Disgraced former Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Scott Pruitt ordered a $65,000 SUV that had a siren installed to get him and his 24/7 security entourage through traffic to vaunt themselves into Le Diplomate, Pruitt's favorite restaurant in Washington D.C. And then there were the two days of partying in Paris en route to Morocco to lobby for Cheniere Energy. A poem to help you remember: Scott Pruitt, of Oklahoma, Evangelical, A bit light on his morals....almost became Attorney General!! but now we have his spiritual brother installed instead: William Barr.

"Some tracks have 300 different layers of vocals and most of them are me," says Ala.ni about her new album Acca. The London-born, Paris-based singer with a rare four-octave range beguiles us with her voice. The record is mainly her, a capella. With a bit of Iggy Pop. She talks to us about how her great uncle the singer Leslie "Hutch" Hutchinson "black and bisexual in the 30's" gave her a lot of courage to be herself and "do things differently". We chat about how Iggy Pop took a shine to her and ending up doing vocals in French on the song "Le Diplomate" inspired by a real-life encounter with ... a diplomat. Following the success of her debut album "You and I" she's grown a lot in confidence and now feels happy speaking her mind on a whole load of subjects. "I’m all for calling people out right now whether it’s about sex, race or whatever. I’ve not been allowed to have an opinion for many years as a black female, this is a new thing for me. I'm like 'wow, I can talk, people listen'. "My mum didn’t have this. She doesn't want me to talk but I will talk. So here I am." Listen to her, in the podcast. 40! The news is bleak (just ask #TopYouthSoccerRecruitsForTrump). But after some cathartic banter on the "caravan," a vanishing island, Megyn Kelly, transphobia, and baby boomers on the internet, as well as a next level #Bikileak, we've got a wonderful interview at 23:23 with the inimitable Bassima Al-Ghussein! Bassima is the CEO of Alghussein Global Strategies, which specializes in government affairs and strategic communications in the United States and the Middle East. True story: CSIS paid her 55 cents on the dollar, so she quit and started her own company! We talk about her journey from Kahuku High School to Washington, D.C. and ask what it's like to hang your own shingle as a consultant and international media commentator (especially on the president's favorite show). We also pick her brain about the biggest stories in the middle east and DC: the murder of Jamal Kashoggi and what it means for the US-Saudi relationship, the futures of Palestine and Israel and the possibilities for peace in the region, and the shamelessness of Hillary's #MeToo double standards and the bigoted corruption of California Republican Duncan Hunter. And we had to ask -- her restaurant recs are Le Diplomate (in DC), and Giovanni's Shrimp Truck and Ono's Hawaiian food (on Oahu)! PS: is former Iranian PM Mahmoud Ahmadinejad "woke" now?? PPS: RIP to Nairobi, the Honolulu Zoo Giraffe PPPS: Shoutout to St. Oscar Romero, Frost City, and Snoop Dogg's new cookbook! PPPPS: We'll see you at the live show at Marks Garage on November 8!!!!
