Sermon on the Mount: Part 14 | Communication with God

In Part 14 of the Sermon on the Mount series, Matt and Top continue their verse-by-verse study of Matthew 6:5–8, examining Jesus' teachings on prayer, hypocrisy, secret devotion, and the danger of vain repetitions. What did Jesus mean when He warned against praying like the hypocrites? Is Christ condemning repetitive prayer, memorized prayers, or something deeper? The discussion explores the difference between genuine communion with God and religious performance, why prayer is meant to be directed toward the Father rather than an audience, and what it means to pray in secret where God sees and rewards openly. This episode also examines the meaning of "vain repetitions," the practices of the heathen, God's foreknowledge of our needs, and how believers should approach prayer with sincerity, humility, and faith. Topics Covered:Matthew 6:5–8 explainedSecret prayer vs public performanceWhat are vain repetitions? Why Jesus warned against hypocritical prayerDoes God already know our needs?Prayer and the fear of GodBiblical worship and sincerityThe Sermon on the Mount verse-by-verse studyChristian discipleship and spiritual growthHow Jesus taught believers to prayMatt Hepner – The Standard Coffee:Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/cw/StraightBible Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1rAgp1gB32gBCjFKkJSh7Y YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@StraightBibleFL Instagram: @straightbibleWebsite: https://www.thestandardclcl.com/   Email: straightbiblefl@gmail.com TopLobsta:X: https://twitter.com/TopLobsta Instagram: https://instagram.com/TopLobsta Merch: https://TopLobsta.comYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@NephilimDeathSquad X: https://twitter.com/NephilimDSquad Instagram: https://instagram.com/nephilimdeathsquad Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/share/1AscxBNoH4/   Sponsors/Affiliates:Weld Protein Energy Drink: Drink WeldLittle Palm Coconut Water: Little PalmMilk & Honey Coffee co: Milk & HoneyEllas Popcorn: ellaspopcorn.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/nephilim-death-squad--6389018/support.☠️ Nephilim Death Squad — New episodes 5x/week.Join our Patreon for early access, bonus shows & the private Telegram hive.Subscribe on YouTube & Rumble, follow @NephilimDSquad on X/Instagram, grab merch at toplobsta.com. Questions/bookings: chroniclesnds@gmail.com — Stay dangerous.

Hantavirus Astrology: Mars-Saturn Conjunctions and Outbreaks

The Astrology Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later May 9, 2026 96:55

In this episode I explore the astrology behind the deadly Hantavirus outbreak that is currently dominating global news headlines, specifically focusing on how it began around the recent Mars-Saturn conjunction, and demonstrating why ancient astrologers associated these alignments with plagues and pestilences. This is an alignment that we were nervous about and actually predicted in our year-ahead forecast for 2026, partially because it reminded me of the Mars-Saturn conjunction that took place in March and April of 2020. During that time, the world experienced the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns just as Mars and Saturn came together in Capricorn and Aquarius. I review clips from our previous forecasts to show how we anticipated this, and break down exactly why these specific malefic conjunctions describe very difficult periods of time historically. To show how these alignments work in practice, I go through a detailed timeline of the current Hantavirus outbreak that began on a cruise ship over the past month, showing how perfectly the crisis mapped onto the exact Mars-Saturn-Neptune conjunction. I also walk through several other historical case studies from the past decade to demonstrate this recurring pattern. We look at how previous Mars-Saturn conjunctions coincided with major inflection points for the 2014 Ebola outbreak, the 2022 Monkeypox outbreak, and the naming of the AIDS pandemic back in 1982. Part of my goal here was not simply to highlight a successful prediction and show how well the outbreak ended up coinciding with the alignment, but also to demonstrate why I made the prediction based on other similar alignments I had seen in the past. A couple of interesting additional things I found in this episode are that the Hantavirus first became recognized during a major outbreak in the Korean War in the early 1950s, which coincided closely with a Saturn-Neptune conjunction. Later, the Hantavirus was officially named and categorized under two Mars-Saturn conjunctions in 1980 and 1982. Now, we are seeing a recurrence of both of those planetary alignments, with the Mars-Saturn-Neptune conjunction that started in April, right as a new major outbreak of the virus is happening in the world. Finally, I touch on the underlying philosophy of mundane astrology: the idea that the planets are not necessarily causing events to happen, but rather they act as a timing mechanism that mirrors what is happening on Earth. Because repetition is the key to prediction in astrology, studying the alignments surrounding these current and past outbreaks can provide us with a framework for forecasting the future, and my hope is that this will provide a useful foundation for later studies. Cities and Memory - remixing the sounds of the world

