Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani's come-from-behind victory in this summer's Democratic primary for New York City mayor is already the stuff of political legend. But in many ways, the most intriguing phase of his campaign has been the period since then, as he has labored, painstakingly, to win over his skeptics. How, exactly, would a 33-year-old member of the Democratic Socialists of America, with little management experience and a record of polarizing pronouncements, win over enough voters to prevail in the general election? So far, the polls suggest he's doing just that. And so, a few days ago, “The Daily” sat down Mr. Mamdani for an extended conversation about his campaign, the forces and ideas that have animated it and his plans, if elected on Nov. 4, to deliver on his campaign promises and contend with a Republican president who has promised to treat him as an enemy from his first day in office.Guest: Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic candidate for mayor of New York City. Background reading: Inside the improbable, audacious and (so far) unstoppable rise of Zohran Mamdani.Photo: Vincent Alban/The New York TimesFor more information on today's episode, visit nytimes.com/thedaily. On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, all antisemitic, racist, and bigoted messaging and other forms of communication should be aggressively condemned. Who cares if it's Young Republicans or Young Democrats, members of Congress, media that platforms and promotes such poison, organizations that invite bigots as speakers and debaters, podcasters, comedians, and on and on. It's disgusting that some of those condemning the Young Republicans in the Politico piece, who most certainly should be condemned and removed, are as guilty as they are with their headlines, storylines, and promotion of a long list of bigots. It's sinister. The likes of Tucker Carlson, Candice Owens, Steve Bannon, and their ilk, as well as their apologists are being mainstreamed do have an impact on the minds of too many young people. Where are the top Republicans denouncing them? Later, Zohran Mamdani is a Marxist Islamist disguised as a democratic socialist. Mamdani's policies would impoverish NYC like Cuba or Venezuela through freebies, high minimum wages, and welfare expansion eroding liberty and affordability while attracting the poor and overwhelming services. Mamdani speaks out of both sides of his mouth, ignoring Hamas's slaughter, beatings, and public field executions of Palestinians while fixating on his claim that Israelis killed five Palestinians recently. Afterward, Islamists won't be deterred by peace plans, and these nations, such as Qatar and Turkey, fund, fear, and acquiesce to terrorism. Right now, Hamas is slaughtering and executing Palestinians in Gaza, which is ignored by pro-Palestinian groups like Students for Justice in Palestine, who is indirectly controlled by Hamas and aimed at destroying Israel and the U.S. There's no marching in the streets for Hamas slaughtering Palestinians. Also, Republicans better fight like hell, or the Democrats could take over the House in the midterms, which would mean President Trump loses his agenda. Do not listen to the polls. Today's Headlines: We're now on day 16 of the government shutdown, and Republican leaders are hinting it could drag on until Thanksgiving — casually blaming holiday travel chaos while admitting they're not even thinking about reopening the government. Meanwhile, OMB Director Russell Vought says the administration plans to fire 10,000 federal workers, though a federal judge just ruled they can't do that during a shutdown. While public employees go unpaid, the administration is finding cash for others — promising a “clever and generous” $10 billion bailout for farmers hit by the trade war with China once the shutdown ends, and another $20 billion to prop up Argentina's crumbling economy. Priorities! At the Pentagon, dozens of journalists turned in their press badges rather than sign Pete Hegseth's “state media” pledge requiring them to only report what the Defense Department approves — a move even Fox wouldn't touch. Over at the Supreme Court, justices heard a major case that could gut the Voting Rights Act by striking down race-based map protections — potentially flipping a dozen Democratic House seats in the South right before the 2026 midterms. Meanwhile, an Ohio GOP congressman's office was found to have a flag featuring a swastika intertwined with the American flag visible on a Zoom call. He blamed it on “vandalism,” because apparently random Nazi décor just appears in people's offices now. And finally, the yacht formerly known as the Lady Ghislaine — once owned by Robert Maxwell (yes, Ghislaine's dad) and now Rupert Murdoch's ex-wife's — caught fire in D.C. yesterday. Officials say it was electrical. Okay then. Political Discussion – “Schumer Shutdown”: Cruz and Ferguson argue that Democrats, led by Senator Chuck Schumer, are responsible for keeping the government closed. They portray Republicans as trying to reopen the government, while Democrats allegedly refuse. President Trump is praised for redirecting Defense Department funds to pay service members during the shutdown — presented as undermining Democrats’ political strategy. Cruz claims Democrats want taxpayer-funded health care for undocumented immigrants and are motivated by political self-preservation rather than governance. They assert the shutdown will last until after the “No Kings Rally,” described as a left-wing anti-Trump protest in D.C. Advertising Segment: The conversation temporarily shifts into a sponsor ad for “Backyard Butchers,” promoting American ranchers and criticizing “Big Ag.”