It's week two of my Pride 2025 Feature and this week I'm so excited to get to hang out with two of my favorite people in comics and returning guests, Josh Trujillo and GLAAD Nominated Jude Doyle. Josh and Jude have multiple projects in the new DC Pride Special, now in it's fifth year, including one developing new DC trans character Ethan Rivera. I've already picked it up and found this new formatting where there's a common narrative thread that connects all the stories incredibly powerful. We also get to talk about one of my new favorite characters the snarky Blue Snowman and how things are looking representationally with queer characters and creators in the medium. Josh's Website Josh on BlueSky Jude's Website Jude on BlueSky DC PRIDE SPECIAL 2025 From the publisher DC Pride 2025 brings DC's heroes together when a century-old tavern, the center of queer life in Gotham City, unexpectedly announces its imminent closure. It's a huge loss to the community, and generations of patrons return to pay respects to a space they've endowed with entire lifetimes of memories, wishes and dreams—including Alan Scott, the Green Lantern. Alan returns, for one last time, to the place he fell for his first love, Johnny Ladd, to touch the wall on which they carved the symbol of their love, to remember the days before everything went to hell for them...and to say goodbye. But love is a kind of magic, and, in Alan's experience, magic can take on a life of its own. Before anyone knows it's happening, heroes, villains, and civilians alike from across the DCU with powerful ties to this mysterious place—the Question, Midnighter and Apollo, Harley Quinn, Green Lantern Jo Mullein, Bunker, Connor Hawke, and Blue Snowman among them—find themselves spirited away to strange, alternate worlds where everything they ever thought they wanted can be theirs…but at what cost? We're gonna rock down to... electric Superman?!!! Yes, Electric Superman has entered the chat. So has Tomorrow Girl, a few angels from Actual Heaven, Connor Hawke (son of original Green Arrow) and Starro. We cover a lot in this segment! We talk about how Superman is still Superman, even with new powers. We talk about how the "Green Arrow vs Overpowered Villain" story is still good in its own right even though it seems pretty similar to a classic Superman tale. And we talk just about how much we are enjoying the many moments of grand superheroism! __ SHOW INFORMATION Twitter: @ScrewItComics Instagram: @ScrewItComics Email: ScrewItComics@gmail.com Subscribe: Apple Podcasts Subscribe: Spotify

Jace and Rocky from Comic Boom! chat about the DC books for the week of June 22, 2021. In the pages of Justice League #63 Naomi officially joins the the league while in the back up Justice League Dark story, we meet a new potential female member of that team. Detective Comics #1038 has a big brawl between Batman & Roland Worth with what we expect is the Magistrate pulling the strings, while the back-up shows that the Penguin may want to return to some former glory. Checkmate #1 brings back all the familiar players from the previous Leviathan events, but can Mark Shaw truly maintain control of all the intelligence assets of the DC Universe? Wonder Woman Black & Gold #1 has some truly astounding art with some great stories that provide wonderful insight into who Diana is. We get more Wonder Woman in #774 as Diana finds the gods of Olympus have been killed, but she is not about to let them remain in the Graveyard of the Gods without trying to rescue them. Harley Quinn #4 shows Harley bouncing back from the events of #3 and choosing to bring the fight to Hugo Strange and rescue her new sidekick Kevin. Mister Miracle #2 continues this excellent series as Shilo Norman's identity may be compromised and the fallout from that may be tremendous. How will he deal with this possible disaster while being attacked by N'ver Free, who claims to be the true child of Scott & Barda? Teen Titans Academy #4 is a Bat Pack investigation into the identity of Red X, but are the kids on the right track? Superman #32 finishes up the series as Superman and Jon are able to rescue the Thakkramites from the Shadowbreed. On the heels of that rescue it's clear the Kal-El is very proud of his son. Robin #3 shows us the first interaction between Damian and Connor Hawke, but it is the surprise guest appearance at the end of the issue that may be even more important. Action Comics #1032 reveals that the suspected Kryptonians imprisoned on War World may be a group that fled Krypton thousands of years before the planet exploded. One thing is for sure, whether these prisoners are Kryptonian or not, Superman will not let them remain enslaved. Batman Superman #19 gives us some really fun version of Superman Batman and Robin in different time periods. Each of the era's is illustrated by a different artist and it really helps to bring the comic to life. This comic is so much fun, we hate that it is ended with #22. Batman Reptilian has amazing art that brings to life this great version of Batman who has a little more of an edge than readers of the conventional version of the Caped Crusader may be used to. Infinite Frontier #1 has some interesting threads but it isn't 100% clear yet how things may all fit together, but the Psycho Pirate and last page reveal were favorite moments for the guys.
