On Thursday's Mark Levin Show, there's new information that contradicts what the Democrats and their media have been saying about Renee Nicole Good, the woman shot by an ICE agent. There's been an effort to portray her as a non-activist, but she was a Minneapolis ‘ICE Watch' ‘warrior' who was trained to resist the feds before the shooting. The Democrat party and their media are responsible for this shooting with their violent rhetoric. Also, Megyn Kelly and Tucker Carlson are the worst type of grifters. There are enemies to people of deep Christian faith, Jews, patriotic Americans supporting President Trump, and those opposing the rise of Islamism and Marxism in the country. These grifters, motivated by millions in profits from a niche audience, have abandoned their past personas to preach anti-Semitism, bigotry, racism, Christian-bashing, and America-hating, stabbing Trump and his supporters in the back while using Saul Alinsky tactics to target, personalize, and assassinate characters, often Jews. Later, 17 Republicans joined Democrats in a 230-196 passage of a three-year extension of expired Obamacare health care tax credits. This extension, unlikely to pass the Senate unchanged, imposes tens of billions in costs on taxpayers without systemic reforms, perpetuating inefficient, second-class government-run health care akin to Bernie Sanders' proposals. Afterward, Iran enforced a nationwide internet blackout as protests demanding the removal of the Islamic government and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei escalated across cities. As the scandal around ICE's killing of Renee Good in Minneapolis gets worse, two leading Democrats—Representatives Eric Swalwell and Daniel Goldman—are set to introduce a new bill reining in ICE. It would end qualified immunity for civil enforcement officers like ICE agents, making it easier for victims of their abuses to sue them or pursue criminal charges against them in court. All this comes as top MAGA figures and leading Republicans have flatly defended the killing in some truly ghoulish displays. This, even as powerful new video analyses from The New York Times and The Washington Post show unequivocally that the shooting was at minimum absolutely unjustified. We talked to Swalwell and Goodman about their new proposal, the need for the state of Minnesota to prosecute the shooter, the folly of expecting the FBI to investigate the killing, and the need to functionally end ICE's existence over the long term. The most consequential story remains Iran, where protests appear to be growing despite the regime shutting down the internet, a move that historically precedes lethal force. The scale of the demonstrations is difficult to verify, but the videos that do emerge suggest a population no longer content to absorb repression quietly. It is hard to separate this moment from the cascading effects of October 7, the regional dismantling of Hamas and Hezbollah, the fall of Syria, and the degradation of Iran's military capacity. Whether this becomes a true regime crisis is unknown, but it is unquestionably the most important story in the world right now.A Fatal ICE Encounter and a Nation Watching the Same Video DifferentlyDomestically, the killing of a 37 year old mother during an ICE operation in Minnesota has become a political Rorschach test. She was ordered out of her car, did not comply, put the vehicle in motion, and was shot by an ICE officer. Federal authorities have shut down any investigation, with Vice President J.D. Vance asserting absolute immunity. What is striking is not just the tragedy itself, but how confidently people draw opposite conclusions from the same footage. To Republicans, this is law enforcement under siege. To Democrats, it is evidence of authoritarian overreach. The incident hardens beliefs rather than persuading anyone new, which is precisely why it is politically potent.Texas Democrats and a Brutal Primary RealityThe Texas Senate race continues to clarify in uncomfortable ways for Democrats. Reporting suggests Republican maneuvering helped nudge Jasmine Crockett into the race, and the stylistic contrast with James Talarico could not be sharper. Crockett is relentless and confrontational. Talarico's first ad, by contrast, feels staged and overly polite. In a Texas Democratic primary, that is a problem. Style matters, and beating Crockett will require more than reasonableness. It will require a moment, a line, or a conflict that reframes the race entirely.Affordability, Power, and Trump UnfilteredDonald Trump's affordability push continued with a pledge to direct the purchase of mortgage bonds to drive down rates, paired with earlier proposals to restrict large institutional buyers from the housing market. Whether these ideas work is secondary to the political intent. Trump wants to be seen doing something on costs. His two hour interview with The New York Times reinforced that worldview. He openly dismissed international law as a constraint, embraced coercive diplomacy, and framed power as its own justification. Christian converts are often targets of imprisonment, false accusations, mistreatment, and torture under the Iranian regime, with hundreds of Christ followers targeted by Iranian authorities in 2025 alone. Arjaneh and her husband, Qasem, were arrested on July 7, 2025, after they attended a Christian training event in Turkey. She was initially released on bail and later convicted of “promoting deviant propaganda and teachings contrary to Islamic law” and “providing financial and material support to groups affiliated with Zionist Christianity.” Senate restricts Trump from future strikes on Venezuela Here in America, the U.S. Senate has passed a war powers resolution, which would limit President Donald Trump's ability to conduct further strikes in Venezuela, reports NewsNation.com. Five Republicans voted with Democrats to pass the resolution including Senators Rand Paul of Kentucky, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Todd Young of Indiana, and Josh Hawley of Missouri. The legislation will require Trump to get approval from Congress before conducting any strikes on Venezuela. Democrats have previously failed to pass resolutions limiting the president's ability to strike alleged drug vessels in the Caribbean and the Pacific. The move comes after a surprise strike on Venezuela and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro. Congress was not notified of the mission in advance, breaking from tradition. While