An 185-pound frame earned in the trenches taught Anthony Castore that no protocol can out-discipline a broken foundation. From a 117-pound teenager asking too many questions to a Fellow at the Seeds Scientific Research & Performance Institute, Castore turned an obsession with cellular mechanics into decades of coaching elite athletes, executives, and physicians. Before chasing modern peptide hype and quick-fix stacks, lifters must master the free, high-yield biological signals that only heavy iron, dialed nutrition, and real recovery can trigger. INSIDE THIS CONVERSATION The 117-Pound Baseline: How hard-earned mass requires relentless execution rather than perfect genetics. The Peptide Trap: Why expensive compounds fail when basic training, nutrition, and recovery are ignored. Mitochondrial Mechanics: How to structure nutrition and meal timing around the body's natural cellular cleanup processes. Circadian Biology: Why morning light, breathwork, and evening habits have a direct impact on recovery, hormone health, and performance. Hydration Beyond Water: How strategic electrolyte balance and osmolytes help drive nutrients into muscle tissue instead of your bladder. MEET THE GUEST Anthony Castore, known as "The King of Peptides," is a strength coach and cellular medicine authority with more than three decades of experience training high performers, executives, and physicians. A former student of Charles Poliquin and Dr. Eric Serrano, Castore became one of the few non-physician Fellows at the Seeds Scientific Research & Performance Institute (SSRP), where he lectures at the Peptide World Congress. He is the founder of D.R.I.V.E. Longevity Solutions, creator of The Castore Method, and founder of AlchemIQ Labs. In today's episode of Backpacker Radio presented by The Trek, brought to you by LMNT, we are joined by Tina Currin, aka Cash Money, a Triple Crown thru-hiker, Andrew Skurka guide, park ranger, wilderness EMT, and Guinness World Record holder. In this one, Tina explains how she set the world record for most air horns blown simultaneously outside the North Carolina governor's mansion, details how she bought her Colorado house sight-unseen off Zillow during a zero day on the CDT while soaking her feet in a trash can, and she recounts getting separated from her husband in a snowstorm on the CDT, where both of them hit their SOS buttons convinced the other was dead. We also cover her Denali expedition, where she summited on day 22 with the final morsels of her food supply, after multiple deaths near her camp, why she thinks the PCT is boring, and how she landed her trail name after wielding a fat wad of singles at a trail magic session on the AT. We wrap the show with the details of the upcoming Backpacker Radio Hiker Meetup in Seattle, a rundown of 20 strange things thru-hiking does to your body, ranking the AT, PCT, and CDT from best to worst- according to triple crowners, a debate over a life rewind button vs. a life pause button, a mailbag about taser-equipped trekking poles, and the triple crown of shitty beers. If you train high school athletes like Division I pros, you are destroying their potential. For 13 years at Wisconsin, Brian Bott built NFL offensive linemen and Rose Bowl champions using old-school grit—only to realize that the biggest mistake strength coaches make is confusing intensity with actual development. Bott reveals the hard-earned wisdom behind taking a 13-year-old from a broken squat pattern to a 500-pound lift, detailing why chasing glitzy speed drills over raw force production dooms young athletes to failure. He breaks down the exact conjugate framework he uses to build armor, protect fragile backs, and teach high schoolers how to handle brutal, back-to-back stress so they dominate when November comes. INSIDE THIS CONVERSATION Fixing Broken Movement: Why correcting bad motor patterns takes eight weeks—and why Bott would rather train a blank slate than a kid taught the wrong way. The 2010 Programming Shift: How Wisconsin linemen front squatted heavy during spring scrimmage weeks so they could survive the physical demands of late-season Big Ten football. Basketball vs. Football Wear and Tear: Why high school basketball players often sustain more back compression issues from repeated landings than football players do from squatting. Auto-Regulating Dynamic Effort: How to adjust speed work using bar velocity and readiness when athletes are drained from school, practice, and life stress. Minimal-Dose In-Season Training: The strategy that eliminates unnecessary accessory work to preserve shoulders while continuing to build real power. MEET THE GUEST Brian Bott spent 13 seasons as an Assistant Strength Coach for the University of Wisconsin Badgers, contributing to three Big Ten Championships, three Rose Bowl appearances, and developing elite NFL talent including Joe Thomas, J.J. Watt, and Russell Wilson. As the owner of Sports AdvantEdge—now expanded across seven locations—and Head Strength Coach for LOVB Madison, Bott has spent more than 25 years developing resilient, high-performance athletes through battle-tested conjugate methods and uncompromising technique. Belle Burden was, by her own account, the good girl. Quiet, compliant, the kid who