1939 In Provincetown Massachusetts, a group of children were walking down the street late one night when a shadowy figured appeared before them. The 8-foot-tall phantom hissed at the children and flashed its glowing red eyes, terrifying the boys. Before they could run, the monster disappeared in a flash, leaving nothing but the look of terror on the children's faces behind. Over the course of the next 7 years, sightings like the ones made by the children would continue to occur around October in the seaside town. All reports included a large, ominous figure which was completely black who could appear and disappear instantly. Most of our scores are weighted heavily towards Siege play in the very top rankings. How the categories break out: S-Tier: More exclusive then before, the best of the best. Fit into almost any comp and is pretty much a roster requirement to compete in the highest levels of the game. A-Tier: Very solid characters. Characters that are either versatile or extremely good at their job and you will never regret gearing them. In this list are your counter characters and just all around great toons. B-Tier: These are "good" characters but sometimes need a team built around them or they compliment a specific team. There is often a superior option to them, but they are still pretty good depending on the situation. C-Tier: These characters are more situational. They also can be pretty "meh" characters most of the time, but can excel in a specific comp. Most probably need a rework to shine. T-Tier: This is your trash tier characters that desperately need a rework. F-tier! Toon of the Month: If you notice the glow around a character, he/she is the Siege toon of the month! On this edition of Parallax Views' #HalloweenPodcastMassacreSeries, "The Historian of the Strange" Robert Damon Schneck shares with us macabre and ghoulish tales of autoerotic asphyxiation, man in black attacks, homicidal preachers, and... bigfoot porn?Robert Damon Schneck is the author of The President's Vampire: Strange-but-True Tales of the United States of America (later re-issued as The Bye Bye Man: And Other Strange-but-True Tales) and Mrs. Wakeman Vs. the Antichrist: And Other Strange-but-True Tales from American History. He covers all things eerie, strange, and "Fortean", but from a perspective closer to a folklorist than a believer in the paranormal. For Schneck whether or not strange stories have a paranormal explanation makes them no less strange and ultimately his interest is in what these stories say about our history.Lately, Schneck has been investigating the history of auto-erotic asphyxiation. That is to say the phenomenon of people, mostly men, who cut off their own oxygen supply for sexual pleasure. Yes, it's weird but has become well-known thanks to the death of Kill Bill actor David Carradine. Carradine's death led to the phenomenon being more widely hear of and since then it has even been the punchline of jokes in sitcoms and TV shows like South Park. However, auto-erotic asphyxiation didn't become a named phenomenon until the 1980s due to the work of researchers like forensic psychiatrist Park Dietz. Schneck's research delves into cases before the 1980s that are otherwise inexplicable without the auto-erotic asphyxiation explanation. From there we delve into a potential mass panic in 1935 involving a a person being beaten by a man in black using a silver ball. Yes, it does sound like a scene straight out of the cult classic horror franchise Phantasm featuring the villainous "Tall Man" played by Angus Scrimm. We then discuss other weird stories from America's past concerning "Man in Black" figures including the story of the Black Flash and tying in the tales of phantom leapers, like Spring-Heeled Jack, into our discussion. From there we pivot to a potpourri of strangeness that is wide-ranging and cover many different cases and even some movie talk! Among the other topics covered:- The serial child attacker known as the "Los Angeles Witch Woman"- A vile Detroit serial killer known who became nicknamed "Bigfoot"- Strangeness involving serial killers, specifically Charles Starkweather's weird journal entry claiming to have met a supernatural creature in his childhood (he called it "Death") and the Yosemite Killer Cary Stayner's peculiar obsession with sasquatch- Weird movie discussion! Strange Bigfoot movies involving Sasquatches ripping off people's lower parts, a one where Bigfoot is an interdimensional demon, and, yes, the existence of, believe it or not, Bigfoot erotica. On this weeks episode of Expanded Perspectives the guys start the show off talking about how bee populations around the world have been in decline for years due to a number of reasons that make it extremely difficult to fix the problem. Urban development, insecticides, fungicides, illness, climate change, and many other factors have been determined to be responsible for the decline in bee populations. This week, the nonprofit Bee Informed Partnership and the Apiary Inspectors of America published their annual survey of 4,963 