Jacques has a conversation with Tuffy Morwitzer, an activist from the Goongerah Environment Centre (GECO), about their reaction to the Andrews Government decision to stop logging old-growth forests by the end of the year - six years earlier than originally planned. Whilst that is a big relief for the 30 year old activist group - with whom Borderlands cooperated in the late 90s during the Goolongook tree-sits which lasted five years - GECO is very much watching the 'fine print' of the legislation for loopholes which are always sitting in such documents. The logging industry has a long and sorry story about finding - or even creating - loopholes.GECO is at present cooperating with First Nations elders to prepare for Aboriginal controlled regeneration, rehabilitating water ways, creating an economy of care, and creating a commons which may be offering healing for nature and wildlife - especially threatened species - for local humans and visiting humans alike.

RBA Governor Phillip Lowe suggested more people live together to remedy Australia's housing shortage. It's been a week of consequence in Australia's legal system with the Ben Roberts Smith Defamation verdict and Bruce Lerhmann breaking his silence. I'll break down all the facts and disputed facts on Tim's News Explosion. Melbourne experienced two aftershocks following last week's Sunbury-centred earthquake, there weren't any aftershocks in Melbourne after Victoria's 2021 earthquake. Following backlash, Dan Andrews has backed away from one of his new budget measures to remove the payroll tax exemption for private schools. VicRoads has ordered a motorist to hand back his Dan Out numberplates deeming them inappropriate. Victoria Police had to turn off social media comments on its advertisements for its Public Order Response Teams that brutalized Victorians during lockdowns. The suggestions from Reserve Bank Governor Phillip Lowe before Senate Estimates that Australians should work longer to lessen the blow of inflation and more people should live in the same household since the housing supply isn't keeping up with demand were not well received by the public. Hancock Prospecting owner Gina Rinehart has been named the 2023 Western Australian of the Year for her philanthropy. Roger Cook will replace Mark McGowan as WA Premier. The West Australian newspaper published an op-ed about how residents can grieve the loss of their state daddy. Airbus Albo travelled first to Singapore for Shangri-La Security Dialogue then onto Vietnam to drink beer with the locals. The latest Newspoll has the Aboriginal voice referendum at 46% Yes and 43%. Clearly the race blackmail is having the opposite effect on voters. Victoria Cross recipient Ben Roberts-Smith lost his defamation case against Nine, Nick McKenzie and Chris Masters with Federal Judge Anthony Besanko ruling they proved their accusations he committed war crimes in Afghanistan. Roberts-Smith has not been found guilty let alone charged with any war crimes. He was backed in his defamation case by his employer Kerry Stokes at Channel Seven. Bruce Lehrmann the man accused by Brittany Higgins of raping her in Linda Reynolds's office in 2019 gave an interview to Liam Bartlett on 7News Spotlight. Featured in that interview was CCTV footage from that night in Parliament House where Brittany Higgins looked excited to be there. Also aired was Lisa Wilkinson and her producer's pre-project interview chat with Higgins and her boyfriend David Sharaz where Wilkinson suggested things for Higgins to say during the interview. The four former Hawthorn Indigenous players who accused former coaches Alistair Clarkson and Chris Fagan of mistreatment have outed themselves and launched a Human Rights Commission complaint. One of the former players is Cyril Rioli whose wife Shannyn Ah Sam-Rioli believed a joke by former President Jeff Kennett about her ripped jeans was racist. Two National Socialist Network members Michael Nelson and Nathan Bull performed the Nazi salute with t-shirts that said 6 million a bit much at an Iranian protest in Melbourne? The Andrews Government is planning to outlaw the salute. The Queensland Government's proposed Criminal Code (Serious Vilification and Hate Crimes) and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2023 increases the penalty for “bigoted public statements” from six months in prison to three years. Former Vice President Mike Pence is set to announce his 2024 campaign for President. Pence was cleared by the FBI for mishandling classified documents, but Donald Trump has not. Joe Biden fell when after speaking on a stage but was uninjured.  