Joseph Gissy is the CEO and founder of Tactive Advisors, LLC, a WealthTech platform specializing in helping individuals and financial professionals manage their assets through a tactical Robo Advisory, a fully integrated and automated platform. In this episode, Joseph discusses the changing landscape of the financial advisory industry and the potential impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the role of financial advisors. Joseph predicts that within three years, financial advisors may face challenges and even job losses due to their inability to adapt to evolving client needs and leverage AI technologies.Joseph highlights several reasons why financial advisors might struggle to keep up. One major issue is their outdated branding and lack of engagement with clients. They are also hesitant to embrace new technologies and often view them as a threat rather than an opportunity. However, Joseph emphasizes that AI is already replacing certain aspects of financial advising and will continue to do so on a larger scale. He mentions the example of replica.ai, where millions of men are using AI chatbots for dating. While acknowledging the potential of AI to outperform human advisors in certain areas, Joseph argues that there is still value in human expertise. He compares the role of a financial advisor to that of a Sherpa guiding someone on a journey. Advisors can provide personalized guidance, adapt to clients' changing circumstances, and offer insights that algorithms alone cannot replicate.Joseph advises financial advisors to stay relevant by leveraging technology and AI to augment their practices. He mentions his own platform, Tactic Advisors, as an example of how advisors can incorporate AI and algorithms into their strategies. Unlike traditional robo-advisors, Tactic Advisors focuses on automatic, algorithmic, tactical, and active strategies that adapt to the modern trading world. The use of AI in finance goes beyond investment management. Joseph explains that Tactic Advisors is also exploring the integration of AI in helping clients make informed decisions regarding other financial aspects, such as insurance. AI can analyze multiple insurance carriers and products to recommend the most suitable options based on individual criteria, eliminating bias and providing a more comprehensive solution.Joseph concludes by acknowledging that while AI may eventually take over certain aspects of financial advising, there will always be people who prefer human interaction. He encourages financial advisors to embrace technology and leverage AI to enhance their services, providing more value to clients in an evolving landscape.TakeawaysDiscover why within 3 years, 95% of financial advisors will be obsoleteLearn why modern portfolio theory is dead and how to adapt now for massive rewardsGain insights on how AI and automation are changing the game in wealth managementConnectWebsite: www.josephgissy.comYouTube: www.youtube.com/josephgissyLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/josephgissy/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/josephgissyfanpage/Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/1josephgissy/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jcgissyTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@josephgissyMark SavantLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mark-savaSupport the show

This episode is also available as a blog post: https://10leaves.ae/publications/difc/difc-digital-investment-management-robo-advisory-license The DIFC has provisions for both regulated and non-regulated fintech in the Innovation Hub. While they have issued detailed guidelines on Money Services Businesses, there is no such explicit guidance on Robo Advisory licenses. What are Robo-Advisors? Robo-advisors are a class of financial adviser that provide financial advice or Investment management online with moderate to minimal human intervention. They provide digital financial advice based on mathematical rules or algorithms, and use technology to interact with more tech-savvy clients, as opposed to the traditional method of relationship-based advisory. This technology allows investment managers to provide tailored investment management services to clients in a cost-effective and scalable manner. Why Use a Robo-Advisor? There are many reasons why investors may choose to use robo-advisors as opposed to a traditional portfolio manager or financial advisor including: Low fees and no conflict of interest: Many Digital Investment Managers charge significantly lower fees compared to traditional financial advisors. Conflicts of interest are minimized, since there is no bias or pressure to push a certain set of products or solutions. Low minimum requirements: Most financial advisory firms have higher requirements of initial commitments – usually a minimum in excess of US$ 100,000. Robo advisors have much lower entry requirements (some as low as US$ 1,000) and work on volumes. Availability: Digital Investment Managers are automated and hence available 24/7. Prominent robo-advisory firms include https://www.betterment.com, https://www.personalcapital.com, and https://intelligent.schwab.com. The Dubai Financial Services Authority, or DFSA, reviews applications from firms who wish to carry out financial services from the DIFC. In the absence of explicit guidance, based on our experience with DIFC Robo-advisory applications, the following activities may be applicable, depending on the business model, whether fully-digital, or hybrid. Firms that sell white-labeled technology solutions to wealth managers are not covered since they do not require financial services permissions.
