Self-care is the art of meeting our needs in order to reach our full potential. True self-care is what I call effective, authentic self-care. It means, ensuring that all of our needs - spiritual and emotional- as well as -mental and physical- are met. It requires self-determination, self-knowledge and a bit of courage. If you think of self care as the art of meeting your needs, then imagine all your favorite colors on the palate that you're going to use to create your way to meeting your needs.Oftentimes, when we shift our perspective toward a more creative approach, you'll find yourself enjoying the process, you become open, you can easily approach any new idea or routine with a sense of curiosity and discovery. As you create-and-engage in your authentic self-care routine, you're going to experience inner- joy and peace. You'll feel more balanced and relaxed and your self-confidence will automatically increase. My intention is to give you a solid foundation on which you can build your self-care routine for long-term success, not a quick fix or a temporary solution. You deserve to live your best life today and to carry that long into your future! Releasing blocked energy and negative emotions will open you up instantly to unlimited possibilities. So, everything I gave you in episode 17 is genuine, it's practical and it's an essential foundation for you to achieve your long term success. Learn how to use the creative force lies within you that you can allow you to create your new story to overcome any limitations! I believe everyone came into the world with the desire to create. This may be one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul. Do you feel there are conditions or circumstances that are holding you back from exploring and expressing your desires? Perhaps, in the midst of the demands of daily life, you may have put off, suppressed or even forgotten your dreams and desires. You may be thinking you're really not creative at all. In a variety of ways, through different and uniqie expressions, I knoweveryone has an expression along with the the ability to create. If you think about it, everything in life can be viewed as art. What you do, the way you dress, how you love, the way you decorate your home, your smile and personality, what you believe in and all of your dreams. Corine Garsten said, "Life itself is art." This doesn't mean that life is always going to be perfect. Unforeseen things happen to us all. When life presents challenges, instead of getting discouraged, stay present and be intentional with your thoughts and your expression. How we manage our thoughts and how we use our mind can be for the better or for the worse. Jimmy Buffet said, "It takes no more time to see the good side of life than it does to see the bad." So bring your intention in. What is the new story, what is the new image, what direction do you take and how are you going to find it? If you think of life as an art form, it can open up your mind to new ways of thinking and seeing possibilities that you may not have been able to see or believe before. Make space for the creative force within you to express itself. Take deep long breaths, smile as much as possible, become aware of your present moment and the choices you make, the things you think about and be aware of the impact your thoughts or beliefs are having on you. If it's not supporting you, just let it go. If those around you don't support you, create some space. Give yourself permission to be fully who you are. Release the artist's mind to create your new story and see how life itself is art! Albert Einstein said, "Creativity is intelligence having fun!" S2:E15 Incremental Steps To Your Desired Outcome

When you have a desire to do something or to have something, or maybe it's to have the experience of something, incremental progress is a good way to start. This can apply to anything you want or need ranging in areas such as relationships, the workplace or a career, maybe it's in the area of finances, it can be health related, spirituality or any kind of self improvement, or, perhaps you're looking to make a change in your life. When you have identified what it is and you have an idea or a vision of what it could look like, you are well on your way. What is your need? What do you want? What are your ideas and desires? In the practical sense, I recommend that you write down your thoughts, desires or ideas as they come. Then, turn your thoughts and ideas into a vision. This is a very important first step. Neville Goddard says it like this, “With your desire defined, quietly go within and shut the door behind you. Lose yourself in your desire; feel yourself to be one with it; remain in this fixation until you have absorbed the life and name by claiming and feeling yourself to be and to have that which you desired. When you emerge, you must do so conscious of being and possessing that which you heretofore desired.” How do you do this? Prayer or Meditation is a good way to gain the clarity you need to identify and