(To be read in a dramatic voice) No one would have believed... ... that a tale so vast- of death, alien destruction, heat rays, Phil Lynott, and the Moody Blues- could be told through orchestral prog rock, synths, and frying pans. Yet today, Frizz and Bob pop open Quest's End Paladin Whiskey & Ardbeg Uigedal Scotch to bring you PART ONE of Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds- a British sci-fi marvel that, for decades, has been misunderstood and mostly unseen by the American eye. In this first chapter, we set the stage: The backstory. The architects of the sound. The players of this curious sonic war. The chances of you missing this are a million to one, they said. Yet, here you are. Next week... the invasion begins.

We dispense with the niceties this month and discuss an album where we have quite differing opinions. Welcome to Episode 56 of This is Not Happening (TINH), an Album of the Month (AOTM) Podcast. In Part 1 we deep dive into an Album that one of us has chosen and in Part 2 we play 'Spin it or Bin it'. We pick a theme and each pick a song that represents that theme. We judge the selections by asking the question 'Spin It or Bin It'?In Part 1, David, resident 'Pop Being', has the pleasure of presenting an album from one of his genuine musical obsessions. 'Saya' the latest release by Saya Gray.In Part 2, following the theme of 'Saya', break-up and heart-break, we play Spin It or Bin It with the simple theme of 'Heart Break' with no additional rules! ----- Part 1 | Saya Gray | 'Saya' -----To say David is a Saya Gray fan is something of an understatement. He has been championing the strange sounds of Saya for nearly 3 years. Nobody's really sure if this is her debut album or not but that's not important. It is an album and an artist that has divided opinion on the pod. 2 of us love this album, 1 of us doesn't, and 1 of us has had such a busy month at work that we have no idea what they think pre-recording.Regardless of how we feel about this album individually, we all think it's an album that deserves a listen. Listen to the album, listen to the pod, tell us what you think.Listen to the album ... HERE.Watch the World Cafe Podcast / Interview ... HERE.Watch the AMAZING Tiny Desk Performance ... Probably not but it definitely feels like it when you start looking for your favourite tracks that embrace the subject. We've chosen a track each that may not be what you expect.Guy chose 'A Little Respect' by Erasure. David chose 'Already Dead' by Beck. Joey chose 'It's Not Right, But It's Okay' by Whitney Houston. Nolan chose 'Shiver' by Lucy Rose. Our Road to Skeletá series continues with the emergence of Papa Emeritus Zero (Papa Nihil), the rise of Cardinal Copia as Ghost's new frontman, and the band's fourth Sacred Psalm "Prequelle." Previous album releases have not lined up with podcasts but this time they did! Satisfied Soul is an album that is worth any music fan spending some time with. It is not a niche hip hop album for niche hip hop fans. It's soul music. It's pop music. It's Hip Hop. It's intelligent. It's massively thought provoking and massively accessible to anyone with an open mind and an open ear. Get on it. Jesse Starcher, Robert Cooper, Mik Wanamaker and Mark Radulich present their Body Count Merciless 2024 Album Review as part of the MHOD Jukebox!Body Count is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1990. The group is fronted by Ice-T, who first established himself as a rapper but co-founded the group with lead guitarist Ernie C out of their interest in heavy metal music. Ice-T took on the role of vocalist and writing the lyrics for most of Body Count's songs, while Ernie C has been responsible for writing the group's music.Body Count's self-titled debut album was released on Sire Records in 1992, and garnered much attention due to a controversy around the song "Cop Killer". Their label, Sire Records, and their parent company, Warner Bros. Records, defended the song; however Ice-T chose to remove it from the album because he felt that the controversy had eclipsed the music itself. The group left Sire the following year, and they have since released seven more albums.Three out of the band's original seven members are deceased: D-Roc died from lymphoma, Beatmaster V from leukemia, and Mooseman in a drive-by shooting. Body Count's current lineup includes vocalist Ice-T, guitarists Ernie C and Juan Garcia, bassist Vincent Price, drummer Will "Ill Will" Dorsey Jr., and backing vocalists Sean E Sean and Little Ice (Ice-T's son). The band received its second Grammy nomination and later won the award at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2021 for Best Metal Performance with their song "Bum Rush" from the album Carnivore.Merciless is the eighth studio album by American heavy metal band Body Count. It was released on November 22, 2024, via Century Media Records. Production was handled by Ice-T, Vincent Price and Will Putney. It features guest appearances from Corpsegrinder, Howard Jones, Joe Bad, and Max Cavalera.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59