wrote her own book report and did her homework on Friday afternoons. Then one night in the second week of the 2020 lockdown, a stranger left a voicemail: your husband is having an affair with my wife. By 6 a.m. her 20-year marriage was over, and the life she thought she could count on stopped making sense. In her memoir of the event and its aftermath, Strangers, Belle traces how she got to this place - and how she found her way back. They get into the stuff we all carry: why "being good" can quietly cost you yourself, how kids notice far more than we give them credit for, and why it's never too late to tell them the truth. Dr. Becky wrote up her thoughts on how to get the "good girl" tendency out of your own emotional driver seat. * Thank you to our partners for making this episode possible: Girl Scouts: If you have a daughter in kindergarten through 12th grade, visit girlscouts.org to learn more LMNT: Get a free gift with your purchase at drinkLMNT.com/goodinside Pampers Easy Ups: Start your potty training journey with Peppa Pig Pampers Easy Ups Little Spoon: Get 50% off your first order at littlespoon.com/rattled with code RATTLED Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. To survive the brutal reality of elite-level strength, you might have to destroy the very person you spent a lifetime building. Ben Pollack earned a PhD in physical culture history while systematically destroying his own body, ignoring years of excruciating warnings for the sake of world records and plastic trophies. But when a sudden, terrifying neurological shutdown left half his body completely unresponsive overnight, he was forced to abandon the self-destructive addiction to pure suffering and learn what true strength is actually for. INSIDE THIS CONVERSATION The Paralyzing Price of Progress: How chronic tension and "clenching" led to a sudden neurological collapse that left Ben unable to flex his own lat. The Trap of Extreme Weight Cuts: The brutal reality of starving down to 181 pounds, and why the physical toll of dehydration is more dangerous than any PED. Forced Identity Death: Why the most critical step in recovering from a career-ending injury is literally becoming a different human being. The Illusion of More: How chasing a 600-pound deadlift proved that achieving your ultimate physical goals won't fix who you are on the inside. Redefining Effort: Why your accessory work is wasting energy, and how to train with high frequency without accumulating crippling global fatigue. MEET THE GUEST Ben Pollack is a physical culture scholar, former world-record powerlifter, and IFBB Pro bodybuilder who has spent his life bridging the gap between academic theory and under-the-bar reality. After reaching the peak of both strength and physique sports, Ben faced a near-fatal neurological reckoning that forced him to dismantle his philosophy. Today, he coaches athletes not just to build elite strength, but to survive it. Lance, George, Sir Bradley, and Spencer Martin (aka The Professor) break down Mauro Schmid's incredible stage win from a massive breakaway on Stage 13 of the 2026 Tour de France to save Jayco's race. They discuss how Tom Pidcock getting into a massive 50+ rider breakaway and moving into 4th overall changes the GC picture, and how such a big breakaway gets away to begin with, and how it can sow chaos in the GC group behind. You can buy fat loss with an injection, but you cannot fake the raw, violent physical capability required to survive when the lights turn on and the floor turns into a warzone. Before stepping under the Hollywood lights as the new faces of American Gladiators, Daniella Means, Lu Faustin, and Kailey Latimer forged their armor through shattered orbital bones, grueling Division I athletic politics, and the unforgiving reality of immigrant grit. Along the way, they realized that true elite-level performance isn't about chasing aesthetic superficiality or corporate fitness trends, but about weaponizing a zero-compromise mindset that translates directly from the platform to the dirt. INSIDE THIS CONVERSATION The Pump Illusion: Why traditional backstage preparation caused elite male competitors to break down while the women survived the heavy volume. The Earning Curve: The harsh psychological divide between physical attributes you can buy off a shelf and the absolute power that must be taxed out of your own spine. Combat Transfer: How pro-wrestling ring psychology outmuscled raw weightlifting metrics the exact second the script went out the window. Isolated Pressure: The brutal transition from team-dependent field sports to the cold, solitary numbers dictated by the barbell. MEET THE GUESTS Daniella "Voltage" Means is an IFBB Pro and IPF World Champion who stood on a national competitive platform just eight weeks after surviving a devastating hammer attack to the face. Lu "Empire" Faustin is an IFBB Figure Pro, WBFF Pro, entrepreneur, and speaker. Raised in New York by Haitian immigrant parents, Lu earned a degree in International Relations with a focus on Law in Belgium before being discovered in a gym and winning her first bodybuilding competition, Miss Fitness Belgium. Today, she is building a career at the intersection of fitness, media, entrepreneurship, and