It’s always a privilege to have Dr. Jeffrey Rediger on the show, and this chat sure did not disappoint. Dr. Jeffrey’s a Harvard-trained physician, researcher, and the author of Cured, who has spent decades exploring the extraordinary link between trauma, spontaneous healing from so-called 'incurable' illnesses, and the mind-body connection. We talk about the power of the nervous system, the role of trauma in shaping who we are, and how healing isn’t just about fixing what's broken - it's about rediscovering the parts of ourselves we’ve tucked away. From navigating complex emotions like shame to understanding the layers of consent and the subtle ways we reenact unhealed wounds, this conversation is raw, real, and transformational. He's one of my favourite guests! Whether you're on a personal healing journey or fascinated by the intersection of science and spirituality, this episode will leave you inspired to dig deeper into your own story. Tonight, my special guest is Dr. Jeffrey Rediger who's here to discuss miraculous cases of people who healed themselves instantly from deadly diseases.  Get his book Cured on Amazon to find out how he believes everyone can do it.   When it comes to spontaneous healing, skepticism abounds. Doctors are taught that “miraculous” recoveries are flukes, and as a result they don't study those cases or take them into account when treating patients.   Enter Dr. Jeffrey Rediger, who has spent over 15 years studying spontaneous healing, pioneering the use of scientific tools to investigate recoveries from incurable illnesses. Dr. Rediger's research has taken him from America's top hospitals to healing centers around the world―and along the way he's uncovered insights into why some people beat the odds.   In Cured, Dr. Rediger digs down to the root causes of illness, showing how to create an environment that sets the stage for healing. He reveals the patterns behind healing and lays out the physical and mental principles associated with recovery: first, we need to physically heal our diet and our immune systems. Next, we need to mentally heal our stress response and our identities.   Through rigorous research, Dr. Rediger shows that much of our physical reality is created in our minds. Our perception changes our experience, even to the point of changing our physical bodies―and thus the healing of our identity may be our greatest tool to recovery.   Ultimately, miracles only contradict what we know of nature at this point in time. Cured leads the way in explaining the science behind these miracles, and provides a first-of-its-kind guidebook to both healing and preventing disease.Follow Our Other ShowsFollow UFO WitnessesFollow Crime Watch WeeklyFollow Paranormal FearsFollow Seven: Disturbing Chronicle StoriesJoin our Patreon for ad-free listening and more bonus content.Follow us on Instagram @mysteriousradioFollow us on TikTok mysteriousradioTikTok Follow us on Twitter @mysteriousradio Follow us on Pinterest pinterest.com/mysteriousradio Like us on Facebook Facebook.com/mysteriousradio

As we explore Optimal Immunity, we want to explore both the anecdotal and science behind these concepts, when we are able to do so. Today's topic is spontaneous healing, and we are going to look at how the body heals, what research has been done in this area, and what we may be able to apply or take away from this conversation to expand our thinking and impact our health. In This Session We Will Discuss: ·      Can we talk about how the body heals? ·      What are some examples you are familiar with which might be described as spontaneous healing by others? ·      What is Spontaneous Healing? ·      In looking at the science behind, Spontaneous Healing can you tell us about Dr. Jeffrey Rediger? ·      What are the 4 pillars of health according to him? ·      What are some of the findings or observations Dr. Rediger speaks about in that book, sharing over 20 years of research into spontaneous healing? ·      Can you talk about the book Radical Remission, which your friend Jenny recommended to you. What impact did that have on you? ·      The last thing I want to ask you is about temperature and healing. You mentioned earlier about heat in healing. What have you learned about that? “Love touches and heals something that medications can't touch”. In this snippet, physician, psychiatrist and Harvard Medical School professor Jeffrey Rediger explains how lifestyle and beliefs affect gene expression and suggests we can look beyond traditional medicine to the role of emotions, spirituality and relationships (i.e. LOVE) in our health. Dr Jeffrey shares the story of “Claire”, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and decided not to pursue conventional treatment. Instead, she focused on improving her quality of life by working through books about how to prepare for death, addressing relationships where she wanted to forgive