THE STORY OF JOSEPH - lesson 17 ALL ISRAEL BEFORE JOSEPH 144,000 BEFORE JESUS Joseph - the prototype of Jesus   This can't be!  No way!  Is there a possible connection in the saga of Joseph where his father Jacob comes to Egypt - all Israel before Joseph - and the events in Revelation 7?  Could be?  Just as "all" Israel (Jacob's name) and his entire family is delivered from the terrible 7 years of famine) so too will ALL Israel be delivered and saved in the days of the return of Messiah.  The saga of Joseph is so timely and has so much for us today in the 21st century. In this podcast, as in part 1, I provide four valuable links to study the amazing connections between Joseph and Jesus. The first is a short video that is a great introduction to this topic.  Here's the link ...  - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQKadh0fVCo The second resource is an article at the excellent website "Hebrew4Christians."  The article goes deeper into the connections between Joseph and Jesus providing over 60 indisputable connections solidly based upon scripture and not opinion or speculation.  Here's link to the article ...    https://hebrew4christians.com/Articles/Mashiach_ben_Yosef/mashiach_ben_yosef.html A third resource you must have access to is a scholarly paper written by my graduate studies advisor, Dr. Ron Mosely.   In his paper Dr. Mosely discusses Joseph as a prototype of the the suffering Messiah just like David is a prototype of the conquering Messiah - https://www.academia.edu/3796976/Twice_Rejected_Mashiach_Ben_Joseph The final link is to Netivyah (The Way of the Lord) ministries in Jerusalem.  This is a Messianic Jewish ministry founded by Joseph Shulam, an amazing Jewish scholar who helps us reconnect to our Jewish roots of our faith.  This link is to a book written by one of their resident scholars, Elhanan ben Avraham, "Moshiach ben Yosef (Messiah the Son Of Joseph)".  I highly recommend you get this book and all the books you can buy from this ministry - https://netivyah.org/product/mashiach-ben-yoseph/ Another thing we studied in part 1 and it carries over into this podcast is what is a disciple?  A disciple in Jesus' day is one who follows a rabbi and wants more than anything else to be just like the rabbi; a disciple wants to live a life so that they are a reflection of their rabbi.  Here's the links I promised that are the vidcasts (videos) I did on the topic of Disciples and Apostles.  The video is in two parts. Part1 - Disciples and Apostles - https://lightofmenorah.podbean./e/truth-nugget-28-lesson-2-part-1-disciples-and-apostles/ Part2 - Disciples and Apostles - https://lightofmenorah.podbean.com/e/truth-nugget-28-lesson-2-part-2-disciples-and-apostles/ Here's a link to an excellent article on what a disciple was in the 1st century by Ray Vander Laan - https://www.thattheworldmayknow.com/rabbi-and-talmidim Ray has also done audio sessions on the concept of disciples of a rabbi in Jesus' day.  I will link you to the audio library and it is easy to slide down to the studies regarding disciples.  Check out the "Age of a Disciple" and the sessions entitled "Disciples Parts 1, 2, and 3" and the audio sessions "The Dust of the Rabbi." Here's the link - https://www.thattheworldmayknow.com/category/Audio In this podcast I again mention that Bible study is a requirement for us as true followers of Jesus.  Matter of fact there is a renowned Messianic Gentile scholar, Dwight Pryor, who suggests that a church must provide Bible study and classes in order to obey Jesus to make disciples. As one studies what it really means to be a disciple of our rabbi, our Lord and Savior, our Yeshua, we find that as our "rabbi" was sent to teach so too His disciples are called to be sent by Him to teach.  But, to teach means we need to learn and thus we need to do Bible study.  That's for all believers in the church and just a select few. What is interesting, for those of us focused on the Jewish roots of our faith and our Hebrew heritage, is that the study of the Bible in Jesus' day was considered the highest form of worship!  Not prayer.  Not speaking in tongues.  