Benny and Sal cover the latest comics of the week.

Better late than never! We talk about the all-flashforward episode, "Star City: 2040". It was... AMAZING. We officially love and protect Mia Smoak, Connor Hawke and William Clayton-Harris-Queen-Smoak. They are our children and we want to see a lot more of them in the future!

Kellum posted to Twitter: I'm so thankful to have been a part of this amazing show for the last four years. It has truly been a pleasure to get to work with such wonderful human beings on a daily basis and to interact with all the fans who make the show possible….This has been the most exhilarating experience I've ever had and I will definitely pop in here and there (you haven't seen the last of Curtis Holt) in the future….Most importantly, thank you to all the fans who accepted me on this fantastic journey. And while the service is set to include plenty of new content -- including some new DC content -- like its competitor Disney, Warner Bros. is reportedly planning to pull some of its content from Netflix ahead of the launch of WarnerMedia. With Reilly telling the press that "sharing destination assets is not a good model," and the belief that said assets should be "exclusive to the service," it would seem the Arrowverse shows are likely to follow suit. Currently, The CW and Netflix have a deal which sees the channel's shows debut on the streaming service just weeks after a season wraps up. That deal, however, is set to expire this Spring, and it's not expected that it'll be renewed. As Reilly explained, Warner Bros. is very interested in putting those titles "on our platform," which means Warner Bros. would likely retain exclusive streaming rights to shows such as Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and the non-Arrowverse Black Lightning. It remains to be seen whether or not WarnerMedia will absorb the previously launched DC Universe, which is home to shows such as Titans, Young Justice: Outsiders, and the forthcoming Doom Patrol. Warner Bros. has yet to unveil an official launch date for its latest streaming service, but it is expected to arrive, at least in beta form, by year's end. As for the price point, the streaming service is expected to offer three different membership tiers, though how those will break down remains unknown at this time. https://www.cbr.com/arrowverse-friends-living-netflix-explained/ GENERAL DC NEWS Melissa Benoist and Chris Wood get engaged(Date: ) Supergirl star Melissa Benoist has announced her engagement to former castmate Chris Wood. The actress took to Instagram to share the happy news on Sunday (February 10), "Yes yes yes it will always be yes," she captioned the adorable photo, in which she showed off her massive ring. https://www.digitalspy.com/showbiz/a26295140/supergirl-melissa-benoist-engaged-chris-wood/ FEEDBACK From our last video on YouTube: Pfruit0916 First, we got a documentary and now a horror episode. It's nice that after 7yrs they are still doing new things to keep the episodes exciting and Brendan Fletcher did a great job as Stanley, he was very creepy. The one complaint I had was the amount of time spent on trying to save Dinah, it wasn't really suspenseful because we know that she survives in the flash-forwards. I'm okay with Curtis leaving, the writers seemed to be struggling to incorporate him in the story for a while now, but maybe he will show up again for the next crossover since they will probably need every hero they can get. Also, his exit gives Felicity full control of Helix, so Smoak Tech can finally rise. William going to live with his grandparents makes sense. I'm glad it wasn't Oliver sending him away for his safety but instead giving him a choice in what happens to him. I am incredibly curious about why William feel like they “abandoned” him, when we see that it was his decision to leave and olicity said they would call, visit, etc.