community impact, proving that strength and femininity aren't opposites-they're a powerful combination Kailey "Hurricane" Latimer is a former Division I powerhouse and the longest-reigning NWA World Women's Champion in history, capturing elite sports supremacy by treating competition as an absolute expression of faith. Trauma isn't what happened to you, it's the wound it left behind. In this episode, Jeff revisits his conversation with Dr. Gabor Maté, physician and author, exploring why the effects of trauma can outlast the event itself, and why chronic illness is so often the body asking us to pay attention. Why "normal" isn't the same as healthy The difference between a traumatic event and the trauma itself How disconnecting from ourselves can show up as physical illness What forgiveness actually has to do with healing This episode is for anyone who has wondered why some wounds take longer to heal than others. To his three daughters, Jeff is just "there" — a treasured family heirloom, the silver platter that lives on the shelf and rarely gets used. In this episode, Jeff surfaces from five delirious days of stomach flu, his girls recording TikTok dances around his sickbed, and uses the quiet to trace the unglamorous work of fathering: dawn walks through Williamsburg with a baby zipped against his chest, bedtime reading marathons that ended only when sleep finally won, and the slow shift from carrying his daughters to chauffeuring them. Schuyler joins to talk about what remains when influence gives way to presence, and why the thing that matters most may be the least visible — showing up every day and asking nothing in return. This is the 5th episode of Diaries of a Dance Dad, an audio memoir series in Jeff's own words. It spans the full arc of parenthood: the inhale of birth and early chaos, the grind of no sleep and travel with kids, the gut-punches of failure, and the slow exhale of letting go. Andrew Huberman has talked about it. Joe Rogan uses it. Nicotine for focus has become one of the loudest trends in optimization culture, marketed as a clean stimulant for your prefrontal cortex. In this episode, the "Is This Right for Me?" series separates the real pharmacology from the marketing. How nicotine acts on attention, memory, and dopamine What a major meta-analysis found, and how small the effect really is Why nicotine pouches and Zyn carry risks that caffeine does not The difference between harm reduction for smokers and a nootropic for everyone else What actually builds durable focus instead of renting it This episode is for anyone curious about nicotine pouches, focus and cognition, or the gap between wellness claims and evidence. When a woman becomes a mother, her brain physically reorganizes around the baby. We've known this for a while. What we didn't know (until recently) is that the same thing happens to dads. Dr. Darby Saxbe is a neuroscientist and psychologist at USC, and one of the only researchers in the world scanning fathers' brains before and after they have kids. What she found: the same regions that change and streamline in new mothers change in new fathers. The more hands-on a dad is, the more pronounced those changes are. Dr. Becky and Dr. Darby get into what "losing gray matter" actually means (it's not what it sounds like), how paternal postpartum depression shows up differently than maternal (and why it almost always goes unrecognized), and why the awkwardness of new fatherhood isn't a signal that you're wrong for the role. Dr. Saxbe's new book is Dad Brain. * Thank you to our partners for making this episode possible: Skylight: Get $30 off a 15-inch Skylight Calendar at myskylight.com/becky LMNT: Get a free gift with your purchase at drinkLMNT.com/goodinside Girl Scouts: If you have a daughter in kindergarten through 12th grade, visit girlscouts.org to learn more Little Spoon: Get 50% off your first order at littlespoon.com/rattled with code RATTLED Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. The early years of parenthood are spent almost entirely in bed — and almost never asleep. In this episode, Jeff revisits the co-sleeping years: a toddler who slept sideways, turning three bodies into a capital "H" and pushing both parents to the far edges of a California King; the strange comfort of dangling half off the mattress; and the parade of baubles that promise to ease new parenthood — chief among them the peerless My Brest Friend nursing pillow. Schuyler joins to walk through the Bugaboo prams, the Dutailier glider, the bedtime ritual of "steam roller," and the 3 a.m. bargain of whispering "give it to me" to a feverish kid. This is part of Diaries of a Dance Dad, an audio memoir series in Jeff's own words. It spans the full arc of parenthood: the inhale of birth and early chaos, the grind of no sleep and travel with kids, the gut-punches of failure, and the slow exhale of letting go. Danny McBride is the writer, actor, and producer behind “Eastbound & Down,” “Vice Principals,” and “The Righteous Gemstones.” For 30 years, he's satirized the aggrieved modern male, the guy who grew up on Rambo and ended up working at Geico. His first collection of short stories, “Thrilling Tales of Modern Men,” puts it all on the page. We get