people, and eliminating processed foods from her diet. Eventually, her cancer disappeared, and she was healed. What can we learn from these cases of spontaneous remission (aka an unexpected improvement or disappearance of a disease or medical condition without any known or intended medical treatment)? Listen to the full episode here(Ep.47 Miracles in medicine? We delve right into it with a discussion on love and trauma. We hear about his thoughts on the medical profession and the disconnect in modern medicine's view on mind and body, its lack of education on trauma and the absence of follow-through on the patient's emotional life. We learn about Gabor's early life in Hungary in the 1940s and 50s – a nation first over-run by fascism and then by the ideology of communism – and how that informed him throughout his life. We discuss “Big T” trauma and “Small T” trauma , trauma as the “puppet master” and how connection figures in as an antidote. We learn about his experience as a palliative care doctor and the “holy work” of being with people who are close to death. We weave through an intensely interesting discussion about diseases and their relationship to beliefs and about the sacred pain of being disillusioned. And we end with a beautiful chat about his thoughts on creativity, authenticity and “waking up” … and Vaslav Nijinsky. Dr Jeffrey Rediger is a Psychiatrist and Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. Jeffrey grew up in the Midwest in a very conservative Amish tradition and in a violent environment. As the oldest of his siblings he became rebellious and broke away from his environment, always bent on searching for answers of his existential questions. It brought him to study in a seminary (for his Masters of Divinity) and then to Medical School. These two types of training methods, while diametrically opposed - asking and exploring open-ended questions vs. working through the problem sets - brought him to a place of realization that has been informing him all his life. He brings us through a heart-wrenching story of a sudden and tragic death of a loved one, and the lessons it served for opening him up to the “invisible world”. We talk about how that invisible world is real, how the healing of false beliefs is key to a more expansive existence and how the body keeps score of it all. He shares his experience with the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California – the birthplace of the human potential movement. And he elaborates on his dying of the old ways of being that he was wedded to. To DONATE to the Behind Greatness podcast, please visit here: https://behindgreatness.org. What are the root causes of illness? Why do medicine and psychiatry only treat symptoms instead of causes? What can spontaneous remissions (i.e. people ‘miraculously' or unexpectedly healing from ‘incurable' diseases) teach us about the nature of healing and wellness? What are the four key ingredients to lasting health & wellbeing? What role does love play in healing? These are topics I explore with physician, psychiatrist and best-selling author Jeffrey Rediger. He is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and the Medical Director of McLean SE Adult Psychiatry and Community Affairs at McLean Hospital. A licensed physician and board-certified psychiatrist, he also has a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. His research with remarkable individuals who have recovered from incurable illnesses has been featured on the Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Oz Shows, among others. He has been nominated for the National Bravewell Leadership Award, and has received numerous awards related to leadership and patient care. And notably, he is the author of best-selling book, Cured: Strengthen Your Immune System and Heal Your Life, which is the theme of much of this podcast episode. We also discuss ways in which Jeffrey has had a ‘starting over' in life, including the loss of his fiancé Jane in a tragic car accident at which he was present, what he believes to be the root of suffering and pain in the world and what we can do about it. This conversation is hopeful, inspiring, informative and Jeffrey brings such heart, humanity and humility that I know you will all love. I am delighted to be back with another series of the podcast, and what a way to kick series 4 off with such a wonderful guest in Dr Jeffrey Rediger. Jeffrey is a MD, physician, best-selling author, and well known public speaker in the USA. He is an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School, and medical director at Mc Lean Hospital. His research with remarkable individuals who have recovered from incurable diseases, has been featured on Oprah Winfrey and Dr Oz TV shows, amongst others. He has received numerous awards in relation to his leadership and patient care. His best-selling book CURED, The remarkable science and stories of healing and spontaneous recovery, is now available in multiple languages and selling around the world. In this conversation I get into the detail with Jeffrey, and find out a little bit more about himself, the human being, and his own personal evolution as a medical doctor over the last thirty odd years.  