beekeepers in the United States and it seems that we still have a problem. But it was a slightly better year for our vital pollinating friends. Then, millions of Americans say they engage in extreme binge drinking — or downing at least eight to 10 drinks containing alcohol on a single occasion — and the behavior appears to be on the rise in the U.S., according to a new report. The findings are concerning because this high level of drinking is linked with health and safety risks, including an increased risk of injury or even death, according to the researchers, from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA). The study "reveals that a large number of people in the United States drink at very high levels and underscores the dangers associated with such 'extreme' binge drinking," George F. Koob, director of the NIAAA, said in a statement. The researchers analyzed information from more than 36,000 Americans ages 18 and older who completed a survey about their alcohol consumption in 2012 to 2013. The researchers asked the participants to report the maximum number of alcoholic drinks they consumed on a single day in the past year. Binge drinking was defined as consuming four or more drinks on a single occasion (for women), or five or more drinks on a single occasion (for men), while extreme binge drinking was defined as consuming double those amounts, or more. Then, for years, scientists have debated whether heavy inland snowfall on the vast East Antarctic Ice Sheet — Earth’s largest — balances out the rapid melting in West Antarctica. Given enough snowfall, the continent might not yet be contributing to sea level rise. Most research shows the melt rate is so high that the continent is indeed losing ice. But in 2015, a group of NASA scientists published a controversial study that found Antarctica was instead gaining ice. The NASA team combined space- and land-based measurements and found so much snow dropping in East Antarctica that even with drastic melting elsewhere, the continent was adding some 80 billion tons of ice annually. It contradicted prominent previous findings — including reports from the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The result drew global headlines and excited climate change skeptics. That’s despite warnings from the study’s lead author, NASA Goddard’s chief cryospheric scientist Jay Zwally, who predicted that melting would outpace increased snowfall in a decade or two. Then, An Arizona witness traveling by train through Apache County reported watching and photographing six hovering, “two-story” objects beaming light to the ground level. After the break Cam brings up the incredible tale of "The Black Flash". Shadowy figures have long haunted the pages of history. From ghosts to goblins to things less mentionable, the human psyche has a habit of inventing monsters to inhabit the dark reaches of the unknown. Several such figures have been chronicled: the Halifax Slasher, the London Monster, and Spring-Heeled Jack, to name a few. Aruba, Jamaica, oh I want to take ya, Bermuda, Bahama, come on pretty mama Key Largo, Montego, baby why don't we go… back to 1916 and run into our past selves causing a paradox and perhaps destroying time itself! Synopsis Seriously though, we could be on the beach, drinking mai tai’s with girls in bikinis. Anyway, Rip discovered he was miniaturized in Star Labs and made a break for the nearest open window to rendezvous with the rest of the team. Rory laughs at mini Rip and shakes the Waverider around like a toy. Puzzled, the team ask him why the Legion used the Spear of Destiny to shrink him and he informs them he must have used Ray’s Atom suit. The Legends head to Star Labs to recover the suit and are interrupted by Damien Darhk. Rory saves Ray and Jax so Ray can restore the Waverider and Rip to the correct dimensions. The Waverider busts out of Star Labs and the team explains the plan to Rip. In 1916, the Legends come-up with a plan to steal the Spear of Destiny and destroy it. Step 1: recover the blood of Christ from its burial place in no man’s land. Ray uncovers the blood of Christ easily and is confronted by Eobard Thawne. He shatters the vial and rips Ray’s heart from his chest, killing future Ray. The Legends reconvene on the Waverider to come-up with a different plan now that one of their ranks has been killed. They decide to send Rory, Nate and Rip onto the Waverider in 1916 and steal the Spear while their past selves are off at the church looking for burial place of Sir Gawain. All goes, awkwardly, according to plan until Nate becomes distracted by Amaya and is late meeting Rory and Rip. The delay causes their past selves to return to the Waverider before they can leave. The 1916 Legends sense that something is awry and unknowingly capture their future selves. As the Legends, past and future, meet one another, a time quake rocks the Waverider. The Legion has discovered the Waverider and attack, attempting to catch both sets of Legends by surprise and recover the Spear to ensure Doomworld. The Legends come-up