Day 2 of The Everyday Experiment is about something so ordinary it's almost invisible; the way you get low. Most of us have one way, and we've used it so many times that we've stopped noticing there are any others. Today I'm going to ask you to notice what that is, and if you're curious, try a different one. You might be surprised how much information there is about the way you move in that small moment.
Primary schools involved in a pilot programme say being able to close nearby roads during drop off and pick up times is helping curb dangerous driver's behaviour. It's been a growing issue in our biggest city, with Auckland Transport starting Safe School Streets a couple of years ago. But now other schools across Aotearoa are facing the same issues, some taking things into their own hands. Bella Craig reports.

Tonight on Triple Feature, we turn the spotlight on Molly Ringwald through three films that capture the rise, strain and collapse of her iconic teenage screen persona. Pretty in Pink places her at the center of a class-conscious romance, where style, poverty and social humiliation matter as much as love. The Pick-Up Artist tries to move her into adult sexuality, pairing her with Robert Downey Jr. in a strange collision of screwball courtship, gambling debt and urban menace. For Keeps? pushes her further, using teen pregnancy, marriage and economic pressure to test whether intelligence and determination are enough to survive adulthood. Across all three films, Ringwald plays young women forced to become more responsible than the men around them, often while managing absent, broken or unreliable fathers. We discuss why she became the defining female face of 1980s teen cinema, how these movies have aged, and whether Hollywood ever truly understood what made her such a compelling star.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

As America recently marked its 250th anniversary, Dr. Zach Clinton sits down with Lt. Gen. (Ret.) William "Jerry" Boykin, a 36-year Army veteran, original member of Delta Force, former commander of both Delta Force and Army Special Forces, and former Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence, for a conversation on what freedom truly costs and who's responsible to carry it forward. General Boykin reflects on his calling into military service, leadership lessons forged in some of the most high-stakes special operations in modern U.S. history, and the invisible wounds such PTSD, survivor's guilt, hopelessness, and moral injury that so many veterans carry home. The conversation turns candid as he shares what kept his faith anchored after witnessing real darkness, and what it means to be a warrior in God's Kingdom, not just on the battlefield. Now serving as Executive Vice President of the Family Research Council and continuing his ministry as an ordained pastor, Boykin speaks to a possible Great Awakening stirring across America and why he believes it will be sustained not by politics, but by strong marriages and Christ-centered homes. He closes with a direct charge to the next generation of fathers, mothers, pastors, and leaders on what to remember for such a time as this. It's a rare, unguarded look at where courage, conviction, and faith intersect from a man who has spent his life defending freedom on two fronts: physical and spiritual. The Nolan Wells 911 call gets the full live treatment — Tony plays every second of the uncut emergency audio in real time, with the chat weighing in on the most disputed few seconds of tape in this entire case. The setup is simple. On July 4th, around 4 p.m., a teenager on a boat at the west tip of Horn Island called for help: the bilge pump had failed, the boat was taking on water. The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources released the complete recording, hold music and all. Nolan Wells — last reported seen on the island about an hour before the call — was not aboard, and he was found in the water near the island two days later. The live question is what else the recording captured. Listeners have pulled apart the background commotion and split into camps. One camp swears a muffled female voice can be heard asking something no one on a routine tow call should be asking. The other camp has replayed the same audio and says the voice is not there — that people are hearing what the case has primed them to hear. Both camps are listening to the identical file.So the stream does it the honest way: full playback, no edits, pausing on the contested seconds as many times as the chat wants. Alongside it, the verified beats — the plug-pulling instructions shouted to a second boat, the fumbled membership questions, the seven-person headcount, the 4:31 departure — get laid against the timeline of Nolan's final documented hour. One tape. Two camps. Come listen with us and pick a side in real time.END_LINKSJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Billions of pounds of plastic end up in our global oceans every year. Birds – like this Short-tailed Shearwater – that mistake this pollution for food often die from malnutrition, poisoning, or damage to their digestive systems. We can all make the world a safer place for birds and people by keeping plastic out of our waterways. You can replace single-use plastics with reusable items, join a community clean up day in your area, or maybe skip party balloons at your next event. More info and transcript at BirdNote.org. In the Mouth of Madness (1994) Directed by John Carpenter Starring: Sam Neill, Jürgen Prochnow, Julie Carmen, David WarnerThere's a scene in In the Mouth of Madness with a "little fucking flappy arm thing" pretending to be an unspeakable cosmic horror, and honestly, that's the