then to connect to that vision. There are many ways you can meditate. For this practice, I would suggest sitting down with your thoughts and ideas and then get quiet as Neville said. You do this by holding your wants, needs, desires and ideas in your heart. Remember, your heart knows! In meditation, you don't have to think about it. As you quiet down your mind, you can allow some visualization to take place. Allow your imagination to create and form pictures or images. As this is happening, connect with it through feeling. Feel as though it has already happened. What does that feel like? Does it feel like relief? Do you feel the possibility, because, here, you won't see or feel any limitations. You don't have to stay in this place very long. It can be as little as a few seconds or it can be much longer. Once you see it and you connect with it through the feeling it brings, it's enough. Now, here is your vision.Afterward, when you emerge, write down what you saw and how you felt. When the vision is written down, it will begin to solidify. The vision written down helps us to start making a path or a plan that we can accomplish. If we don't write the vision down, then we can quickly forget it. But when it is written down we begin walking in the reward of its success. So, write down your vision in as much detail as you can and notice how that compares to the thoughts and ideas you had prior to meditating.From here, you can begin taking the next incremental steps forward. Do what you can everyday even if it's an inch at a time. When you hold your vision in your heart, doors will open for you. Opportunities that support your vision will become available to you and little by little, step by step, inch by inch, you will be making incremental progress. What or who do you believe, and do you trust what you believe?Depending on what and who you listen to whether that's the news or the opinions of others, you may feel uneasy or fearful because it's difficult to know what to expect or what to believe. Regardless of financial status, ethnicity, religion, education or political views, I will always believe that the human race mostly wants to be happy and live harmoniously. I'm not going to go into all the topics at hand, but, I do want to talk about what you believe. I want to encourage and inspire you to never give up. Everything is alright and everything will always work out for you. I've talked to many people recently that are experiencing a lack of energy and they're finding it harder to focus and as well as difficulty in staying positive. This is also understandable and, like the 5 stages of grief I talked about in my last episode. It's part of the process that I believe can and will ultimately help you get where you want to go. Without having some form of fear and uncertainty, we will never know what courage and resilience is. Any leader or pioneer, explorer, inventor, or even those in the arts or creative fields...like composers, painters, sculptures, film makers... whatever it is... they've all faced uncertainty that came with some element of risk. I find that very inspiring and it shows that when we believe in something we can do amazing things regardless of the circumstances. It's so important to believe in something beyond what we see or hear and even beyond what we're experiencing and how we're feeling. The mind is great for analyzing and problem solving, but is often limited by the perspectives we have and what we believe. Naturally, we can often feel overwhelmed by our circumstances and through the appearance of 'how things are'. I find the underlying cause of limitations is often fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of making a mistake... lack of trust is rooted in fear. This is all natural and understandable, but it leads to frustration, anger, resentment, regret and all sorts of unsettling reactions.When I ask you what or who you believe in, regardless of anything else, you should believe in yourself and trust what you believe. Trust that you are, you can and you will. You are; you exist, trusting that in itself is a beautiful gift. Trust that you can do whatever you need or want to do. Trust that you will get through, you will overcome and you will break through any perceived fears, limitations, setbacks or struggles. This will give you confidence and confidence means believing in yourself. So, I'm asking you to trust what you believe. When you are confident in yourself, your world can change and new opportunities will come. When you keep at it, you can think about trust and confidence as something you will gain each day and it will accumulate as you go. It's a daily practice. In this episode, I give you some real life stories and examples to inspire and encourage you! The one common thread among these stories of overcoming is that believing in yourself and following your passion doesn't always come easy, but oftentimes, goes hand-in-hand with change, loss, hardship and challenges. S2:E12 Recognizing Your State Of Emotion: Is It Grief?