with a plan when an attempt to time jump goes horribly wrong and they cause a time storm. The Waverider’s time drive is damaged and the past Legends need to make a break for the other Waverider to ensure the safety of the Spear. The future Legends take-on the Legion and are killed one by one until only Sara and Rip are left. After subduing Darhk and Snart, the Legends are confronted by Reverse Flash with several time remnants to help him combat the Legends and recover the Spear. As a last resort, Sara uses the Spear and ensures Doomworld will never come to pass. Just when Thawne thinks he has the better of them, he discovers the Spear has been depowered and the Black Flash has been summoned to destroy him, once and for all? With the Spear depowered and reality intact, Sara, the last remaining future Legend, fades from existence. The “past” Legends return Snart and Darhk to their places in the timeline and the team returns to the Waverider to find Rip is departing. After all their hard work, Rory attempts to plot a course to Aruba 2017, but a time storm rocks the Waverider and lands them in LA 2017. Eobard Thawne takes on Jack Swigert’s identity and hitches a ride to the moon on the Apollo 13 mission. The Legends track down Commander Steel to convince him to turn over his piece of the Spear for safekeeping. Synopsis Rip Hunter leaves Henry Heywood in 1965 with the final piece of the Spear of Destiny. He disappears into the crowd as Rip Hunter leads the Legends to the exact spot where he left him, but Commander Steel has already disappeared. The Legends return to the ship and deduce that Henry Heywood must be working for NASA. Sara commands the team to infiltrate NASA and locate Henry. Rip and Ray find Henry preparing to brief the press on the mission. As Rip approaches Henry and holds out his hand, Henry punches Rip in the face. He takes proper press credentials pretty seriously! Sara, Nate and Amaya join Ray and Henry who has locked Rip in a room. They explain why they have come for him in 1970 and he assures them his piece of the Spear is safe because it is not any where on Earth. He’s hidden it inside the flag Neil Armstrong planted on the moon. As soon as the Odyssey goes radio silent, Eobard Thawne resumes his own identity after knocking out the other astronauts. He heads into the lunar module just as miniaturized Ray enters the command module and spots him. Ray tries to stow away with him, but Thawne sees him and an epic space fight ensues. Thanks to zero gravity, Thawne cannot use his superspeed and both are on an equal playing field. Ray shoots Thawne with his phaser and disengages the lunar module. It’s now up to Ray to land the lunar module on the moon. Back on Earth, Jax, Stein and Rory are posing as British controllers. Sara radios down to let them know Ray is about to crash land on the moon and Stein quickly comes-up with a plan to distract the room of flight controllers while Jax cuts the feed. Daylight come and me won go home! Ray more or less lands safely on the moon without enough fuel to launch the LEM back into space. While he retrieves the piece of the Spear, the rest of the Legends onboard the Waverider rescue the command module which is headed straight for an asteroid field. Rip and Sara argue about the best course of action and she ultimately uses the Waverider to shield the command module from the asteroids, causing irreparable damage to the ship. All nonessential systems are shut down, including Gideon. Sara gives Ray the bad news and lets him know he will have to find a way off the moon on his own. With the damage to the Waverider, she won’t be able to pick him up as planned. Thawne convinces Ray that he needs his help and they form a temporary alliance to reroute the dwarf star energy from Ray’s suit to fuel the LEM and reconnect with the command module. On Sara’s mark, they launch the LEM and head straight for the command module, which Sara maneuvers in place with the tractor beam. Eobard is escorted immediately to the brig. With the Odyssey intact on the way home, our team celebrates. Dr. Stein, however, has done the math and realizes it will be next to impossible for the Legends to reenter the Earth’s atmosphere. Luckily, their prisoner is an expert in astronavigation and already knows the angle at which the Waverider needs to reenter the Earth’s atmosphere to remain intact. Unfortunately, they are one degree off the right angle and the only way to correct is to open the cargo bay, by hand. First Rip, then Sara, volunteer, but Henry has already left. Rip coaches him through opening the door as Nate runs to talk him out of it. His son is waiting in mission control. Henry tells Nate to give Hank a message and opens the cargo door. The Waverider is now on course to safely enter the Earth’s atmosphere. As soon as the Legends land, Eobard phases through the glass and Ray keeps him talking just long enough for his Black Flash alarm to go off. Thawne speeds off with no time to look for the other pieces of the Spear. The last time we saw the city on Arrow was when Esrin