//Coinscrum Markets EP50 Segment - Market Spotlight with Makara's Jesse Proudman //Segment Overview:: As the crypto asset markets continue to attract a new wave of retail and institutional participants alike, the breadth of possible investment opportunities can seem mind boggling and, for the uninitiated, somewhat risky - especially when directly investing in, managing and storing the assets themselves. Although the same can be said for traditional asset classes, tools to help de-risk and simplify investment decisions for retail investors have existed for some time but similar products and services such as Robo-Advisory for crypto have been lacking - until now. Jesse Proudman joined Teana Baker-Taylor to discuss how he and his team have taken the technology and strategies they developed for their institutional clients at their crypto-hedge fund, Strix Leviathan, and have repurposed them for a retail audience in a regulatory compliant manner. //Read on Coinscrum Website www.coinscrum.com or watch the video version on our Youtube Channel. //Follow our Social Media:: www.linkedin.com/company/coinscrum www.twitter.com/coinscrum www.facebook.com/Coinscrum //Join our Facebook Community:: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Coinscrum //Our sponsors:: Buy & HODL BTC/ETH/LTC/XRP on Luno - http://www.coinscrum.com/luno-exchange/ Earn up to 8% interest with Blockfi - http://www.coinscrum.com/blockfi-earn-interest/ Analyse on-chain data at ByteTree - http://www.coinscrum.com/bytetree-terminal/ The world's most popular way to buy, sell, and trade crypto - https://www.blockchain.com/
Will you trust a robot or an AI to handle your finances? Why not? For the past couple of months, I have been investing in a robo advisor because of its simplicity, ease of use and most importantly - low management fees! With their growing popularity, a question begs to be answered: are robo advisors better than the traditional human financial advisors that we are so used to? To help me find the answer, I have invited Michele Ferrario, the CEO & Co-Founder of StashAway. In January of this year, Stashaway became the first digital wealth manager in Southeast Asia to manage more than $1 billion, and early this week, they have raised US$25mil in Series D funding led by Sequoia Capital India. This goes to show how promising the company is and the entire Robo-Advisory industry in general. Prior to SA Michele was the former CEO of Zalora Group and the co-founder of Rocket Internet in Italy and Pakistan. He worked as Investment Manager at Synergo and as Engagement Manager at McKinsey. He earned his MBA at Columbia Business School and his Bachelor of Science in Finance at Bocconi University in Italy. -- Jay Adrian Tolentino AKA “Kuya Jay” is a Financial Literacy Evangelist and an Independent Financial Coach based in Dubai. He holds certifications from the Chartered Insurance Institute UK (CII) - Award in Financial Planning and Award in Investment Planning, and from the Registered Financial Philippines - Associate Financial Planner (AFP) and Registered Financial Planner (RFP). He worked as a Consultant in one of the top brokerage firms in the UAE and a Yaman Coach under the Personal Finance Advisers (PFA) in the Philippines. He got featured in ABS CBN Balitang Global in April of 2019 for the Empowered Expats vlog along with Seigmond Abad. June 2020, he was given the Excellence Award in Insurance & Other Financial Services by the Filipino Social Club as part of the celebration of the Philippine Independence Day. Also last August 2020, he was invited to speak in Congress to represented the sentiments of many OF's regarding the mandatory 3% contribution being asked by Philhealth. He also hosts Business Mondays, Finance Fridays, and Real Talk On Real Estate thru his Purpose Driven Finance FB page & YT channel, which can also be listened to on Pera & Purpose Podcast available on Spotify, Apple Podcast and other major podcast platforms.

Ned Phillips is the Founder and CEO of Bambu, a white-label roboadvisory platform. Backed by Franklin Templeton, among others, Bambu builds roboadvisory offerings for banks, investments firms and other consumer-facing businesses. In this conversation, we discuss the limitations of current roboadvisory offerings, the reasons banks have trouble designing solutions for customers and where the space goes from here. Prior to founding Bambu, Ned was the Managing Director of Asia for E-Trade and brings a decades long perspective on digital investments to this conversation. I’m a firm believer in the power of technology in personal financial management as much as in any other vertical, and we’ve only just scratched the surface.

Alle machen was mit Algorithmen, alle was mit Künstlicher Intelligenz.