into masculinity, disappointment, the manosphere, and a world that already feels like the extended McBride universe. Beneath the comedy, the only real antagonist in these stories is the man himself. Danny is a master of his craft, and a rare eye on the foibles of the modern American man. Enjoy! Late-night comedy isn't dying. It's being rebuilt outside the corporate system. In this episode, Jeff sits down with comedian Ben Gleib, host and creator of "Good Night with Ben Gleib," the first creator-owned late-night talk show built for YouTube, to talk about comedy, resilience, and why laughter might be the most underrated health practice there is. They get into: How staying present defuses pressure, why owning your mistakes onstage builds trust, and what it takes to bring people together in a divided, doom-scrolling world. Why comedy is a real tool for resilience and lower stress How to stay calm when a moment goes sideways Rebuilding late night without a network or a corporate owner Cold plunges, Wim Hof, and reframing discomfort Speaking honestly without just preaching to the choir This episode is for anyone who loves comedy, thinks about resilience and presence, or wants a smarter take on how late night and online community are changing. “If I don't push my kid, they'll waste their potential.” A lot of us believe this. But is it true? Myleik Teele joins Dr. Becky to work through a question that haunts every ambitious parent. What unfolds is an honest look at whose anxiety is actually running the show — and whether the drive we're trying to install in our kids is something we need to figure out for ourselves first. They get into: what ability vs. effort actually predicts about your kid's future, the moment Myleik saw a straight-A report card and felt something twist inside her, and the specific pressure Black parents carry into every one of these conversations. Dr. Becky wrote up some conversation starters that might help if you're worried your kid isn't reaching their full potential. * Thank you to our partners for making this episode possible: Ole Henriksen: Use the code DRBECKY30 for 30% off the Banana Bright+ Eye Crème LMNT: Get a free gift with your purchase at drinkLMNT.com/goodinside Girl Scouts: If you have a daughter in kindergarten through 12th grade, visit girlscouts.org to learn more. Two kids, you play man-to-man. Three, and suddenly you're outnumbered and forced into zone defense, not to mention a Toyota Highlander with a third row. Micah was Jeff & Schuyler's third daughter, the one they never planned to have. This week, Jeff tells the birth story of his third daughter, born in the same Williamsburg basement as Lolli - except he doesn't remember it. Sleep deprivation wiped the day clean, so he handed the mic to Schuyler and her mother, Grannie Annie, whose handwritten account fills in the rest. What unspools is the family's defining cautionary tale, the "Prada handbag" - their shorthand for a first-world problem dressed up as principle. A blocked ureter, a kidney swollen to the size of a cantaloupe, thirty pounds lost over a month of crawling on all fours. And at the end of it, a baby born still sealed in her caul, the talisman sailors once paid a fortune to carry against drowning. This is the third episode of Diaries of a Dance Dad, an audio memoir series in Jeff's own words. It spans the full arc of parenthood: the inhale of birth and early chaos, the grind of no sleep and travel with kids, the gut-punches of failure, and the slow exhale of letting go. In today's episode of Backpacker Radio presented by The Trek, brought to you by LMNT, we are joined by Jeremy Phoenix aka Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen, aka Javos, a Navajo-born, Amish-country-raised, REI-employed, grave-digging, Princeton-attending thru-hiker who completed the Colorado Trail in 15 days on his first ever backpacking trip and has been making up for lost time ever since. In this one, Smitty walks us through completing the 24-hour challenge three separate times on the PCT, a free solo fall from 35 feet- that he just kind of walked off, getting stalked by a mountain lion, surviving shin splints for almost the full PCT, and a harrowing midnight ice traverse below Mount Whitney with no traction. He also shares what it means to be Navajo in America, including having code talker grandparents and introducing himself to the land before every new section of trail. We wrap the show with a tribute to longtime Patreon supporter Bill Jensen, who recently passed away on the CDT, the biggest thru-hiking preparation mistake- according to Peg Leg, addressing the question of which direction people predominantly face in the shower, and the triple crown of things you can easily live without but nonetheless should be free for everyone. What if the goal isn't just living longer, but feeling vital the whole way through? Peptides have jumped from the fringe to the mainstream, and most of what you'll find online comes from dubiously credentialed sources. In this episode, Jeff sits down with Dr. Aleksandra Gajer, an emergency medicine physician who spent a decade in the ER before founding The Gajer Practice and moving into longevity and regenerative medicine. They unpack what peptides