It was wonderful to hear Jeffrey speak so openly and passionate about how he experienced so many patients who have been written off by everyone, including the medical community, fight back against all the odds to totally transform their health outcomes. This is a really important conversation for me to have, and I am so grateful for Jeffrey for being so open and candid with me in our exchange. In his new book and in this conversation, Jeffrey shares with me that he has researched 124 people who have all went onto experience spontaneous healing from terminal and incurable diseases. He talks about the 4 Pillars of health, The immune system, the nervous system, nutrition and the most interesting for me, healing your identity, and the role each of these pillars played in his patients recovery. My message to you is to please share this podcast with anyone you think needs a little bit of hope and a little bit of light brought back into their life.   Maybe its yourself, or you know someone else who is not feeling great, maybe they've just had that dreadful diagnosis, or maybe they've simply written themselves off in life. The bottom line is that it's never too late guys.  I am telling you form personal experience, YOU can HEAL, YOU can RECOVER.  As I said in this conversation, we need to understand the power we all hold individually over our own health outcomes.  Your doctor's not going to fix you, the drugs are not going to fix you, you have to figure out how to fix yourself. This starts with an honest conversation with yourself, a body of work,  and a plan of how you are going to make the changes you need to make to get your health back. I would encourage you to read Jeffrey's book, and to go on your own journey of healing and recovery.  I am yet to meet anyone who doesn't want to feel that little bit better, move easier, and have more energy and fulfilment in life. What my own journey has taught me is that with a little bit of belief, followed by alot of work, absolutely everything is possible. I hope you get some value from this one, and if you have a moment, please leave me a review, and or share this one with a friend. Dr Jeff Rediger is a revolutionary intellectual in the field of spontaneous healing from incurable diseases. He has written the best selling book called CURED-Strengthen Your Immune System and Heal Your Life. His book describes: "When it comes to disease, who beats the odds -- and why? When it comes to spontaneous healing, skepticism abounds. Doctors are taught that "miraculous" recoveries are flukes, and as a result they don't study those cases or take them into account when treating patients.Enter Dr. Jeffrey Rediger, who has spent over 15 years studying spontaneous healing, pioneering the use of scientific tools to investigate recoveries from incurable illnesses. Dr. Rediger's research has taken him from America's top hospitals to healing centers around the world--and along the way he's uncovered insights into why some people beat the odds.In Cured, Dr. Rediger digs down to the root causes of illness, showing how to create an environment that sets the stage for healing. He reveals the patterns behind healing and lays out the physical and mental principles associated with recovery: first, we need to physically heal our diet and our immune systems. Next, we need to mentally heal our stress response and our identities.Through rigorous research, Dr. Rediger shows that much of our physical reality is created in our minds. Our perception changes our experience, even to the point of changing our physical bodies--and thus the healing of our identity may be our greatest tool to recovery.Ultimately, miracles only contradict what we know of nature at this point in time. Cured  leads the way in explaining the science behind these miracles, and provides a first-of-its-kind guidebook to both healing and preventing disease."Learn About Dr Jeff Rediger at his websitehttps://drjeffreyrediger.com/about/Jeffrey Rediger, MD, MDiv, is a physician, best-selling author, and popular speaker. Jeffrey Rediger, MD. Cured: Strengthen Your Immune System and Heal Your Life. Flatiron, 2020. You might also find my "Mysteries of Healing: Dialogues with Doctors and Scientists" useful and interesting. Healing: *Top influence is to change identity—see self in a new way, figure-ground shift, change your default mode network (DMN). It's loosely connected regions of the brain that light up together to form the neurobiological basis of self—who you are. How to change it? Change your routine, travel, meditate, yoga, education, new