Back at home, we've been battling some front yard struggles, those never-ending landscaping challenges! Of course, no month is complete without a few leisurely brunches, and finally, the coveted SFTH Fantasy Football trophy has been awarded, marking the end of another thrilling season. News Highlights The news cycle has been intense. A woman is facing serious prison time for performing illegal abortions, a stark reminder of the ongoing debates surrounding reproductive rights. An Alaskan Airlines worker was terminated for twerking, sparking discussions about workplace conduct and social media. Southwest Airlines announced they're eliminating free luggage, a move sure to impact travelers. Air travel is, relatively speaking, very safe and efficient. But few are aware how many runway incursions, near collisions, etc., occur every year regardless of the political nature of government and its policies. When incidents do occur, we tend to blame those in charge which results in a serious issue being politicized by both sides - one denies and one exaggerates. Of focus, a single incident makes common problems seem uncommon and air travel more dangerous. However, there is some legitimate concern to be had with the FAA's new hiring guidelines, which include providing employment to the following problems: “hearing, vision, missing extremities, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability and dwarfism.” Although not every air-incident can be blamed on stupidity - as they are usually the results of laziness, honestly missed details, exhaustion, etc. - other cases can be directly linked to Diversity-Equity-Inclusion, such as United 767-300ER (where the First Officer was a fired flight attendant enrolled in the DEI Pilot Training program), United Airlines 777 which plummeted to within a few hundred feet of the ocean after take off from Hawaii (where the pilot clearly didn't know what they were doing), and the recent Alaskan Airlines 737-900 MAX incident where a door blew off mid flight because bolts were missing from assembly (partly the fault of Spirit Aerosystems Engineering, a company concerned first and foremost with DEI, and partly Alaskan Airlines' fault for having flown the new plane with emergency pressure warnings going off). There is no word if the flaming Atlas Air Boeing 747-8 cargo plane with a soft-ball size hole in its engine, or the Virgin Atlantic flight with missing wing screws, are relatable. What is certain is that United, Alaskan, Delta, Spirit, and Southwest, are more concerned with how the public views their DEI policies than they are the public's perception of safety. One should wonder why all of these supposedly competing companies chose to adopt the same slogans and imagery. Perhaps United chose the DEI route because their CEO dresses in drag, and wants 50% of new hires to “be women or people of color.” It just doesn't make any sense that when “qualification” is used as a baseline for hiring, defenders of DEI say that blacks, for example, have trouble becoming pilots because of education and discrimination, despite 3.4% of pilots being black already (out of a population of 14% US) - as if black people inherently are uneducated and legally restricted from becoming pilots in a predominantly white county. This itself is racism! When you look at people like Sam Britton and Pete Buttigieg it becomes clear we are dealing with an ideological cult that puts public safety last, even the perception of it, in favor of sexualized and racialized policies that violate all basic standards of equal protection in the United States.-FREE ARCHIVE (w. ads)SUBSCRIPTION ARCHIVEX / TWITTER FACEBOOKWEBSITEPAYPALCashApp: $rdgable EMAIL: rdgable@yahoo.com / TSTRadio@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/tst-radio--5328407/support.

It's Friday the 13th & it's still kinda hot. Looks like it's going to stay in the mid 80's for the next week or so. We kicked things off this morning with Talked about Tua's concussion from last night's Bills/Dolphins game, and we also talked about the Brewers win over the Giants, along with the sad news that Hank the Dog had passed away. Heart-warming story about a missing painting with a lot of sentimental value that was recently returned to it's owner. Shannon Sharpe claimed he was hacked, but finally owned up to his recent livestream on Insta. Let you know what's on TV & in theaters this weekend. Funny video of a grandmother's birthday cake that had 80 candles that refused to be blown out. After discussing the first ever privately funded spacewalk, we asked the question, "Would you rather be stuck in a boat in the middle of the ocean, or stuck in a space station in space?" Doc joined us to talk racing, and during today's "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a woman who got in legal trouble for a water gun, a reverend that got busted in Vegas with guns & drugs, an Alaskan Airlines jet that almost collided with another plane, a wild attack at a Panera, a guy who stole a truck because of the Fritos inside, a cave that got infected by Cheetos, a couple that tried to have sex in a stranger's driveway in broad daylight, and a guy who used a cuke in a sex act. Boeing has big problems. In January, an Alaskan Airlines flight made headlines after a door plug blew off because of faulty plugs during the flight, causing panic and major safety concerns. Following the incident, 33 of the 89 audits conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration failed, propelling Boeing back into the hot seat. A