The Daily Wire gave away Matt Walsh's What is a Woman documentary free for the weekend on Twitter. Twitter originally threatened to limit its reach because the documentary features misgendering. But the weekend ended up with Twitter owner Elon Musk pinning the documentary to his account stating it was a must watch for all parents. The British mainstream media continue to platform TikTok social terrorist Mizzy. Phillip Schofield has gone on the PR offensive claiming he's the victim and that his affair with former ITV This Morning runner Mathew McGreevy was something that just happened, he didn't groom the teenager. Schofield said to the BBC he felt like killing himself as Caroline Flack did. The return of mass migration post-pandemic is causing migraines in Australia and the US. The NSN shouted off with SAlt in Melbourne on Saturday at their Stop Immigration Rally. On the US Southern Border illegal crossings have resumed with the Title 42 expulsion order lifted by the Biden Administration. See where people are headed on tonight's Tim's News Explosion. On Saturday the Nazis and Socialists faced off again on Spring Street. The National Socialist Network (NSN) organized a snap Stop Immigration Rally on the steps of Victoria's Parliament House with the Socialist Alternative front group the Campaign Against Racism and Fascism counter protesting. Victoria Police first moved on NSN off the steps then from Spring Street completely. Avi Yemini of Rebel News interviewed Thomas Sewell of the NSN, while attempting to talk to the Socialists he was assaulted by a masked Antifa/Socialist coward thug. Moira Deeming was expelled from the Victorian Liberal Partyroom on the second attempt with Renee Heath a supporter of Deeming removed as Partyroom secretary. The margin for both votes was 19-11. The day before the vote Moira Deeming announced she had sent a defamation concerns notice to Liberal leader John Pesutto. Monica Smit of Reignite Democracy Australia was found guilty today in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court of two breaches of covid rules she was contesting. But no conviction was recorded nor was she fined. Community backlash has seen local governments across Victoria cancelled planned drag queen story times but Nillumbik Council is still planning one at its Eltham Library. An LGBT group calling themselves the Rainbow Community Angels are planning to protect this groomer event. Frankson serial killer Paul Denyer was denied parole but the Andrews Government so far will not support legislation to keep him locked away for life. The Tasmanian Liberal Government is now in minority after Lara Alexander and John Tucker moved to the crossbench over taxpayer funding for the new Hobart AFL stadium. In last week's Federal Budget Treasurer Jim Chalmers announced a $4.2 billion AUD budget surplus thanks to high commodity prices, not due to any spending restraint. Pfizer Australia is the latest corporation to announce they are supporting the constitutionally enshrined Aboriginal Voice. Warren Mundine and Senator Jacinta Price have announced the merger of their respective no campaigns. An inquiry into the aborted prosecution of Bruce Lerhmann who was accused of raping Brittany Higgins has turned into an inquiry into the conduct of the ACT Director of Public Prosecutions Shane Drumgold SC who alleged a political conspiracy against Brittany Higgins but later withdrew that allegation. New Zealand Finance Minister Grant Robertson has been caught following on Instagram an account called Cute Boys Philippines which features what appear to be underage boys in various states of undress. Robertson quietly unfollowed the account but Cam Wilson from the BFD was the only media outlet to put questions to him about this. A New York Jury decided that Donald Trump sexually abused E Jean Carroll in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in the 1990s and defamed her by denying it and ordered him to pay her $5 million in damages. In a CNN Town Hall Trump said he had never met E Jean Carroll who says she might sue him again. CNN host Kaitlan Collins kept attempting to trip Trump up on January 6 and Ukraine. Elon Musk announced former NBCUniversial advertising executive Linda Yaccarino would be the New Twitter CEO. Yaccarino has been a regular attendee at the World Economic Forum where she blamed the internet for the rise of fake news. Elon Musk has said his commitment to free speech hasn't changed. The US Government Title 42 executive order that allowed for the immediate expulsion of illegal migrants has expired. This has led to a migrant surge crossing over the US southern border with