"In protests many voices join together, sounding to create a powerful opposition, echoing through physical and mental spaces. This piece recalls mass protests, recorded by Daniel Beaudoin, in response to the 2023 Tempi train crash in Greece caused by gross negligence and followed by corrupt coverups.  "Granular textures crafted from this recording and other protests I've recorded embrace and support these voices of unrest, acting as an amplification of the opposition to injustice experienced in this instance and others. Repetitions of moments in time chanting out, disrupting the peace while fighting to not be silenced, creating a contradicting cacophony.  "Cacophony is a word with Greek origins, κακοφωνία (kakophōnía), from κακός (kakós, “bad”) + φωνή (phōnḗ, “sound”). The sounds of the protest are not bad, but instead represent a coalition of communities calling attention to the negative actions surrounding us and for the destruction of oppressive forces, demanding a new arrangement. Don't let them be silenced." Athens protest reimagined by Andrew Ramsey.

Whether we're baking a cake, driving to a new restaurant, or putting together a puzzle, we can usually get to the goal more efficiently and effectively if we have a clear idea what the destination looks like.I think we all know that the same is true for learning a new piece of music too - but often, this is not actually what our practice looks like. While we might have a pretty good idea what we don't want something to sound like, our approach to practicing suggests that we are typically much less clear about what exactly we do want.A 2023 study illustrates how taking a moment to be clearer about our musical intentions (with a 4-step process) could lead to more effective practice!Get all the nerdy details here:Fewer Repetitions….But More Rapid Progress?ReferencesWilliams, S. In episode 494 I share several Venus retrograde repetitions that have happened in the news recently, and summarize what I learned from closely tracking the Venus retrograde recently. Since Venus finally departed from Aries and completed the extended retrograde period earlier this month I wanted to do one final episode to wrap up some lingering 8-year repetition stories that I had found, and also to share some conclusions I drew from this research over the past 6 months. I needed to do this episode in order to bring this series to completion that I started back in January, and this is the third and final installment in the news series. Some repetitions I covered include: Star Wars, Nintendo, the Oscars/Conan, the Rose Garden, and Iran. In episode 477 Chris Brennan discusses a number of recent stories in the news and how they are repetitions of events that occurred during past Venus retrograde in Aries periods, demonstrating how the 8-year cycle of Venus can connect events from the past with the present. This is a followup to the Venus retrograde in Aries in history episode last month, where Nick Dagan Best and I went through and noted a bunch of important events that happened during past Venus retrograde in Aries periods. Ever since we recorded that episode on January 10 there started being all of these really striking headlines and news stories that were repetitions of events we had talked about from previous Venus retrogrades in that episode, so I decided to compile them all here in this episode. Part of the purpose is to document some of these incredible Venus retrograde repetitions while they are happening and fresh in people's minds, but also to show people the repetitions so that they know what to look out for as we get deeper into this Venus retrograde over the next few months, that way you all can help me identify other repetitions that emerge in the near future. And for those lifting for some time now, let's discuss the safe progression of lifting weights. Notable notes in lifting during midlife: Don't rush going heavy. Let your connective tissues adapt. Understand your muscle fatigue and know when to stop. Listen to your body when to increase weights, increase reps and/or increase power. Do no harm to yourself. Do not underestimate recovery. For older women or those with injuries, keep in mind the 72 hours of rest in between workouts. Explore light activities during the recovery period like yoga. Consider cortisol tests to check on your body. Strength training beginning phase and progression is different per body. Join me in this episode for the in-depth details on how you lift heavy, create a routine and how to progress your workout during midlife, perimenopause and menopause. Let's redefine what it means to age. Coming up next week… wearing a weighted vest with osteoporosis? Questions we answer in this episode: Are women in midlife supposed to be lifting HEAVY weights? [00:03:30] How to safely start lifting weights? [00:02:50] When should I start progressing my strength training? Is it better to lift heavier weights or increase more reps? [00:08:20] How often should I lift weights? In this episode, Eylon Levy is joined by Dr. Shany Mor to discuss a recurring pattern in Arab history, which sees the launching of a war against Israel accompanied by intense jubilation and excitement. The terrible defeat which then follows, time after time, prompts the immediate adoption of a victim narrative, and, most concerningly, a total re-writing of history: forgetting why there was a war in the first place, and clearing the slate for the next attack. Without lessons learned, can we ever break free of this vicious cycle of ecstasy and amnesia?Read "Ecstasy and Amnesia in the Gaza Strip" by Dr. Shany Mor:https://mosaicmagazine.com/essay/israel-zionism/2023/11/ecstasy-and-amnesia-in-the-gaza-strip/Stay up to date:https://www.stateofanationpodcast.com/X: https://twitter.com/stateofapodInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/stateofapodFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556030695001 LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/company/state-of-a-nation