handful of recent in-flight incidents since then have raised general concerns about airline safety and put even more pressure on the world's largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners. Aviation expert and President of Boyd Group International, Michael Boyd, joined host Dave Anthony this past week to discuss Boeing's recent issues and whether or not air travel is safe. Boyd explained what factors could be leading to some of the recent mechanical concerns and why he thinks the FAA needs to be doing more to ensure the safety of passengers. We made edits for time and thought you might like to hear more about Boeing's recent issues. On today's FOX News Rundown Extra, you'll hear our entire conversation with aviation expert Mike Boyd. It's Friday, January 19th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus North Korea's hostility to Christianity A North Korean young woman, named Ji Ho, said, “They came for my father while I was at school. When I opened the gate to our house that day, I heard shouting and saw state security agents with shovels, digging in the garden,” reports Open Doors. She said, “As they dug outside in our small garden, they found [my father's Bible], wrapped in plastic. One of the policemen came inside, holding the book, looking triumphant. He kicked over our small table as we cowered in the corner, flinging dishes everywhere, and threw the book down at my father's feet. “My father and I both sobbed. In that moment, we knew we'd never see each other again.” For years, her father had loved to read her stories out of the book. He said, “A wise man sat on a mountain and began to teach. He said, ‘When salt loses its taste, what good is it?' People are like salt. If we lose our kindness for others, we lose our humanity. Always keep your saltiness, Ji Ho.'” Years later, Ji Ho providentially stumbled upon a Christian station broadcast out of South Korea and she heard those same words from Matthew 5 about being the salt of the earth. She felt convicted to share the meager vegetables from her garden with her neighbors who had no garden. She said, “I'm a Christian now, serving the same Jesus as my father and the people on the radio. I might be the only Christian in North Korea. I hope that someday, I can meet another follower of Jesus.” Open Doors operates a radio broadcast each day to help strengthen the secret church in North Korea and to grow the faith of believers inside that spiritually dark country. Romans 10:15 declares, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring Good News!” U.S. hit anti-ship missiles of Muslim Houthis On Tuesday, the United States launched a new strike against the Yemen-based Houthis, a Muslim terrorist group, hitting anti-ship missiles in the third assault on the Iranian-backed group in recent days, reports The Associated Press. The strike came as the Iranian-backed Houthis claimed responsibility for a missile attack the same day against the Malta-flagged bulk carrier Zografia, in the Red Sea. The ship was hit, but no one was injured. The vessel had been heading north to the Suez Canal when it was attacked. The American strike destroyed four Houthi ballistic missiles that were prepared to launch and presented an imminent threat to merchant and U.S. Navy ships in the region. Despite the massive U.S. and British assault on the group, bombing more than 60 targets in 28 locations using warship- and submarine-launched Tomahawk missiles and fighter jets, there has been no let-up in Houthi attacks on shipping in the region. Vice President Harris: “We should all be scared” Trump could win Vice President Kamala Harris discussed the 2024 election campaign during an appearance Wednesday morning on ABC's "The View," reports RealClearPolitics.com. Here is the set-up question from Joy Behar. JOY BEHAR: “Some heavy-hitting Democrats are sounding the alarm. Behind closed doors, President Obama reportedly has said that he thinks the Biden campaign is too complacent when it comes to Trump. Representative Jim Clyburn has said the campaign isn't breaking through the [Make America Great Again] wall. Michelle Obama says she's terrified, as we are, about the potential outcome of the election. “Now, are you scared? First of all, what could happen if Trump ever became, God forbid, president again? And what are you going to do to stop the crazies?” KAMALA HARRIS: “I am scared as heck." BEHAR: “Yeah.” HARRIS: “… which is why I'm traveling our country. You know, there's an old saying that there are only two ways to run for office: either without an opponent or scared. We should all be scared.” 41 weather-related deaths across America Since Sunday, there have been at least 41 weather-related deaths across the United States, as an arctic blast continues to unleash heavy snow and icy temperatures from coast to coast, reports ABC News. As of Thursday evening, more than 80 million Americans across 30 states were on alert for cold or snowy weather. Winter storm warnings and winter weather advisories issued by the National Weather Service stretch from Montana all the way to the New Jersey shoreline as a fast-moving storm system takes aim. Alaskan Airlines blowout led to emergency landing And finally, on Friday night, January 5th, an Alaska Airlines flight traveling from Portland, Oregon, to Ontario, California, had to make an emergency landing after a portion of the aircraft, a door plug, blew out mid-air, reports CBS News. One woman aboard the flight said, "All of a sudden I heard a big bang. I didn't know exactly what was going on. I look up and the oxygen masks were hanging from the ceiling and then I look to my left and there's this huge chunk, part of the airplane just missing. The wind is just extremely loud; there's wind blowing everywhere." Passengers say that one of the people sitting in the row where the airplane panel blew out was a child. A male eyewitness said, "There was a kid in that row, his shirt was sucked off him and out of the plane. His mother was holding onto him to make sure he didn't go with it.” Like God used an angel to guard the Israelites in the desert, so too God might have used an angel to protect that boy. In Exodus 23:20, God said, “See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.” Providentially, there was no one seated directly next to the window. No one died as a result of the blowout. Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 left Portland at 4:52 p.m. Pacific Time. The aircraft returned to Portland and landed safely just before 5:30 p.m. The jet, which had 174 passengers and six crew members aboard, reached 16,000 feet six minutes into the flight before beginning its descent. Boeing, the manufacturer of the 737 Max 9 aircraft, told employees Monday that it plans to increase quality inspections, following the failure of an emergency exit door panel on that flight, reports ABC News. The inspections come after Federal regulators grounded the 737 Max airplanes. Boeing said, it is "clear that we are not where we need to be" on quality assurance and controls. According to its website, the FAA claims, "Individuals with targeted or 'severe' disabilities are the most under-represented segment of the Federal workforce." Under its People with Disabilities Program, the agency says it "actively recruits, hires, promotes, retains, develops and advances people with disabilities." The FAA targets the following disabilities as a matter of policy: "Hearing, vision, missing extremities, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability and dwarfism." The FAA told Fox News that it "seeks qualified candidates from as many sources as possible, all of whom must meet rigorous qualifications that of course will vary by position." Its website reveals that those with disabilities or those who have a veteran status can also be hired via the non-competitive, "on-the-spot" process as long as a manager files the proper paperwork, thus giving them preferential treatment in the hiring process. The aviation industry has received further scrutiny from the public in the wake of an Alaska Airlines door plug being blown off the side of its two-month-old Boeing 737-9 MAX aircraft causing it to make an emergency landing. In a post on X, tech mogul Elon Musk asked, "Do you want to fly in an airplane where they prioritize DEI hiring over your safety?" He added, "That is actually happening." "People will die due to DEI," Musk said. Musk's comments came in response to a report that revealed in 2022 that Boeing began prioritizing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as part of its hiring process in 2022. The Alaskan Airlines situation came on the heels of a shocking report in December, which showed there were 19 instances where planes nearly crashed into each other at airports in the first ten months of 2023. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/business/2795955/shark-tank-powerhouse-investor-says-he-wont-invest-in-california-bad-policy/ Shark Tank powerhouse investor says he won’t invest in California: ‘Bad policy’ Kevin O’Leary of Shark Tank revealed he would not make business investments in several Democratic states, including California. O’Leary explained his reasoning in a yet-to-be-released episode of Sen. Marsha Blackburn’s (R-TN) show Unmuted. According to a transcript reviewed by Townhall, the politics of a state help O’Leary determine where to invest. “I’m not trying to get involved in the partisanship of this statement. Just a fact, I don’t invest in New York, I don’t invest in Massachusetts, I don’t invest in California. In my mind, those are examples of states that are uninvestable because of bad policy,” O’Leary said. “So, I’m looking for the path of least resistance. If you make it hard for me to make money, I just take my money and go somewhere else.” California in particular is ranked in the top ten for sales taxes and corporate taxes, according to the Tax Foundation, while New York is in the top ten only for its sales tax. O’Leary pointed to Tennessee as an example of a state with “fantastic tax policy, reduced regulatory environment, reduced permitting time.” Any other state that doesn’t implement these business-friendly policies is at risk of “killing jobs,” according to O’Leary. The Canadian investor started his own venture capital firm O’Leary Ventures last year, over 15 years after his first appearance on Shark Tank where he spends episodes deciding in what small businesses he desires to invest. