective exploration of generational trauma, toxic masculinity, and the quiet desperation of growing up with inherited wounds. In this interview, Following Films sits down with writer-director Chris Merola, a Gen Z filmmaker whose work channels both playful nostalgia and piercing cultural critique. With scenes shot in his own childhood home and props pulled from his real-life video game collection, Lemonade Blessing is as personal as it is provocative. Merola opens up about the journey of making the film, the adolescent awakening that inspired it, and his hope that the film's outrageous "skin" might draw in teen boys—particularly those vulnerable to toxic influencers—and leave them with something more lasting: its soul.Audiences will have the chance to experience Lemonade Blessing at this year's Tribeca Film Festival, with four scheduled screenings:Thursday, June 5 at 7:15 PM – SVA Theater (Beatrice), 333 West 23rd StreetFriday, June 6 at 9:00 PM – Village East Cinemas (VEC-04), 181-189 2nd AvenueSaturday, June 14 at 6:00 PM – Village East Cinemas (VEC-04), 181-189 2nd AvenueSunday, June 15 at 11:15 AM – Village East Cinemas (VEC-02), 181-189 2nd AvenueDon't miss this bold, timely, and soul-searching debut from a filmmaker with something vital to say—and a wild, unforgettable way of saying it.