Money Therapy: A better understanding of you and your money guided by Harpeth Wealth Partners

New Year. Same you. New GOALS & at least a year more wisdom behind you! Most importantly, it is A FRESH START!  What are you going to do with it? I have seen so many people posting on socials about not needing new goals or super generic things like “I am going to learn to appreciate the smaller things and live in the moment”… Don't get me wrong… THAT SOUNDS AMAZING! But WHAT DOES IT MEAN!?!?!?!? How do you know you executed that? Is that just a cop-out to strive for something because you know you are terrible at following through in accomplishing things? FACT: Most people are… Few have figured out the secret sauce… I want to share that with you! Goals demand dedication, courage, and the occasional leap outside your comfort zone. It may not always be thrilling, but consider it planting a seed that will flourish. The Secret Sauce: Planning, Accountability, Monitoring, and Adapting. The common narrative is that resolutions fizzle out. However, here's where we redefine the game: setting a goal is just the beginning. Without a solid plan, even the loftiest dreams can wither away. Think of it as planning a road trip; you have a dream destination, but without a roadmap, you'll likely get lost. Resolutions are no different – goals without plans lead to nowhere. The reality is that you need a process and a community! You need to learn to trust and enjoy the process. You need to remember, it isn't about the day… it's about 366 of them! There is Power behind putting pen to paper… This is where the magic happens. Writing your resolutions isn't just a step; it's a personal promise. You're converting abstract dreams into tangible goals. This simple act significantly boosts your success odds. It's the spark that lights your resolution engine. But there's more to it! A written resolution serves as a visual reminder, keeping your objectives front and center, silently urging you to take action. Like I said above, *MOST* people are terrible at accomplishing goals they have to work for… SO THAT BEGS THE  QUESTION… What qualities and practices turbocharge a journey to resolution success? Are traits are in those that are most commonly successful in accomplishing their goals?: 1. Clarity: Precise resolutions make for an easier path. Swap vague goals for clear, measurable targets. 2. Accountability: Share your resolutions with a trusted someone who can offer motivation and support. 3. Resilience: Understand setbacks are part of the journey; your ability to adapt and persevere is key. 4. Self-compassion: Be kind to yourself when you stumble. Remember, everyone faces obstacles; your determination sets you apart. Break your resolutions into actionable steps, and take control of your dreams like Sarah and John did. Craft a plan, be clear and specific, find an accountability partner, and embrace resilience and self-compassion. Armed with these tools, your resolutions can become triumphant realities.