Mexico. President Joe Biden told graduate students at predominantly black Howard University that white supremacy is the most dangerous threat to America. Marine Corps veteran Daniel Penny has been charged with second-degree manslaughter in New York after Jordan Neely a 30-year-old violent homeless man died after he put him in a chokehold after he was being aggressive to passengers on the subway. mail: me@timwilms.comMessage: https://t.me/timwilms Wilms Front Links:Entropy: https://entropystream.live/app/wilmsfrontWebsite: http://timwilms.com/Twitter: https://twitter.com/wilmsfrontMinds: https://www.minds.com/timwilmsGab: https://gab.com/timwilmsTelegram: https://t.me/wilmsfrontParler: https://parler.com/profile/timwilms/ Support the Show:Membership: http://www.theunshackled.net/membershipDonate: https://www.theunshackled.net/donate/Paypal: https://www.paypal.me/TheUnshackled Other Unshackled Productions:Trad Tasman Talk: https://www.theunshackled.net/ttt/Report From Tiger Mountain: http://reportfromtigermountain.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

I see through the latest virtue campaigns by the divisive identitarians on Tim's News Explosion. There was a rare victory for people power pushback in Victoria with the Shrine of Remembrance CEO Dean Lee canceling plans yesterday to light up the shrine in rainbow flag colors which he said was to honor LGBTIQ+ veterans. Lee who has never served himself claimed the cancellation was due to ‘threats' and ‘abuse' against Shrine staff. RSL Victoria which was not consulted over the rainbow lights, its President Robert Webster said that a ‘threat' he received was that 10,000 veterans would march on the shrine to stop the rainbow lights. The Shrine did still raise the corrupted rainbow flag which has black and poo brown stripes. Voice of a Veteran Founder and SAS war veteran Heston Russell summed it up perfectly that the shrine is to honor Australian military service and sacrifice and not about the individual identities of the people to sign up to defend and serve Australia. Despite the shrine backlash, the Andrews Government is funding more LGBTIQ+ events with Equality Minister Harriet Shing announcing $220k of taxpayers' money for new grants. Anthony Albanese unveiled the wording of the question he proposes to put to the Australian people at a referendum to enshrine an Aboriginal and Torress Straight Islander Voice to Parliament at the Garma festival. Parliament would have the authority to decide how the Voice is assembled and operates. Polling from the Australia Institute claims that 65% of Australians support the voice. While the Coalition's Shadow Indigenous Affairs Minister Julian Leeser supports the voice new Indigniuous Senator Jacinta Price's slammed the lack of detail about how the voice will actually operate and that process is being led by Indigenous elites. Greens Senator for Victoria Lidia Thorpe called the Queen a colonizer when she was taking her oath of office. She was instructed by Senate President Sue Lines to take the oath as it is printed, which Thorpe did after her stunt so she would be officially a Senator and therefore receive her 200k+ salary from the taxpayer. The first monkeypox deaths outside of Africa during the western outbreak have been recorded with 2 in Spain, and 1 each in Brazil and India. There has been a foot and mouth disease biosecurity breach at Darwin airport with a returning traveler from Bail being fined $2664 for failing to declare egg and beef sausage McMuffins and ham and cheese croissant in their luggage. Joe Biden has had a covid rebound infection after taking Pfizer's Paxlovid oral antivirals which also occurred to Dr Anthony Fauci when he had covid. There has been international outrage at Jacinda Ardern over pregnant NZ journalist Charlotte Bellis being denied a MIQ spot instead of remaining in Afghanistan under the protection of the Taliban even though she is an unmarried woman which is forbidden under Sharia law. In response and after emerging from isolation Ardern announced a complex 5 stage plan to reopen NZ to the whole world without any quarantine by October of this year. The other closed state Western Australia is now facing a food shortage after the road and rail transit routes on the Nullabour are currently flooded. Qantas CEO Alan Joyce has compared WA to North Korea. The local WA Police last night interrupted a Catholic mass to check mask exemptions. Inspired by the Candian Truckers' Convoy many Australians have driven cars and caravans to Canberra to demand an end for vaccine mandates and passports. The ACT Police used brute force to drive the convoy participants