Not singing and music.  No.  None of these.  The study of God's word by the young and the old in Jesus' day was considered at the top of the list for true followers of the Lord.  Below are two links to two excellent articles discussing this.  The first is written by Dwight Pryor - a highly credible and well known Gentile Messianic Christian Bible scholar and the second is written by Professor WA Liebenberg, a Messianic Jewish scholar at the Hebraic Roots Teaching Institute in Pretoria South Africa.  These are a must read to understand that to be true disciples of Adonai yeshua requires Bible study and not just Bible reading.  Check them out at these links ... Dwight Pryor's article - https://www.scribd.com/document/52577969/The-Highest-Form-of-Worship WA Liebenberg's article - https://se1490ea64a00a596.jimcontent.com/download/version/1685034709/module/12434580160/name/The%20Highest%20Form%20of%20Worship%20Is%20Studying%20The%20Word.pdf As we studied we encountered the contradiction between Gen. 46:27 where it says 70 came to Egypt and in Acts 7:14 it says 75.  I mentioned I would provide you with the text of the Septuagint for Genesis 46 to show it was changed!  The rabbis changed it.  Shown below is Genesis 46 of the Septuagint. Finally, I mentioned the links to study THE JEWISH RAPTURE.  These are videos of my personal study of the rapture and how I found it to be already in the Hebrew Scriptures, the Old Testament.  It is a totally Jewish concept and since we are "grafted in" as joint heirs with Israel it includes all of us as disciples of Adonai Yeshua.  Here's the link to the videos. THE STORY OF JOSEPH - lesson 16 JOSEPH WAS SENT AND JESUS AND NOW US Joseph - the prototype of Jesus   This lesson once again delves into the indisputable fact that God set it up that Joseph of the "many colored coat" would be a paradigm, a model, a prototype of Jesus.  What is fascinating is that this fact, supported again and again by scripture, would not have been understood until after Jesus was resurrected and had ascended to the Father.  To see these connections between Joseph and Jesus, Jesus' life, actions, miracles, preaching, death, resurrection, and ascension need to be clearly understood first.  It's as if the Lord did this for us today and for all Jewish people as well.  It is as if the Lord set this up so that religious Jews non-Christians would see these connections that are God designed and inspired to help them see Jesus as the Messiah and the coming one who will sit on David's throne and bring "taykkoon olam" (תִּיקּוּן עוֹלָם - repairing the world).   So, one event in the saga of Joseph was when Joseph hid his silver cup in the sack of Benjamin.  Joseph did this on purpose.  He seems to be testing his brothers to see if they were truly repentant and had changed.  So, in the saga of Joseph we find this famous event of the cup.  Is this perhaps also a paradigm of Jesus and events in Jesus' life?  Let's study and see what might be possible. In this podcast I again mentioned I'd provide four valuable links to study the amazing connections between Joseph and Jesus. I highly recommend you get this book and all the books you can buy from this ministry - https://netivyah.org/product/mashiach-ben-yoseph/ Another thing discussed is what is a disciple?  A disciple in Jesus' day is one who follows a rabbi and wants more than anything else to be just like the rabbi; a disciple wants to live a life so that they are a reflection of their rabbi.  Here's the links I promised that are the vidcasts (videos) I did on the topic of Disciples and Apostles.  The video is in two parts. Anyone who remembers the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London will recognize the nickname the Blade Runner. It was given to South African Oscar Pistorius, who was the first amputee to compete in an Olympic Games and did so on legs made of carbon fiber. The golden glow of the Olympics soon lost its luster when five months later a call came in to emergency services. Oscar had mistaken his girlfriend for an intruder and accidentally ended her life. Was it an accident? Or was it intentional?