Who is the hottest stock picker on Wall Street… the one that millennials are adopting by the busload, venture capitalists are funding by the truckload, and is capturing the attention of the financial press in an amazing way? I’m Bryan Ellis. I’ll tell you RIGHT NOW in Episode #116-------Hello, my friends! What a great weekend… a lot of time with Carole and the kids, a lot of rest… it’s just what the doctor ordered! I’m back with you recharged, refreshed and ready for another big week of Investment Excellence, right here on the podcast of record for savvy, self-directed investors like you! What do you do when you just don’t trust your stock broker or investment advisor, but you believe Wall Street is your only medium for growing wealth?Well, of course, you turn all of your decision making over to a computer.Huh? Yep… you heard it right, folks. A huge trend in financial planning – particularly among cash-rich millennials – is something called a “Robo Advisor”. It’s essentially just a software program that you give fully authority to manage your investment portfolio on a fully automated basis. The premise is an interesting one. After all, isn’t it true that most of the mistakes made by stock market investors are mistakes born of emotional response that’s not supported by logic? And wouldn’t the use of an emotionless computer help to mitigate that risk – and make it possible to factor in a breathtakingly large amount of information into every decision on a moment-by-moment basis?Well, maybe. I’ll give you my perspective on that in a moment… which, you might find interesting, as I’m both an active investor and was, for many years, a rather successful software developer. This trend towards Robo Advisory is interesting, and it’s attracting major attention from venture capital firms, and of course, some of the major Wall Street firms – like Charles Schwab and Vanguard – have gotten in on the act with Robo Advisory services of their own.I’ll admit: The premise is appealing. It’s easy to make the marketing case for why Robo Advisory would be a great idea. After all, clearly, it’s possible to make profits in the stock market… so why wouldn’t a computer… with infinitely better information access than any human… be a superior choice?Well, so far, it looks like the humans are winning. Overall, results for RoboAdvisory firms, including some of the big names like Wealthfront and Betterment, are underperforming the market as a rule. Here’s the thing, folks: I’m a big believer in the notion of PROPER PREMISE. And it’s pretty clear to me that the flight to Robo Advisory is based on a flawed premise. What is that flawed premise? It’s simple: Wall Street is the best place to invest your capital. My friends, the facts simply don’t bear that out.Look, if you’re going to be an active and focused investor, carefully choosing your own investments and monitoring their performance regularly and adjusting whenever necessary, then it’s possible you can invest in stocks and beat the averages. Note: That’s possible, not likely. It’s astounding, but it’s still true that the goal of most financial advisors is to beat the performance of the S&P 500 – and most of them just don’t do it with any consistency at all.But the mere POSSIBILITY of making money is no way to choose an asset class.Where is it POSSIBLE to make money? Well… in stocks, for sure. In Las Vegas… very low odds, but very high return potential. If you really want to go where the money is, you could fund the production of crystal meth and become fabulously wealthy in just a few days, but at the risk of both imprisonment and death. The stakes aren’t quite so high in the stock market, but the idea is the same. There’s a concept I’ve discussed with you before: Reversion to the mean. That means that things to go back to their averages. If you’re likely to win 1 time out of every 20 on the slot machines in Vegas, then that’s about how frequently you’ll win over time, even if you lose every round for a while, or even if you win 5 in a row. If there’s a 90% chance you’ll end in prison or dead by getting into the crystal meth business and you’re presently neither incarcerated or dead, then you should buy life insurance and move out of the country. And if you’re investing in stocks… the 80-year compounded annual growth rate of the S&P 500 is about 6.5%. That’s the average. That’s what it does. Sometimes better, sometimes worse. But that’s the average… and that’s what the S&P500 will revert to.And along the way… volatility. Unpredictability. Stress. Not good things.Look, I’m not actually opposed to stock market investing. I think there are almost always great opportunities… but those opportunities are almost never where the public is looking. So here’s how all of this relates to the notion of having a PROPER PREMISE. The 3 problems with the premise that Wall Street is the best place to invest your capital are: (1) you’re investing in a market where the mean to which your returns will revert are basically only in the 6% range; (2) historically, individual investors perform BELOW the index as a whole because they don’t stay the course consistently over time; and (3) the low average return is DESPITE the fact that the market is incredibly volatile… in other words, the high degree of volatility… in other words, risk… is totally out of line with the low level of PROFIT.And it looks like the Robo Advisors are not yet outperforming their human counterparts. I think it’s possible that the Robo Advisors could catch up to the performance of human advisors, but the reality is that these applications are created by humans using algorithms created by humans, relying on patterns observed by humans… inherently, the human bias is built in to these services. The one attractive thing about RoboAdvisors is that they are, by and large, relatively inexpensive. So if you insist on gambling on Wall Street, at least you’ll lose less in the form of commissions. You know another way to beat the averages? Inspired by the 1973 book “A Random Walk Down Wall Street” in which Princeton Professor Burton Malkiel claimed that a blindfolded monkey would beat the market by picking stocks chosen by throwing darts at a newspaper’s financial page – a firm called Research Associates did an interesting study in which they chose 100 totally random portfolios. And you know what? 98 of the 100 random portfolios actually DID beat the performance of the market! My friends: Not good. Not good at all.A smarter premise is this: Everything reverts to the mean, so let’s choose investments with better averages! And let’s choose investments that aren’t so volatile that the stress induced on the way to making those returns counteracts the financial benefit of the profit!Want to know how to do that with YOUR portfolio? Just text the word GUIDANCE to 33444 and I’ll be happy to give you my thoughts about that. My friends, invest wisely today… and live well forever!