whole movie in a nutshell. This week we dig into John Carpenter's 1994 slow-burn descent into madness starring Sam Neill as an insurance investigator who gets way, way too invested in finding a missing horror novelist. Spoiler: reality is a construct and also everyone in New Hampshire is exceptionally fucking stupid. In this episode, we discuss:Sam Neill Carries This Whole Damn Movie — He's arrogant, he's a prick, and he still manages to sell a believable descent into madness. We break down why his performance is doing more heavy lifting than anyone else in the cast. The Flappy Arm Problem — When your Lovecraftian monster looks like a dollar-store bath toy, you've got issues. We get into why the movie's practical effects and CGI just don't hold up, especially next to what Jurassic Park and Terminator 2 were doing years earlier on bigger budgets.Two-Thirds Boring, One-Third Bonkers — We go back and forth on pacing: one of us thinks it's a slow burn that pays off, the other thinks it's a whole lot of driving around New England before anything actually happens. What's the Worst They Can Do? Chop You Up — We rant about horror movie logic, townspeople who won't run from hellhound Dobermans, and why nobody in this film has ever considered just flooring it.We Also Talked About:MTV's The Real World Reunion (Seasons 1-3) (Youtube) – A nostalgic dive into early reality TV and why Robert Smith deserved better than "Friday I'm in Love."Don't Pick Up the Phone (2024) (Netflix) – A Netflix documentary about a decade-long phone hoax scam that hit fast food chains across the country.Sherman's March (1985) (Ok.Ru) – A bizarre, unexpectedly charming documentary about one filmmaker's romantic misadventures while loosely retracing a Civil War general's path.Kick of Death (1997) (Tubi) – A Troma karate flop so boring it's not even fun to make fun of.Billy the Exterminator (Tubi) – A guilty-pleasure reality show about a Hot Topic goth exterminating alligators in Louisiana. The Death and Life of Lamar Odom (Netflix) – An Untold documentary on Netflix covering addiction, tragedy, and a truly unbelievable overdose story.Pharmacist Grant Harting on YouTube – He's a licensed pharmacistin four states, buys gas station boner pills, breaks down the ingredients, and takes them before going on a blind date to see what happens. Some of the above links are affiliate links — if you purchase through them we get a small kickback, and it's the best way to support the show.New episodes of the Dewey Pod Monster podcast drop every week. Jill and Tom open the show reviewing news from the city of Toledo where three members of a family perished in a crossover last week as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning. Little is known at this point regarding the tragedy, except that the vehicle was running with the air conditioning in use. The hosts also discussed recent news that potential EV shoppers no long worry about vehicle range as much as they do home charging. Listen in for why this might be the case. Tom notes that, five years into its run, the Ford F-150 PowerBoost (hybrid) does not seem to be generating as much consumer interest as might have been initially expected. Price may be an issue, or just a general lack of interest in hybrids by large-Pickup buyers. Still in the first segment, Jill reviews the redesigned Mazda CX-5 compact crossover. Has the CX-5 lost some of its "Mazdaness?" Listen in for details. in the second segment, the hosts welcome Jeremy Barnes of Mitsubishi to the show. Jeremy talks about the the maker's updated Outlander compact crossover, as well as its Mitsubishi Motors Momentum 2030 business plan. Mitsubishi plans to roll out a new model every year until 2030 in the U.S. market. Listen in for details. In the last segment, Jill is subjected to Tom's "Is it a VW Trim Level?" Quiz. The question isn't whether adversity will come. The question is: Who will you become when it does? In this week’s powerful conversation, Dr. Zach Clinton sits down with retired Navy SEAL Lieutenant, Jason Redman, to explore what it truly means to overcome adversity. After surviving a devastating ambush in Iraq that left him shot eight times, Jason discovered that his greatest battle wasn't on the battlefield…it was the one that followed during recovery. Together, they discuss the "Overcome Mindset," resilience, leadership, discipline, marriage, faith, and why every person will eventually face a "life ambush." From the lessons of Navy SEAL training and combat to the famous handwritten sign on his hospital door that inspired millions, Jason shares practical wisdom on choosing courage over comfort, discipline over motivation, hope over despair, and faith over fear. Whether you're navigating grief, trauma, failure, anxiety, betrayal, or life's unexpected setbacks, this conversation is a powerful reminder that adversity doesn't have to define your story…but your response to it will. Erik Clapp of the mighty Cinema Force joins me for Part 2 of our discussion of John Frankenheimer's 1986 sleaze & suspense classic 52 Pick-Up. Adapted from Elmore Leonard's book by John Frankenheimer and Leonard himself, 52 Pick-Up is a tension & twist filled thriller that always keeps you guessing. This film also gives us one of the most iconic villains in cinema history, brought to life by the legendary John Glover. Also starring Roy Scheider, Ann-Margret, Clarence Williams III, Vanity & Robert Trebor, 52 Pick-Up was Produced by Menahem Golan & Yoram Globus for Cannon Films. It was also strongly disliked by a pearl-clutching Gene Siskel. What more could a film-fan ask for? This is Part 2 of 3 - Part 2 features another taping with Erik & Part 3 is my chat with the legendary John Glover.