really are and how to think clearly about a fast-moving, lightly regulated space. The conversation covers: What peptides actually are, and why insulin and GLP-1s belong to the same family BPC-157 and TB-500 for healing tendons, ligaments, and stubborn injuries Growth hormone-promoting peptides like sermorelin and tesamorelin for muscle and body composition The gray market, compounding pharmacies, and the FDA's shifting rules Cancer risks, contraindications, and who should be cautious This episode is for anyone curious about peptide therapy, longevity, and healing who wants grounded information instead of internet hype. When the contractions were two minutes apart, Jeff's phone chirped out the opening riff of Ice Ice Baby. That was the ringtone for Kara, the midwife. He picked up and she said, "Are you sitting down?" She wasn't coming. This week, Jeff tells the birth story of his second daughter, Ondine, aka Lolli — born in a Brooklyn basement that wasn't exactly Gatsby. When the model-turned-midwife got swept up in a home birth documentary and the backup landed two hours north on I-87, Jeff took off his clothes, got in the tub, and resolved to deliver his own baby — until Miriam walked through the door in the bottom of the ninth and caught their little wave with her bare hands. Schuyler joins him to unpack it all: the glam East Village midwife, the bagels, the old wives' tale that you only ever get two out of three (easy pregnancy, easy labor, easy baby), and what an emergency reveals about who you actually are. This is the second episode of Diaries of a Dance Dad, an audio memoir series in Jeff's own words. It spans the full arc of parenthood: the inhale of birth and early chaos, the grind of no sleep and travel with kids, the gut-punches of failure, and the slow exhale of letting go. We have godlike technology running on brains that haven't had an upgrade in millions of years. In this episode, Jeff sits down with Steven Kotler, peak performance expert and founder of the Flow Research Collective, to explore how exponential technology is reshaping our minds, our food systems, and the planet. Drawing on his new book with Peter Diamandis, We Are As Gods, Steven explains why so many of us feel overwhelmed, why he's most hopeful about the planet's wild places, and how flow states can restore focus and creativity in the age of AI. Why technological change went from linear to exponential Information overload, cognitive overload, and burnout How flow restores focus, creativity, and lateral thinking Cultured meat, vertical farming, and rewilding the planet Truth filters and first-principle thinking for the attention economy Finding meaning and purpose as AI reshapes work This episode is for anyone who feels stretched thin by technology and wants practical tools to think clearly, perform better, and reclaim their attention. Parents are being sold creativity like it's a subscription box. Workshops, kits, frameworks, scripts: the message being that your kid needs more imagination and it's your job to install it. Austin Kleon, author of Steal Like an Artist and Don't Call It Art, has a different take: your kid already has it. The imagination, the playfulness, the willingness to not-know — it's all there. The question isn't how to give it to them. It's how to stop blocking it. And maybe, while we're here, how to get a little of it back ourselves. Dr. Becky and Austin talk about what creativity actually needs to thrive (not a workshop), what so-called "problem kids" and great artists have in common, why your kid's obsession with garage doors is not a problem, the link between play and depression, the game that got Austin through the pandemic, and the teeth-brushing song Becky invented entirely by accident. Read Dr. Becky's ideas for how to be a playful parent when you don't feel like playing. * From the newborn days to the teen years, Good Inside now supports parents through every stage of childhood — with practical guidance for the moments that matter most. Jeff Krasno didn't expect to become a home birth convert. When his wife Schuyler handed him a pregnancy test on Christmas morning 2003, everything changed. In this episode, Jeff shares the birth story of their eldest daughter, tracing the unlikely path from a cramped Manhattan seminar with midwifery legend Ina May Gaskin to a blustery August delivery at the old family cottage in Fenwick, Connecticut, and the two weeks it took to finally name her. This is the first episode of Diaries of a Dance Dad, an audio memoir series in Jeff's own words. In today's episode of Backpacker Radio presented by The Trek, brought to you by LMNT, we are joined by our pal Elise Ott, aka Sauce, who gives us a play by play of her recent hike on Portuguese Camino coastal route along with her parents. SOS walks us through doing the Camino as a tribute to her late brother Curtis, who passed away in February of 2025 after years of living with schizoaffective disorder. She shares his story with honesty and humor, including the time he stole a county parks truck in a three-piece suit, drove it across state lines, and complimented the cop who tackled him, and gets into what it's like to love someone whose illness made them impossible to help, why she