Tom was at the end of his rope, ready to take his life, then the Holy Spirit showed up in a powerful way. Pastor Tom Akins is from Statesboro, Georgia and now lives in Wrightsville, Georgia He  is the pastor at Oaky Grove Church and runs a huge business at Akins Farm.  He studied Business at Georgia Southern University Also studied Andersonville Theological Seminary and Grace Valley Theological Seminary. Tom was down on his knees on a Wednesday night after church with a gun held to his temple, in complete despair and hopelessness. His finger slipped off the trigger while he was trying to pull it, and all of a sudden he broke, he cried out to God, “God if you don't do something in the next 60 seconds I am going to pull the trigger and come be with you.” Needless to say, Tom was at the end of his rope. It was the end of his marriage as he had known it, but at the beginning of a new season!  Tom said being a pastor you're not allowed to divorce, even though it was not his fault, so how could he go on? Do you want to know what to do when you are at the end of your rope?  Maybe you're at the end of your marriage, or the end of your  God given dream, or you feel  there is no hope for your future or maybe …….it's for a  specific promise God made to you!  Whatever it may be, God has something for you in this podcast!  You have landed on the right page today. You are going to hear all the powerful things that God did for Pastor Tom  while trying to take his life!  Tom found himself surrendering to the power of the Holy Spirit and giving all his brokenness to Jesus.  A baptist, broken, suicidal preacher fell under the power of the Holy Spirit while the pistol was still held to his temple! You don't want to miss not even one detail of this powerful story of redemption! On December 20, 2022, Kadin Black, a beloved 19-year-old son and brother, was reported missing in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania. His family hadn't heard from him for three days, and he had failed to show up at his dad's house for a pre-planned get-together, which was out of character. The police immediately launched an investigation into Kadin's disappearance, but there was no sign of him anywhere. It's been just over 16 months since Kadin went missing, and investigators are still searching for him… 19-year-old Kadin Black last contacted his family on December 17, 2022. His phone connected to the WiFi at the Foust home on Vickilee Drive in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania, at around 9:30 am on the 18th. At that time, his phone also pinged in the same vicinity. After 9:30, his phone was either turned off or died. No sign of Kadin has been found since then. Kadin is a light skinned Black male with dark brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5'10”, 160 pounds, and has an athletic build. It's unclear what he was last wearing. A Facebook page named "Find Kadin Black" has been created for people to learn additional information and keep Kadin's name circulating. Hey Identifier, #herschelwalker #toybadge #police https://www.nytimes.com/2022/10/15/us/politics/walker-warnock-debate-police-badge.html savannah, Ga. — Herschel Walker, the Republican candidate in Georgia's pivotal Senate race, drew some head scratches — and a debate moderator's rebuke — when he brandished an honorary sheriff's badge on Friday while debating his Democratic opponent, Senator Raphael Warnock. In a moment that ricocheted online, Mr. Walker, a football legend endorsed by former President Donald J. Trump, was responding to Mr. Warnock's accusations that he had misrepresented himself as a law enforcement officer and had previously threatened to commit acts of violence. But Mr. Walker's flaunting of the honorary badge, a recognition not unusual for celebrities to receive, brought new scrutiny to his credentials and the loosely defined relationships that can emerge between law enforcement agencies and famous people. The moment unfolded after Mr. Warnock made claims about Mr. Walker's professional history, saying that Mr. Walker “has a problem with the truth.” “One thing I have not done — I've never pretended to be a police officer, and I've never threatened a shootout with police,” Mr. Warnock said, referencing controversies in Mr. Walker's past. At which point, Mr. Walker flashed the badge in response, saying he had “worked with many police officers.” The badge was given to him in recognition of community service work he had done with the Cobb County sheriff's department, according to his campaign spokesman, Will Kiley. Mr. Walker also has an honorary badge from the sheriff department in Johnson County in East Georgia, which includes his hometown, Wrightsville. Representatives for the sheriff's departments in both counties were unavailable for comment. Today on The DooDoo Diva's Smells Like Money Podcast, Chad Smeltzer opens the discussion on the most common problems in government procurement. In the age of digitalization, there's so much that technology can do in the procurement systems of business entities. But at the same time, so much of that potential isn't utilized. As the founder and CEO of Bidcurement, Chad talks about the archaic procurement systems that need upgrading and how Bidcurement works to digitize specification documents and streamline every phase of any procurement process. This episode covers: · Where did Bidcurement come from? · How we approach procurement is so archaic · What can a digital procurement system do? · An AI system in replacement of commodity codes · Search optimization for minority businesses in the procurement process About Chad Smeltzer: Chad's career began in Wastewater/Public Works at the age of 15 in Wrightsville, PA. After graduating from high school, he entered directly into the workforce. During that time, he maintained several titles such as Senior Technician, Operations Manager, and Account Manager. Chad