from the Patrick White Lawns outside the National Library whom they deemed were packed and camping there illegally. Two ACT police officers were counseled for clinking their pepper spray bottles afterward. During this same week coincidently Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews announced $60 million in funding to combat violent extremism. Although the NZ general election isn't due until the end of 2023 Jacinda Ardern's stardust has taken a tumble in the polls. Finance Minister Grant Robertson has proposed a 3% tax increase in the government's redundancy insurance scheme. The Australian federal election is due in May 2022 with the latest Newspoll seeing Labor leading 56-44 and Morrison now only 2 points ahead of Albanese as Preferred PM 43-41. Scott Morrison's National Press Club speech didn't go to plan with Peter Van Onselen confronting him with a text message where former NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian called him a 'horrible horrible person' with a serving Cabinet Minister replying calling him 'a complete physco'. Victoria's Pandemic Powers Bill is in disarray. As Sky News reported, "Former Labor cabinet minister Adem Somyurek has remained defiant in his opposition to the controversial pandemic powers bill after the Andrews Government successfully delayed a vote in the upper house. The Labor Government moved a motion on Thursday to delay the debate to secure Premier Daniel Andrews more time to pick off only one more cross bencher after Mr Somyurek revealed he would block the legislation. With the Andrews Government now scrambling to negotiate an additional vote before Parliament sits again in two weeks, Mr Somyurek said he could not be “bought off”. “I'm probably the only MP in this place that cannot be bought off,” he told reporters on Friday. “I'm not going to stand again so nobody can buy me off.” Mr Somyurek, who successfully applied to have his suspension lifted on Wednesday after he was banned for failing to disclose his vaccination status, told the Herald Sun his intention to block passage of the bill. The president of the Victorian Bar previously slammed that new pandemic legislation (https://www.legislation.vic.gov.au/bills/public-health-and-wellbeing-amendment-pandemic-management-bill-2021) as “appalling” and claims the government “grossly misrepresented” its consultation with the barristers' peak body. Christopher Blanden, QC, said the new laws, designed to replace sweeping state of emergency powers, would give the Premier unprecedented power with little to no checks and balances. And now they are in limbo. Note some may find this content confronting.

Self Employed Australia has launched a Not Above the Law Campaign, they have identified 142 breaches of OHS and complied a list of Victorian Government officials including the Premier who should be prosecuted for those breaches. On Saturday morning after a week of protests triggered by the Andrews Government jab mandate for the construction industry Victoria Police arrested and charged Harrison McLean who operates the Melbourne Freedom Rally social media channels with incitement. Harrison joins Monica Smit of Reignite Democracy Australia as being another anti-lockdown activist sidelined by an incitement charge and strict bail conditions. The brutal Victora Police crackdown on the protests was beamed all around the world thanks to independent journalists like Rukshan Fernando livestreaming almost every day. Australia is quickly losing the moral high ground when it comes to attacking Communist China for its human rights record, Scott Morrison's address to the United Nations in New York about standing up for human rights lacked any self-awareness. Up in NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and her Deputy John Barilaro announced the next two phases of the state's reopening roadmap. It revealed that the unvaccinated will only be locked out of venues until December 1st which means that as was the case in the United Kingdom the threat of vaccine passports was only a bluff to get more people vaccinated. Gladys and John still say there will be discrimination against the unvaccinated in some form and CHO Dr Kerry Chant says life will never go back to 2019 normal. However, Norway has just gone back to the old normal joining its Scandanavian cousins Denmark and Sweden. Germany held its federal election on Sunday with Chancellor Angela Merkel not seeking re-election after 16 years in power. We also another weekend of Victoria Police brutality beamed all around the world. I break it all down for you on this week's Tim's News Explosion live tonight at 9pm AEST