Welkom bij Gamekings Daily. De gaming vodcast waarin twee hosts van Gamekings praten over de laatste ontwikkelingen in de wereld die videogames heet. Vandaag is het maandag. Het is Daan die aanschuift om met JJ de ontwikkelingen tijdens het afgelopen weekend te bespreken. De heren gaan het onder meer hebben over de vraag of het nog wel zin heeft om games van 300 miljoen dollar te maken, zoals Wolverine? De best scorende games de laatste tijd kosten namelijk rond de 50 miljoen. En we hebben de baas van Twitch, die roept dat het nieuwe GTA Online volgend jaar gaat uitkomen. Geloven we dat? Het antwoord op deze vragen krijg je in de Gamekings Daily van maandag 21 september 2026. Wat voor GTA Online gaan we in 2027 krijgen? Een ander onderwerp dat behandeld wordt, is de saga rond Kojima en PlayStation. Er gaan nu meerdere verhalen rond over wat er allemaal gebeurd is, waardoor niemand het meer zeker weet. Kojima doorbrak het algemene weekend het stilzwijgen en zijn woorden en het statement van Kojima Productions maakten het verhaal er alleen maar meer bizar door. In the wee hours of the night, an absolute stunner landed. Prolific and beloved game director, Hideo Kojima, has killed off his partnership with PlayStation for his upcoming action-espionage title, PHYSINT, and signed on with Xbox. According to the man himself, PlayStation was ready to cancel his game this June! After three months of searching, he found his partner in XBOX. It's a partnership where Kojima claims that they "share a common vision for the future" which says more than just about anything else within this next. Those who recall the PHYSINT announcement in 2024 will also remember that this was TV/movie deal as well. According to the XBOX Wire, they've got that too! So, what gives? Is this just a money play? The latter half of the gaming year begins in earnest with Tokyo Game Show on the horizon. We've already been treated to showcases from two of the big three console makers, as both Sony and Nintendo have broadcast a State of Play and two Directs, one in celebration of the Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary and a regular Nintendo Direct. Sean and Marc discuss the major highlights from each, what they are most looking forward to, and whether Nintendo is losing anything by releasing the Ocarina of Time Remake in November. Sean's also played the entire Final Fantasy Resonance Chapter 1 Demo that released on September 3, and he has thoughts on how it delivers on everything we've been missing from turn-based FF's and sets up an intriguing tale as well.
