This week Jackie and MJ are joined by LPN's Amber Nelson to discuss the important matter of where they fall on the Monster Fucker scale, and once again the issue of just where Tom Cruise penetrates those fish. Diane Keaton passed, an interviewer asked Julia Roberts and Andrew Garfield a coded question and Julia Roberts had to be like "um excuse me", Alec Baldwin drove HILARIA's car into a tree with his bro Stephen, and in more HILARIAAAAA news she's started her, how you say, "woe is me" campaign after being voted off DWTS. Julia Roberts shared that Oprah shipped her baby gifts to her remote home in dead of night via private delivery trucks, Katy P was seen kissin' Justin Trudeau on a yacht, plus child groomer and "apology" video savant Colleen Ballinger has started her Swifty era by sharing her love for "CANCELLED!." Bob's Movie Club is going to scare the pants off of you this week. Diane Keaton's cause of death has been revealed. Movie stars, even Leonardo DiCaprio, don't guarantee films a box office smash. Dreamforce traffic continues today, and so does the Kaiser strike. Millennials are willing to dish out big bucks for their sports team. The gang teams up on Bob over a new pumpkin drink trend. Kim Kardashian is reflecting on some chaotic behavior from her time married to Kanye. More quotes are dropping from Kevin Federline's book, and he isn't holding back about Britney Spears. Her version of reality is a little different. Tahoe ski resorts have announced their opening days! 70% of Americans are stressed about the holiday season - Vinnie bets you can guess why. How pretending to be blind made this guy $1 Million and sparked a conversation about ‘The Brady Bunch.' Sarah has a HUGE contest announcement. Tom Cruise and Ana De Armas have reportedly split - is it because her big movie flopped? You'll never guess which member of the gang is particular about their TV volume setting. Perfumes can be straight up offensive. Plus, Sarah adds a new impression to her repertoire. Is Taylor's new song ‘Wood' helping Travis Kelce play better on the field? The Victoria Secret Fashion Show was super model star studded this year. A gourmet avocado toast place is coming to San Jose. When is it too late to have more kids? Like a thunderbolt from another dimension, a dimension where $90 million-dollar comedies with top-tier talent and a first-class, Oscar-winning cinematographer combine with an expensive location shoot in Hawaii (standing in for Viet Nam) to gross $200 million dollars and spawn at least two Pantheon-level comedy characters in Tom Cruise's Les Grossman and Robert Downey, Jr's Kirk Lazarus-as-Staff-Sergeant-Lincoln-Osiris. I woefully failed to mention in the episode that Downey's transformation into Lazarus-as-Osiris was done by none other than the legend Rick Baker. To say they don't make 'em like this anymore is a sad truth. We have truly lost as a film-going society when big time stars gather to be in a movie this funny and big-screen watchable. I suppose the big screen's loss is HBO's gain, however. And soda: Ben Stiller has a new line of sodas and they're very good. You should try one!
In breaking news, reports have come out that Tom Cruise and Ana De Armas have split after just nine months. Alex and James briefly turn their attention away from James Bond to discuss the adventures of Ethan Hunt. We take a look at the Mission: Impossible series, how it evolved over the course of eight films, as well as its strengths and weaknesses. Plus, keeping things on topic, we attempt to answer whether Tom Cruise's stunt-filled outings serve as a suitable alternative to Bond for classic fans who weren't won over by Daniel Craig's grittier, more grounded films. We'd love to hear your thoughts on Mission: Impossible vs James Bond, so please email us via bondandbeyondpod@gmail.com. Send us a textSPECIAL NOTE: SEASON 15 OF THE GOOD, THE POD AND THE UGLY CELEBRATES THE USE OF THE PRACTICAL AND DIGITAL EFFECT KNOWN AS THE SQUIB. IRL GUN VIOLENCE IS INTOLERABLE AND RENOUNCED BUT... CINEMATIC VIOLENCE WILL BE CELEBRATED IN A WAY THAT MAY DISTURB SOME LISTENERS. Yo, put the da bomb rap-rock mix CD on the Walkman, brush off your fly three-button boxy suit, and get your pre-9/1l cool on fo' shizzle, home skillet, as TGTPTU breaks with its patent-pending temporal pincer movement to cover THE WAY OF THE GUN (2000). Before he (strike as appropriate: ruined / renewed / continued) the Mission Impossible film franchise but after winning the Best Original Screenplay Oscar for 1995's The Usual Suspects, Christopher McQuarrie would write and direct this (strike as appropriate: possible war crime / secret masterpiece / neo-Western action-thriller satire), and land in director jail. Unlike a highly successful sequel he'd write and produce two decades later also with “gun” in the title, McQuarrie's directorial debut was not “top,” nor would it receive any Academy noms for Orig Screenplay or Best Pic. Instead, it would be twelve years before McQuarrie would direct again when he'd write and direct Jack Reacher (the one ((strike as appropriate: starring / miscast)) with Tom Cruise). The Way of the Gun was purportedly McQuarrie's attempt to unmake the antihero criminal movie popular by the late-90s by going further than other films had in making its felonious buddy