Fortuna helped Oliver take on Damien Darhk...and of course, when Hub City started to show up in showrunner Marc Guggenheim's tweets this year, there was plenty of speculation that he was teasing The Question. Turns out, he was teasing the Black Canary! BIG BELLY BURGER - Big Belly Burger, a fictional fast-food restaurant in the DC Universe, is the fast food of choice for people who are in hiding, in jail, or otherwise cut off from the world on The Flash. Here, we saw Team Arrow hanging out there in Hub City while Felicity got it delivered to her in the Arrowcave during her side quest. FAMILY SECRET - When Talia refers to her agelessness as a "family secret," it's the kind of cutesy clue that Nyssa used to drop in her early appearances, where she didn't directly name-drop Ra's al Ghul or the Lazarus Pit, but made references that were pretty clear to people in the know. Back then, of course, we always wondered whether Ra's would ever make an appearance. Now, he's come and gone, and we know that this kind of vague dialogue is mostly to keep continuity tidy so that Oliver doesn't realize exactly who he's dealing with when Ra's and Nyssa come in later. THE FLASH & CAPTAIN SINGH - In what Marc Guggenheim tweeted was the quickest crossover Arrow has ever done with The Flash, we got to see Barry speed (in costume) into his boss's office to vouch for Green Arrow. What's nice to see is Captain Singh, Barry's boss, who hasn't been seen much this season. It felt a bit like last night, when the long-absent Miss Tessmacher from Supergirl had a quick cameo on The Flash. SONUS - Sean Sonus, alias Discord is a sonic villain who fights Green Arrow and Black Canary. He first appeared in Green Arrow and Black Canary #15, and was co-created by Arrow EP Andrew Kreisberg and artist Mike Norton. DINAH DRAKE - "Dinah Drake" is actually the name of the original/Earth-2 Black Canary, who existed in the comics before Dinah Lance did. Later, she married a man named Larry Lance and subsequently changed her name to Dinah Lance. Inspired by Dinah, her daughter Dinah Laurel Lance would go on to become a founding member of the Justice League. When the New 52 restarted DC Comics' continuity, the Black Canary legacy was retconned, and Dinah Drake was restored as the one and only Black Canary. (Date: 01 Feb 2017) Helix was a supervillain group led by Dr. Benjamin Love, aka Mr. Bones. The members were six mutated children who had been experimented on and then kidnapped by Love. They grew up to be a rather bizarre cast of characters, including Kritter (a human/dog hybrid) and Baby Boom (a young child who can cause explosions with her mind). It's safe to assume that any future appearances of Helix will certainly be way more grounded in reality - with any mention of the original characters probably being used as online screennames. This is similar to the inclusion of the secret organization Shadowspire in Arrow, which was given a much more realistic makeover. When recently discussing the dynamic between Felicity and Diggle going forward, Arrow executive-producer Wendy Mericle mentioned that the events in 'Second Chances' will play into the rest of the season. "Part of what kicks [Felicity] off down this darker path is she's going to find evidence to exonerate him -- and [Diggle's] going to have to deal with the fallout of the fact that Felicity is now going down a questionable path in part because of him." With that in mind, there's a very good chance that tonight's episode will not be the last time we hear of Helix on Arrow. The Justice Society of America was conceived by editor Sheldon Mayer and writer Gardner Fox. The JSA first appeared in All Star Comics #3 (Winter 1940–1941). VIXEN - Probably the most recognizable member of the JSA's cast this time around was Vixen -- at least for fans of the CWverse. In addition to having her own animated series, Vixen -- an African-American woman who derives the power of animals from the Tantu Totem she wears around her neck -- had a memorable guest appearance on Arrow last season. Of course, that's all Mari. This woman? Mari's grandmother, Amaya Jiwe, who passed the totem down through their family. HOURMAN - Rex Tyler, also known as Hourman, is a Golden Age superhero and the first of a number of characters to use the Hourman name. Tyler has a number of superhuman abilities, like enhanced strength, reflexes, and healing -- but only for an hour at a time. His abilities are given to him by Miraclo, a drug he designed himself. There is an Hourman legacy including Rex's son Rick and an android from the 853rd Century programmed to act as a member of the Tyler family. The android, at a point in the past, presented Rex with an hourglass infused with tachyons -- time in its most basic form -- and that hourglass would become part of both his and Rick's costumes. Said hourglass has been seen on board the Waverider on previous episodes of DC's Legends of Tomorrow.. STARGIRL - Stargirl is Courtney Whitmore. In the TV series, she exists in 1942 -- but in the original comics, she was created (and