→ This is a common podcast monetization interlude framed around populist “buy American” messaging. Continuation of Shutdown Debate: Cruz describes the hardship for unpaid federal workers. The conversation emphasizes that Democrats’ alleged political games are causing unnecessary suffering. Cruz speculates the shutdown will only end once moderate or retiring Democrats break ranks. Tribute Segment – Charlie Kirk’s Memorial: The second half of the podcast focuses on Charlie Kirk’s posthumous Medal of Freedom ceremony. Cruz recounts the event in emotional, spiritual terms, highlighting Erica Kirk’s (his widow’s) public forgiveness of Kirk’s killer. He frames this as a Christian act of grace and gospel testimony. The conversation portrays Kirk as a “martyr for truth and freedom,” comparing him to historical figures like Socrates, Lincoln, and Martin Luther King Jr. President Trump’s remarks are quoted extensively, celebrating Kirk as a visionary and moral hero. The discussion closes with reflection on Kirk’s influence on youth, his faith, and his perceived role as a symbol of conservative moral strength. Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now. President Donald Trump's recent remarks about Miriam Adelson, widow of Republican megadonor Sheldon Adelson, including jokes that she is more loyal to Israel than the United States, qualify as antisemitism, based on the guidelines promulgated by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), which classifies accusations of dual loyalty as antisemitic. Jimmy and Americans' Comedian Kurt Metzger analyze Trump's history with the Adelsons, his acknowledgment of their influence over policy decisions such as moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, and his rhetoric about donor power in U.S. politics. The discussion then expands into a broader critique of the IHRA's antisemitism definitions, perceived double standards in political discourse, and the influence of Zionism and media narratives on public perception. Plus segments on the sham that is the upcoming “No Kings” rally and Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene going scorched earth on her own party. Also featuring Mike MacRae, Mel K. and Stef Zamorano. Plus a phone call from Mike Johnson!
Stigall offers his thoughts on why Charlie Kirk was such a significant figure at such a pivotal time in our nation's history and why we all must now guard our young men and continue in that work. Not allow dark forces to compromise his legacy and turn those young activists into angry, grievance mobs. The Pentagon releases new rules for the press. Is it unconstitutional? Can states draw district boundaries based on race? And Congress continues to look at the weaponization of the DOJ by the Biden administration from spying on Republicans to surveilling J6ers and waging lawfare against Donald Trump. Don't look now, but Obama is still talking and can't stand President Trump is being heralded as a great leader across the world, so he's doing his best to lead the opposition here at home. But it's not working. Meanwhile Hamas is still very much interested in spreading terror and maintaining control of Gaza and the people there. They're publicly executing anyone they deem traitors among them. It's not a story you're hearing much but you will here, and President Trump won't play nice with Hamas for long. -For more info visit the official website: https://chrisstigall.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/chrisstigallshow/Twitter: https://twitter.com/ChrisStigallFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/chris.stigall/Listen on Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/StigallPodListen on Apple Podcasts: https://bit.ly/StigallShowSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Show (10/15/2025): 3:05pm- Now that Eric Adams has left the race, can Andrew Cuomo defeat Zohran Mamdani and become the next mayor of New York City? It's not likely. According to the latest polls, Cuomo still trails Mamdani by double digits. 3:10pm- Last week, Republican businessman Jack Ciattarelli and Democratic Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill went head-to-head in their second and final debate before election day on November 4th. Notably, Sherrill shamelessly—and inaccurately—accused Ciattarelli of killing “tens of thousands of people” for work a marketing firm he once owned did on behalf of pharmaceutical companies. Ciattarelli's campaign has sued her for defamation. 3:20pm- Yesterday, for the eighth time, Senate Democrats voted against moving forward with a House-passed bill to fund the government and end the ongoing shutdown. Only John Fetterman, Catherine Cortez Masto, and Angus King broke from their party. The Senate needs 60 votes to advance the bill. 3:30pm- On Wednesday, the Supreme Court heard oral argument in Louisiana v. Callais—a redistricting case focusing on the constitutionality of Louisiana's congressional map. Should states be compelled to consider race when redrawing legislative districts? 3:40pm- On Wednesday, President Donald Trump—alongside FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi—held a press conference from the Oval Office highlighting the progress the administration has made in eliminating violent crime. 