After Kimmel detailed Murray's prior comments on joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the host asked plainly "Are you in the Ant-Man movie?" Murray dodged the subject by mentioning all the people that ARE confirmed for the movie, but that he isn't at liberty to talk about himself.   On Kimmel, Murray poked fun at his past press experiences by only answering Jimmy's questions after speaking through a pair of his own translators. The convoluted conversation left Jimmy laughing throughout its entirely. When he finally answered Kimmel's question about a possible MCU appearance, Murray said "I am not at liberty to talk about it," before turning to his translators and saying "But we can talk about it when we eat dinner."   Another new addition to the cast of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is Jonathan Majors, who will be playing Kang the Conqueror. Majors originally appeared in the Disney+ series Loki playing a variant of Kang that created the TVA, "He Who Remains." However, that version of Kang suffered an untimely end, raising questions about what Majors' appearance in Quantumania will entail.   [7:21] Marvel Reveals Ant-Man's Official MCU Timeline https://www.instagram.com/p/CVvJXZMIRen/ Marvel Studios has shared an official graphic chronicling Ant-Man's journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far.   On Instagram, the official Marvel UK account posted a timeline recounting all of Scott Lang/Ant-Man's MCU appearances in chronological order. What makes this timeline …  is that it also charts Scott's size throughout each film.   The timeline uses Scott's normal size as a baseline, with the line on the graph dipping every time he used the Ant-Man suit to shrink and, eventually, climbing significantly when he used the suit to grow and become Giant-Man -- a feat he first accomplished in Civil War. The line reaches its absolute lowest points whenever Scott visits the Quantum Realm, which he did in Ant-Man, Ant-Man and the Wasp and multiple times in Endgame. In the United Arab Emirates, however, the film is still listed as among the titles coming soon.   Sources suggest the decision was likely made over the inclusion of a same-sex couple in the film and the MCU's first gay superhero. In one scene, the character, Phastos (played by Brian Tyree Henry), and his on-screen husband, Ben (Haaz Sleiman), share a passionate kiss.   Homosexuality is still officially illegal across the Gulf, and films containing anything related to LGBTQ issues are frequently pulled from release. Last year, the Pixar title Onward was banned across Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia over a single line referencing a lesbian relationship   [16:11] Eternals Review Bomb Proves Marvel is On the Right Track https://screenrant.com/eternals-movie-review-bomb-marvel-good-future-representation/ Review bombing is the practice of a subgroup of people providing a huge number of negative reviews to a movie before it has been released in an attempt to make producers think that public opinion is against them.    Of the over 400 1-star reviews, many of them reference the fact that the movie includes LGBTQ+ representation and an on-screen gay kiss. Kumail Nanjiani, who plays Kingo in Eternals, tweeted in response to the Eternals review bomb to say, “Looks like we're upsetting the right people.” Chloe Zhao has said that she is hopeful that Marvel Studios will not allow the movie to be censored for overseas audiences. Turns out, he was teasing the Black Canary! BIG BELLY BURGER - Big Belly Burger, a fictional fast-food restaurant in the DC Universe, is the fast food of choice for people who are in hiding, in jail, or otherwise cut off from the world on The Flash. Here, we saw Team Arrow hanging out there in Hub City while Felicity got it delivered to her in the Arrowcave during her side quest. FAMILY SECRET - When Talia refers to her agelessness as a "family secret," it's the kind of cutesy clue that Nyssa used to drop in her early appearances, where she didn't directly name-drop Ra's al Ghul or the Lazarus Pit, but made references that were pretty clear to people in the know. Back then, of course, we always wondered whether Ra's would ever make an appearance. Now, he's come and gone, and we know that this kind of vague dialogue is mostly to keep continuity tidy so that Oliver doesn't realize exactly who he's dealing with when Ra's and Nyssa come in