(I appreciate the detail of having Felicity show him the trick on the Rubik's cube, since it was in the flash-forwards at the beginning of the season. But that still leaves me wonder how william knew where her office was in Smoak Tech if he left before the company was built.) Mia is the olicity baby, so I guess the transitions in 7x08 were actually clues. It makes sense, they have a son who is tech oriented like Felicity and a daughter who is a fighter like Oliver. Plus, they get to parallel Emiko/Oliver's relationship in the present with Mia/William's in the future. I remember Oliver randomly mentioning “The scroll & Key” in 7x08, I'm wondering if that's going to play into the flash-forwards because Mia has a giant key tattoo. We know from Oliver's history that all of his tattoos had significance. I'm thinking William is the scroll & Mia is the Key in this equation and that's why are being brought together after all these years. Lastly, I've noticed that many aspects of this season are like season 1. Random things happened like Walter buy Unidac industries only for them to later reveal that it was a major plot point because that company built the earthquake machine. I think they are doing that again with the fires in the Glades. We found out Emiko's mom was shot & it was covered up with a building fire. Earlier this season she helped stop a group of men who were setting a theatre on fire in the Glades. They said someone was buying up the burnt properties for cheap. I think thats Dante/The Ninth Circle and it plays a part in how the Glades rise. Specifically, it was spoken by Kosh in the episode "Chrysalis," and became an oft-repeated/referenced quote from the series. Michelle's addition: Kosh is the Vorlon Empire's Ambassador to Babylon 5. The line is said to Sinclair and refers to Delenn starting her transformation. Aparo & Puckett: Tobias Church's stolen cell phone turned up in a warehouse on Aparo and Puckett -- two streets named after veteran DC Comics creators Jim Aparo and Kelley Puckett. Puckett is a writer best known for his work on the Batman family of titles; Among his most notable works are the co-creations of the Cassandra Cain Batgirl and Connor Hawke, the son of Oliver Queen. Aparo is one of the most recognizable Batman artists of his era; his last ongoing series assignment before he passed away was Green Arrow #81-100 in the '90s, during which time he and Puckett introduced Connor Hawke. Ishmael Gregor - David Meunier, known to TV fans for his role on FX's Justified, joined the cast of Arrow tonight as Ishmael Gregor. Gregor in the comics is a character who's been known to make a physical transformation into a demon, complete with magical powers, but considering remarks by the showrunners about a more grounded Season Five, it seems likely that his primary role will be as a human running the Russian mob. Worth mentioning - Konstantin Kovar appeared onscreen for the first time in this week's episode, played by Hollywood action legend Dolph Lundgren. Channel 52 makes yet another appearance. Callbacks to early seasons include Oliver's tennis ball-training session, the appearance of The List, and all those names on it. I really think he's just a simple sort of guy that has got caught up in deeper situations. I do think it would have been a missed opportunity in the last year of these flashbacks to not have a really worthy adversary. We found that in Dolph, which is why he'll be around for a while. It's been a blast to work with him. It's been awesome.” Link:http://www.cbr.com/arrow-amell-calls-dolph-ludgrens-character-a-worthy-adversary/ Arrow's Josh Segarra reveals what excites him about playing Vigilante (Date: 09 Nov 2016) Next week's episode of Arrow, titled "Vigilante," will center on the character of Star City District Attorney Adrian Chase (played by actor Josh Segarra), and introduce his costumed alter ego, Vigilante. He told ComicBook.com during the Arrow 100th episode party that they were working hard not to disappoint anybody who read the comics and had expectations for the character. "The biggest question that I have for myself as an actor is 'why does this person become the person that they are?'" Segarra said. "So what's going to be hard is that in the middle of the season I get to introduce Vigilante. So now I'm getting to tell that backstory and we get to tell the biggest pieces and get to show him becoming who he is before episode 7." Stephen Amell, EP Marc Guggenheim discuss (Date: 10 Nov 2016) The article examines why season 5 could be a natural ending, but Marc Guggenheim says, “No, I think we tend to look at season 