experience. P. 293 (Rediger doesn't mention it but different alters have very different medical issues in people with Dissasociative Identity Disorder.) *Use your mind to reduce stress: Strengthen the immune system by reacting positively to stress, e.g., ask what's the lesson or challenge? Chronic stress can alter the genes of the immune cells, flood the body with cortisol and other stress hormones. This can lead to chronic inflammation (the immune system in overdrive) which harms the immune system and can lead to disease. P. 126, 128. Depression also weakens the immune system. Up to 80% of visits to primary care doctors are related to stress. (You can test C-reactive protein as a marker for inflammation.) Calm the vegus nerve as with Herbert Benson's relaxation technique (drawing from Transcendental Mediation, relax you muscles, breathe slowly, while focusing n a mantra for ten to 20 minutes daily) and social connection. Avoid the epidemic of loneliness and enjoy small moments of loving connection that activate oxytocin anti-stress tonic. P. 193. The higher you heart rate variability (HRV—see HeartMath) the more engaged the vagus nerve and the more active the parasympathetic system (which calms and heals). P. 196 The vagus nerve connects the three brains—head, heart, and gut. The goal is to lengthen telomeres on chromosomes, which are linked to longevity. The faster they wear down, the faster we age. P. 160 Placebo works even when we know it's a sugar pill because we feel cared for. P. 251 Quantum physics' double-slit experiment shows that just observing changes a particle to a wave. (Love and prayer are powerful according to healer Dr. Nemeh in Ohio.) Our bodies ae energy, “frozen light,” as physicist David Bohm said. *For those with ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences--childhood traumas, abuse, neglect), clear them because they can rewrite your DNA to be more susceptible to disease, which can be passed on to your children. P. 274. (The ACE test is on https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2015/03/02/387007941/take-the-ace-quiz-and-learn-what-it-does-and-doesnt-mean) 90% of chronic illness is environmental not genetic (psychoneuroimmunology and epigenetics). P. 38. * Eat nutrient-rich natural foods and avoid processed foods and sugar as its sharp-edged crystals tear the walls of arteries and capillaries where plaque is more likely to build up in the repair sites, narrowing the blood vessels. Sugar also increases inflammation, but it's addictive because it stimulates dopamine. Avoid a lot of meat and emulsifiers (as in ice cream and mayonnaise)—the later disrupt the microbiome and triggers chronic inflammation. The health of the microbiome is related to cancer and other diseases. A single round of antibiotics can impact the gut bacteria for up to a year. P. 56 For every human cell in our bodies we have 100 bacterial cells. Professor Michael Pollan recommends eating mostly plants. *People with spontaneous remission were highly involved in yoga, Rolfing, diet, journaling, mental imaging, meditation, relaxation, intentional gratitude, or what ever worked for them. P. 338 Rediger's Recommended books IONS Spontaneous Remission: An Annotated Bibliography. 1993. 3,500 references in 800 journals. Kelly Turner. Radical Remission (2014), Lissa Rankin. “If you don't know how to say no, your body will eventually say no for you. I think there is so much depth to that. Mm-hmm and that's why it's so important that we help people begin asking. Is there a message that my body is trying to give me about this illness many times, uh, there's different ways to language this for different situations, but, um, is there a way in which a person is spending so much time, taking care of others or responding to the perceived needs of others instead of taking up space in the world, doing the things that put a light in your own eyes, the things that create authentic wellbeing, it took me years to begin understanding the deeper, sense of what's true here. But I think the truth is, sometimes the illness is really a message that this inauthentic self that we have become that needs to die. And if we can let that death occur, which can be messy and painful and scary, but if we can let that occur and let a more authentic version of who we really are be born well, I'll tell you sometimes that's astonishing, sometimes what then becomes possible”, says Dr. Jeff Rediger, physician, psychiatrist, author and speaker who joins us today to discuss his best-selling book, Cured: The Life-Changing Science of Spontaneous Healing. Dr. Rediger, the medical director of McLean and an assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, has spent over 15 years studying spontaneous healing, exploring and analyzing unexplained, ‘miraculous' recoveries in cases conventional medicine dismissed as hopeless. A leading voice challenging current healthcare systems and treatment models, in Cured, Dr. Rediger explains the science behind these miracles—digging into the root causes of illness and revealing how to create an environment that sets the stage for healing that beats the odds.   