We exclusively spoke to Jeff Pierre from Walker about his character Trey Barnett and how he went from the military to the boyfriend, to the coach, and ultimately a badass Texas Ranger. Pierre and I discussed everything from what it was like getting the job to the pivotal scenes like the shootout with Cap or the crazy Stella save from the trail. Pierre jokes that he has had so many jobs -- but one that is serious and emotionally meaningful was the day he was told his character would become a ranger. Pierre talks about what it was like putting the outfit on and how he got away with not wearing two belts (it will make sense when you listen to it). Pierre talks about how much he loves the cast and some of the shenanigans that go on in between takes. However, the most important thing I learned in this interview is that Pierre is one of the nicest people on the planet, a fantastic husband and father (we got to do a mini-interview with his daughter), and just a humble human being. His smile is infectious, and we spent so much time just having fun and talking. We came up with some good pranks, and hopefully, if the show is renewed, I will get to come on set and hang out with him and put some of those pranks in motion. Host: Monica Gleberman Editor: Shamindri De Sayrah Social Media Graphic: Jojo -- Synopsis: A reimagining of the long-running series "Walker, Texas Ranger," "Walker" follows the adventures of Cordell Walker, a widower and father of two with his own moral code, as he returns home to Austin after being under cover for two years, only to discover there's harder work to be done at home. He must attempt to reconnect with his creative and thoughtful son and his headstrong, somewhat rebellious teenage daughter and navigate clashes with his family -- an ADA brother who stepped in during Walker's absence, his perceptive mother and his traditional rancher father. Walker finds unexpected common ground with his new partner while growing increasingly suspicious about the circumstances surrounding his wife's death. *Walker airs on The CW on Thursdays at 8pm EST (and is available for free to stream on The CW app) Don't forget to follow us on Twitter @SilenceonSet and Instagram @SilenceonSetPod

Ahead of Sunday's final match, two Post journalists and die-hard soccer fans discuss all things World Cup. Columnist Ishaan Tharoor sits down with Jeff Pierre, host of “The 7,” to unpack the controversies, the triumphs and what's at stake this weekend.Read more:This year's World Cup has been mired in debates about its host country, Qatar. But it's more complicated than that, according to Ishaan Tharoor: “I think being there helped me think a bit more deeply and hopefully with a bit more nuance.” For him, being there gave him a unique insight into how the country prepared for the tournament and how players and attendees are reacting to the results. For many watching, the most exciting victories were those of the Moroccan team, which became the first African team to make it to a World Cup semifinal. As the tournament comes to a close on Sunday, two of the world's most talented soccer stars will face off. Sunday's final is expected to be veteran Argentine player Lionel Messi's last shot at winning a World Cup. He'll be playing Kylian Mbappé, the young French forward who has led his team to its second final in a row. What it's like being at the World Cup. Morocco's showdown with France carries complex political baggage. After enduring insults and threats, Iranian team exits the World Cup.How far can the U.S. men's national team go? It has definitely been a year. We went into 2021 cautious AF, and we were rewarded because it definitely was a sh*tshow. But! Some moments were hilarious, in that "let's laugh at others' pain" schadenfreude kind of way, some moments were sad, some were confusing as hell, and others were totally horrific. We forgot about most of them by the time we recorded this episod. We get into all of it this week: the relationship between religion and slavery, religion and women, cultural suppression, and religion as hope. Don't steal Nessa's business plan from hell, it's patented (hook her up with a loan, though). Also in this episode, Cass voices her resentment against the all-powerful for not hearing her simple prayers and Dassa lays into Haitians who try to undermine the central place of Vodou in Haitian culture and history.