later. THE FLASH & CAPTAIN SINGH - In what Marc Guggenheim tweeted was the quickest crossover Arrow has ever done with The Flash, we got to see Barry speed (in costume) into his boss's office to vouch for Green Arrow. What's nice to see is Captain Singh, Barry's boss, who hasn't been seen much this season. It felt a bit like last night, when the long-absent Miss Tessmacher from Supergirl had a quick cameo on The Flash. SONUS - Sean Sonus, alias Discord is a sonic villain who fights Green Arrow and Black Canary. He first appeared in Green Arrow and Black Canary #15, and was co-created by Arrow EP Andrew Kreisberg and artist Mike Norton. DINAH DRAKE - "Dinah Drake" is actually the name of the original/Earth-2 Black Canary, who existed in the comics before Dinah Lance did. Later, she married a man named Larry Lance and subsequently changed her name to Dinah Lance. Inspired by Dinah, her daughter Dinah Laurel Lance would go on to become a founding member of the Justice League. When the New 52 restarted DC Comics' continuity, the Black Canary legacy was retconned, and Dinah Drake was restored as the one and only Black Canary. (Date: 01 Feb 2017) Helix was a supervillain group led by Dr. Benjamin Love, aka Mr. Bones. The members were six mutated children who had been experimented on and then kidnapped by Love. They grew up to be a rather bizarre cast of characters, including Kritter (a human/dog hybrid) and Baby Boom (a young child who can cause explosions with her mind). It's safe to assume that any future appearances of Helix will certainly be way more grounded in reality - with any mention of the original characters probably being used as online screennames. This is similar to the inclusion of the secret organization Shadowspire in Arrow, which was given a much more realistic makeover. When recently discussing the dynamic between Felicity and Diggle going forward, Arrow executive-producer Wendy Mericle mentioned that the events in 'Second Chances' will play into the rest of the season. "Part of what kicks [Felicity] off down this darker path is she's going to find evidence to exonerate him -- and [Diggle's] going to have to deal with the fallout of the fact that Felicity is now going down a questionable path in part because of him." With that in mind, there's a very good chance that tonight's episode will not be the last time we hear of Helix on Arrow. TO BE MARRIED TOMORROW - The idea that the beautiful girl he happens upon is set to be married tomorrow to the Shogun -- loosely translated as "Royal Ugly Dude" -- feels like the kind of thing that pops up from time to time in time-travel fiction...but Bill & Ted is the most obvious one for us. LOST - "If I've learned one thing from Lost, it's that you don't go opening secret hatches." This is one of a couple of not-so-subtle pop culture references this week. Typically those don't make the "Easter eggs" lists, but we're acknowledging more of them this year since last season we had lots of fans chiming in to let us know that we "missed" them in the comments. Obviously, that's a reference to the long-running network drama LOST, one of the big mysteries of which revolved around a hatch into an underground chamber which, rather than providing the answers the characters hoped, only resulted in more questions. 2056 - There are a few superheroes -- notably The Flash and Green Lantern -- who have spent time in the not-too-distant future quite a bit in their careers, but the year 2056 doesn't come up specifically in the comics. Where it does come up is in Young Justice, the animated series in which Barry Allen's grandson Bart (Impulse/Kid Flash/Flash) played a key role. In that version of the story, Bart comes from a future where The Reach has conquered Earth and travels back in time to join Young Justice, which in part could potentially help to alter that dark future. MASTER YODA  - Of course, almost anyone would know that the reference to Ray Palmer's "sensei" Yoda, who shared the wisdom "do or do not; there is no try," is a nod to The Empire Strikes Back, in which the diminutive Jedi Master trained Luke Skywalker to harness the Force. THE SOULTAKER - It's established by the end of the episode that the young woman Nate wanted to help was pretty capable of defending herself under normal circumstances. She's from the clan Yamashiro, which if you don't recognize, you ought to. Not only did her descendant Tatsu Yamashiro and her