on the WilmsFront channels. Construction workers gathered outside the CFMEU Melbourne office this morning angry about Victorian Secretary John Setka's lack of pushback against the Andrews Government's vaccine mandate for the construction industry announced last week which was to come into effect on Friday. Setka and the Secretary of the ACTU Sally McManus claimed the angry crowd weren't really union members or construction workers but far-right extremists. In breaking news tonight the Andrews Government will shut down the construction sector for two weeks as many covid case clusters have been linked to the industry. At the latest worldwide freedom rally in Melbourne, Victoria Police knocked down an old lady and pepper-sprayed her on the ground, the vision of this shocked the world. Police also pepper-sprayed the Real Rukshan and an Age photographer. Andy Nolch and Senator Slayer Neil Erikson join the news explosion a little later to offer their analysis. Andy believes that Victoria Police deployed rookie officers to the frontline of Saturday's protest knowing they would be overpowered so the media would capture footage of protestors breaking police lines to make them look bad. It's a tale of two Christmases for Westerners. In the Great Southern Land of Australia, the domestic economy is open with us able to semi-freely enjoy our perfect summer. In the Northern Hemisphere, they are experiencing a dark winter with governments reimposing police state lockdowns as coronavirus infections rise. On the midweek edition of WilmsFront, we look at these two polar opposite seasons with guests Harrison McLean, a participant in the Melbourne Freedom Rally movement that has been active since the city's Stage 4 lockdown. Harrison and I review the end of year document dump from the Andrews Government relating to their pandemic response. They chose the police state response from the beginning because they knew their public health teams could not trace or prevent coronavirus infections once it got out into the community. Harrison joined the Melbourne Freedom Rally movement from the first September 5 Freedom Day at the Shrine of Remembrance when Melbourne was still under stage 4 lockdown and has been to most Freedom rallies since. He has received seven fines from Victoria Police for his activism which he intends of challenging in court. More lockdown fines have been withdrawn by Victoria Police than have actually been paid. The Freedom rally movement has evolved into a fully fledged community group. They will not rest until the state of emergency we are still living under Victoria is revoked and all coronavirus surveillance measures are removed. QR code mandatory check-ins in hospitality venues are being enforced and there is much concern about either a government or corporatist mandate of any of the coronavirus vaccines. On this edition of Cory Talks... Following the Australian Federal Government's 2020 Hope, payer and jobs budget, there's anger at the people it leaves out. Most notably half of the population. Also New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian is pretty angry herself. NSW businesses flouting COVID-19 rules has caught her eye. Victoria has been electrified by the prospect that politicians and public servants from the Premier down could be charged and even jailed for deaths attributable to the Hotel Quarantine fiasco, under tendentious new industrial manslaughter laws only recently enacted by the Andrews Government. Governments must be held to account, but is this the job of the courts, or Parliaments and voters? If we start jailing politicians for incompetence, where will it end? (33:25-44:59). Scott Hargreaves and Chris Berg are joined by Research Fellow Morgan Begg to discuss this and also the litany of civil rights violations justified in the name of pandemic. Where have been the institutions meant to defend our freedoms, and what precedent does this rampant State create for our future? (1:50-17:59). The latest concern in Victoria is an “Omnibus Bill”, allowing government appointed ‘authorised officers' to arrest and detain individuals just on the suspicion of intent to break rules. Is this necessary or just a left-wing Government's adaption the Police State/‘law and order' playbook formerly used by the right? (18:00-33:25). Culture picks this week include the new Netflix film, Enola Holmes by Harry Bradbeer; Karl Ove Knausgaard's book on Edvard Munch, So Much Longing in So Little Space; and a Netflix documentary by Jeff Orlowski, The Social Dilemma (44:59-1:04:55).   