4:00pm- On Wednesday, President Donald Trump—alongside FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi—held a press conference from the Oval Office highlighting the progress the administration has made in eliminating violent crime. 5:05pm- Dr. EJ Antoni—Chief Economist at The Heritage Foundation—joins The Rich Zeoli Show. Is Jerome Powell's Federal Reserve still on track to lower interest rates later this month? Plus, the University of Louisville has introduced a new course using Taylor Swift to teach students economics. 5:30pm- Complete Embarrassment: Far-left Katie Porter—the front runner to become the next Governor of California in 2026—had a complete meltdown after a CBS reporter asked her about her strategy for winning bipartisan support. Porter insisted she didn't need the support of Trump voters and then abruptly ended the interview—explicitly complaining about being asked too many “follow up” questions. Porter, a former congresswoman and accolade of Elizabeth Warren, lost her 2024 race for U.S. Senate. Now a new video has surfaced of her screaming and cursing at a staffer! Now she's back and refusing to say whether more videos of her verbally abusing staff could be made public. PLUS, Matt notes that in divorce proceedings, Katie Porter's ex-husband alleged that during a 2006 argument, Porter “raised a ceramic bowl of steaming hot mashed potatoes and dumped it on my head, burning my scalp.” 5:40pm- Nancy Pelosi snaps and tells a reporter to “SHUT UP!” 6:05pm- Daniel Turner—Founder and Executive Director of Power The Future—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss the Democrat Party's ridiculous spending demands to end the ongoing government shutdown, including $24.6 million for “climate resilience” in Honduras! What the heck is climate resilience? Turner explains: “America's working families voted to end this reckless spending spree back in November. But now the Dems are holding military members' pay hostage to bankroll their Green New Scam projects all over the world. Shameful.” 6:30pm- According to a news report from ABC7 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles has declared a state of emergency and issued an eviction moratorium in response to the Trump administration's deportations of illegal migrants. 6:40pm- While speaking with New York Times reporter Kara Swisher, Kamala Harris said she was the most qualified presidential candidate in U.S. history. Today's Headlines: Hamas returned the bodies of four more Israeli hostages after Israel accused them of dragging their feet on the peace deal and threatened to slash humanitarian aid. Two American hostages' remains are still missing. Trump's foreign policy victory lap took a turn when he threatened to cut aid to Argentina if voters don't reelect his ally Javier Milei—right after the U.S. basically bailed out Argentina's economy. Meanwhile, the U.S. military struck another “drug boat” off Venezuela, killing six, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth tried (and failed) to force journalists to sign gag agreements for Pentagon access—OANN was the only one to comply. Over at DHS, Secretary Kristi Noem produced an airport PSA blaming Democrats for the government shutdown, violating the Hatch Act so hard that airports are refusing to air it. Trump posthumously gave the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Charlie Kirk, then revoked visas for six foreigners who allegedly mocked his death. A leak of 28,000 messages from Young Republican leaders exposed months of racist, antisemitic, and violent rants—including one participant who works in the Trump administration. In Pennsylvania, the man who set Governor Josh Shapiro's house on fire pleaded guilty to attempted murder and arson. And in Alaska, a typhoon killed at least one and displaced over 1,400 people, while OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced that ChatGPT will now allow erotica for verified adults. This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit www.politix.fmThe government shutdown just crossed the two-week mark. If you take Donald Trump and his people at their word, it doesn't seem like it's about to reopen. But they are also huge bluffers. In this episode, Matt and Brian discuss: * Has Trump hit upon a (legally dubious) way to keep the government “shut down” indefinitely?* Which signs suggest he's digging in and which suggest he's bluffing?* Are we about to test, once and for all, whether anti-authoritarian politics are more compelling and more galvanizing than cost-of-living politics? Then, Republicans are desperate to shrink down and smear No Kings protesters en masse. Can this be interpreted as a sign of weakness? Is it a cunning, if ill-intended attempt to tip the country into civil unrest? How close to 1.000 does a non-violent resistance movement have to bat to keep the majority of the public on its side? All that, plus the full Politix archive are available to paid subscribers—just upgrade your subscription and pipe full episodes directly to your favorite podcast app via your own private feed.Further reading:* Brian on the median experience of tyranny.* Matt argues the authoritarian menace has arrived.* Brian makes the case that if the current equilibrium devolves into violence, we've seen enough to blame Trump.* Erica Chenoweth on civil resistance.