We are living in a time of change and it's something that on some level is affecting everyone...in relationships, in finances, and in some it's mental and emotional, and it's affecting some as well on a physical level or just life in general. We've all experienced what I call a forced change. Our way of life has changed. I understand that many of you are feeling overwhelmed and are struggling with the stresses of everyday life and it's understandable. Change on any level can easily create uncertainty and a feeling of uneasiness, stress and discord. If you're experiencing a lack of energy, a lack of focus and if it seems you're experiencing some loss in your vision for your goals and your dreams or desires, it's also understandable. It occurred to me, it's possible that we may be dealing with a type of grief. When we think of grief, we think it pertains to the loss of a loved one or something more along this line. And, while this is true, and some of you have had this experience, I also think it's possible to have a grief experience through other forms of loss as well which is likely to happen during times of change. This may include the loss of a loved one, maybe it's a divorce, loss of friends or a community, loss of income, loss of a health whether that be physical, emotional or mental health, or how about, the loss of a lifestyle we once knew? We can often feel the same type of grief and, we may not even realize it. This is a completely normal process that we go through, and yet, if we don't realize what we're experiencing, we can try to fix the feelings or the 'problem' without understanding the cause.Elizabeth Kubler-Ross was a well known psychiatrist who developed a theory or a model she referred to as the 5 stages of grief. I'd like to go over it with you to help you determine if this may be an underlying cause of some of your experiences. It's so important to recognize any of these struggles and to know that you're not alone. There's nothing wrong with you. You're having an experience and it's okay not to be okay. Life presents issues and difficulties that are beyond our control sometimes and it's not always easy. But, your life experiences don't define you. If you will give yourself some space to allow the process to bring you through ... You may be surprised to discover your true amazement, in your resilience and your brilliance. Learning to understand the difference between using your mind and listening to your heart can make all the difference on your perceptions and the outcome. Since thoughts influence emotion, let's explore the heart of the matter! What is your heart telling you and how does it influence your mind?First, it's important to know what it means when I say "heart." In this context, I am not referring to the physical heart, although it is connected, but, I'm referring to the human energetic field of which the body is an extension. Our energetic lines are part of an energetic information field which connects the human form and the human energetic field to other levels of reality which I refer to as vortexes. Within the human energy field are many lines of energy flow. There are seven main lines through the field. In the East, this is referred to as chakras or wheels of light. The balance point of all these chakras is the heart chakra or heart vortex which is in the center of your chest. This is the heart I'm referring to and it's what's referred to when we say, "the power of the heart, or what is your heart telling you?" The way our head or mind processes everything vs the way our heart does are very different. The heart knows because it's connecting you to levels of awareness outside of the perceptually manipulated or influenced world of humanity to higher-levels of consciousness that actually do know. The mind wants to reason and needs explanation. It starts with a list of reasons why what you know to do shouldn't or can't happen because its sense of reality has limited perceptions based on human society; largely through what I call false belief systems that we've learned through experiences. It's come through what we've been taught and what we've come to fear. The heart doesn't reason in this way; it just knows and doesn't need to work it out. When you start to go with your intuitive knowing and let the head become the servant of the heart instead of the other, then your life changes dramatically. Because, you're being guided by a level of awareness that is able to see from a perspective beyond the limited world perceptions. The simplest way to understand this is to say, the head or the mind is in the world and it's of the world. Ancient texts tell us to be in the word, and not of the world.To understand how the heart can influence the mind is to have a better understanding of how the mind works. The head, or mind is giving its perceptions from the world as we know it. What you perceive is what you believe and what you believe becomes your truth. Your thoughts, words and intentions are so important because of the influence-they-have on your reality. Imagination is also important as it plays a huge role in the reality you create. Here's a simple explanation of how the mind works: There are two hemispheres of the brain. You have the right side and the left side and they differ in the way they process information. The left side perceives everything to be apart from everything else. Events can become random and unconnected in and of themselves whereas the right side of the brain is much more connected to the invitation of the heart and is better able at connecting dots. This is a follow up from the last episode where I spoke about the pineal gland, I gave you a little history from ancient times until today. I gave you some information about what it is and the vital role it plays in your overall well being and how it can become calcified over time which limits its ability to function. To give ourselves time and attention can sometimes create a feeling of guilt and shame because the appearance of having it all together is what we're about.There's a lot of focus today on the topic of self love but who wants to admit that they're one of those that needs to take time for themselves? Does it show weakness? And, what will others think if you were to admit that you may need to 'work' on yourself? First of all, it's not work... it's honor. Honor yourself!