From Sparks to Light - Inspiring Stories for Challenging Times

I have known Heidi Pidcoke since the late 1990s, when we worked together at the Family Institute of Marin, a mental health nonprofit in Marin County, California. At the time Heidi was a Marriage and Family Therapy intern, working on earning her hours for clinical licensure. One of the great joys of my professional life is to be able to watch the people I've had a role in training go out in the world and build their careers, sometimes, as in the case of Heidi, careers that I've both admired and envied. I remember the hours spent in my office talking over weekly supervision like they were yesterday. Heidi's view of the world and of her role in it was expansive, having grown up for the first 11 years of her life in Brazil.  Since then she has lived in California Philadelphia, and Texas in the United States, London and Pretoria South Africa, Nairobi, Kenya and Geneva Switzerland. Originally born in Brazil, Heidi is a  3rd culture person, a child who grows up in a culture different from the one in which his or her parents grew up. She is trilingual, fluent in Spanish and Portuguese as well as English. It is these experiences that we talk about in this episode of From Sparks to Light. In this week's episode, we brought back Nigel Adriaanse (Episode 39), who introduced us to Gareth Shepperson, a conveyance attorney at Delport Van Den Berg, a law firm in Pretoria South Africa.   We invited Gareth to talk to us about the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act because when we started on our journey of real estate investing, we were prevented from buying a property we liked because of this act.   The investor we were trying to buy the property from is actually a seasoned investor with apartment buildings, hotels and guest houses in Mpumalanga, but he also seemed unaware of this act. He was actually selling the property to raise funds for a hotel he was building. In the end, the deal fell through and we couldn't get the property because the municipality wouldn't approve the sale. So in this episode, Gareth answers the following questions:   Why SPLUMA is relevant and important to investors and how does it apply to rural and urban land? Who should be aware of SPLUMA?  At which stage of development is SPLUMA most impactful- drawing of plans/ the actual constructions phase/ at application of occupational certificate? Who enforces the SPLUMA and how would enforcement of SPLUMA look like, with regards to a property one has developed? What other Local Municipal regulations work in conjunction with this regulation?    This is a very important episode for investors who are looking to get into multi-lets or developments in South Africa.   So get your pen and papers out, click play, listen, make notes and leave us a comment in the comments section.   We are also on iTunes and Spotify, so feel free to subscribe and listen to the podcast on there and please leave us a rating and review on iTunes.

Recorded: August 3, 2020 About the podcast Topic: One of our regular guests, Don Burshnick, stands-in for Antlerboy and takes his place behind the bar - somewhere at which he is all too familiar and steps right into the roll. We start the evening off with a discussion about SpaceX and the successful completion of their manned mission to the International Space Station marked by the safe return to Earth of the astronauts aboard. From launch to splashdown, the mission was as perfect as any mission ever was - kudos to Team SpaceX. This episode finds us with an eclectic group of characters who have traveled far and wide to join us at The Outliers Inn. The conversation that is had is varied, but interconnected. And we learn a bit about the "Requisite Agility Movement" which seems to be the thread that binds most of the guests. Our first guest is Geordie who starts off the conversation from Fairfield Connecticut and has put aside his work in the garden for a spell to spend some time and share some thoughts with us. He has been out of work for a while because of COVID. He has been honing his skills and capabilities by participating in the "Requisite Agility Movement" and creating his own particular flavor of analysis he calls the "structures of work". Kyle joins us from El Paso Texas where he has been for 10 years. He is also participating in the "Requisite Agility Movement" and shares that he is a bit brain-dead from preparing for the PGMP Exam. He is currently working on the transit infrastructure program as part of the transition team. Anne joins the conversation all the way from London. And shares with us the current state of COVID in the UK and related goings-on. But she is not interested in sharing her thoughts about COVID and masks (or not), but rather wants to "share her feminist agenda" (rut-roh). Ann shares with us her thoughts regarding social contracts and what is expected (either implied or stated) of each of us to be a part of society. Mario calls in from even further - Pretoria South Africa - and shares with us his evaluation work in complicated systems and the challenges with the eGovernment strategy in South Africa. His work involves getting people to understand what others are saying and mapping the relationships - especially between management and workers. JP is remise his primary responsibility when it comes to the introduction of our next guest; Aiden