Shownotes: Letter to WorkSafe Referring Ministers for Investigation; Ken Phillips https://icau.worldsecuresystems.com/Downloads/Corona-Virus/Victoria/SEA-letter-to-WorkSafe-29Sept20.pdf   Four Victorian ministers, 16 public servants may face prosecution over alleged OHS law breaches; Robert Gottliebsen https://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/four-victorian-ministers-16-public-servants-may-face-prosecution-over-alleged-ohs-law-breaches/news-story/20ace50f6e620fe3be9953e6b8dd2290   Picnicking rule-breakers face $5000 fines with police to blanket parks; Simone Fox Koob https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/picnicking-rule-breakers-face-5000-fines-with-police-to-blanket-parks-20200928-p55zxj.html   Regulate? Lockdown restrictions eased for regional Victorians today which meant the ring of steel makeshift wall to keep Melboruians out was tightened. Elsewhere in Australia state border walls remain up and virtually no one is allowed in and out of Australia. The Uncuckables panel discusses the continuation of fortress Australia with Tim Wilms Editor of The Unshackled, David Hiscox Editor of the XYZ, James Fox Higgins Director of Rational Rise TV and Jarrad Searby found of the AMAG Project. Jarrad being a resident of regional Victoria enjoyed some semi-freedom today though he still cannot cross the NSW border to Wodonga's sister city Albury without a permit. Jarrad has founded the Australian Men's Action Group (AMAG Project) to promote fitness and educating men about their rights as Australians. With Melbourians still under curfew and not allowed out further than 5km from their homes Victoria Police have threatened them with a new $5k fine if they try to escape to regional Victoria. Though apparently, Victoria's police state can't function when it rains as was demonstrated at a checkpoint on the way to Geelong on Thursday morning. XYZ Satire is the most accurate predictor of the future with camps for Victorian Government dissents and conspiracy theorists looking possible with the Andrews Government seeking new detention powers for those considered 'high risk' of spreading the coronavirus. The Premier's office this week announced that Victoria's prison capacity would be expanded. The Spectator Australia has also started with its own XYZ inspired close to the truth satire, James Macpherson published a mash-up and Dan's dismissal of human rights concerns and that everything would be better if people didn't object to his government's policies. The lawsuits against the curfew and other lockdown measures are now starting to pile up. One is from a restaurant owner on the Mornington Peninsula Liberal Party member Michelle Loielo. Avi Yemini is suing Victoria Police for his wrongful detainment at the September 5 anti-lockdown protest. A whistleblower in the Victoria Treasury Sanjeev Sabhlok has quit exposing the police state that he believes has Victoria become. The US West Coast is becoming the modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah. Wildfires are ravaging the states of California, Seattle and Washington with more evidence pointing to fires being deliberately lit by Antifa and Black Lives Matter. The wildfires in California correlates with the state enacting laws to lessen the penalty for gay men committing sodomy on minors. If Victoria's current coronavirus lockdown has taught voters anything it's that elections have consequences. Even though civil liberties have been suspended in the state democracy has not. Local government elections are proceeding as scheduled in October. On the midweek edition of WilmsFront we explore how local government operates in Victoria and how you can make sure you cast an informed vote with City of Greater Dandenong Liberal Councillor Timothy Dark. Timothy is the sole Liberal Councillor in Greater Dandenong which has 9 from Labor and 1 Green. The council moving to the single council ward electoral system which has made his re-election campaign difficult. Party affiliation is not required to be disclosed in Victorian local government elections and with the unpopularity of the Victorian Labor brand at present Labor aligned candidates have no red in their election material. Local councils are elected in Victoria for fixed four-year terms, they operate under the council-manager system where the Councillors are part-time and appoint a CEO to run the day to day operations of the council, cities in the US use the strong-major council system with a full-time Mayor who also runs the day to day operation council/city. Timothy is a strong supporter of the role of local government plays in Victoria and to stop councils wasting time with things such as anti-Australia Day motions locals need to