Join Jim and Greg for the Wednesday edition of the 3 Martini Lunch! Today, they tackle Democrats' misleading spin on Obamacare subsidies, the Trump administration's $20 billion bailout for Argentina, and an escalating Senate primary fight in Massachusetts.First, they highlight former Michigan Rep. Peter Meijer's sharp takedown of Democrats blaming Republicans for the expiring Obamacare subsidies. Meijer reminds CNN that Democrats created these COVID-era subsidies and agreed twice to let them lapse. Jim and Greg also explain how this whole fight proves yet again that Obamacare is a massive failure and was designed to fail.Next, Jim breaks down Argentina's economic turmoil and the U.S. decision to buy $20 billion of its devalued currency. Will this help give Javier Milei's free market economic agenda more time to work or is it too late? Finally, they dive into the latest Democratic Senate brawl, this time in Massachusetts. Eighty-year-old Sen. Ed Markey faces a challenge from Rep. Seth Moulton, who bizarrely argues that Markey isn't progressive enough and pledges to enact government-run health care. Please visit our great sponsors:Stop putting off those doctors' appointments and go to https://ZocDoc.com/3ML to find and instantly book a top-rated doctor today.Sponsored by Quo, formerly known as Open Phone: Get started free and save 20% on your first 6 months and port your existing numbers at no extra charge—no missed calls, no missed customers. Rush Hour Podcast – Morning Edition Today's Rush Hour Podcast dives into all the top stories heating up the headlines
In part one of Red Eye Radio with Gary McNamara and Eric Harley, we start with comments from House Speaker Mike Johnson laying all blame at House Minority leader Chuck Schumer for allowing the government shutdown to go into it's third week. Also over the past few month's select blue states have quietly pulled back healthcare for illegal immigrants and asking the federal government to pay instead, the President's hair seems to disappear on a Time magazine cover, the new press guidelines at the Pentagon, audio from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on his devotion to the Republican party, audio from Geraldo Rivera on the power of Donald Trump and speculation on who will run for office in 2028. For more talk on the issues that matter to you, listen on radio stations across America Monday-Friday 12am-5am CT (1am-6am ET and 10pm-3am PT), download the RED EYE RADIO SHOW app, asking your smart speaker, or listening at RedEyeRadioShow.com. We've officially entered the phase of the shutdown where things stop being polite and start getting real. Missed paychecks are happening this week for federal employees, and while everyone knows they'll eventually get paid, it doesn't matter. Missing a paycheck now still hurts. It gets gritty fast. Both parties are struggling to manage this moment, and honestly, neither of them is very good at what they're trying to do.On the Democratic side, they're bad at being the ones who stop the machine for a righteous cause. You can tell because half of them aren't even taking credit for the cause they're supposedly fighting for. The public explanation is that this shutdown is about Obamacare subsidies and funding for regional hospitals, but those subsidies don't expire until the end of the year. That means this fight is more about symbolism than urgency. The Democrats are also trying to repeal parts of what Trump calls the “one big beautiful bill,” though they won't say that directly. Instead, they're focused on a message that doesn't connect cleanly — and that's showing.Politics Politics Politics is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. Then there's the filibuster angle. Democrats keep saying Republicans can end the shutdown by devolving the filibuster and voting the government open again. That's dangerous thinking. Republicans don't want to touch the filibuster because doing so would force them to start passing a lot more legislation — the kind Democrats could easily overturn later. I get the strategy. Democrats want the filibuster gone so Republicans have to own the bills they pass. Then they can campaign against them. But that's a high-stakes game to play in the middle of a shutdown.Meanwhile, the Republicans aren't handling this much better. They're out of practice at playing defense on a shutdown. Their usual posture is that government is bloated anyway, so maybe turning it off isn't the worst thing in the world. That might play well in theory, but when paychecks stop going out, people stop laughing. The White House hasn't done much to apply pressure either. No press events. No imagery. No clear sense that anything's different. To the average voter, it just feels like business as usual — and that's not how you win a messaging battle. So where does that leave us? Probably in this standoff for a while. I'd bet on this dragging past Halloween, maybe into mid-November. The continuing resolution being floated now would keep funding through November 15, which would only buy about a month before we're right back here again. The pattern is familiar. You stop one shutdown, swear never to do it again, and then do it again anyway. The most realistic off-ramp is a handful of Democratic senators breaking ranks and agreeing to a handshake deal — reopen the government now, vote on the Obamacare subsidies later. But so far, that hasn't happened. Instead, we have Chuck Schumer saying every day of this shutdown is “better for Democrats.” That's the kind of sound bite that will haunt you when paychecks are still missing and airports start slowing down.I thought this would be over already. I really did. A week ago, I said Democrats should have sold high — wrapped it up while they still had good poll numbers and claimed a moral victory. But they didn't. They thought they had more to gain by holding the line. Maybe they're right. Maybe they're wrong. Either way, we're all about to find out together.Chapters00:00:00 - Intro00:03:12 - Shutdown00:10:35 - Interview with Kirk Bado00:37:30 - Update00:37:59 - Maine00:44:40 - Ukraine00:48:01 - Argentina00:51:58 - Interview with Kirk Bado, con't01:16:41 - Wrap-up This is a public episode.