There is a part of us that knows how to heal, Dr. Rediger tells us, pushing us to explore how we can tap into the curative, regenerative potential of our own bodies rather than engaging in the endless search for external healing solutions. Our minds exert deep control over our physical reality, his research shows, making mental healing as important as, and a tool for, physical healing. Dr. Rediger's work creates a new paradigm of healing from physical illness - for those with life-altering diagnoses, and for those of us who simply want to live healthier lives.  EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS: The miracle of homeostasis… Mining spontaneous recovery for commonalities… Is there a message my body is sending me?... Welcome to part of my conversation with Dr. Lissa Rankin, a board certified Ob/Gyn who is now focusing most of her energy on healing work and just recently completed work on her newest book Sacred medicine (it can be pre-ordered on https://www.amazon.com/dp/B096NHG3M8/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1). In the part two of our conversation, we talk about: - cancer (and any chronic ailment) can be a a result of chronic overdoing/not caring for ourselves properly (and Dr. Rankin is careful to point out that she understands that it does not pertain to all cancer) 2:09 - 7:05 Sacred Medicine is a sequel to Mind over Medicine (2013, 2020). She has researched the stories of miraculous recovery/cure when we cannot clearly put a finger on it. Dr. Jeffrey Rediger chronicled cca 20 cases of miraculous recoveries in his book CURED - Lissa's research led her to believe healing past traumas is incredibly important but there is NO ONE way to do it. The right "tool" or method is different for everyone, it is a matter of trial and error, doing the NEXT BEST STEP. 12:49 leaning into our 4 intelligences (mental, spiritual, emotional and somatic) will help us discover this next best step. 14:00 we discuss polyvagal theory (existence of sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems where the latter is divided into the ventral vagal system (the relaxation healing response) and dorsal vagal system the state of extreme threat). For some people with serious early trauma, only gentle somatic work can work. For others, IFS (internal family system) is the best next step/tool. 21:55 listen to what she thinks about what is the best place to start/how to choose what works for each of us :-) Connect with Lissa at:face book: LIssa Rankin LissaRankin.com HealAtLast.org

Dr. Jeffrey Rediger is a Harvard professor, medical doctor, psychiatrist, and the author of “Cured: The Life-Changing Science of Spontaneous Healing.” His pioneering work studying recovery from terminal illness has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Dr. Oz Show.  In this episode, he lays out his pillars of wellness and invites us to get to grips with just how much control we have over our total wellbeing. He wants to bring about a new era in health and wellness. With two decades of research behind him, it's about time people start to listen! First, we chat about the unbelievable power of the placebo effect. Sure, it's all in the mind by definition, but what if we were able to harness it as a form of treatment? Some of the research Jeffrey talks about in this field is downright incredible. Then, we move into a stark conversation on nutrition. Jeff believes that all illness – even mental – can be traced to inflammation caused by what we put into our bodies. Next, we discuss how we can keep our immune systems working at their very best. With a global pandemic still ongoing, there's never been a more important time to stop and take stock of our own stress levels. Are we stuck in a permanent fight-or-flight loop? Jeff teaches us that such a state is just about the worst thing we could do for our body's immune system. So, what steps can we take to keep ourselves ready to fend off illness or disease?   