existed) in 1999, and was part of a "next generation" of Justice Society members who came up in the late '90s and early 2000s. Courtney Whitmore was created by Geoff Johns and Lee Moder, and has a famous backstory: Johns named her after (and based her personality on) his sister Courtney, who died in the explosion of TWA Flight 800 in 1996. COMMANDER STEEL - Commander Steel is Hank Heywood, Sr., the first in a line of DC heroes to use variations on the Steel moniker. A legend in the World War II era and a member of the All-Star Squadron and later the Justice Society of America, Heywood's body had surgically-implanted mechanized steel devices that allowed his body to work on a superhuman level. Originally just "Steel," he was promoted to Commander Steel by President Roosevelt in 1940 -- so while this is his first appearance in live action, it's timeline-accurate to call him Commander Steel by this point in his career since the story takes place in 1942. DOCTOR MID-NITE - Doctor Mid-Nite is a name shared by a number of blind super-heroes and physicians with the ability to see in the darkness, using blackout bombs and martial arts to gain an advantage over criminals. Doctor Mid-Nite was created by Charles Reizenstein and Stan Aschmeier, first appearing in All-American Comics #25. OBSIDIAN - Obsidian is the son of Golden Age Green Lantern Alan Scott, a founding member of the JSA in the comics. He and his sister Jade would go on to play an important role in the Justice Society's sinoff groups the Young All-Stars and Infinity, Inc., as well as eventually joining the Justice Society itself. He was also briefly affiliated with the Justice League. LEAVENWORTH - The United States Penitentiary, Leavenworth is a medium-security United States federal prison for male inmates in northeast Kansas. On Arrow, it was revealed that Leavenworth is where John Diggle is being held while awaiting his court martial. KRIEGER - There are basically two figures who could have inspired Baron Krieger, even though there is no specific Baron Krieger in DC Comics. The first is Baron Blitzkrieg: Originally a World War II German army officer, the man who would be Baron Blitzkrieg was blinded when a concentration camp prisoner threw acid into his face. German scientists experimented on him, giving him injections of experimental drugs which would give him incredible powers for brief periods of time. The other possibility is Albrecht Krieger, who was basically Captain America, but for Nazis. A genetically-modified super-soldier, Krieger also had a mad scientist brother and a psychic sister we might have to worry about if it's him -- and while the backstory feels a lot more like Blitzkrieg's, Krieger has not only the name but the general look of this week's threat. MAX LORENZ - Max Lorenz was a famous singer, who lived in Germany around the time of World War II and is widely known as "Hitler's favorite tenor." Of course, it's a handy thing that Legends of Tomorrow star Victor Garber has the pipes to make that scene convincing. UBERMENSCH - It's worth noting that there are several references to "Übermensch" in here, which is derived from Nietzsche in Thus Spake Zarathustra, one of the influences for Superman, which is more or less what the word translates to directly. The term can literally translate to "Overman," which in the DC Comics universe is an alternate-universe version of Superman who lives on an Earth where the Nazis won World War II.REVERSE-FLASH - Eobard Thawne, the Reverse-Flash, may have something up his sleeve. At the end of The Flash's Season 3 premiere earlier this month, he said that while his future was as it should be, Barry's might not be. Barry then went home to discover a number of small anomalies that made his life and those of his friends worse. Now, we learn that "somebody" is outfitting the villains of history with future tech in order to push the world to a slightly worse place. Could Eobard Thawne have stepped right out of "Flashpoint" and into "Out of Time?" Either way, seeing him and Darhk together is enough to make seasoned Arrowverse fans quake in their boots even before they know the other members of Thawne's little Legion of Doom. ARROW NEWS THE CW RENEWS ARROW, FLASH, SUPERGIRL AND LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (Date: 08 Jan 2017) Renewal will bring “Arrow” to Season Six, “The Flash” to Season Four, and “Supergirl” and “Legends of Tomorrow” each to Season Three. It will mark “Supergirl's” second season on The CW, following its freshman outing on CBS. However, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), still reeling from Detective Malone's murder, is bent on revenge – she wants to stop Prometheus at any cost. While in prison, Diggle (David Ramsey) fights for his life. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Ben Sokolowski & Brian Ford Sullivan. Guggenheim also teased that Felicity will a meet a few people in the back half of the season that are connected to her past. Additionally, he explained that Felicity's new, darker direction can't be blamed solely on Billy Malone's death. Rather, her experiences over the course of the show will culminate in her new attitude. “Billy was the final straw,” he said. “It's also the sum of the fact that Felicity has been living in this darker world for the last four-plus years now…. How has that affected her way of thinking about things?” He added that this will be directly addressed in Season 5 Episode 11. While her motivations remain unknown, Arrow producer Greg Berlanti has teased the character's involvement in more than just the events of Arrow's fifth season. “We made a deal at the end of [season 4] to bring her back for a bunch of episodes. Katie is a part of the fabric of the show. Because the show, like a comic book, can move in different ways, and characters go and come, everybody that's ever been a part of the key and core ensemble has always had a place at the table for our show. There's the capacity for her to be [in all four shows]. However, when the team arrives they discover that Rip has no memories of his past due to “time drift” and is just a graduate film student. After trying to convince Rip of who he was, they discover that he possesses an incredibly powerful artifact known as the Spear of Destiny, which the Legion of Doom is after. Ray (Bradon Routh) and Nate (Nick Zano) realize that the Aberration has also affected them personally making it difficult to help the team. Meanwhile, Rory (Dominic Purcell) asks Stein (Victor Garber) for help and makes him promise to keep it a secret from the team. Caity Lotz, Franz Drameh and Maisie Richardson-Sellers also star. That batch of episodes starts with an episode titled “Raiders of the Lost Art,” which guest stars a young George Lucas (or rather an actor named Matt Angel playing a young Lucas) and features the return of Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill). But Rip won't return the same as we previously knew him. Marc Guggenheim talked about the upcoming episodes and how the Spear of Destiny will impact the show. “The second half of the season is really paying off the Legion of Doom and what we now know is the MacGuffin of Season 2, the Spear of Destiny,” said Guggenheim. “Changing time is like painting with the biggest paintbrush possible; using the Spear of Destiny is like using a very, very fine-point technical pen.” Link: http://www.cbr.com/new-legends-of-tomorrow-eps-will-star-a-whole-different-rip-hunter/ The Girl Of Steel Visits Another World In Synopsis For Kevin Smith's Episode Of SUPERGIRL (Date: 05 Jan 2017) KEVIN SMITH DIRECTS; ROULETTE RETURNS — Kara (Melissa Benoist) is moved by the story of a missing woman named Izzy (guest star Harley Quinn Smith) and decides to investigate despite Snapper Carr's (guest star Ian Gomez) order to leave it alone. Kara takes Mon-El (Chris Wood) with her to the last place Izzy was seen and the duo find themselves thrust through a portal to another planet, Slaver's Moon, where the downtrodden are sold as slaves. The leader of the trafficking ring is none other than Roulette (guest star Dichen Lachman). To make matters worse, Slaver's Moon has a red sun, which means Kara and Mon-El are stripped of their powers and stuck on the planet with no way home. Meanwhile, back on Earth, Alex (Chyler Leigh) blames herself for Kara's disappearance, fearing she's become too focused on her new relationship with Maggie (guest star Floriana Lima) and too complacent in watching out for her sister. When a criminal named Plunder (guest star Stephen Huszar) shows up in Central City, Barry recalls the villain's presence in his vision of the future and fears that if he catches Plunder, it will cement Iris' fate. Confused about Barry's hesitation to stop Plunder, Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) decides to step in as Kid Flash. Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) offers Julian (Tom Felton) a job. Millicent Shelton directed the episode written by Grainne Godfree & David Kob. According to executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, the two-part story will have lasting ramifications on both shows. According to Kreisberg. “When we get to the musical episodes, both Barry and Kara will find themselves at pivotal crossroads on their respective series, and the experience of going through the musical will have a great impact on both series moving forward.” Executive producer Greg Berlanti confirmed the villain will indeed be the Music Meister, who can control people through song. What's more, the musical crossover will feature original songs and could include characters from any Earth or timeline in the “Arrow”-verse. No date has been announced for “The Flash”/”Supergirl” crossover. The series will also introduce a new telepathic gorilla straight from the comics, Solovar. Keith David will provide the voice of Solovar in the Gorilla Grodd-centric two-parter. David is a film and television veteran with a career spanning decades. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg announced the return of Grodd and Gorilla City during a presentation at the TCAs. Kreisberg also revealed that the two-parter will span multiple Earths. “One of the episodes will take place in Gorilla City [on Earth-2], and one of them will take place on Earth-1.” In the comics, Solovar — a psychic gorilla like Grodd — is the leader of Gorilla City. Under his rule, Gorilla City became a technological wonder. Solovar's involvement in “The Flash's” Grodd/Gorilla City two-parter makes sense considering that Solovar is Grodd's main rival (other than the Scarlet Speedster) in the comics. However, when the character returns, it may not only be on that CW drama — and he may not be portrayed by Teddy Sears. Transformed by time wraiths into Black Flash and then pulled into the Speed Force in “The Flash's” Season Two finale, the villain will indeed race back into the Arrowverse.“I will say that you might be seeing him on multiple shows,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour. You loved our first episode wrapping up all the DC's show so much, we just HAD to give you Towlites part two. This episode is all about Flash and Arrow. One of them is super happy and fun and seems to be going in a cool direction, one of them is poop on toast. Listen to the episode or read the show notes to find out which one we prefer! SHOW NOTES Arrow: Overall thoughts on season: Pros: Becomes Green Arrow Constantine and Sara’s return The Calculator played by Tom Amandes, it was kinda cool that they made him felicity’s dad Vixen (Mari McCabe same as cartoon), great way to intro the animated character in. Want to see more of her Damian Darke played Neil McDonough (baby face) was ok bad guy A little lighter, I guess.. He’s still not that funny. Hopefully the Flashpoint will fix all that, compare to rebirth Fight scenes were cool Diggle killing his brother. FINALLY Curtis Holt played by echo Kellum (Mister Terrific in the comics). Get rid of felicity and use him. Crossover episodes were good Cons: Still trying too hard to be TV Batman Magic is your big thing this season and it’s used poorly (outside of Vixen) Killed Black Canary and Felicity lives?! BORING Why is Malcolm still on this show? The “I protect my daughter is getting old” Who gives a fuck about Cooper and Lonnie Machin. Both characters are minorly introduced and then play major parts. WHO GIVES A FUCK. If you are going to use a big bad like Anarky then do it right. He’s not some “thug”. Thoughts on Finale: Pros: Oliver becomes Mayor Team disbands. If you’re not going to kill everyone GOT style then this was the best solution Cons: Made a drinking game by saying the word hope How does oliver shoot damian in the face and let an arrow go into a crowd Why didn’t HIVE shoot everyone? How did Oliver absorb magic? The WHOLE point of the flashbacks this season was to justify killing and to have him go to Russia. Why is Diggle allowed back into the Military? Where the hell did all the nukes go?! It was this huge threat that was just casually taken care of Constanine not coming back and fake zzantana Flash: Overall thoughts on season: Pros: Kept it’s cheer and hope even with Barry going through tough times Zoom was a good bad guy. But I’m ready for some new non-Speed Force villains Gorilla City, Dr Light, King Shark, Turtle, The Rogues (Mark Hamill) Multiverse introduction. Earth 2 was fun. Doppelgangers Harry. They found a great way to bring back the character better than before Wally West jessie Cisco true to form. Pop culture references. Getting his powers and being a badass Kevin Smith episode Crossover episodes were good Cons: Olly can’t go to barry’s dads funeral? Caitlin Snow took a back seat. Damsel in distress. Patty :( Comes back from Supergirl earth and says nothing? Thoughts on Finale: Pros: Amazing. Fucking John Wesley Shipp as Jay Garrick. Another JSA member is added to possible roster. We will have to see how Legends treats it Flashpoint storyline opened up… what will the ramifications be? Will they stick if so? Mention the Flashpoint “chair” that helped him get powers back Black Flash?! Created by Mark Millar and Grant Morrison Cons: Kinda wanted to see a hint at Wally’s powers Barry and Iris finally get together and then he decides it’s best to go and change time. When he has been warned so many times, why would he selfishly do it this time.. The duo also rant and discuss the recent outburst from comic book fans regarding the new direction of Captain America and where his allegience lies, lets just say its not something you'd expect and its driven people to burning copies of the comic and sending hate mail and death threats to the current writer, Nick Spencer. They guys also discuss the finale of this seasons Flash and what it means now that Zoom has been defeated (and is now Black Flash...maybe?), The Man in the Mask, aka Jay Garrick, has been freed, and then Barry negates everything (maybe?) by going back in time...again. Mike rants about Fear the Walking Dead's finale and how not developing characters, especially main ones means four words: Who. The. Fuck. Cares? But is most likely going to continue watching it.