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2024/01/15/report-white-house-swatted-prank-caller-claiming-residence-on-fire/ White House Swatted by ‘Prank Caller’ Claiming Residence on Fire Fire trucks and ambulances reportedly rushed to the White House Monday morning around seven o’clock after a “prank caller” claimed the residence was on fire and someone was trapped inside. The incident represents the latest swatting event against political officials. Dangerous swatting events appear to have first been instigated by Democrat prank callers against political opponents. The prank call at the White House forced fire trucks and ambulances to rush to a snow-covered White House, the Daily Mail reported. After arriving, the District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services and the U.S. Secret Service determined the incident was a false alarm. “Fire in the White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue,” a Washington, DC, dispatcher said at 7:04 a.m. Authorities gave an “all clear” order at 7:15 AM. President Joe Biden was located at Camp David on Monday morning, far away from the residence. Authorities traced the prank call to an apparently spoofed phone number, a source told CNN. “Someone who was reached at the callback number for the 911 report indicated they did not place it, a source told the Associated Press, indicating it was likely spoofed,” the Daily Mail reported. Recent politicians who were swatted include Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), along with celebrities Ashton Kutcher, Justin Bieber, and Kim Kardashian. https://abcnews.go.com/Business/wireStory/yemen-houthi-rebels-fire-missile-us-warship-red-106370679 Houthi rebels strike a U.S.-owned ship off the coast of Yemen in the Gulf of Aden, raising tensions Houthi rebels fired a missile, striking a U.S.-owned ship Monday just off the coast of Yemen in the Gulf of Aden, less than a day after they launched an anti-ship cruise missile toward an American destroyer in the Red Sea. The attack on the Gibraltar Eagle, later claimed by the Houthis, further escalates tensions gripping the Red Sea after American-led strikes on the rebels. The Houthis' attacks have roiled global shipping, amid Israel's war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip, targeting a crucial corridor linking Asian and Mideast energy and cargo shipments to the Suez Canal onward to Europe. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations, which oversees Mideast waters, said Monday's attack happened some 110 miles (177 kilometers) miles southeast of Aden. It said the ship’s captain reported that the “port side of vessel hit from above by a missile.” Private security firms Ambrey and Dryad Global told The Associated Press that the vessel was the Eagle Gibraltar, a Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier. The U.S. military's Central Command later acknowledged the strike. “The ship has reported no injuries or significant damage and is continuing its journey,” Central Command said. Houthi military spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree claimed the attack in a recorded television address that aired Monday night. “The Yemeni armed forces consider all American and British ships and warships participating in the aggression against our country as hostile targets,” he said. The vessel is owned by Eagle Bulk Shipping, a Stamford, Connecticut-based firm traded on the New York Stock Exchange. In a statement to the AP, the company acknowledged the strike and said it caused “limited damage to a cargo hold but (the ship) is stable and is heading out of the area.” “All seafarers onboard the vessel are confirmed to be uninjured,” the firm said. “The vessel is carrying a cargo of steel products. Eagle Bulk management is in close contact with all relevant authorities concerning this matter.” Satellite-tracking data analyzed by the AP showed the Eagle Gibraltar had been bound for the Suez Canal, but rapidly turned around at the time of the attack. Central Command said it detected a separate anti-ship ballistic missile launch toward the southern Red Sea on Monday, though it ”failed in flight and impacted on land in Yemen." The U.S. Maritime Administration, under the Transportation Department, also issued a warning Monday saying there continues to be “a high degree of risk to commercial vessels” traveling near Yemen. “While the decision to transit remains at the discretion of individual vessels and companies, it is recommended that U.S. flag and U.S.-owned commercial vessels” stay away from Yemen in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden “until further notice,” the advisory said. Sunday's missile launch toward the American warship also marked the first U.S.-acknowledged fire by the Houthis since America and allied nations began strikes Friday on the rebels following weeks of assaults on shipping in the Red Sea. The Houthi fire in the direction of the USS Laboon, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer operating in the southern reaches of the Red Sea, Central Command said. The missile came from near Hodeida, a Red Sea port city long held by the Houthis, the U.S. said. “An anti-ship cruise missile was fired from Iranian-backed Houthi militant areas of Yemen toward USS Laboon,” Central Command said. “There were no injuries or damage reported." The Houthis did not acknowledge that attack. It wasn’t presently clear whether the U.S. would retaliate for the latest attacks, though President Joe Biden has said he “will not hesitate to direct further measures to protect our people and the free flow of international commerce as necessary.” The first day of U.S.-led strikes Friday hit 28 locations and struck more than 60 targets with cruise missiles and bombs launched by fighter jets, warships and a submarine. Sites hit included weapon depots, radars and command centers, including in remote mountain areas, the U.S. has said. The Houthis have yet to acknowledge how severe the damage was from the strikes, which they said killed five of their troops and wounded six others. U.S. forces followed up with a strike Saturday on a Houthi radar site.