only Congress has the power to declare war, presidents have used broad authority to act unilaterally in the absence of a formal declaration of war. The last time the U.S. formally declared war was World War II. Devastating admission by lesbian lover after ICE shooting Wednesday's fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Good by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer in Minnesota has brought even more national attention to arrest and deportation efforts, reports The Western Journal. Media members and the public alike took to dissecting Wednesday's footage of Good's altercation with ICE as she tried to stop officers from doing their jobs, parked her car in the street, refused to move it, and threatened to run over an officer. Good's last moments as she tried to drive into an officer have been the subject of intense debate as to what her intentions actually were, but another telling moment from her lesbian lover reveals why she was trying to stop ICE in the first place. In the immediate aftermath, Good's faux wife, was heard saying, “I made her come down here; it's my fault. They just shot my wife,” according to the New York Post. Samuel Short of The Western Journal wrote, “Left-wing media outlets consistently refuse to look at the entire story when a fatal shooting takes place involving law enforcement. In this instance, Renee Good's [faux] “wife” brought her out to do this. Good was a problem for ICE that day already as she refused to comply with officers who told her to get out of her car. Good put her foot on the gas despite the fact an agent was standing in front of her vehicle. “She put herself in a dangerous position, stopping armed federal officers from arresting dangerous people.” J.D. Vance: Woman ICE killed tried to run them over In a White House briefing, Vice President J.D. Vance put the press, which defended Renee Good, in its place. Listen. VANCE: “What's going on here? You guys are meant to report the truth. How have you let yourself become agents of propaganda of a radical fringe that's making it harder for us to enforce our laws? “You just asked me a question that presumed that the reason why this woman died is because she was engaged in legitimate protest. She tried to run somebody over with her car, and the guy defended himself when that happened.” The Department of Homeland Security reported a 1,154 percent increase in assaults on officers in November. That's not to mention deadly shootings targeting ICE detention centers. House Republicans reject Trump's call to be “flexible” on Hyde Amendment Most House Republicans appear to uphold the party's longstanding principle against allocating taxpayer funds for abortion, despite President Donald Trump's call for them to be “flexible” on it, reports LifeNews.com. As President Trump laid out a game plan for Republicans to win on the healthcare issue in 2026, he said, “You have to be a little flexible on Hyde.” TRUMP: “Now you have to be a little flexible on [the] Hyde [Amendment]. You know that you got to be a little flexible. You got to work something.” House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana, who spoke at the March For Life in 2025, said, “We're not going to authorize taxpayer funding for abortion. I mean, it's been a consistent policy. We are not going to change the standard that has been, frankly, bipartisan up until recent days. … I'm just not going to allow that to happen.” The Hyde Amendment is named after the late Republican Rep. Henry Hyde of Illinois whose 1976 amendment to a health funding bill prohibited funding for abortions “except where the life of the mother would be endangered if the fetus were carried to term.” Since then, Hyde provisions have been a non-negotiable item for Republicans in funding bills. Republican Rep. Mark Harris of North Carolina told The Daily Signal, “All the folks I hear from are very committed to Hyde.” House Freedom Caucus Chairman Andy Harris, a Roman Catholic who chairs the House Pro-Life Caucus, also rejected the idea of finding middle-ground on the issue. He told reporters, “There's no flexibility. You're either using public funds to pay for abortion or you're not.” And appearing on Washington Watch with Tony Perkins, Republican Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma said this. LANKFORD: “I'm not flexible on the value of every single child. Every single child is valuable. There aren't some children that are disposable and some children that are valuable. Every child is valuable.” Proverbs 31:8 says, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” Baltimore Ravens rookie kicker turns to Bible after missing field goal And finally, after missing a crucial field goal in the final moments of Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens rookie kicker Tyler Loop pointed probing reporters to Scripture, reports FaithWire.com. There's no doubt Loop was discouraged; he immediately buried his face in his hands after the failed kick. But once he was in the locker room, he opened up about how his personal devotional time — and one passage in particular — comforted him. Tyler told sports journalists, “I had written down a little prayer before the game and [I was] just re-reading it. Faith is a big part of my life and, right now, I'm reading the book of Romans. In Romans 8, it says, ‘God works for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.'” The pro-athlete was referencing Romans 8:28. In that verse, the Apostle Paul spoke directly to Christians, encouraging those who have found salvation through Jesus with the promise that — for them — all things will work out for their good. Trump and Trump v. V.O.S. Selections, Inc.) on November 5, 2025, where they appeared skeptical of the administration’s position that IEEPA grants the president authority to impose such sweeping tariffs during declared national emergencies.  Lower courts had previously ruled against the tariffs’ legality, but they remain in effect pending the Supreme Court’s decision.    These options are drawn from existing trade laws and have been used by past administrations. Here’s a breakdown of the key alternatives: Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962: This allows the president to impose tariffs on imports deemed a threat to national security after an investigation by the Department of Commerce. There’s no cap on duty levels or duration, making it flexible for broad application, such as on steel or autos.  Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974: Through the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), this permits tariffs in response to unfair or discriminatory foreign trade practices that violate international agreements or harm U.S. commerce. No rate limit exists, but it requires an investigation and findings, which could target specific countries like China.  Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974: This enables temporary import surcharges of up to 15% (or quotas) for up to 150 days to address “large and serious” balance-of-payments deficits. It’s seen as a quick interim option while longer-term measures are pursued, but extensions need congressional approval.  Section 201 of the Trade Act of 1974: Known as “safeguard” measures, this authorizes tariffs if surging imports are causing or threatening serious injury to domestic industries. It requires a U.S. International Trade Commission investigation and recommendation, with tariffs potentially lasting up to four years (extendable to eight).  Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930: This allows duties up to 50% on imports from countries engaging in “unfair” practices that discriminate against U.S. exports. It’s less commonly used and could face immediate lawsuits due to its broad interpretation potential. The administration has signaled readiness to shift to these tools, potentially starting with Section 122 for rapid implementation. U.S. Trade Deficit Drops 40% in Latest Commerce Dept Report  As you review this latest data on trade, remember any drop in trade deficits has two big picture functions: First, lower trade deficits generally mean the accompanying GDP release will be stronger than anticipated because imported products are a deduction from the valuation of all goods and services created in the U.S. economy.  Lower imports mean less is deducted. Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, a drop in the trade deficit created by diminished imports means more wealth remains inside the USA. We are not spending, sending money overseas, to import foreign goods at the same rate, and that money stays inside the U.S. economy. More wealth inside the U.S. provides the fuel for expanded domestic growth, more investment gains in USA manufacturing and USA industry and the ability to pay higher USA wages. The Commerce Department is reporting today that the U.S. trade deficit for October 2025 dropped to the smallest amount in 16-years.  A significant amount of the deficit drop was because a high value of physical precious metals (gold/silver) was exported, simultaneous with big offshore pharmaceutical companies dropping the prices of imported products (policy and tariff pressure).   Some may question whether internal consumer demand has declined, causing the significant drop in imports.  However, the U.S productivity rate is still very high – which generally means domestic consumer demand is still high and all units produced have a lower overall cost per unit. Economic analysis can get weedy…. so, a simple way to look at productivity is to think about baking bread in your kitchen. If you were going to bake 4 loaves of bread it might take you 2 hrs. start to finish. However, if you were going to bake 8 loaves of bread it would not take you twice as long because most of the tasks can be accomplished with simple increases in batch size, and only minor increases in labor time. Your productivity measured in the last four loaves is higher. Economic Productivity is measured much the same way, within what's called a production probability equation. Additionally, if two hours of your time are worth $40, each of four loaves of bread costs $10 in labor; but if you make 8 loaves in the same amount of time the labor cost is only $5/per loaf.   When we see higher productivity in direct alignment with GDP increases, the increased production indicates sustainable GDP growth. Yes, for S.J. Res. 98 (the Venezuela war powers resolution referenced in the post) to become law and enforce limits on further U.S. military actions, it must pass the House of Representatives after its recent advancement in the Senate. If the House approves it, the bill would then go to President Trump, who has indicated he would likely veto it based on similar past actions.  If vetoed, Congress would need a two-thirds majority in both chambers to override.    Article II of the Constitution, as all Presidents, and their Departments of Justice, have determined before me. That is no coincidence: it is strategy. Rubio is not acting to provoke an immediate implosion, but to manage the decomposition of power. By exposing contradictions, routes, false narratives, and opaque movements, he weakens Delcy in front of the Chavista leadership, but without pushing the system toward a violent break that generates a power vacuum, chaos, or an unpredictable military reaction. This achieves several objectives at once: First, it isolates Delcy. Every time she is exposed, her room to maneuver shrinks in front of her “external allies” and the regime’s hardline elements. She shifts from being an operator to becoming a risk. Second, it deepens internal distrust. When sensitive information starts to align with U.S. actions, within the regime no one knows who is leaking what. That paranoia is corrosive and weakens more than a direct strike. Third, it preserves the minimum governability necessary for a transition. An abrupt collapse favors criminal actors, armed dissidents, and foreign powers. Controlling the pace of the erosion allows maintaining channels, containing damage, and preparing the ground for a subsequent political process. In that context, Delcy is trapped. Minneapolis Public Schools canceled classes on Thursday and Friday out of caution, citing protests sparked by the fatal shooting of a female driver by federal immigration agents. The district will not move to e-learning, as that is only allowable under severe weather conditions. School will resume in the city on Monday, Jan. 12.The Senate is due to consider a resolution on Thursday that would block President Donald Trump from taking further military action against Venezuela without congressional authorization. Senate passage would be a significant victory for the lawmakers who have been pushing the war powers issue. To become law, however, the resolution would have to pass the Republican-led House of Representatives and survive an expected Trump veto, which would require two-thirds majorities in both chambers to override.