doesn't know exactly how he died, and what it meant to scatter his ashes along the coast of Portugal with her parents. Elise also shares what the Portuguese Camino coastal route is actually like, the food situation (and why it was mas o menos), how it was to hike the trail through a tour operator, navigating language barriers with limited Spanish, and what it's like to hike 13 days with your parents and come out closer on the other side. We wrap the show with 2026 hiking trends and whether they're actually worth it, debating the classic debate of raccoon-who-knows-your-secrets versus the goose-who-overreacts-to-everything, the triple crown of girly gear, I am very dumb and pulled my hamstring, and we cover a mailbag about wearing contacts on trail. Warning: this episode contains candid discussion of mental illness, substance abuse, family trauma, and the death of a loved one. LMNT: Get a free sample pack with any order at drinklmnt.com/trek. In this episode, she and Jeff trace that path: the unraveling, the hormones, the strength training, and the spiritual reckoning underneath all of it. They get specific about the physical and the spiritual at once: hormones, muscle, and the inner work that made the rest possible. Happiness is becoming scarcer as more of us work harder, longer hours. Most adults don't have a productivity problem—they have a joy problem. Somewhere between responsibilities, careers, parenting, and achievement, many people abandon happiness, that playful, curious version of themselves that once came naturally. Do we build better habits at the sake of losing our joy? Improv comedian, speaker, and workplace culture expert Erin Diehl argues that play is far more than entertainment—it's a gateway to resilience, creativity, authentic leadership, self-love, and deeper human connection. Through powerful stories about burnout, post-concussion recovery, IVF heartbreak, motherhood, and rebuilding her life around joy instead of achievement, Erin shares how learning to surrender control, develop happiness as a skill, embrace uncertainty, and intentionally create space for fun transformed both her personal life and business. Ramit Sethi of I Will Teach You To Be Rich talks to Freya and Blake, a couple in their mid-40s with two young children who are facing one of the most urgent financial situations we've seen on the show. Together, they earn around $143K a year, but their fixed costs are at 102%, they have $0 in savings, only $180 invested, and more than $96K in debt. Freya applied because she feared they were close to becoming homeless. On the surface, their problem looks like debt. Underneath, it's avoidance, guilt, lack of partnership, and years of “we'll figure it out later.” Freya carries the emotional labour of the household and money decisions, while Blake admits he avoids the numbers and tries to solve problems by simply making more money. Ramit helps them confront the reality of their situation, stop tinkering around the edges, and build a radical plan that gives their family a chance to get stable. In this episode we uncover: • Why Freya and Blake are spending more than they make every month • How their fixed costs reached 102% of their income • Why having a $143K income still isn't enough when there's no system • The $96K debt number that forces them to face reality • Why Freya feels like she has to manage everything alone • Blake's “ostrich” approach to money and avoidance • How trips, skiing, and everyday spending became symptoms of a bigger issue • Why being intelligent doesn't protect you from bad money decisions • The emotional cost of having $0 in savings with two young children • How childhood, privilege, resentment, and guilt shaped their money habits • Why hustling stops working once fixed costs get too high • Ramit's warning that they are weeks away from not being able to pay rent • Why Blake may need to aggressively increase his income • How they move from blame and panic into a shared plan • Their follow-up reflections on what finally felt doable Chapters: (00:01:20) Meet Freya and Blake (00:03:30) Why Freya applied to speak with Ramit (00:05:23) “Do you want to have a budget conversation?” (00:05:56) The skiing trip that became a money fight (00:08:22) The Mexico trip they couldn't afford (00:13:52) Savings are gone and the safety net has disappeared (00:15:16) Freya carries the planning, groceries, kids, and money stress (00:21:54) Looking at the Conscious Spending Plan together (00:24:01) The real debt and net worth numbers land (00:31:24) Why 102% fixed costs means they are broke (00:32:04) Ramit warns they are weeks away from not paying rent (00:34:54) Childhood money lessons and blame (00:43:57) Borrowing money to avoid eviction (00:48:11) Blake's belief that more income will solve everything (00:57:14) Guilt, family, and saying yes when they should say no (01:03:00) Defining a realistic Rich Life from where they are now (01:08:30) Childcare costs disappearing (01:15:03) Freya asks Blake to help with grocery planning (01:18:00) Why savings comes before debt payoff right now (01:34:00) Why the plan finally feels doable This episode is brought to you by: Grow Therapy | Visit https://growtherapy.com/ramit to find a therapist today.