who joins us from London. Aiden shares with us perspectives on artistry, specifically movies with some of his thoughts on two of JP's most favorite movies; "The Sting" and "Twelve Angry Men" Come listen in - the group conversation at the end is especially engaging. In this episode Patti Anahory speaks with Tuliza Sindi, a lecturer of Architecture at the University of Johannesburg’s Graduate School of Architecture (GSA) and is the founder and CEO of South African-based experimental firm BRNWSH. She obtained her qualifications at the University of Pretoria (South Africa). She has taught at the University of the Witwatersrand as well as Tshwane University of Technology and is regularly invited to examine student work across several schools of architecture in South Africa. Her firm explores the socio-political construct of ‘service’ as a concept on which coloniality is both built upon and functions from; with service (as both verb and noun) being a condition that has and continues to function as a tool of permission, participation, legitimization, influence, dehumanization, exceptionalism, nobility and absolution. Service, and its many iterations, occupies 0.1% of the bible’s teachings as it remains framed as one of the most significant pillars on the spectrum of virtues that constitute healthy social practice and construction. Service has, however, provided the vehicle for the continued creation and abuse of power. The firm explores the implications of this construct and consequence of service on the make-up of societies and their corresponding spatial practices. BRNWSH borrows from and creates language for various disciplines, including media, linguistics, economics, sociology and psychology. https://www.brnwsh.co.za/ Soundtrack: Construction next door! In a context of deep questioning of the post-colonial State in Africa, Nigerian scholar Peter Ekeh publishes in 1975 a seminal piece on the matter: "Colonialism and the Two Publics in Africa: A Theoritical Statement". Rather unknown outside of the African continent by the general public abroad at the time but also up until now, his paper argues that crises in modern African states must be analysed through the societal effects colonialism has had. In it, he exposes what he considers as 'two kinds of publics': the primordial public and the civic public. One individual can be part of the two, must find a balance between them and the confusion between both has fueled modern internal conflicts. Joining us today for Elimu Podcast's first episode, three admirable guests. To start off, Dr. Akinola Olojo, doctor of Philosophy from Université Descartes in Paris (France), currently Senior Researcher at the Institute for Security Studies in Pretoria (South Africa). Following up, Ray Ontita and Uche Njoku, two students in political science.

Wendy L. Patrick is a San Diego County Deputy District Attorney in the Special Operations Division. She previously served in the Sex Crimes and Human Trafficking Division of the San Diego DA's office, where she prosecutor predators, human traffickers, stalkers, rapists, and child molesters. She has completed over 160 trails from first degree murder, to sex crimes, to domestic violence.  She also co-chairs both the California DA's Association Sexually Violent Predator Committee and its Human Trafficking Committee. So Wendy Patrick knows what she's talking about when it comes to crimes related to human trafficking. Join Wendy and host Mike Schutt (sitting on the rooftop of the clubhouse at the Legend Safari Resort a few hours north of Pretoria South Africa, I kid you not) as they discuss current trends in human trafficking, suggestion for action, and how we might help survivors.  What can we do to move beyond awareness? Can prosecutorial work be ministry? Is human trafficking a symptom of something else? Think about these and other questions with Mike and Wendy as they take a break at the FLAG ("Faith and Law Around the Globe") International conference, sponsored by Cru. Wendy is also the president of the Christian Legal Society's New York City attorney chapter (!), and you may contact her with questions on fighting human trafficking or about gatherings of Christian lawyers in the City! Greetings to you out there! My love for house music started at the age of 9 if I'm not mistaken, inspired by alot of deejays back then. As i grew, i learned that we have sub-genres in house music I decided to take the Deep / Tech route. Shows like DSOH, Asylum Hour, DeepVibes, Ashmed Hour helped me to sustain the love I have for this type of music. Not forgetting guys who play some of the good stuff out there, I am listening you better believe that. As you can see now I'm on the Guest mix for the show. I must say I feel sooo GREAT about it. A shoutOut to a good friend of mine Rebecca for hooking me up with a voice over. "Hello, Hi waddup yo! Bonjour a tour le monde qui est a l'ecoute! I am Rebecca and you're listening to the sounds of Eon on the Asylum Hour Podcast, where we go deep!" Those who really know me, know that I value my Friends. Expect tracks from rec labels Eklo, Freerange Rec, Keys In Space Rec, Savior Faire Musique, Something Different Rec, G-Stone Rec & a BIG shoutout to the Producers. Forever in Deep/Tech House music... We LOVE. Peace Contact me on eon.neos@gmail.com Facebook https://www.facebook.com/neoseon.kganyago BBM 25DEF65D Instagram eon.neos