5 as the end of a particular chapter.” Arrow doesn't seem to be in any danger of cancellation at present; while ratings are down from last season, it remains one of The CW's four most-watched programs. The show's longevity seems to surprise even the producers. The flashback storyline was always “a five-year deal,” says Guggenheim, and they intend to stick with that plan. “The show just turned out to be more successful than we anticipated.” Also Stephen Amell discusses why season 4 disappointed him at times and how he likes the renewed focus of season 5. In an interview with ComicBook.com she said, “The thing is, I can't kill him. If I kill him in 1942 or 1952, all of those years that he was supposed to do everything would be messed up; it's a big change to history. So I wouldn't be able to even kill him. I think she's struggling, now that she's captain, with this higher sense of purpose. It's not just all about her; she has to consider other people. You see what happens with Barry Allen when he changed the timeline. She's coming around and being like ‘I have to accept this,' but I still think there's something in her that is always going to want to change it and I don't know, if she had the opportunity, if she would pass it up. I think it's still a big area of conflict for her. And of course she misses her sister.” Link:http://comicbook.com/dc/2016/11/04/legends-of-tomorrows-caity-lotz-even-if-she-wants-to-sara-cant-b/ The responsibilities of time travelers when it comes to slavery (Date: 06 Nov 2016) The episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow entitled Abominations had two things in mind when picking the title. (Date: xx June 2016) Stephen Amell said "sure" in response to a question about Flashpoint impacting Arrow, adding "you bet" when someone followed up by asking, "majorly?" Now, Amell has taken to Facebook to make it clear that Arrow will NOT definitely be affected by Flashpoint in a major way, stating: "Actually I sarcastically said "sure"... The Starling Tribune: An Unofficial Arrow TV Show Fan Podcast
Starling Tribune - Season 4 Edition – Episode 3: Restoration The Official Arrow Podcast of the Gonna Geek Network During another fun Blab.im live recording, Neil, Stargate Pioneer and Chris gather again to discuss the 3rd episode of the 4th Arrow season. It was great to see Nyssa back on the show and just how evil Malcom Merlyn can be. Why did that one Ghost let Diggle live at the battle of the Woodmill? SP has a pretty good theory about why that Neil added unto. Damian Darhk sure demonstrate how deadly simple parlor card tricks can be. SP teaches that worksite cranes sometimes do come equipped with remote control technologies thus validating Felicity's ability to remote control one from the Arrow Lair 3.0. There is a LOT of Lair 3.0 talk too. Felicity's mention of Mirikuru soldiers was a Great Pull. SP has issue with Felicity's machine gun spray and pray move. Felicty's character growth comes to a new level in the episode and everyone is impressed. Chris finds a reason for Oliver to have sleeves on his costume again. ( #bringbacksleeves ) We're all excited to see the T-Sphere's and of course Ray Palmer is trying to get Felicity's attention through her mobile phone. The show finally found a way to get rid of the Lazarus Pit after its heroic and historic reanimation of Sara. And the hosts have a message for Laurel: When MALCOLM tells you that doing something is a bad idea you've probably gone way too far. Someone needs to get Sara and Thea bad to 100%. Will it be Damian? Will it be Constantine? The relationship between Quentin Lance and Damian continues to confuse everyone. Everyone loves OTA – Original Team Arrow. Everyone rates the villain of the week, Double Down. SP was happy to see Ryan Robbins but knows Oliver is going to kills him eventually. The guys take bets on where Oliver is heading with the woman. We revisit the “Star City Beard Report” including his mutant power. Would you take a card for us? The fights continue to be amazing including the double fight this week and the sparing in Nanda Parbat and Thea's nightmare wake-up call fight. And finally, what happened with Oliver's decision to run for mayor? SP's theory about the Lair comes in handy here.