It's a truly fascinating conversation that'll reshape how you (and hopefully the rest of the world) thinks about treating health. It's time to stop looking for and blaming external factors and unlock our own wellness from within! I am so honored to welcome today's guest, Dr. Jeffery Rediger. Dr.Rediger, is medical director and an assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He has a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary and publishes in the fields of medicine, psychiatry and spirituality. His work has been featured on the Oprah, Mind Body Green, Goop and Dr. Oz shows, among others. He is the renowned author of “Cured,” which is by far and wide one of the most life changing books I've ever read. What makes this interview so special is that his work has personally touched my life as I discovered the book “Cured” during a pivotal time on my healing journey as I was being diagnosed with an Inflammatory Bowel Disease called Chron's disease. Chron's Disease is said to be an incurable, lifelong illness. Today, we'll be journeying more into what it looks like according to science to reverse the incurable as well as unlocking the source code to spontaneous healing, strengthening your immune system and living a “Cured” lifestyle. I promise you, this is going to be an extremely life-changing, knowledge packed and informative interview, so let's dive in! "The very subject (of his book )is taboo in mainstream medicine, Jeffrey Rediger writes in the introduction to his new book, "Cured" Faced with recoveries they can neither explain nor replicate, doctors tend to dismiss such cases as flukes, one-offs. This compelling book is the result of 17 years spent tracking these people down and verifying their stories."- Washington Post https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/miracle-cures-that-hold-lessons-for-western-medicine/2020/03/05/93056b22-49f4-11ea-bdbf-1dfb23249293_story.html Buy his life-changing book here :https://www.amazon.com/dp/1250193192?tag=onamzallgoodj-20&linkCode=ic5&ascsubtag=amzn1.infl.us.product&creativeASIN=1250193192&ref=exp_brittanybacinski_dp_vv_d ***I don't know about you, but a huge part of healing my body started with lowering my overall inflammation in my body, not only with diet but by taking supplements that are scientifically proven to actually have that effect on our bodies. After being diagnosed with Chron's Disease, I dove headfirst into research that supported healing. In that, I found taking CBG oil to be a huge part of my road to remission. CBG oil is known as the "stem cell" of all cannabinoids, with less than 1% of CBG naturally occurring in cannabis plants. This formula is targeted towards your gut and skin health. This week, in the launch of Season 3. I'm talking to Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor who was introduced to me by last season's guest, Dr. Jeffrey Rediger.   I loved this episode. It reminded me how much control we have over our lives - that we have agency to experience life how we want it and that by understanding how our brain works we can be even more empowered.   It reminded me of this quote from Marcus Aurelius  - you have power over your mind, not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength. It feels even more relevant in this time that we're living in.  Dr. Taylor is a Harvard trained and published neuroanatomist. Her area of specialty was understanding how our brain creates our perception of reality by studying the differences between the postmortem brains of human individuals who were classified as either neuro-typical, with those diagnosed with severe mental illness. Ironically, in 1996 Dr. Taylor experienced a severe hemorrhage in the left hemisphere of her brain causing her to lose the ability to walk, talk, read, write, or recall any of her life. Her 2008 memoir, My Stroke of Insight, documented her experience with stroke and eight-year recovery and it spent 63 weeks on the New York Times nonfiction bestseller list.  She is an expert, both personally and professionally, about the neuroplasticity of our brain and our ability to not only recover from trauma, but about how we have the power to choose who and how we want to be in the world.   In 2008 Dr. Taylor gave the first TED talk that ever went viral on the Internet, which now has well over 27 million views. Also in 2008, Dr. Taylor was chosen as one of TIME Magazine's “100 Most Influential People in the World” and was the premiere guest on Oprah Winfrey's “Soul Series” web-cast. Her new book WHOLE BRAIN LIVING: The Anatomy of Choice and the Four Characters That Drive Our Life blends neuroanatomy with psychology and teaches us how we can short-circuit our emotional reactivity and find our way to deep inner peace. Website: drjilltaylor.com. We spend about half our conversation talking about her new book, the four characters, and how understanding each of our four characters can help us achieve inner peace, satisfaction in life, and even help us improve our relationships.    We also talk about... How the brain is structured & how it impacts our thoughts, feelings and actions and what makes us each different  How our brains develop and what makes those with mental illness different How she recovered and healed from her stroke She takes me through an exercise of recognizing jealousy that helped me feel and has helped me feel empowered since  She also told me chocolate was a vegetable so we're best friends    Dr. Taylor's energy is effervescent and vibrant. She is an inspiration and a model of what living well means.    As you listen to this conversation, try to apply the concepts and strategies to your own life. Is the an opportunity to create more spaciousness in your life so that you can be an observer allowing all parts of your brain work in harmony so that you can live with more meaning.   LINKS:  Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor Whole Brain Living Book TED Talk   Follow me on Instagram

