"Administrations change. Not a lot has changed in our strategy." He suspects a looser regulatory environment will likely be in place as a result of the new administration. He could also see more consolidation in the sector — "although I will tell you that we just bought a bank two years ago under the previous administration." Pichel was referring to Republic Bancorp's (NASDAQ: RBCAA) acquisition of CBank for approximately $51 million in cash in 2023. "It got approved quickly and it was a great experience," he said. We also get into talking about Louisville's economy — which has taken some hits of late particularly with the news that KFC U.S. is leaving Louisville for Plano, Texas. The news of Humana Inc.'s move out of its namesake tower on Main Street hasn't bolstered confidence either."It is worrisome. You don't want to see exits. You want to see entrance into the community — especially with companies with such great reputations as KFC and Humana. We moved associates downtown in the last year or two.""I also believe in momentum. Once you start to see more companies coming to Louisville, more people will come here. It's a great community," he said, noting he just moved here 4 and half years ago. Housing is not as expensive here as it is in other places and travel is easy."I just think we need momentum. We've got good leadership. Our mayor is fantastic. Craig Greenberg's great. And he's pro business. And he wants to bring new companies in. We just have to start getting some momentum," he said."I know we'll get there. I'm encouraged we'll get there. But the war's visual record is massive. States promoted the use of photography at the front for their historical and propaganda value. Kodak's portable pocket vest camera was promoted to soldiers, whose private albums took on greater meaning after the war as tokens of remembrance and objects of mourning. Often treated as mere visual representations of the war's textual record, historians are also now considering the history of the photographs themselves. Who took them and for what purpose? What did the photographer leave out of the image and why? As material objects, what did they mean to the owner and how they remembered their war experiences? Panamá, 19 de julio de 2021.Daniel Pichel, Cardiólogo, habló este lunes en el programa #RadioGrafía sobre la situación del covid-19 y apeló, a que se abra la vacunación para todas las personas, esto ante la llegada de más de 400 mil dosis de vacunas de la farmacéutica Pfizer."Yo soy de la opinión que hace rato debíamos estar vacunando a todo el que quiera vacunarse". Al que llegue con el brazo por delante, póngale la vacuna y después pregunte", aseveró.Pichel agregó que entiende que si no había vacunas, se tuviera precaución con los grupos de riesgos. "Es un hecho que los lugares donde la gente se vacuna en base a listas y citas está habiendo poca afluencia de personas a vacunarse, mientras los lugares donde son voluntarios la gente llega porque quiere llegar a vacunarse con la vacuna de AstraZeneca, están llenos de gente, eso demuestra que hay una voluntad de la gente en vacunarse"."Cuanto antes esté vacunada la población, antes vamos a poder ir saliendo de enredo, no puede ser que nosotros sigamos retrasando la vacunación", reiteró Pichel.

Ante esto Pichel corregió al diputado y manifestó que esta prueba viene sellada y es calificada en los Estados Unidos."Ese examen viene sellado, lo abren los estudiantes cuando va inicar el examen y se sella cuando se envía a Estados Unidos a que se califique", subrayó Pichel.Expresó que la sugerencia de cambio en la puntuación es porque hace falta tener médicos internos y se necesita que la gente pase el examen, pero están fracasando. Ante esto dijo que la solución no es bajar la nota , es mejorar la formación.La polémica surge luego que se promulgó en Gaceta Oficial la resolución 1 del 3 de marzo del Ministerio de Salud, que baja la puntuación mínima para aprobar a 360, es decir 34.5% del total.Por otra parte a un año de que Panamá registrara el primer caso de Covid-19 precisó que las medidas en Panamá se tomaron rápidamente pero el gran problema fue cuando se perdió la confianza.Un ejemplo palpable y marcable a su juicio fue la compra de ventiladores.

Later today you can expect sunshine and temperatures in the 50s with rain returning tomorrow and Saturday.Water coolerAs of this morning, the Virginia Department of Health reports 2,417↘️ new positive cases of the coronavirus in the Commonwealth and 20↘️ new deaths as a result of the virus. VDH reports 251↘️ new cases in and around Richmond (Chesterfield: 120, Henrico: 82, and Richmond: 49). Since this pandemic began, 468 people have died in the Richmond region. VDH’s Current Pandemic Status map has all six regions of the Commonwealth “at substantial activity”, something I’ve never seen before. All six regions are experiencing a “high” burden of disease and five out of six are seeing an “increasing” trend. Yet, yesterday, the Governor gave his coronavirus briefing with nary a word of increased restrictions. Mel Leonor at the Richmond Times-Dispatch covered the briefing, at which the Governor said, “I continue to closely monitor the numbers, and we’ll evaluate whether further mitigation steps are necessary.” OK, but, like, the metrics created by the State have already topped out. Unless we change the y-axis they can’t get any worse—and by that I mean they can’t cross another threshold into something like “at really, really substantial activity.” But I guess the Gov will continue to closely monitor how off-the-charts things get? Personally, I don’t really want to find out how off-the-charts things can get in southwestern Virginia, where Kate Masters at the Virginia Mercury reports that Ballad Health “one of the region’s largest hospital systems…had 45 available beds as of Wednesdays, only 13 or 14 of them ICU beds.” This is dire: “The system has a refrigerated morgue truck parked outside its Johnson City hospital in neighboring Tennessee…A second has been ordered for Kingsport, just a few miles away from the Virginia state line.” For most of us, that’s terrifying. For a select few of us though—mostly health care workers—it’s still terrifying in a general way but less so in a specific, personal way as some amount of the COVID-19 vaccine will exist before the end of the year. Vaccine! It’s really happening! So it sounds like we will we close out 2020 not with a bang but with…vaccines and refrigerated morgue trucks?John O’Connor at the RTD has some more reporting on the proposed GreenCity arena development in Henrico County. You’ll recognize the vast majority of this language from previous reporting on the Richmond version of this project: private operator, permanent tenant, minor league hockey, minor league basketball, A-10 tournament, neutral-site games. We’ve heard it all before, and this phase of a massive economic development project often feels more like throwing spaghetti at a wall rather than hearing about actual planning details. Richard Meagher at the RVA Politics blog calls it the fanfare stage, saying, “So far we are following the blueprint of these kinds of deals, so we are currently in the ‘fanfare’ stage with big announcements, lots of promises of jobs and ‘economic impact,’ and various pictures of ‘vaportecture.’” Expect more fanefare over the next little while, but probably not on the scale of Richmond’s Navy Hill attempt. In my experience, Henrico likes to do less of their business in public and then move rapidly once they figure out which direction they’re headed (aka if they’ve got the votes).Related, Marc Cheatham at the Cheats Movement has some good thoughts on the proposed/upcoming casino referendum. To quote Marc a bit: “Given the city’s challenges, I don’t think a casino should be a priority—or is in the best interest of Richmond. With that, I also know the culture of Richmond. The city has earned the reputation of not having the confidence and capability to do large economic projects. This is a reputation that will need to be shed. I don’t believe a casino is the right vehicle to challenge this reputation, but, if my prediction is correct, a casino won’t float by the grassroots community or city council.