elect better Councillors. With the stage 4 lockdown extended for Melbournian's for another six weeks coupled with the dictatorial inflexible approach that Premier Dan Andrews has displayed during the coronavirus second wave and associated lockdown strategy community resentment is growing. There was a revolt in the local Muslim Dandenong community in late August which was aggressively suppressed by Victoria Police. Timothy as a local Councillor thought the police crackdown was over the top and unnecessary. He predicts this could see the Greater Dandenong area turn against Labor. The incompetence and dishonesty of the Andrews Government exposed during the pandemic has awoken the Victorian Liberal Party from its slumber with leader Michael O'Brien and frontbencher Tim Smith getting the Opposition message out much more effectively. Timothy believes for the 2022 state election the Liberals need many young fresh feisty candidates.  Contact: Email: me@timwilms.com Message: https://t.me/timwilms Wilms Front Links: Entropy: https://entropystream.live/app/wilmsfront Website: http://timwilms.com/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/wilmsfront Minds: https://www.minds.com/timwilms Gab: https://gab.com/timwilms Telegram: https://t.me/wilmsfront Parler: https://parler.com/profile/timwilms/ Support the Show: Membership: http://www.theunshackled.net/membership Donate: https://www.theunshackled.net/donate/ Paypal: https://www.paypal.me/TheUnshackled Other Unshackled Productions: The Uncuckables: http://theuncuckables.com/ Report From Tiger Mountain: http://reportfromtigermountain.com/ Other Unshackled Links: Website: https://www.theunshackled.net Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TUnshackled Twitter: https://twitter.com/Un_shackled Gab: https://gab.ai/theunshackled Telegram: https://t.me/theunshackled Minds: https://www.minds.com/The_Unshackled MeWe: https://mewe.com/p/theunshackled Music and Graphics by James Fox Higgins Voice Over by Morgan Munro See omnystudio.com/policies/listener for privacy information.

Hosted by Eiddwen and Will [segment times in brackets] || 3CR is proud to acknowledge the Kulin Nations as true owners and custodians of the lands from which we broadcast. We pay respect to their elders past and present and acknowledge that their sovereignty was never ceded and a treaty has yet to be signed || [08:37] North East Link: The Andrews Government is planning a $16 billion major roads project to connect the Eastern Freeway in Balwyn North and the M80 in Greensborough. Friends of the Earth Melbourne think that now is the wrong time to be pushing more traffic onto the roads and pumping more toxic gasses into the environment. Sustainable Cities Coordinator Rachel Lynskey comes on the show to tell us more about FOE's concerns and how you can make a submission to the ongoing environmental impact assessment process || [26:10] Climate Emergency Action: Last Friday saw huge numbers of climate protesters take to the streets urging action on the Climate Emergency, organised by Extinction Rebellion. Wednesday Brekkie's Eiddwen hit the streets to gauge the mood || [35:40] Self Defence in the Climate Emergency, The Verdict: Anti-Adani coalmine activist Greg Rolles went to court on charges associated with a protest action he undertook last year that blocked an Adani mine train line. Greg's "climate necessity defence" was denied by the court and the guilty verdict landed him an approximately $9500 penalty. Greg comes on the show to share his thoughts || [49:28] Decriminalise Public Drunkenness Now: In Victoria, 25% of people jailed for the offence of Public Drunkenness are Aboriginal, despite Aboriginal people only being 0.8% of the community. To Apryl Watson, Wemba Wemba, Yorta Yorta, and Barapa Barapa woman, this law is manifestly racist. It was this law that led to the death in custody of her mother Aunty Tanya Day, a proud Yorta Yorta grandmother, who was taken in custody after she fell asleep aboard a VLine service in December 2017. Hear Apryl at a free forum next Wednesday the 5th at the Wheeler Centre, Little Lonsdale St, next to the State Library of Victoria in Melbourne. Bookings necessary || [1:01:14] Stuck in Limbo: Iranian refugee and community organiser Mozhgan Moarefizadeh spoke to Wednesday Breakfast earlier this year, telling us about the status of refugees and asylum seekers in Indonesia. She talks about the impact of Australian Government policy and her hopes that Australians will stand beside refugees wherever they are. You can support Mozhgan's organisation the Refugees & Asylum Seekers Information Centre at raicindonesia.org ||