protagonists not just unlikeable but reprehensible. Selected for the job, after many turned down the role, Ryan Phillippe who got a haircut and adopted a voice for the role of Parker (no relation to the Richard Stark series) and the always magnetic Benicio del Toro as Longbaugh. These two petty but also not-so-petty criminals happen upon a scheme during their brief road trip's peeing in bottles, punching women, and distributing sperm to banks for quick cash, a plan involving kidnapping for ransom a surrogate mother named Robin (played by Juliette Lewis) who SPOILER ALERT whose baby doctor is her baby daddy who, despite having a different last name, is SPOILER the son of the expected father of the embryo that didn't take and the plot gets (strike as appropriate: purposively complex / even dumber / more twisted / majorly buggin') from there. Another Lewis, pod favorite and Juliette's father Geoffrey, is introduced (strike as appropriate: losing / winning) at a complex variation of Russian roulette as part of James Caan's Members-only posse who mount up for the film's squibbiest moment, a finale at a Mexican cantina and whorehouse. O.G. host Ken casts Jonah Hill as Jonah Hex in a McG remake of the film while hosts Thomas and Ryan introduce Natural Born Killers into the chat, wondering if it not The Friends of Eddie Coyle for the 90s. Guest host Jack defends the movie's inclusion in Season 15 as all that and a bag of chips and not wiggity wiggity wack. Next week is Robocop. Psych! My bad. That's in the pairing after next. Laci and Matt revisit Interview With The Vampire (1994), a movie the podcast covered back in 2018, in the Old Testament days. Much more care and attention is given this time, because there's so much to love… and so much to be confused by. Has a movie ever been dragged down so much by its whiny-baby lead character as this movie is by Louis (Brad Pitt)? Rather than spending eternity partying with his good buddy Lestat (Tom Cruise), he just putters around and around, moaning and complaining like some unholy combination of Charlie Brown and Eeyore. And rest assured, he will tell you, at length, about how conflicted he feels about the whole “vampire” thing. So get ready. Other than that, the movie's a blast. Tom Cruise is wonderful, Kirsten Dunst gives an all-time great kid performance, and the Stan Winston makeup can't be beat. Tonight's Triple Feature is a director spotlight on Michael Mann, a filmmaker who has built his career around professionals under pressure and the costs of living by codes. We begin with Ferrari (2023) — a film Mann spent decades trying to make. Starring Adam Driver as Enzo Ferrari, the movie takes place in the summer of 1957, when Ferrari's company was facing bankruptcy, his marriage was crumbling, and the infamous Mille Miglia race loomed large. It's not just a biopic but a portrait of obsession: the relentless drive to build something lasting, even as personal and public tragedies pile up.From there we move to Heat (1995), Mann's defining crime epic. Al Pacino plays Vincent Hanna, an LAPD detective, while Robert De Niro plays Neil McCauley, a career thief. Both men are at the top of their respective crafts, and both are consumed by their work to the point of personal ruin. The film's legacy is monumental—praised for its authenticity, its attention to detail in portraying criminal life, and of course, the first face-to-face meeting of Pacino and De Niro on screen. Finally, we close with Collateral (2004), a lean, modern thriller shot largely on digital cameras when that technology was still new. Tom Cruise plays Vincent, a contract killer who hires Jamie Foxx's cab driver, Max, to ferry him around Los Angeles during a night of assassinations. It's a film about chance encounters, moral choices, and the ways ordinary lives are disrupted by the professional ruthlessness of others.Together, these films illustrate Mann's enduring obsessions: characters defined by their craft, stories where professionalism is both armor and curse, and worlds where the pursuit of excellence isolates people from human connection. Whether it's a race car mogul, a master thief, or a contract killer, Michael Mann's protagonists live—and often die—by the codes they set for themselves.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

Like The Mummy 2017, everything we've been covering up to this point has lead us here. The Dark Universe has had its fair share of failures but none quite as spectacular as the 2017 reboot/sequel/franchise launching Tom Cruise vehicle The Mummy. With Universal pumping nearly 200 million dollars into the budget including a brand new logo and the reveal of it's upcoming film slate in a hilarious promo photo featuring the likes of Javier Bardem and Johnny Depp this outing was nothing but an unmitigated disaster. And thats's why we love it. Not the movie but all the stuff around it. While Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s separation has stunned fans, the chatter linking Tom Cruise to the split is pure fantasy. Jay-Z personally fought for Bad Bunny to headline halftime, pushing the NFL to embrace diversity in its biggest spotlight. Prince William has finally won the family war, convincing King Charles to permanently sideline Prince Andrew from all public-facing royal duties.