Decolonizing Cancer: In Conversation with Melissa Alvarado Sierra

This week we talk with author Melissa Alvarado Sierra about personal, intergenerational, and communal trauma. Melissa paints a vivid analogy between herself and her homeland, Puerto Rico. Just as cancer uncovered her personal trauma, hurricanes in Puerto Rico have exposed millions of pounds of war chemicals dropped by the U.S. Navy. Melissa turns towards her cancer, towards the pollution in her homeland with optimism and a belief that healing is always possible. Melissa's writing has been published or is forthcoming in The New York Times, ZORA, Catapult, The Caribbean Writer, and The Puerto Rico Review. Her newest book La Narrativa Activista de Rosario Ferré: Feminismo e Identidad is a critical reading of the work of poet/essayist Rosario Ferré. Ferré suggests that women have suffered the same fate as Puerto Rico itself: colonized, mistreated, and forgotten. Through her writing, Melissa is healing this violent past: de-colonizing, caring for, and remembering the power of Caribbean women. Dr. Jeffrey Rediger is a Harvard trained psychiatrist with a Masters in Divinity from Princeton. Fascinated by the phenomenon of spontaneous healing, he has been studying radical remissions of many different types of supposedly incurable diseases through the lens of science and skepticism for 20 years. The result of his work is documented in his book, Cured, the Science of Spontaneous Healing.  Kelly and Dr. Rediger talk about the limits of the medical establishment, the shortcomings of medical education, the hope of possibility, and how it is imperative for the false self to die in order for one to transform the incurable.  A passionate, intelligent, and loving human, Dr. Rediger shares his own gradual awakening from the indoctrination of Western Medicine to not only improve his own health, but to align with his purpose of creating a new paradigm in health and medicine for future generations. His book CURED is available anywhere books are sold. Produced by Dear Media

(copy the link to share with your friends and family via text) When it comes to spontaneous healing, skepticism abounds. Cured leads the way in explaining the science behind these miracles, and provides a first-of-its-kind guidebook to both healing and preventing disease. Learn more about your ad choices. Today's guest is Dr Jeffrey Rediger, a distinguished medical doctor who says there is more to healing than what text books and university lecturers might suggest. His research with remarkable individuals who have recovered from illnesses considered to be incurable has led him to believe that humans have an innate ability to heal themselves. By looking at our lives introspectively, living in abundance, nourishing meaningful relationships and reframing life's adversities, we are manifesting our power to heal.In this episode, we look at Jeffrey's rich and sometimes turbulent life, and how his experiences have led him to become the doctor he is today. Currently serving on the faculty of Harvard Medical School, Jeffrey's professional and personal life is a tapestry of experiences, good and bad. To complement his qualifications in medicine, he also holds a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. As a child, he grew up in a household heavily influenced by Amish ideals, and his breakaway from this unique way of living led him to spiritual awakening – a seed which would slowly germinate in his soul. You'll also hear the many anecdotes where Jeffrey was touched and sometimes shocked by the healing experiences of his patients. Throughout our insightful conversation, Jeffrey shares many nuggets of wisdom and prescribes a mindset where he challenges all humans to see themselves as beings with infinite potential. “I think spontaneous healing is a lot more common than we realize. I've asked a room of doctors before, 'How many of you have seen a case of unexplained recovery that you didn't think was possible and it happened?' Well, lots of doctors raise their hands. And I asked how many had reported it.  No one had reported it.  And I was loathe to report things myself, because, first of all, how are you going to get it published if you do all that work, and if you do get it published how are your colleagues going to view it?” - Jeffrey Rediger, MD, MDiv Jeffrey Rediger, MD, MDiv,  has spent over 15 years studying spontaneous healing and pioneering the use of scientific tools to investigate recoveries from incurable illnesses.