husband Maseo recur throughout season 3 of Arrow, but Tatsu also appeared in this summer's Suicide Squad movie in her costumed identity as Katana. That sword? It's the Soultaker which, in the comics and in the Suicide Squad movie, absorbs the soul energy of the people killed with it. And the description of those who have seen her on the set is that she wears all black. Put that with the executive producer Wendy Mericle saying that Green Arrow needs Black Canary and the spoiler-ish trailer telling us that the Laurel Lance we've seen is the Earth-2 version… this is making people on-line question if Tina Boland will become the new Black Canary. Earth-1 Laurel asked Ollie to not let the Black Canary end with her. Only the Earth-2 Laurel solves the problem of the Canary Cry being natural, but having her go through a full redemption arc compared to bringing in a new character all together might make Tina the better choice. We know she ends up joining with Team Arrow against Prometheus… but will she do it in a familiar black outfit? Dinah Laurel Lance - Full-naming your fiancee while doing cutesy talk isn't entirely unheard-of, but here it's a nice little reminder that, yes, Laurel is actually Dinah Lance from the comics, the longtime Justice League and Birds of Prey member known as the Black Canary. Laurel's necklace is the Black Canary logo from the comics Oliver and Company - The reference, in case you missed it the first hundred times we used it or when Cisco explained it this week, is to a Disney animated film from the '80s. It was a musical comedy about a group of streetwise dogs who take in a small, orange cat, in which the soundtrack was primarily driven by Billy Joel, whose biggest fan is probably Arrow EP Marc Guggenheim. Per Guggenheim, he made the Oliver and Company joke in the script, but it was actor Carlos Valdes who added the Billy Joel nod. The Hozen - In the pilot, Oliver gave Thea a Hōzen (宝箭) -- an arrowhead-shaped stone he found around the neck of a dead Japanese soldier on Lian Yu. In the pilot, he told her -- as she tells him this week -- that in Japanese Buddhism, the hōzen symbolizes reconnecting. Palmer's Buyout Offer - The Palmer Technologies buyout of Queen Consolidated came in season 3 of the TV show, but apparently here, Palmer was hovering around Queen as soon as he heard Robert Queen was thinking of stepping down. Van Horn Industries - Van Horn Industries is the name of a company owned by the family of Andrew Van Horn, a superhero known as Gunfire. Gunfire was created during the Bloodlines attack, a '90s attempt to create a bunch of new superheroes by giving them a common starting point: an alien invasion where some of the victims of parasitic, cannibalistic aliens survived and gained powers. Hood Sketch - Along with Diggle under the hood, we get a look at the original Hood sketch and newspaper clippings that made up part of the Starling City Police Department's Rip Hunter-style chalkboard looking for the Arrow in season 1. MY NAME IS OLIVER QUEEN - When Oliver starts to introduce himself, he goes with "My name is Oliver Queen," just like he does in the voice over at the start of nearly every episode. Felicity hilariously cuts him off with "everyone knows who you are." Which serves the story -- he's a famous, wealthy socialite -- and the meta-text of the episode. CHICAGO MED - That roundabout thing about how Tommy is a doctor in Chicago now, and he just couldn't break away from his long shifts to come visit for the wedding? That's a whole lot of meta, talking about actor Colin Donnell, who played Tommy in season 1 and has periodically come back in flashbacks and other such stories. Donnell couldn't come for the hundredth episode because he's now a regular on Chicago Med, which is in production and couldn't spare him. THE PATH NOT TAKEN - This story seem familiar? In the interview, when asked about Lillian's means justifying the end, she said, “That is such a great moral question. Everybody could ask themselves that and come up with a whole slew of different answers. It just goes back to the question of, when is it right to do the wrong thing? That opens up a whole can of worms about good and evil, black and white. Where's the gray? Ultimately, she isn't crazy, but she's definitely committed to the end. It does justify the means for her. Obviously, she's been willing to sacrifice any kind of personal relationships with this single-minded focus.
