Tune in for an episode of Recording Studio Rockstars with host Lij Shaw, featuring the talented musician and recording arts student, Abbie Griffin. Abbie shares her personal journey—from falling in love with music inspired by artists like Joni Mitchell and Taylor Swift, to navigating the challenges of the industry. She opens up about her songwriting process, the influence of her family and life experiences, and how technology is transforming the way we create music. Most importantly, Abbie emphasizes the importance of staying true to yourself and embracing your individuality. Don't miss her latest track, "Live from Onie's House," available on Spotify. Join us as we chat about music and creativity on this episode of Recording Studio Rockstars. Get access to FREE mixing mini-course: https://MixMasterBundle.com My guest today is Abbie Griffin, an engineer, singer, guitarist, and bassist, and a student of Recording Arts and Production at Montclair State University in NJ, where she studies audio engineering, post-production, and live event audio. At just 22 years old, she's already been performing for nearly two decades. She loves making music and recently released her first record, Live from Onie's House, inspired by Joni Mitchell. To quote her greatest inspiration—her musical grandmother—Abbie is “the saddest yet happiest songbird you'll ever meet, with that smile.” I met Abbie at NAMM when she came to a meetup for Recording Studio Rockstars. The first thing she said to me was that she was a fan of the podcast—and so was her dad! It's so cool to hear how the podcast is reaching a younger audience and inspiring those just starting out in their music and audio careers. Today, we're going to find out what it's like to be a young student of recording aspiring to be a musician and songwriter. We'll talk about what Abbie's learning in school, what she thought she needed to learn, and what music really means to her. She shares her thoughts on the rapid changes in music technology with AI, how the definition of a producer is evolving for the next generation, and where she sees the future of music heading. We'll also dive into her love for vintage gear, DIY instruments, and how strength training plays a surprising role in her creative process. And—one of the coolest parts—Abbie recently had the chance to interview Pat Metheny, one of her musical heroes. Last week, we released a documentary on the 72 hours we spent with Rep. Jake Auchincloss (D-MA).Immediately, questions started coming in about what happened behind the scenes — what you didn't see on camera, how the shoot came together, and what our impressions were about different elements of what we saw. We wanted to respond to those questions, and also follow up on the story since there was so much that we weren't able to fit in the video. You have heard of Lyme disease but have you heard of Alpha Gal Syndrome? It is another condition caused by a tick bite but the symptoms are arguably much worse - becoming allergic to red meat! Affecting over 450,000 Americans, not being able to eat red meat can cause a cascade of downstream effects due to nutrient deficiency. In this episode Dette Avalon, author of The Ultimate Guide to Alpha Gal Syndrome, explains what it is and the devastation it causes. While there is no one magic bullet for it that we know of yet, Dr Stephanie Seneff PhD joins us to make the link between Alpha Gal and glyphosate toxicity. We talk about mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) and its connection to alpha gal and glyphosate, the importance of a healthy microbiome, the impact of "cross reactive proteins", the benefits of sauerkraut, the mitochondria and deuterium link, the importance of vitamin D and cholesterol, and other solutions that they've found. I have used the word “impressive” more times than I could count when conversing with today's guest, whose passion is to reconnect people to the wisdom of ancestral eating. For him, this work is deeply personal—it's not just about creating a product, but about addressing the nutritional deficiencies that are at the root of so many modern health challenges. James Barry is on a mission to make organ meats, which are some of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet, accessible and enjoyable for everyone. He wants to break down the barriers of stigma and convenience that often keep people from embracing these powerful foods. He believes that merging traditional wisdom with modern convenience is the key to true wellness. Food is medicine, and by embracing nutrient-rich, whole foods, we can heal not just our bodies but also our connection to the planet and each other. His hope is to inspire listeners to see that small, intentional changes can have a profound impact on their health and vitality. It's about making health accessible, sustainable, and, most importantly, enjoyable. James Barry's 20 years in the culinary field started as a private chef cooking for celebrities such as Tom Cruise, George Clooney, Gerard Butler, Mariska Hargitay (of Law & Order:SVI fame), Barbra Streisand, and John Cusack. James is CEO & Founder of the organ-based, superfood seasoning, Pluck. It's the first of its kind and an amazingly easy and delicious way for people to get organ meats into their diet. James is also a published cookbook author having co-authored the recipes in Margaret Floyd's book Eat Naked and Dr. Alejandro Junger's book, Clean 7. Some of the children have certificates that allow them to bypass the screening. Some of the parents are upset about this process commenting that this is not required by the state and report this could not be a problem for their children. One by one the children have their scalps examined and 2 of the children are asked to step to the side. The parents of these two children are contacted and told that they must address the identified concern before they can attend the camp. They are treated with a topical therapy on their hair with repeat in 1 week. The upset parents have several questions that hopefully our listeners can address. -what is this all about? -is anyone suggesting this is a hygiene issue? -what is the most sensitive way to look for this problem? -how do we know it is cured? -feel free to talk about the life cycle Become a patron of TWiP Send your questions and comments to twip@microbe.tv Music by Ronald Jenkees

On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed reports that the Trump administration is working on a deal with Intel that would grant the U.S. government a 10% stake in the computer technology company. The possible agreement, first reported on August 14, may involveconverting roughly $10.86 billion in federal grants issued to Intel during the Biden administration into equity in the company, though the exact mechanism for doing so is unclear.
