A vencedoa do primeiro Festival da Eurovisão morreu faz hoje 5 anos.
“Non ho l'Età”, Gigliola Cinquetti: “Puppet on a String”, Sandie Show; “Waterloo”, Abba; “Making your mind up”, Bucks Fizz; “J'aime la vie”, Sandra Kim; “Hold me now”, Jonny Logan; “Ne partez pas sans moi”, Celine Dion; “Insieme”, Toto Cutugno; “Love shine a light”, Katrina and The Waves; “Fly on the wings of love”, Brøthers Olsen; “My number one”, Helena Paparizou; “Fairytale” Alexander Rybak; “Rise like a Phoenix”, Conchita Wurst; “Amar pelos dois”, Salvador Sovral; “Zitti e buoni”, Maneskin. Buon ascolto da Lorella Turchetto Michieli. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/radio-nostra/support

But there are more. In fact, the guest on this week's edition of Radio International - The Ultimate Eurovision Experience represented his native Austria twice. In 1989, Thomas Forstner performed "Nur ein Lied" ("Only A Song") in Lausanne,Switzerland giving Austria the fifth place — their highest position since their last victory in 1966 and until Austria's victory in 2014 with Conchita Wurst and "Rise like a Phoenix". Thomas Forstner was selected to represent Austria again at the Eurovision Song Contest 1991 in Rome, Italy with "Venedig im Regen" ("Venice in Rain") reaching Number 22. Since his Eurovision participation he released some singles and the latest single released was in May 2021 entitled "Summer Dream" which is right on time for the Summer of 2021. The Interview Team of Radio International is looking forward to meet Thomas Forstner on the show this week to get to know him better and listen to the stories from his participation at the Eurovision Song Contest and his career beyond. Spectacle, camp and glamour were NOT on the agenda in Lugano, Switzerland on 24th May, 1956: the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest was broadcast mostly on the radio, and featured a whistling duo as its interval act. Who had to perform twice.Voting controversy, however, was enshrined in the institution right from the outset - as Judges were permitted to award points to their own nations, and vote in absentia. In this episode, Rebecca, Olly and Arion reveal which countries have most consistently scored the famous ‘nul points'; consider why the future of the contest seems to lie Eastwards, and revisit Israel's entry from 1999, ‘Happy Birthday'...Further Reading:• Lys Assia wins the first Eurovision for Switzerland: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyqIPvOkiRk• Facts and Figures from the 1956 contest at the official Eurovision website:https://eurovision.tv/event/lugano-1956• Full list of 1956 voting and points from Eurovisionworld:https://eurovisionworld.com/eurovision/1956For bonus material and to support the show, visit Patreon.com/RetrospectorsWe'll be back tomorrow! Today's Person of Interest is Lys Assia, who sang the winning song in the first Eurovision Song Contest. Our Feature of the Day is some more recollections from a conversation with the late Tommy Byrne, on hors-drawn hearses and making ice-slides on the bridge. We also nod to the stories of the day in our local and national online news outlets. Produced by Brian Byrne.
In this week's Think About Eurovision we head for a "night out at the symphony" in Hilversum, Netherlands, Kim finds out that Volare (Nel Blu, Dipinto Di Blu) is a Eurovision song, we have a little impromptu singalong and Kris makes a romantic song sound creepy. Even by the 1950s 78s were beginning see their dominance fade in the record market. Vinyl 33s and 45s was here. This though is a celebration of 50s shellac. To start we have the other side of the cracked Hot Lips Page, Randy Hall record from FS54, I tin whistle you. Earl Grant with Hunky dunky doo. Pianist, organist and singer. Sadly he died young at 39 in 1970. Lys Assia, Swiss winner of Euro vision in 1956, sings O Mein Papa. Also Eddy Arnold, Alma Cogan, Charlie Gracie, Fat Domino, Lonnie Donegan and Winifred Atwell. Delighted to have Rose Murphy back, the Chee, Chee Girl. Surely one of the most unusually voices of the 50s. Rose Brennan is back too, singing, as she did for many years, with Joe Loss. I think female singers and artist were really came to the fore in the 50s. Hungarian born Eve Boswell gives us, Where you are. Love the fact that she started in the entertainment world in a family juggling act. Jill Day was hugely popular in this decade with her own TV show. She sings: Give her my love when you see her. Jim Dale, Actor, song writer, director, composer and star of a few Carry on films gives us a perfect piece of 50s pop in Be my girl. In amongst it all is Jack Scott, Canada's greatest Rock and Roll artist. Two belter from him, Leroy and My True Love. Stay safe