created his first start-up company, EPS Products, in 2008, where he used biological technology, called Bioremediation, to break down fats, oils, and grease in sewer systems. EPS Products was later acquired by Duke's Root Control, at which point Chad began a career as a Consultant and a Contractor. He began working with governments all across the Midwest. In 2016, Chad co-founded a second start-up. Together with a team called Midwest Water Group DBA RMS Utility Services, he utilized new technology to help prioritize collection systems and built a digital asset management software platform. RMS Utilities was acquired by Duke's Root Control in 2020. Chad's vast knowledge, work history, and experience in the industry led him to his current passion: fixing the local antiquated procurement processes of local and state government with software. He has created multiple digital projects in order to streamline procurement. He is an executive producer, director, screenwriter, screenwriting instructor, actor, and author. If you have questions or comments for Richard or Dennis, please add them to the comments. Richard's career started out as a physical therapist. His current career started out when he was discovered and asked to be in some commercials. He's made several LGBTQ films, most notably "Children of God" that he produced. It went on to win 27 international film festival awards. Another great LGBTQ film he wrote, produced, and directed is "Naked as We Came" which may be currently watched on Amazon Prime, Hulu, and other streaming services. Watch or listen to the conversation to hear Dennis' review and recommendation of "Naked as We Came". Other film titles currently on Amazon Prime included "Whirlwind", "200 American", and Blood Bound". He was the director of the remake of Francis Ford Coppola's first firm "Dementia 13" for Universal, also currently on Amazon Prime. www.rlemay.com www.nakedaswecamethemovie.com Link to his profile on IMDb: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0501165/ Connect with Richard on OutBüro: https://outburo.com/profile/richardlemay/ We chat about how fear of asking for help can hold you back in your career. He learned by doing many roles in filmmaking. By doing so he has an understanding of all roles and the process. On projects, Richard is open to considering ideas from others. As the film director, he wants the best possible outcome and has to make the decisions in a timely manner. As he states, "the best idea wins". Richard's first gay novel is "All The Way to Wrightsville" is a coming-of-age story. Who says you can't run away from your problems? Twenty-one-year-old Pete plans to do just that: run away from his blue-collar, Massachusetts upbringing, his anger issues, and most importantly, Jackson, his overbearing twin brother. And while he's at it, he'll take his deepest secret with him. A recent college graduate, Pete moves to North Carolina to start his new job and his new life. After years of being compared to his gregarious and lovable twin, he needs to create an identity of his own and not be seen as the “angry one” or “Jackson's brother.” What he finds are the same problems that have always held him back. That is until he has an affair with his boss, who is married with two kids. What starts out as a dream come true begins to take a darker turn, until Jackson shows up in North Carolina to—once again—upend Pete's life. Although Jackson's intentions are pure, his help is reckless. He drags Pete out of the closet and tries his hardest to point him in the direction of real love. Wickedly funny, sexy, and deeply touching, ALL THE WAY TO WRIGHTSVILLE is the story of one man's journey to find himself…and maybe even true love along the way. The event occurred as the witness arrived home along the Susquehanna River in York County just after 7 p.m. on January 9, 2018. “We heard and witnessed a helicopter with a searchlight, hovering over and scanning the countryside and water,” the witness stated. “As we watched it, we became aware of four other aircraft flying at a higher altitude than the helicopter.” The chopper continued moving away heading north. “The craft flew in a pattern directly over our home. They were triangular in shape. Possessed pulsating lights. Their surface was black, but reflective. They flew northwest. Entire encounter took four minutes.” Witness and girlfriend had just returned from dinner and she also saw the craft from the driveway. Considered filming it with phone but could not get it to focus properly. Pennsylvania MUFON State Section Director John Weaver closed this case as an Unknown Aerial Vehicle. “Helicopter presence is not uncommon (checking for river ice buildup) in this area (confirmed by others who live nearby – a river rescue station is also close to this popular boating area known as ‘Long Level') and evidently had no association with the four unidentified craft,” Weaver stated in his report. “Helicopter continued north following Susquehanna River. What does a congregation do when registration is too low to warrant the implementation of a previously-planned summer VBS? For the Anchor Presbyterian Church in Wrightsville, they pivoted volunteer energies of committed middle school youth and launched an impromptu, week-long experiment in local mission. “I didn’t want to lose the opportunity to minister to the youth,” remarked Rev. Leah Miller, pastor of the Anchor Presbyterian Church. “Kids have the hope of Christ to share, just like adults do, so why not start that early. Why not give them opportunities to express and share that hope and God’s love from where they are now?” An experiment in love of neighbor, The Week of Hope not only empowered youth in their community as participants in God’s mission, but also affirmed the congregation that they indeed had a ministry for youth. Listen in as we hear from two teenagers and their pastor. Full Story Available Here:
